"Hermione, I'm telling you something doesn't add up! There aren't nearly as many deaths recorded during the years of the war than the textbooks put forth!" Harry hissed.
"Harry, why on earth would the textbooks lie?" Hermione sighed.
"I don't know, Hermione, that's why I'm bringing this up with you. You're the one who's smart. But also, there are record of the dark magic accredited to Voldemort being used long before Tom Riddle was even born."
"So what Harry, he's still evil!" Hermione argued.
"Think, Hermione, how do we know that? There's no record of all those deaths he's reported to have caused and all the dark magic he's said to have created was around long before his conception," Harry pointed out.
"Harry, he attacked you!" Hermione shouted angrily.
"We don't know that! There was a dark potion developed to improve someone's mental capacities, but it malfunctioned which resulted in a sort of split personality which manifested in a sort of person growing from the host like a wart almost. Quirrel was in charge of his own body and the name Voldemort, Dark Lord, or Tom Riddle was never mentioned," Harry argued.
"Then how do you explain the death eaters?"
"Come on, Hermione, you've studied muggle history. There are countless times where people are manipulated into following a cause they don't know anything about. Is it so crazy to think they may have pledged themselves to ideals that never even truly existed."
"Potter! Follow me now!" Snape snapped as he seemingly materialized out of thin air.
