"You can't hope for a horror story with a happy ending!"

Or can you?

"Commander, the time approaches."

A huge bell from the church can be heard ringing all across the town. An old event was about to take place again after a long time.

"Titans in the vicinity have been lured away!"

A brigade of green-cloaked soldiers, all on horseback, were waiting in front of the castle-like gates that stood before them with an insignia of one of their homes, ready for it to be lifted up.

"Gate opens in thirty seconds!"

The soldiers stood by, some patient while others were a bit anxious, especially the new recruits.

Near the middle of the warriors, a brunette teenage boy with green eyes was staring ahead, waiting for the time to come to take another step closer towards his dream.

The boy gasped when he heard what sounded like gasps of awe. He turned to his left to see two young children, a boy and a girl, staring at him and his comrades in wonder.

"Awesome, it's the Scouts!" The girl said.

"See that symbol? They call it the "Wings of Freedom!"" The boy responded.

"So cool!" The girl spoke. The Scout gave a soft smile at them, reminding him of when he was a boy that was in their exact position.

"This is it!" The young soldier turned back forward, his concentrated expression returning.

"The day has come for humanity to take another step forward! Now let's show those Titans exactly what we're made of!" The Scouts raised their fists or swords in a battle-cry like cheer, signifying their desire to fight back.

"Open the gate!"

The gate blocking their path was soon lifted up by a mechanism similar to those used to bring up drawbridges. When the path was opened, a blond man whose gaze spoke of ambition and authority that demanded to be obeyed closed his eyes for a brief moment.

"FORWARD!" The man roared, opening his eyes back up in pure resolution. The white horse he was riding on stood on their hind legs and neighed, sprinting forward with the other following closely behind him.

"It's officially begun! The 57th Recon Mission! SCOUT, MOVE OUT!" The commander screamed.

The soldiers, all part of one of three branches in the military called the Survey Corps, raced onwards, waiting for their commander to give the word to spread out in one of their most effective maneuvers: The Long-Distance Scouting Formation.

Once when they were far enough from the walls, their leader swiped his arm to the left and gave the word.

"See you around, good luck!" A tall, burly teen said to his comrades.

"Do us a favor and if you run into one of them, don't piss yourself." called out an ashy-brown haired young man.

"Yeah, same goes for you!" responded the last recruit in their group: another blonde male teen with mop-like hair and a small physique.

Soon the Scouts were spreading out according to plan, taking up their positions so that each member and group of the legion were doing their assigned part in signaling the arrival of Titans and keeping the formation intact as much as possible.

There was a little misstep, as one of the new recruits, a young woman with reddish-brunette hair in a pony-tail, encountered one of the "Abnormal" variants of their main enemy and dropped their smoke signal in fear by accident. One of her superiors managed to call her over to safety and distract the Titan long enough to have its head slammed face-first into a tree, rendering it immobilized for a moment. The girl thanked the commanding officer, before being told to return to her position.

After that little incident, all seem to go according to plan. Not a single Titan was sighted after a brief run-in with a couple of them. That is, until a soldier guarding one of the commander's side noticed some strange activity regarding the sun.

"Commander Erwin sir, the sun appears to be acting up!" The scout member relayed. The man known as Erwin Smith looked up and narrowed his eyes, seeing the same suspicious activity that his subordinate spotted.

He was contemplating on what it could be, when he noticed the rays being emitted were beginning to pulse more violently with every second.

Erwin was about to order his soldiers on what their next move was gonna be. But the rays got to them quicker. All of sudden, the sun rays glowed brighter than previously possible. It enveloped the whole regiment of soldiers, young and old, in its glow. It didn't stop there, as the waves reached the Walls they had just left and shrouded them as well.

Everybody could only watch as their whole world turned to white and their bodies being surrounded by the luminescent color.

The sun continued to pulsate until it finally stopped. When it did.

The Survey Corps was gone.

Magnolia, Fiore, October X784

In the relatively peaceful merchant city, the residents were going about their usual routine, doing whatever they needed to do and enjoying their lives as best as they could.

Located on the southern coast of the town however was a building the housed the town's signature and one of the most prominent organizations in the whole country: The Fairy Tail Guild

Despite its cutesy name, it was anything but that. Almost every member of the guild had eccentric personalities or quirks that made them stand out from the crowd while being seen as weird, crazy, or flat out insane. Friendly brawls would erupt at a constant pace, guild members throwing punches, kicks, or any kind of object they can get their hands on for the sake of winning the fight. It was all in good fun though, as it was basically an adult, more chaotic version of play fighting that children would do when they were younger. Even with that destructive tradition, as one would expect, the interior of the building was a mess afterwards and depending on how rough the fight was, the maintenance costs would skyrocket greatly much to the dismay of the guild's master.

However, unlike most days, this one was calm unlike most others. This was due to the fact that a longtime guild tradition besides the endless brawls was coming up soon: The S-Class Trials.

The Trials were a series of tests that judge the members based on their athletic and strategic prowess, pushing them to the limits to see if they can conquer any of the challenges the trials have in store for them. This was all for one purpose: To be promoted to S-Class. Members who are at S-Class Level are considered the strongest the guild has to offer and gain special perks along with the status such as going on more dangerous missions that are appropriately also S-Class Level, but pays much higher than normal missions. S-Class Members are also the only ones that are allowed on the second floor of the guild that is normally restricted, besides the guild master of course.

With the Trials close by, many of the members have been taking as many jobs as possible for the chance of being chosen as a candidate. So either the most rowdy members of the bunch were out on missions or they were too busy trying to find one they can do while also being on their best behavior.

While this was going on, a member of the guild was quietly reading to herself at one of the tables, enjoying the rare moments of serenity the day offered. The chocolate-eyed young blond was engrossed in the novel she was reading, liking the contents of the pages while also getting ideas for her own book that she plans to write someday.

The girl was Lucy Heartfilia, a recent member of the guild that joined not too long ago, but quickly became one of its more prominent and well-loved members of the group. She wasn't as much of a fighter as her guildmates, but she could hold her own and is quickly becoming stronger with every battle she participates in. Her true strength lies in her courage like everyone else, her intellect, and her power.

The world that Fairy Tail and Magnolia lives in is similar to any other world, except for one difference: Magic isn't fiction, it's reality. The discovery and usage of magic had changed the world significantly to the point where magic isn't a bizarre phenomenon, but a part of everyday life that the people have grown accustomed to. Magic could be used for anything, from the mundane like cleaning a house, to all-out war. Thanks to many variations and types of magic, mages have a large selection to choose from and can find a brand that matches their personality or their interests.

For Lucy, she has a rare, but innovative type of magic that not many people have seen or possess: Celestial Spirit Magic. It was a Holder Magic, a magic that requires the use of an item to be casted properly, that can allow the user to call upon the spirits based off the twelve signs of the Zodiac, in the form of uniquely-design keys that opens the gates to which the spirits can come through. It isn't just the Zodiac however, there are many keys that represent practically every constellation in existence. The Zodiac however is the rarest and the most powerful of them however.

She currently has 9 of the 12 Golden Keys, but Lucy plans to get them all someday and become a powerful Celestial Spirit Mage just like her mother.

The blonde was going through her book until she noticed something out of the corner of her eye. A faint glow that was peering in through the clear glass of the windows and the cracks of the main guildhall door. The girl didn't think much of it at first and went back to reading her book, thinking it was the sun's rays.

That was until the glow became bigger and brighter. Lucy turned her head to the door again, noticing how the light seemed to grow both in size and brightness. This caught the other guild members attention, who also didn't pay attention until now.

Most of the guild was murmuring to themselves and each other, while others took notice of the light, but didn't say anything.

"Uh, does anyone know what that light is all about?" said a lean, dark-skinned member with a curly strand of black hair on his head and gnawing on his meal.

"Don't know, but it seems to be getting bigger." responded a slender man that had a spiky ponytail.

The light was growing as he said. Soon the rapid increase was getting out of control and the light blinded everyone in its luminescent aura, forcing the members to shield their eyes lest they suffer from temporary or permanent blindness.

It was only for a few seconds before the light dimmed down. Everybody looked at each other with puzzled expressions. Lucy decided to see what was going on that caused that light. But when she opened the door, she found something more than she bargained for.

The young mage looked with opened-eyes at the group of people lying unconscious before her. They were wearing green clocks that had some kind of symbol representing two crossed wings with contrasting colors. One of these people didn't have these cloaks and they seemed to be wearing a uniform of some kind. Upon closer inspection, Lucy could see that some of the people were around her age, maybe a little older while the others looked like full-grown adults. Besides the cloaks, all of them except the one that lacked a cloak seemed to be wearing a peculiar type of machinery strapped to their waists that took the vague appearance of a sword's sheath.

That didn't matter though. Lucy didn't know who these people were or how they ended up in front of their guild, but she wasn't going to leave them there like that.

"Hey, Lucy! What's going on-" One of her closest friends that had a peculiar looking scarf called out to her, the guild following him until he saw the bodies on the floor and stopped.

"Help me get them into the infirmary." Lucy asked. Her friend nodded and he along with the rest of the guild when they saw the people helped carried their bodies into the guildhall so that they could get the proper help.

Squinted eyes twitched, struggling to get themselves open. The owner of these closed eyes was squirming, trying to wake herself up, but seemed unable to. The struggle went on until the girl finally opened her eyes at the wooden ceiling over her head.

She lifted herself up and took notice of her surroundings. To put it simply, she was confused. All the girl remembered was being on her horse and being with her assigned squad during the expedition, then a large flash covering her vision and the next thing she knew, she was here.

She was still in her military uniform, but was placed in a bed by someone. Her gear was taken off of her obviously so she could sleep comfortably, but that left her wondering where it was. That didn't become her prime focus however, as she realized that all of her friends and the other scouts were also in that light and they might be transported just like she was.

The girl got out of her bed and started exploring the area. Once she got a better look of the room, she figured out that they might be in some sort of medical room for the sick and wounded. There were beds all over the place and each one of them held one of her friends and fellow soldiers. But a particular individual caught her eye.

A blonde-mop haired boy with slightly pale skin was sleeping calmly. The young teenage girl went over to his bedside and started shaking him lightly.

"Armin, wake up. Armin." The girl said in a calm, but stern tone.

Armin Arlert started opening his eyelids slowly. Once he did, he turned to his side and saw the person that woke him from his slumber.

"Mika-sa?" He spoke drowsily.

The soldier got up and was still adjusting his eyesight. Once he was cleared, he could see he was in some kind of infirmary area. Confused, he turned his head over to where his childhood friend was.

"Where are we?" He asked.

Mikasa Ackerman gave him a comprehensive look. "I don't know. I can't remember anything besides that light that hit us." She answered him honestly.

Armin gave a thoughtful expression, wondering what was that large shine that possibly brought them here. But if that's the case, how was the light able to do that, and why did they bring them here to this location specifically?

"Armin." He turned his attention over to his friend. "We can figure out all this later. We have to wake up everyone else and find out where we are. For all we know, this could be a trap."

The older soldier thought about it. She was right that they needed to get everyone up and caught up with the current situation, but he wasn't sure if that last part was completely true. If whoever put them here wanted to do something bad to them, they would've already done so or at the very least put them in a dungeon or someplace less hospitable. He couldn't fully discount the possibility however.

Armin looked around to see who came with them to this place. He spotted their friends that graduated from them, but one individual in particular caught his eye. A short, blond girl with her hair tied up in a bun and has one bang covering her eye.

'Annie?' The blonde was confused. Unlike most of the people he knew personally, she was the only one who went ahead to the Military Police Brigade, not the Survey Corps. Armin didn't know how she ended up here along with them. Come to think of it, a lot of the Scouts appeared to not come with them, along with a select few along with some popular faces like the Commander and Humanity's Strongest Soldier.

As they inspected the scene, a door creaked open and both kids turned to the sound in alert.

"Oh, you're awake. I was worried you might be in a coma, but I'm glad I was wrong."

The voice, which was calm, gentle and full of serenity, belonged to young women that looked to be around their age, but a little older and was stunning in her appearance. She was wearing a maroon-colored dress with long hair running down her back and a single forward pigtail at the top of her head. The thing that surprised them the most though was her hair color. It was a radiant white, but unlike the kind you would see on the elderly, it didn't look faded or dull.

Mikasa put herself in front of Armin in case the worst situation was about to occur. The woman noticed this and put a sympathetic smile on.

"Don't worry, I'm not here to hurt you. After all, you are in the infirmary. I just came to see if you were alright."

Mikasa didn't lower her guard. "Who are you and where are we?"

Knowing that the girl was still on edge, the woman tried to ease the tension. "My name is Mirajane Strauss, but you can call me "Mira" for short. You are currently in the Fairy Tail Guildhall, located in its infirmary."

"Fairy Tail? Guildhall?" Mikasa didn't know what the two terms meant and judging by the look on Armin's face, he didn't either.

"If you want, you can come and see the rest of the guild or you can stay and rest here. I'm going to let everyone know you've woken up and have our healer check on your friends."

The duo looked at each other, wondering what they should do. They couldn't leave their comrades here, but at the same time they wouldn't be able to get any answers if they just stayed here. The platinum-haired lady began to walk away.

"Wait!" Mikasa called out. She turned around, still giving them a gentle smile.

"Yes?"

"We'll come with you. But try anything cute." She warned dreadfully.

Mirajane just lit up in response. "You have my word."

The three made their way over to the main area of the building, all the while Armin and Mikasa were inspecting their surroundings, the latter keeping a close eye on Mira in case she pulled something.

Soon the trio made their way over to where everyone else was. Suffice to say, the two scouts were in for a sight.

Many people were wearing a combination of abnormal hair colors and odd attires were prancing around without a care in the world. It can only be described as chaos incarnate. Little do they know however, this was tame compared to what they would usually do.

Everyone stopped what they were doing to see their resident barmaid with a couple of unfamiliar faces.

"Look what I brought everyone." Mira said politely.

The residents stared at the two individuals for a moment. The duo didn't know how to proceed, so Armin lifted his hand up and waved unsurely.

"H-Hi there."

The guild members continued staring at the soldiers until they came up to them.

"I'm glad to see you're awake, it's nice to meet you." said another blonde-haired girl with earth-like eyes, white outfit with blue stripes and skirt, and a friendly smile.

"Yeah, it was Lucy right here that discovered yah." A man with spiky and peculiar salmon hair, a white-scaly scarf, and a toothy grin said as he patted Lucy on the back while she was flustered.

"It was nothing really." She murmured.

Armin and Mikasa turned their heads over to the wizard, their expressions softening.

"Thank you for helping us out." The brainiac responded gratefully.

"We would've been in worse shape if you hadn't found us." The fighter added.

"Oh uh thank you, but really it's nothing."

While they were getting the gratitude out of the way, Porlyusica, the guild's crabby, but well-meaning healer came into the main section of the guildhall to inform everyone that the others had awoken.

"Uh, my head is still hurting" A short boy with a haircut that made him appear semi-bald groaned out.

"Oh stop complaining Connie, it could've been a lot worse." A young, red-like brunette said, scolding her friend.

"Your head would still hurt if you just woke up from a coma with a crabby pink-haired grandma admonishing you Sasha." Connie whispered back.

"Will you quit arguing already? There are people here." The brown-ashy teen scolded, only to be met with a look from both of them that spelled out "Your one to talk".

The teen looked forward only to be face-to-face with something he didn't expect: A flying blue cat.

"Hmm. Why do you have a horse face?" The cat spoke. The boy immediately reeled back as soon as the words left the feline's mouth.

"A TALKING CAT!" He shouted exasperatedly.

The blue feline flew back from the sudden shouting, being startled by it. It went over to a man that had weird spiky pink hair.

"You alright, Happy?" The man asked. He looked over to the brown-ashy haired soldier and squinted at him.

"Hey man, don't scare Happy like that." He said fiercely. The teenage soldier could tell the guy was protective over the abnormal cat, so he tried to defuse the situation.

"Uh, sorry. Just wasn't expecting him to talk." He explained.

The pinkette looked at him for a moment, seemingly analyzing him much to the recruits discomfort. He looked at him after a moment and smiled.

"It's fine. That's what most people's reaction to Happy is anyway." The blue cat just gave him a look before turning to the newcomers.

"Anyway, with that out of the way." A literal red-haired woman wearing a suit of armor and a blue skirt came up to the group. She seemed kind, but her presence radiated an aura that the soldiers could tell demanded obedience.

"We're glad that you are all alright. We found you all unconscious and took you all to our guild's healer." The woman explained. One of the soldiers wanted to know something.

"What did you do with our gear?" An orange-haired woman asked.

"Oh, your weapons are stored somewhere safe. We had to get them off of you so that you could rest easily." Another woman of the guild answered, this one with short, blue hair and wore an orange dress with a yellow headband and a pink flower attached to it.

It was then that Erwin stepped up to take charge as a representative of his regiment.

"We offer you our thanks for assisting us in our hour of need." He said in gratitude. The scarlet knight just smiled in response.

"Why don't we all introduce ourselves so that we are familiar with each other." She suggested. The commander nodded.

"My name is Erwin Smith. I'm the Commander of a branch of Soldiers called the Survey Corps." Erwin announced. His second statement got some of the mages interested while others were impressed.

"It's an honor to meet you Commander Erwin." A short, but elderly man stated. Erwin nodded.

"Likewise, mister-?"

"Makarov, my boy, Makarov." The man replied. Erwin just gave another nod.

From the Survey Corps was Commander Erwin Smith, the leader of the regiment who is known for his intellectual prowess.

Although he was apprehensive, a short, angry dude introduced himself among the group.

"My name is Levi." The soldier said. The Fairy Tail mages just blinked at his sentence.

"That's it?" One member asked.

"Oh don't mind him, he's always a sourpuss." A google-wearing woman stated. She threw her arm around the man, which caused him to scowl hard, but she was oblivious to this or didn't care.

"My name's Hange. Pleasure working with all of you." The guild liked this woman a lot more than her male companion.

His right hand man, Captain Levi, a short, crude man who holds the moniker of Humanity's Strongest Soldier for his insane skill and combat expertise.

Hange Zoe, the corps resident scientist on the research of their main enemies who has more than a "healthy" obsession with them.

"So who are you guys? Why do most of you have weird-colored hair? What is this place? Are we outside the walls? And why does that cat have wings, and can talk, let alone being blue?! It defies all scientific reasoning! " Hange rambled, the guild members not prepared to answer that many questions all of a sudden, especially the aforementioned blue cat that looked disturbed.

"Section Commander, please don't go overboard with your interrogation again." A young man sighed.

"Who are you?" One member asked.

"I'm Moblit. I'm an executive officer and Section Commander Hange's assistant." Moblit explained. Everyone could tell he was the calm one that had to bring his overzealous commander to the earth.

Accompanying her was her right aid Moblit Berner, who many times has to be the one to reel in his superior back into reality when she gets into her moods.

After that was settled, another man that looked to be a hard veteran from his appearance and demeanor began sniffing some of the guild members much to their discomfort.

"Uh, what's he doing?" Another member wondered.

"Oh that's Mike. Don't mind him, that's how he usually gets to know people." Hange explained.

'Like a dog?' Most of the guild thought.

Mike Zachiarus, an experienced veteran who was the former number one soldier before being usurped by Levi, but was still a skilled warrior nonetheless and has an unusually keen sense of smell. It was then that Humanity's Strongest held out his hand to a certain group of people.

"This is my team of soldiers I hand picked out personally. They are known as the Special Operations Squad." Levi stated

"Also known as the Levi Squad." Hange exclaimed joyfully, causing the shorter veteran to grunt.

"My name is Eld." A blond man with a scruff and his hair tied into a bun introduced himself.

"I'm Gunther." A dark-skinned man with brunette hair that ended in a spike said.

"I'm Oruo, the strongest soldier ever under our captain of course. You punks better show me some respect or I'm just gonna have-". A much older man began rambling before he bit his tongue and blood came out.

"That's what happens when you run your mouth. Don't mind him, anyway my name is Petra, nice to meet you." A young redhead woman politely greeted them after scolding her teammate.

Overall, the guild liked the squad, although the old-looking guy definitely has an arrogance problem.

Finally, there were four additional veterans that are the members of Levi's own personal squad called the Special Operations Squad, or simply the "Levi Squad", composed of the legion's most valuable members in terms of combat: Eld Jinn, Gunther Schutlz, Petra Ral, and Oruo Bozard.

After the veterans were cleared, the recruits took their turn.

"My name's Armin." The blonde boy introduced.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Armin." The bluenette from earlier said happily.

"Uh, Thanks." Armin said flustered. This caused a muscular black-haired man with iron piercings to grunt, and two other men to look on in envy and jealousy.

Armin Arlert, a boy who had self-confidence issues becoming more courageous and is known for having a high amount of intelligence himself.

"Mikasa." The raven-haired prodigy stated. Most of the guild and the recruits sweatdropped a little from the blunt statement.

"It's an honor to meet your Mikasa." The serious scarlet responded, being one of the few people that ignored her quiet nature.

"Likewise." Mikasa returned.

Mikasa Ackerman, a quiet, stoic girl that graduated at the top of her class as the Number 1 Recruit due to being an excellent fighter.

"Name Jean. Hey there." Jean introduced, giving a slightly cocky grin.

"Jean? I thought your name would be like "Horseface" or something." Happy mentioned.

"IT IS NOT!" The teen shouted, getting the blue feline to giggle to himself. 'Not this cat too!' Jean screamed in his head.

Jean Kirstein, a hot-tempered, but ambitious teen that was 6th in the top ten and has good leadership skills along with being the best at using the Military's main weapon, as well as having a weird-looking "horse-like" face.

"My name's Connie. Sup." The semi-bald short teen spoke.

"Nice to meet you Connie." Another bluenette smiled, but was shorter and appeared to be a bit younger than the new members of the Survey Corps

"Don't mention it shortly." He responded, giving her a pat on the head while the girl sweatdropped.

"I don't think you have a right to call her that small fry." Jean pointed out, getting Connie to look at him with a glare while the taller recruit just smirked.

Connie Springer, a short, shaven boy who is known for being a goofball, but is one to cheer up and act as the moral support of the group.

"Imph mpph Sgasmgha." The red-haired brunette said, or at least tried to say as her mouth was stuffed with food that she was still continuing to chow down that she managed to sneak without anyone noticing.

"Come on Sasha. We're visitors, learn some respect!" Connie said exasperatedly. His female comrade gulped down the rest of the food she was eating, and grinned sheepishly while apologizing.

'Where did she get that?' Some of the members were surprised at the girl being able to get the food undetected.

Sasha Braus, a countryside girl who is a skilled archer and is well-known for having quite the appetite, so much so that her classmates refer to her as "Potato Girl" due to an incident at the start of their training.

"Hi, my name is Krista Lenz. Nice to meet you!" She said, giving a sweet smile while her eyes were closed. Many of the guild's male members instantly saw hearts upon her and had lovestruck expressions on their faces. Lucy scowled lightly at that, remembering her attempts at wooing the opposite gender to no avail.

Krista Lenz, the last to be in the top ten and another short blond that is regarded for her angelic appearance and soothing attitude, being called an "angel" by any person that encounters her.

"Hmp. My name is Ymir. AND STAY AWAY FROM MY KRISTA IF YOU KNOW WHAT'S GOOD FOR YOU!" Her friend announced, making sure to have her arm around the shorter blond and bring Krista closer to her protectively. The males backed off as she meant business.

Ymir, a tall, dark-skinned girl with freckles that has a scruffy attitude and a brutal honesty that puts her at odds with most people, but she doesn't care nonetheless. She is also relatively close to Krista.

"Anyways." A burly soldier took a glance at the two before turning back the guild members.

"My name's Reiner. Pleasure knowing you." He said with a confident smirk.

"So, how strong are yah?" The tough-looking man with piercings stated.

"I was ranked second in our graduation class, after her." He replied, pointing at Mikasa. The man just grinned.

"I think I might like this guy."

Reiner Braun, the second in the top ten with a huge stature, and a calm and friendly demeanor. He's known for being a role model among his peers and also has the qualities of being a leader.

"I-I'm Bertolt." The tall man stammered.

"So Bertolt. Are you a real man?" A tall, dark-skinned man asked.

"A real man?"

"Yes, like this" The wizard replied, giving off a pose that was to display his "manliness". Bertolt just looked stupefied.

'Well he is known for poses. Just not the ones you're thinking of.' Reiner thought.

Bertolt Hoover, the third in the top ten that is tall, lean, but has a meek and timid personality. He sleeps in weird positions that his classmates used to joke about what the weather is going to be like.

"Annie." Another and the only other blonde girl among the recruits said, keeping it short and simple.

'Not much of a talker either, are ya?' Another black-haired man that was missing a shirt thought, noting the exact same response that Mikasa gave out earlier.

Lastly, Annie Leonhart, the fourth of the top ten who is known for her knack to slack off, and having an unique and effective martial arts style. She was the only one to not join her peers in the Scouts, instead using her position to join the Military Police.

After the soldiers, both new and old, were done introducing themselves, the members of Fairy Tail decided to return the gesture.

"Well, I'll go first. A couple of you know me earlier, but for those that don't, I'm Mirajane, but you can call me "Mira"." She said sweetly.

'Another angel?!' Most of the male recruits thought.

Mirajane Strauss, the guild's barmaid and being one of the more friendly members of the organization, which is ironic if anyone knew about her personality when she was growing up, was anything but that, giving her the name "The Demon".

"My name is Lucy. It's so nice to meet all of you." The chocolate-eyed blonde said happily.

"Plmeamsure is ammphll oghhurs!" Sasha said, still eating with her mouth full.

"Uh, Thanks?" Lucy responded unsurely.

Lucy Heartfilia, one of the guilds smartest members who has a cheerful and upbeat persona that complimented her appearance. She was once the heir to a wealthy family before running away to find her own path, eventually going down the road that would lead her to joining Fairy Tail.

"My name's Gray." The shirtless guy spoke.

"Uh, what happens to your clothes?" Oruo asked. Gray looked down and his eyes turned white for a moment.

"Huh?! When did that happen?" He said in shock.

Gray Fullbuster, a laid back, chill individual who was one of the first members of the guild in his generation who has the weird and sometimes disturbing habit of stripping, especially without him even knowing it.

"My name is Erza. Welcome to our guild." The knight finally revealed.

"You have our thanks, Erza." Erwin spoke. Erza just shook her head.

"It's no problem at all, commander." The knight said.

Erza Scarlet, a surname fitting her thanks to her literal red hair, is known for her expertise in multiple weapons and being one of the guilds strongest members, also acting as the guild's "disciplinarian" and having fondness for strawberry cheesecake.

"I'm Elfman, and I'm the toughest and "manliness" of them all!" The dark-skinned burly man shouted.

'Manliness of them all huh?' Connie said internally, a bit curious on what he means.

Elfman Strauss, Mirajane's younger brother who is a tall, tanned muscular individual who has his sister's white hair, a scar under his left eye and a verbal tic of saying everything is "manly" and proving himself to be a "real man".

"Well, you know my older sister and brother, but my name is Lisanna." Another platinum-haired woman with shorter hair announced.

"Nice to meet you, Lisanna." Krista spoke.

"Same here Krista." She replied cheerfully.

Lisanna Strauss, the youngest of the Strauss siblings that also has white hair and ocean eyes like her sister. Due to a tragic incident in the past, Lisanna was thought to be dead. But after the guild's most recent adventure, they discovered her alive and well, and she returned to her home at last.

"The name's Gajeel. Hey there." The iron-pierced man introduced himself, giving a wicked grin that showed his teeth.

'Does that guy have metal pierced into him?' Annie thought, raising an eyebrow at the man's appearance.

Gajeel Redfox, a tall, scruffy man with metal piercings in his nose and having a tough, unwelcoming appearance, but is really a softie inside once you get to know him. Was once an enemy of the guild before amending his past mistakes and becoming a member. He is known for having a distinct laugh.

"My name is Levy. It's so great to meet all of you." The blue-haired petite woman from earlier cheered happily.

'Huh, her name is one of Captain Levi's, and is… lower like him. They definitely don't have the same personality though.' Jean said in his head.

Levy McGarden, a bookworm that is energetic and almost always has her face in a book. She's Lucy's best friend and the leader of one of the teams of the guild: Team Shadow Gear. She was also one of the first people to welcome and befriend Gajeel.

"My name is Freed. It is my pleasure to welcome you to our home." A regal-like man said.

"Thanks so much for having us, Freed." Petra replied. The man smiled.

"It is no problem at all Petra."

Freed Justine, a greenette with long hair and an eloquent appearance that carries a rapier at his side. He's recognized at being one of the more reserved out of his guildmates and also has a knack for being an intellectual.

"Yeah, we love having no people join our guild, that's our shtick. Family and all that." A masked man added.

"Welcome, welcome, welcome." Floating Tiki Doll surrounded him, chanting the word as if copying their master.

"Uh, are they supposed to do that?" Moblit asked, looking a bit nervous and spooked.

"Oh them? Don't worry about them. My babies do that all that time. The name's Bickslow by the way." He grinned.

"Nice to m-meet you Bickslow." The soldier responded. The crazy man grinned wickedly.

Bickslow, a crazy wacko that wears a suit accompanied by a knight-like helmet visor and a purple feather accessory. His guild mark is located on his tongue, which is always sticking out most of the time. He has voodoo tiki dolls that are with him, which he calls his babies.

"Honestly Bickslow. You need to dial it down on that wackiness of yours." A young woman with glasses reprimanded lightly.

"Who are you?" Armin questioned.

"My name is Evergreen. Nice to meet your acquaintance." The woman flipped her hair back while giving a combined confident yet flirty smile. Armin just blushed a bit from the gesture.

Evergreen, a sassy, glasses wearing light brunette that has a green dress and a charming demeanor. Despite her pompous attitude, she still cares for her guildmates even if she doesn't really show it.

Along with Freed and Bickslow, they form the Thunder Legion, one of the guilds powerful teams, but they are currently without their leader due to a past incident that almost destroyed the guild from the inside out.

"Cana. What's up?" A tanned girl greeted, taking a big gulp of alcohol from a barrel afterwards.

'How does someone drink alcohol like that, let alone so much?' Eld and Gunther thought.

Cana Alberona, a dark-skinned brunette that wears skimpy outfits and has a hard-on for alcohol, usually straight from the barrel. She is known for being good with cards and makes predictions based on said cards and their positions.

"Hello. My name is Wendy, nice to meet you." The younger bluenette said while giving a bow.

'Hm. Kind, elegant, polite. She reminds me a bit of Krista.' Ymir thought, putting a hand to her chin and grinned a bit.

Wendy Marvell, a cute little girl that has a shy, meek personality, but a kind and gentle demeanor. She is also one of the guilds' more recent members after an encounter with other guilds that forced them to team up and take down one of the world's most powerful dark guilds.

"I'm Juvia." Another bluenette woman with longer hair and lacked noticeable pupils introduced herself. While she was joyed to meet new people, she was also frustrated on the inside.

'Great. More women to try and steal my Gray from me.' She thought enviously.

Juvia Lockser, a beautiful woman that was once shunned because of a condition regarding her magic that she couldn't control. She later joined the guild that Gajeel was in and just like him, became a member of Fairy Tail after the initial conflict between her former and current guild. She tends to refer to herself in the third person and is extremely smitten with Gray, much to his annoyance.

"You already know me, but I'm Happy!" The blue cat exclaimed.

"I'm Carla." Another white cat that was a female, not really caring as she didn't want to deal with potentially more ruffians that she already has to put up with.

"My name is Pantherlily, but you can refer to me as "Lily"." A third black, round-eared cat appeared.

There was also Happy, Carla, and Panther Lily, "Lily" for short. The former has an annoying behavior but lives up to his name, the middle a strict, stuck-up diva with a motherly-like attitude, and the latter a honorable warrior. The thing about them though was that they weren't humans, but instead talking cats from a race known as "Exceeds". Suffice to say, like Jean, the scouts were freaked out by this at first, but went along with it for now.

"And I'm Natsu! Welcome to Fairy Tail!" He shouted boastfully. Mikasa seemed to be a bit surprised by his energy

"Thanks for having us here." She responded, a bit shaken by the declaration.

"It's all good. We're a family here, so we love having new people over." Natsu said, giving a toothy grin.

Finally, there was Natsu Dragneel, the most chaotic of them all. He was always willing to fight somebody to see who was stronger, but always stuck up for his friends and never turned his back on them. To everyone, he represents the spirit of the guild itself.

Many other guild members introduced themselves, and soon everyone was becoming acquainted. Erwin suggested heading somewhere to discuss the situation of their arrival, with Makarov as the guildmaster of Fairy Tail deciding to take them up to the closed-off second floor to have their meeting.

Mikasa decided to sit at one of the tables away from the crowd to clear her head and try to comprehend the situation. Mira came by with a drink, which was unexpected but Mikasa thanked her anyway. While all this was going down, she couldn't help but feel like something was missing. It was this shaking feeling that she experienced before, but she couldn't put her finger on it. She turned towards her comrades to see what it was that was bothering her.

The soldier saw how some of them were already getting along with the guild members, but something just didn't seem right. Mikasa got this feeling as soon as she met Natsu. He was loud, obnoxious, and had quite the temper. Not long after the introductions, an argument broke out between him and Gray, and just as it was about to escalate, they were both knocked to the ground with large bumps on their heads, courtesy of the guild's "Knight". However, Mikasa saw the fiery spirit, determination, and passion that seemed to infect everyone in a positive manner, which seemed really familiar to her. The girl decided to check and count all of her teammates just to be sure.

She counted all the scouts that were present and everything seemed fine. Until she noticed something and counted again to be sure. Her eyes went wide with shock and she dropped her glass, causing it to shatter and gain everyone's attention.

"Mikasa? What's wrong?" Armin asked worriedly.

Mikasa couldn't believe she didn't notice this earlier, no wonder something was up with that encounter. She was kicking herself for such a stupid mistake.

There was something missing, something that she cared about more than anything.

She looked at Armin and spoke three, simple words that made her childhood friend's eyes widen.

"Armin, Where's Eren?"

In the midst of a deep forest, a young teenage boy was sleeping soundly on the grassy meadows the woods held. He was resting peacefully until he opened his eyelids and lifted himself up.

He rubbed his eyes and cleared his vision.

"Wha-What?" The boy groaned.

When he looked around, he noticed all the trees surrounding him. It wasn't until the teenage soldier looked closer that he realized that he wasn't where he was supposed to be.

"Where am I?" Eren Jaeger asked no one in particular.

Eren looked down and saw he still had his gear attached to him. He checked it and thankfully it was still functional.

The soldier got up and started exploring the area. Eren couldn't see anything but large trees that stretched on for miles. However, he had the feeling he wasn't in the Forest of Giant Trees that his squad and the rest of the regiment were heading to for their scouting mission.

Eren stopped when he realized that his squad was nowhere to be seen. He started calling out the names of his superiors and his friends.

"Captain Levi!'

"Oruo! Eld! Petra! Gunther!"

"Armin!"

"Mikasa!"

Eren kept shouting the names of his comrades, but he didn't get any response.

"Where did everyone go?"

Eren didn't know what happened. All he remembers is a large flash of sunlight blinding him and the whole legion. After that he just suddenly woke up in the middle of nowhere, separated from everyone.

He couldn't figure out what had happened, but what he did know was that he was going to get his answers by finding them himself instead of standing around.

The new recruit of the Scouting Legion trekked on through the woods, calling out names and looking around as best as he could in case one of his friends or his squadmates was nearby.

While he did that, Eren made sure to pay as close attention to his surroundings as possible for anything out of the ordinary. Despite being in a forest, the young soldier could tell he wasn't where he was supposed to be inside of the walls, as the woods gave off a foreign vibe even to him.

It wasn't long though until he stumbled upon a deep cave with a huge opening. As you would expect, it was pitch black and very hard to see from the outside.

"I don't know if they are here, but there is the possibility of set-up camp or something in case someone comes by. Well, I don't know for sure unless I check it out."

With that, Eren began exploring.

To his surprise, although the cave was dark from the inside, it seemed to brighten up once he went in further.

It wasn't until he got into the heart of the cave that things took a turn for the weird. For one, there were strange carvings etched onto the cave walls. Upon closer inspection, Eren could see that there were small holes that seemed to go to different sections of the cave, but he couldn't tell where due to being too far. There were also stone pillars that were shaped into upwards claws surrounding a large pit near the end of the tunnel Eren was traveling on. All in all, the area looked more like a giant room for something to live in.

"What is this?" He whispered.

Eren looked around the area except the pit because he didn't want to risk something even with his gear being able to get him out of it. When he discovered nothing, he decided it would be best to look for his friends somewhere else.

That was until.

"Who… goes… there… ?"

A deep, growly voice echoed through the hollow walls. Eren stopped in his tracks, his eyes widened with shock as he turned around. He couldn't see anything. He paused to listen again, but heard nothing.

All of a sudden a large torrent of blue-ghostly flames erupted from the pillar in front of him, forcing him to cover himself with his arms to defend against the heat. Not only that, the cave started to light up with smaller, orange flames bursting out from holes in the upper portions of the walls.

The mostly empty cave completely transformed into an area that resembled a weird ritual site. But that wasn't the most concerning aspect.

It was what came out of the hole that frightened him.

The soldier soon found himself staring at a massive creature. A large, red figure with bluish tints on its skin emerged from the pit in a fierce spectacle. They had bat-like wings with a large wingspan that almost collided with the cave wall, but was short enough to have a lot of room to move around. They had horns that curved backwards on their hand, sharps fangs, and claws on its hands and feet, and to top it all off, a slender tail with a pointed end that resembled a sharp tendril, the bladed parts of the body all colored a darker shade of red. The face contained pointy ears and a sharp, but thin nose, accompanied by white eyes with blue pupils and also white irises. Markings that seem to resemble flame-like patterns adorned the creatures forearms, around their section of their legs just above their feet, and where their wings attached to their back.

The figure looked down on Eren, giving a piercing glare and seemed none to please.

"So it was you, a tiny, pathetic human, that dared to wake me from my slumber."

Eren could only look at the towering monstrosity in sheer terror. He had never seen anything like it before.

"Who, Who are you? What are you?!"

The entity just sneered in disgust. "I should've known you humans wouldn't be knowledgeable about me or my kind. I am Kinvinaris! The greatest Fire Demon to have ever existed!"

Eren couldn't believe what he was hearing. An actual demon. Well he certainly looked the part.

Besides all that, Eren just looked at the being in fear. He wasn't sure if he could fight against this thing. It seemed too powerful, even more than his kind's biggest enemy.

"Look, I'm sorry I awoke you. I didn't know. I'll leave and never come back." As he said this, the soldier made his way towards the exit, only to have it surrounded by flames. He looked back to see the fire demon hand out, commanding the flames to make sure that Eren couldn't escape.

"While your offer is tempting, I can not allow it. I think I will send a message to your race about the consequences of crossing paths with a demon, by leaving your burnt up corpse out in front of my home!"

The demon roared, shaking the cave walls with just his voice alone. It was so strong that Eren had to stop himself from falling over.

Eren didn't know what to do. His day just suddenly took a turn for the worst and now it might cost him his life, as his only escape route was blocked off and didn't look like it would give him a chance to leave without death by fire. He was shaking with fear, doubt filling his core wondering if he could get out of this mess in one piece.

Even if he were to fight, he didn't know if he could beat this thing. For all he knew, it could burn him within seconds before he could even get in one hit.

"Come on, come on. Think! How do I get myself out of this?!"

The fear and doubt took over him until Eren reminded himself of his mission, his dream. The reason why he wanted to go outside the walls in the first place and what further drove him to claim to eradicate those enemies that drove his kind to the brink of extinction, the ones that caged him in those cursed walls.

The ones who took his mother away from him.

With growing confidence and bravery, Eren hardened his face into a deep, hateful scowl and turned to the larger entity.

"Look, I don't care who you are. I don't care why you're here and what your motives are. All I care about is reuniting with my friends and following my mission to the very end. And no one is going to stop me." Eren looked up and glared at his opponent resolutely, which seems to further infuriate, but also slightly intrigue the demon.

"Not even you."

With that, Eren drew his swords that were encased in his gear and prepared himself for battle.

Authors Note:

Hey. So I planned to release this a couple of months ago, but things happened and I couldn't get in the mindset to work on this. Plus, other stuff had my attention so I needed to get myself invested in Attack on Titan and Fairy Tail again since it's been a while.

But anyways, here it is. My second Attack on Titan and Fairy Tail crossover. Unlike "Eren Jaeger vs Natsu Dragneel" this will be a full story with chapters. I plan to bring out the best of both stories while complimenting each other.

I don't know when I'll upload chapters. You all know about this problem, right? An author takes too long to post the next chapter and their readers have no heads up on anything, so they are left to wonder if they are still here or is the story dead. I won't let that happen. I can't promise when the next chapter will be out, but I guarantee that this story won't end up like many others. I want this done and brought to life as much as you and I want to produce more stories out there when this is completed.

Besides all that, I hope you like this first chapter. Chapter 2 won't be too long, but I need to straighten something out.

Also, I hope you appreciate the title I gave this story. Besides the misquoted quote at the beginning, it fits both series very well.
