Animal Crossing In Action: Dreams And Nightmares

Chapter 1: Enter The Guardian Of Dream

Several months after the diva of darkness, Natasha died, there were two humans named Vicki and Robert who lived happily in their normal island life in Triforce, especially they were happy together. Not because they lived next door, but they were in love with each other for two years. Robert was beginning to plant some pumpkin seeds and water them every single day. Vicki was collecting some acorns, pine cones, and maple leaves to craft some DIY items. When she looked at her hand, she saw the beautiful pearl ring she was wearing on her finger. It's the ring that Robert gave her after they were done making the fanmade movie. After Vicki was done collecting the materials, she started crafting the furniture.

"Looks like the summer is over, and the autumn is here already!" said Vicki excitedly. "Not that it matters, but nature is normal as always!"

"Yeah, you could say that again," said Robert, as he was walking towards Vicki while she was crafting the "autumn-themed" furniture. "But anyways, I planted some good pumpkins in my patch. Once they will grow bigger, I'll harvest them and share some to you, Vicki."

"Wow, really? Do you mean that? Thanks, Robert, I can't wait!"

Robert chuckled. "You know, I'll do anything for you, Vicki! You know me very well than anyone else in this world-err, I mean, this island, of course!"

"Yeah, I know!"

While Vicki and Robert were hanging out at the front yard, the three guardians were on top of one of the houses. One of them read the book, which Vicki found it on shore not too long ago, while the others were lost in thought for some reason.

"You know, there's something that really bugs me..." said the guardian of wisdom, whose name was Serena. "Back in summer, I overheard the duo mentioning about someone who was helping them to defeat Natasha and the Deadly Stars clan."

"Ah, is that so?" asked the guardian of courage, whose name was Neon. "Now that you mentioned it, neither of them could tell whether this 'someone' was a human or an animal."

"Well, as far as I'm concerned, I don't believe it's a human because no human could be that special, only Vicki and Robert were. So, that leaves down to the animal... Although, I couldn't help but to ponder this."

"But no ordinary animal can enter their dreams, now can they?"

"Sounds very impossible to them...Unless, that animal is not an ordinary one. If my hunch is correct, then only a certain animal has the power to visit their dreams?"

"Yes, but who was it exactly? That reminded me of someone we know in the past, but I can't laid a finger on who..."

While Serena and Neon were thinking over it, the guardian of power named Wisp started to blurt out the name for them. "Luna..." he mumbled softly, while he was reading a book.

"Uh, excuse me?" Neon asked.

"What did you just say, Wisp?" Serena asked. "We thought we heard you say something if we're not mistaken..."

Wisp immediately closed the book and said, "About what you guys said before, that really described Luna alright."

"So, do you know anything about Luna, Wisp?" Neon asked.

"Oh, how can you not know anything about her yet? I mean, seriously? I'm surprised at you both really!"

Wisp started to explain everything to Serena and Neon about Luna. According to him, it was revealed that Luna was the fourth spirit guardian. Not only she was the guardian of the dream, but the protector of the people's and animals' dreams. Neither Serena nor Neon were fully aware of that. If only they could've met her, then they would've known better. But unluckily for them, they hadn't seen her in ages.

"Well, I wonder how Luna was doing right now," said Serena, as she was starting to ponder. "We haven't seen her in a very long time..."

"Wherever she is, I'm very sure she'll be fine by now," said Neon, reassuring Serena.

"I'm hoping that we'll meet her again someday..." said Wisp, being confident.

Meanwhile, Vicki and Robert were raking the leaves and making them into one big pile. After that, they sat down on the bench and drank some tea. Suddenly, they met their two awkward neighbors who happened to know each other in a long time back in the town of StarLily. They were the twin brothers, Sammy and Jimmy, also known as the Slapjack brothers.

"Hey guys, working hard much?" Sammy asked.

"Yes, we definitely are!" Vicki replied. "Speaking of which, I haven't seen either of you doing anything at all."

"Just leave them be, Vicki," said Robert. "Let them do whatever they want with their hearts' content."

"Yeah, you heard the island representative here, Silverwing!" said Jimmy. "We can do whatever we want in this island for the entire lifetime!"

Robert immediately interrupted and continued speaking in his own rightful mind. "...Besides, all they did was doing something crazy, and their plans or ideas always ended up with the total failure every single day!"

Sammy and Jimmy glared at Robert in daggers as their smiles were turned upside down. They never agreed of what he was saying. Vicki immediately started to burst with laughter that she couldn't control it and hid it from the Slapjack twins.

"Hey, it's not that we're planning on something mischief, you know!" Sammy argued.

"Yeah, we're not scheming something ridiculous every day!" Jimmy agreed. "I mean, come on!"

"Oh, really now?" Vicki shrugged. "Then, suit yourselves!"

Sammy and Jimmy continued walking as they ignored their neighbor's ranting until one of the twins got tripped and quickly hung on to another. They immediately got crashed onto a big pile of leaves that Vicki and Robert worked so hard raking them. There were some leaves all over the twins, especially they were stuffed in their mouths. Vicki sighed heavily and shook her head in disbelief, while Robert started to grumble and scratch his head miserably that would make his hair all messed up.

"Now, look what you guys did!" Robert argued. "Vicki and I worked so hard raking the leaves to clear up our yard!"

"Hey, you don't have to blame us for that, Goldstein!" Sammy argued.

"Yeah, it wasn't our fault though!" Jimmy agreed.

"It really is your own fault, you clumsy twins!" said Robert angrily, as he handed the two rakes to Sammy and Jimmy. "Here! Clean up all the fallen leaves and make sure you have to make them into a big pile!"

"Why dumped the dirty work on us, Mr. Island Representative?" Sammy asked. "Why don't you and your girlfriend clean them up again for yourselves?"

"Yeah, you can't make us do the dirty work like this, you know!" Jimmy complained.

"Hey, you two were the ones who made this mess in the first place!" Vicki argued.

Four neighbors were arguing in a short while about the mess Sammy and Jimmy made. Two neighbors forced the another two to rake the leaves until they were neatly done. Sammy and Jimmy returned the rakes to Robert and went straight to their home grumbling behind their neighbors' backs.

"Well, that takes care of that..." Robert sighed. "I have to say, those twins haven't changed a bit, now have they?"

"Not at all, I'm afraid..." said Vicki in disbelief.

Later at night, Vicki fell asleep and started to have a dream. She was in a dream realm where she had been there before with Robert. When they first encountered the mysterious figure, she was like the alliance to them. Since Vicki was in her dream mode, she became a different person who was known as Phantom Angel. Then, she noticed that there's another person who was dressed like a knight who wore a feather hat and the golden cape. She knew who it was; it was Masked Swordmaster, Robert's hero form.

"Well, this is a surprise..." Masked Swordmaster murmured.

"I know, but this is kind of random alright..." Phantom Angel muttered. "So, what now?"

Masked Swordmaster shrugged. "Eh, no clue..."

While the dynamic duo looked around their surroundings, someone stepped in from the fog right behind them. When they turned around, they met the same mysterious figure who happened to help them to defeat their enemy, Natasha and her clan, the Deadly Stars several months ago. As soon as she revealed herself, she appeared to be an animal which it turned out to be a tapir. She has dark blonde hair tied in a bun with three white flowers, wore a white and pink dress, and the dark red pumps.

"Hello, Duo of Justice, allow me to introdue myself," said the kind tapir. "My name is Luna, I'm the spirit guardian of dream."

"Ah, it's nice to meet you..." said Phantom Angel surprisingly.

"It's very surprising that the unknown figure is actually the fourth guardian this whole time!" said Masked Swordmaster enthusiastically.

"Well, I do apologize for not revealing myself in the first place..." said Luna apologetically. "But I had to conceal myself for a little while until now."

"It's fine, Luna..." said Phantom Angel. "But thanks for your help, we really appreciated it!"

"Yeah, if it weren't for you, then we were out of options and the world woud've been doomed!" said Masked Swordmaster.

"I thank you both kindly," said Luna. "For now, allow me to give you the gifts."

"Uh, gifts?" said the dynamic duo in curiosity, as they started to blink their eyes at the same time.

Before Luna could explain, she gathered up her power and gave it to the Duo of Justice. Once their powers were combined with hers, their transformation items had evolved into different and more powerful that they never felt before. Phantom Angel's microphone has changed its appearance. It was platinum pink, has the crystal clear ball with the winged-heart and halo, and the silver button below it. Masked Swordmaster's wristband also changed its appearance as well. It was a ten-pointed star on a round, golden charm with the platinum wristband. The dynamic duo checked out their newly transformation items Luna upgraded with her own power.

"This is looking cool!" said Phantom Angel excitedly.

"Yeah, it's looking amazing if I do say so myself!" said Masked Swordmaster proudly.

"I granted you both some special powers that you never have before," Luna explained. "I upgraded your transformation items so your appearances, you are in right now, will change into your new looks."

"New looks, huh?" Phantom Angel murmured.

"Yes, that's right. Whenever you want to transform, just say 'dreamy rescue action' after your first word. You will see it for yourselves, young heroes."

"Okay, we will keep that one in mind," said Masked Swordmaster. "Thank you, Luna."

"Anytime now...Until then, we will meet again sooner or later. Farewell to both of you..."

After the Duo of Justice met up with Luna in the dream realm, she disappeared into the fog and the dream came to the end. Vicki immediately woke up and rose up from her bed. She reached out her transformation microphone and noticed that it was slightly different. Because Luna had already upgraded her microphone, this was proof that it was actually real.

When Robert woke up, he stretched out his arms and spotted his transformation wristband on one of his wrists. He noticed that it looked very different now due to Luna's power. He looked through the window and listened to the rustling wind.

Somewhere in the dark place, possibly called the shadow realm, there was a woman with a very long black hair and wore a black dress. She smacked her dark red lips and grinned as she gazed above with her red eyes. She looked over the black bat, which it flew down and landed on her shoulder.

"Well, is it time to get started?" asked the bat.

"Yes, Noir, it is about time..." the woman answered.

"Excellent! It's time to hunt down some dream life forces! What's our first move, Noelle?"

The woman named Noelle looked behind her where all the gazes of the demonic red eyes flashed right in front of her. She grinned and chuckled evilly as the time was right for her alliance to take action. Noelle and her mysterious team started to cackle out loud, including the bat named Noir. No one would know what tricks they had in their sleeves at the very moment.
