From the Author – Howdy those of you who were probably expecting me to write another chapter for a different story, those are in the works but I just had to write something else to cheer me up lol I recently got back into yugioh, and had this story in my mind for some time but never wanted to write it down because of all the stories I'm still writing and trying to keep track of.

But I promise my next chapter I write will be for my other 3 fics, Second XCOM Viper, Pack of Destiny and Life, and Arceus' Book. Heart of Gazelle and Humanity is taking a break since I spent too much effort on it instead of my others… sorry those of you who were and still are waiting, I promise I will write for the others after this chapter T.T

But I had to write this because there aren't any Dragonmaid YGO fanfics, lemons or otherwise. With that said… let's start the story, of the 'Young Master of the Dragonmaids'

=Prologue, the Maid from the House=

He sat patiently in the back seat of an old pickup truck, on his way with his grandfather to a small retirement home that said grandfather bought years ago to live in now that he was over sixty years old. He sighed as they rolled up a dirt road to the small two-bedroom house on the outskirts of the town of Domino, in his briefcase were all his belongings that he'd kept from his old home and everything else that his mother could leave him was in a box in the back trunk. He was lucky at least that his grandfather at least loved him enough to volunteer to take care of him, his father had all but abandoned him, not that he considers him his father.

"He we are Joseph, home sweet home." His grandfather said warmly as they stopped.

"It looks nice." He told him quietly.

His grandfather looked at him with a knowing expression as he patted his shoulder. "I know, it's hard to get over the loss of your mother… I'm just sorry my son doesn't consider you his son." He told him. "I tried to convince him to do the right thing… but…"

"It's alright grandpa, so where will I be sleeping?"

"I've set your room up on the second floor Joseph, I think you'll like it but if you have any objections or problems… let me know."

He nodded as he picked up his briefcase while his grandfather went to unload the box and went inside. The inside was cozy enough, and he walked up the stairs without taking in any sights, but as he reached the topflight of stairs and saw the door with his name on it, and even a happy smile face drawn on it, he saw the door open and out stepped a woman with black hair, light blue eyes, a pair of glasses and what looked like a European maid's outfit. She turned to him as she too was carrying a briefcase, and smiled in surprise at him, before bowing to him with her eyes closed and saying, "Hello there, young sir, I'm sorry if I'm in your way, I was just about to leave."

"Oh, it's alright… do you live here or…"

"Not anymore, I only stayed with your grandfather while as his home's tenant and caretaker." She said in a warm, soothing and gentle tone. "Here, allow me to open the door for you."

With that she opened the door and showed him the inside of his new room, it was spacy enough for a 10-year-old kid who just recently lost his mother, and his former home. There was a bed, a desk and chair, window showing a view of Domino, where in the distance he could see the Kaiba Corp Tower. "Wow, this place looks nice." He said as he looked around, until he saw a card poking out from under the bed. "Hey what's this?"

He put his briefcase down and picked up the card to look at it.

[House Dragonmaid, LVL 9, Light attribute Dragon type Fusion/Effect Monster, 3000 Atk, 2000 Def.]

"Hey… is this your card?" He asked, handing it to her with one hand, but she smiled and shook her head without even looking at it.

"I'm afraid young master that I'm no duelist and I do not own any cards." She said warmly, but she knelt down and planted his other hand over it, and said even more warmly, almost 'lovingly', "You should however keep this card with you at all times… it will bring you good luck and will serve you well."

"But… I can't even summon it." He said as he looked at the conditions required to summon it. "The only cards I have are weak hand-me-downs that other kids threw away; how can I use it?"

She just smiled, knelt closer and did something he wasn't expecting.

She hugged him, pulling him close against her and whispering, "Believe me… that card will be your shadow, and your light… take care of it, and never let anyone ever touch it. That card is yours and yours alone… treasure it, love it, take care of it… like you would treasure, love, and take care of your precious mother. Just as she did for you…"

"My mother… you knew my mother?" He asked as she pulled away and stood up.

"Only from your grandfather… but she sounded like a lovely woman." She said sadly, but still having that warm comforting smile.

He nodded as he looked at the card again and noticed something about the card compared to the woman. "Hey, you kind of look like her… you could almost be her."

She chuckled in response, not to make fun of him but because she found it complementing. "Yes, I kind of do look like the House Dragonmaid now that you mention it… but as you see I don't have a tail, or horns or those wings." She spoke. "Well, I have to go, I have coworkers to meet at a local café in town. Take care of yourself young Joseph and remember to take care of that card. Keep it with you at all times, and always remember it will be there whenever you need it."

With that she walked out of the room, leaving him alone with his belongings. Suddenly he remembered he never got her name, and ran out to try and catch her, but she was gone, the only one outside was his grandfather who had just finished bringing in his box of belongings.

"Grandpa, did you see where that woman went?" He asked, looking around to see if she was nearby, but there wasn't anyone else around."

"Hmm, no I don't think I have seen any women recently." He said, before grinning and saying, "Was she very pretty, I'm suuuure I can find her faster if you give me her figures!"

Not getting his joke, he held out the card she told him to hold onto and said, "She kind of looks like this card!"

His grandpa looked down and his joking smile faded into one of genuine joy. "I see, so you have that card huh?" He muttered before shaking his head. "I'm afraid she doesn't live here anymore grandson… but may I ask where you got that card?"

"Uh, I found it in my room. She opened the door and I saw it lying under the bed, she said it wasn't hers and told me to keep it. Is it yours by any chance?"

"No… I'm afraid it isn't mine." He said quietly. "Well, as the saying goes… finders' keepers. That card belongs to you Joseph, take very good care of it like she said… it's a very special card."

"You're telling me, this is the strongest card I've ever seen… but I can't summon it…" He said sadly as he looked at the card again.

"You will someday, until then, keep it with you and never let it out of your sight." His grandfather said. "Now how about we celebrate you moving in with some pizza! If you take your box, I'll order it right away."

"Alright!" Joseph said as he ran back into the house, taking his box of belongings.

His grandfather however smiled proudly as he realized where the card came from, and why it was now in his hands. "I see you've made your choice; I can only imagine how my son will react when he learns who will be inheriting those cards." He muttered to himself. "You chose well 'Sheou'…"

=Chapter 1, The Dragonmaid Duelist=

Joseph finished combing his hair as he dressed in his casual clothes, looking at himself in the mirror. Despite how much his hair kind of resembled the famous Seto Kaiba's, his hair was slightly longer in the back and stuck out more in the front, and of course it was much darker, bordering on black. His eyes were still green, and now that he was over sixteen years old, he was finally ready to try and pursue his dream as a professional duelist!

"Alright, today is the day!" He said proudly, reaching down and opening his deck case to look at the deck he was going to be using. "Girls, we're going to the big leagues, okay maybe not the big leagues, but no more duels on the sidewalk with our café's patron's children on simple playmats. Today we're going to be dueling 'real' duelists."

He looked at each of his cards, their smiling, beautiful pictures almost grinning and smiling back at him, as if they were in agreement and couldn't wait for the big moment either.

He loved his cards, ever since he'd found the first card for his deck, which he looked at from the top of the deck.

[House Dragonmaid, LVL 9, Light attribute Dragon type Fusion/Effect Monster, 3000 Atk, 2000 Def.]

He smiled sadly as he looked at it, the memories coming back even after six years.

One year after his grandfather took him in, he suffered a heart attack, and sadly died while he was sleeping in his room. The doctors arrived too late to save him, and once again Joseph was without a home…

Until a woman approached him with an offer to take in and raise him, the same woman that he'd met leaving his grandfather's home. She offered him room and board where she and her fellow coworkers worked and lived, a café in Domino, known as the 'Maids of the Dragons Café'. He worked and lived there while going to school, working part time at night taking orders and helping the girls out when they needed him.

He also learned the woman's name, Sheou, but she never gave him her last name, just telling him to call her Sheou. The others also said similarly, telling him to only call them by their work names, Kite, Luna, Lora, Amber and Sun. While life was hard at times for him, since he'd lost his mother and grandfather, those girls always cheered him up and always were there when he needed them.

A knock on the door sounded and in burst, who else, but Kite the café's full time cook and 'Kitchen Maid', with her long flaming red hair as she barged in without him saying she could come in. "Hiiiiiiiii Joseph, today's the big day!" She yelled eagerly, and pulled him into a hug, pressing her bust against his face. "Today's when you finally get into Duel Academy!"

"M gvla vur vhppy vfr mve bvut I canf breev…" he muttered into her chest. (I'm glad you're happy for me but I can't breathe.)

"Kite let him go your suffocating him again!" Lora, the lime-green curly hair colored door answerer and 'Parlor Maid' said as she came in and pulled him off. "He won't get in if you suffocate him!"

"Oh, relax girl, I'm just giving him my super-duper ultra-mega encouragement hug!"

A moment later a plate stacked with pancakes, sausages, a boiled egg, two slices of bacon, buttered toast, some scrambled eggs and a glass of milk balancing on a light blue head of hair floated in, which belonged to the 'Laundry Maid' of the cafe, with a happy but obviously overworked smile accompanying it. "Joseph, your entrance exam breakfast is ready!" Luna said as she planted the plate down on his desk and expertly swiping the glass of milk before it could spill, depositing it on the desk next to his breakfast. "Eat up, you need all your strength and energy to pass!"

"Thanks Luna but… I don't think I can eat all of that…" He muttered embarrassingly eyeing the food.

These girls always made too much for him, no matter how much he insists that he can't possibly finish it all they always say he needs to eat everything for his health. Though he is surprised that despite how much he eats, he never seems to get fat.

After a moment in which he took a bite of toast, not wanting to put their work to waste, Sun walked in, the pink haired, cheery but shy lady that served as the café's full-time 'Nurse Maid' walked in and said, "One last temperature check Joseph, don't want you getting a cold on your big day and ruining your chances to pass!" She said warmly.

"I'm perfectly fine Sun." He said, but she was already feeling his forehead and checking his temperature.

"We just want you to be at your best Joseph, you can't help it if your big sisters love you that much." Amber said, with her long light blond hair trailing behind her as she walked in with a grin, while also holding a dust brush.

As the 'Chamber Maid' for the café she was often the first to visit his room to clean things up, often saying she prioritizes 'masters' over 'mistresses' as is her duty, though he has yet to actually see her go into the other girl's rooms in his five years living with them.

Naturally, chaos ensued as they all vied for his attention, Kite trying to hug the daylights out of him, Lora trying to keep Kite from smothering him, Luna trying to get him to eat more, Sun attempting to get his temperature, and Amber laughing in the background while she cleaned the dust from the corners of the room.

Until a series of smacks cleared the air around him, allowing him to see 'Sheou' with her gentle smile, but unnaturally 'angry' aura behind her. "How many times do I have to repeat myself, it is 'inappropriate' for so many maids to be within a young master's room at this hour…" She said in a dangerously calm tone, while what appeared to be a 'dragon-like' visage appeared behind her.

Strangely enough he never seemed affected by it and wondered why he could even see it to begin with, while the girls cowered at the head lady of the place.

"We'reee sorry… don't be angry…" Lora, Kite, Sun, Luna and Amber all squealed in fear."

"If you all have time to lollygag and goof around, YOU HAVE TIME TO GET BACK TO WORK!" She screamed as she pointed at the door, and instantly the room was cleared as all the girls fled to do their jobs before opening the café for the day. "Those five… what will I ever do with them."

"It's alright Sheou, they were just trying to help me get ready for my entrance exam." He said as he ate his scrambled eggs and drank his milk. "And honestly I welcomed the distraction, I was feeling a little nervous about dueling today."

She smiled back as she nodded and walked over to his bed, making it for him while he ate before moving onto him and combing his hair to perfection. After she was done and he finally finished eating, she dusted his clothes of any leftover food, straightened his clothes, and looked again at him with a proud smile. "You've worked hard for this day Joseph, today you finally get to enter Duel Academy. As your caretaker I am very proud of you and wish you luck."

"Yea I hope, and thanks for ordering that custom Duel Disk." He said as he looked at the Duel Disk, he'd had custom designed specifically for him.

He'd spent his savings on the custom design, a black and white duel disk with custom draconic wing-like appendages, similar to his House Dragonmaid card.

"I only did what you asked me to do, you did all the work yourself in earning the money 'and' designing it." She said as she picked up the disk and checked the batteries for him, before pulling out a small wipe to remove any lingering dust that dared cling to it, and finally presenting it to him. "Do you feel ready to take the entrance exam today Joseph?"

"Feel ready… I hope I am, but I'm as ready as I'll ever be!" He said proudly as he slipped the disk on and posed. "How do I look?"

She smiled proudly at him as she took in his image, "Like the proud master of the Dragonmaids… whom if they don't leave soon will be late to their entrance exam and won't get into Duel Academy like they've been talking about this entire time, and will be forced to go to Community Duel College until 'next' year's entrance exams."

At that he snapped to the clock and saw that she was right, the entrance exams started 'two hours' ago, he'd spent all morning getting ready and now he was going to be late! "I'm ganna be laaaaaaaaate!" He screamed as he grabbed his deck box, his jacket, and ran out the door.

Sheou however, smiled proudly as he left, before whispering, "You will pass Joseph… believe in yourself, as we believe in you." While a tail, a pair of horns, and draconic wings sprouted from parts of her body. "We'll be there when you need us, and we'll be there when you call upon us. We are your shadows, your lights, your friends, all that you wish… as you are our young master. Thus, the pact, between your family… and we the Dragonmaids."

With that, she vanished from the room, in a cascade of light.

Meanwhile with Joseph, he was running as fast as his feet could go, running through the street as he took care not to trip or drop his cards and duel disk. "It's a half hour run to the exam place, and the cutoff period is in about that time!" He screamed as he turned a corner down the street. "I swear, it's a good thing I'm not a student… at least they can't expel me for being late!"

After half an hour of running he saw the building, and heard over the intercom, [Last call for all academy applicants, if you have not checked in for your exam, please do so now.]

He ran through the maze of metal fences toward where they were accepting applicants, and reached it, exhausted, tired, and flustered, but saying, "Joseph… Takara… applicant… one-six-five… sorry if I'm late!"

"You're just in time, we were about to mark all no shows as no shows." The man said as the ladies signed him up. "Proceed into the stadium and wait for your name to be called young man."

He nodded and walked in, sweating, both from how hard he ran and how nervous he was. But once inside he was stunned as he looked at all of the academy students who were already there and watching the applicants in their test duels. There were a few students who seemed to have passed and were still there, but there were also several duels taking place. Looking around he saw one seat occupied by a young guy, slightly shorter than him with blue spikey hair and looking crestfallen. He stepped over and asked, "Is this seat taken?"

"Huh, oh no, you can take it if you want." He replied.

Sitting down he looked at the closest duel taking place nearest them, where one applicant wearing a white sweater and black hair was staring defiantly with a Vorse Raider in attack mode, one card face down, and 3100 life points against a duel proctor with both a Big Shield Gardna and Gear Golemn the Moving Fortress in defense mode and with 1900 life points.

"Alright new guy, multiple choice… you got two monsters staring you down, do you 'A' throw in the towel, 'B' Beg for mercy, or 'C' run home to mama!"

"I'll go with D, none of the above." He shouted and activated his face down card.

The face down card was a trap card, which the proctor asked about in surprise.

"That's right, you see with Ring of Destruction I can destroy any monster on the field that's in attack mode, and then we both take damage equal to that monster's attack points." He said with a smirk.

As he said, the ring of destruction wrapped around the neck of his Vorse Raider, and then exploded, causing both players life points to drop by 1900 points, but while he ended with 1300, the proctor had 0.

"Clever move applicant, welcome to the academy."

"Thank you oh wise proctor." He said humbly, bowing to his opponent in respect."

"Wow, blowing up his own monster to defeat his opponent… I never would've thought of that move." He muttered in surprise.

"Yea he's Bastion Misawa, they say he got the highest score of the written exam of all us applicants." The kid next to him said.

"No kidding… I passed but, I was more in the middle of the pack, lower half of the middle pack mind you." He told him honestly.

"Me too, but I barely passed, my name's Syrus by the way, nice to meet you." He said before looking away at the floor. "I kind of have this thing where I get test anxiety, I have no idea how I won 'my' match."

"Hey, at least you're in… and that's all that matters." He said encouragingly. "If you pass with an A, a B, a C or even a C-, you still pass in my book. So that's all that counts, and as far as I'm concerned that's worth celebrating! I hope I win my duel so I can go to Duel Academy too."

"You haven't dueled yet, then you may be in trouble… this was supposed to be the last batch of applicants."

At that his world fell around him. "ARE YOU SERIOUS!?" He screamed in panic.

"You may want to go find someone to talk to about your duel."

"Oh man, is there someone I can talk to… a proctor, a referee, a professor, some old guy named Jeb?"

"An old guy named 'Jeb'?" A new voice asked, who turned out to be Bastion. "Haven't heard of that one before, where's it come from?"

"It's some stupid saying a girl I know says, she always says, 'look for an old guy named Jeb when you need to find something, there's always some old guy named Jeb who knows what you're looking for'!" He told him. "By the way nice to meet you Bastion, I'm Joseph Takara, sorry for not telling you my name when you gave me yours by the way Syrus… my apologies I'll make it up to you later I promise~!"

Bastion however chuckled at his antics and rushed apology, even if he felt it wasn't needed, no harm no foul.

Down with the proctors sat Doctor Crowler, who was looking at the final group of candidates as they finished their duel exams, and was deciding to call it quits, happy and disappointed with the current crop of applicants. He'd seen enough flunkies and failures, with a few promising candidates for Duel Academy to know how the year was going to turn out. With that he began organizing his papers to get ready to leave, until one proctor walked up to him and said, "Uh pardon me Mr. Crowler for interrupting, but there's one last applicant that has arrived to take their exam."

"Did you call me 'Mr'?" He asked in annoyance.

"Oh uh, sorry I'm new here Mrs…"

"I have a PHD in dueling, I've earned the title 'Doctor' thank you, now go and tell the truant that he'll just have to come back next year."

"Oh, come on Doctor Crowler we have time for one more."

"Give the kid his chance, he technically arrived before the cutoff period at least, even if it was only by a minute or two."

"Yea give him his shot."

He growled in frustration to himself, but relented, they 'had' a point. If this slacker however thinks he can slide into HIS illustrious Duel Academy at the last second then this flunkie will have another thing coming. "Fine… we'll give him his shot… but ONLY because he arrived 'on time', and ONLY because of that reason. He's lucky he arrived on a technicality and not late or else I would say no." He said. "Pardon me gentlemen I will be right back."

"But who will be his dueling proctor, and which exam deck will they use?"

"Oh, leave that to me, I'll handle it." He said as he walked off, smirking inside as he patted his inside pocket where he kept his personal dueling deck.

Meanwhile, back with Joseph, Syrus and Bastion, they were admiring Joseph's duel disk and how it was a custom design. "Where did you get that, it's almost criminal to duel with that thing. It looks like a piece of art you'd put on display." Bastion said, admiring the handywork.

"I saved up three years working at a café while still in elementary school to purchase it." He told them.

"You worked during school, isn't that against the rules or something?" Syrus asked.

"Well… sort of… but I kind of had to." He muttered sadly.

"Whys that?"

"It's complicated." He told Syrus, while Bastion looked at him with a curious expression.

[Joseph Takara, please report to exam field four.]

His heart skipped a beat as he realized that was his name, meaning the time had come to duel for 'reals'. "Wish me luck you two." He told them as he walked down.

With Syrus and Bastion, they both told him good luck, but Syrus said, "I wonder what was up with that, why would he need to work at his age?"

"Something tells me that it's a story best left to be told when he feels the time is right." Bastion said, "Though he 'is' going to need all the luck to pass his exam duel, just by looking at who he's dueling."

As Joseph stood on the platform and it prepared to rise, he gulped and pulled out his deck of cards, looking at his cards once more, their smiling, confident, potentially smirking expressions once again being his symbol of courage. He could always hear them, he could even hear them now, not telling a soul that his cards were speaking to him, out of fear of being seen as 'weird' for talking to his cards and believing they were real. But he honestly did, they felt real to him… like they were family to him, like his 'real' family back at the café.

They were telling him not to worry, that he's going to win. "I hope you are right…" He muttered as the platform rose.

On the field he looked around at all of the students and applicants watching him now from 'inside' of the field, and looked at his opponent to see...

"Alright… test time!" Crowler said. "So, son, your name?"

He gulped as he bowed respectfully and said "It's a pleasure to meet you sir… I'm Joseph Takara!"

"Well Joseph, I'm Doctor Vellian Crowler, Department Chair of Techniques here at Duel Academy."

"Wow… a 'doctor'… wait doesn't that mean you have a PHD, meaning you studied for twelve years?" He asked in awe. "That is so awesome, I hope someday I can get a PHD in dueling like you."

Crowler smiled a 'tad' at that, his level of respect for this applicant going up a notch because of the respect and admiration the boy showed to his PHD. "Study hard enough for long enough, and you may achieve it boy… but first you have to get past 'me' to get 'into' Duel Academy… let's begin." He declared, "Duel Vest 'on'."

He watched in amazement as the duel vest activated, shuffled his deck, and then handed him his cards automatically without actually having to activate any buttons or prompts. Meanwhile he inserted his deck and pushed the on button, and his duel disk's wings spread out and showed his life points, before giving him his own starting hand after it shuffled his deck.

[Joseph Takara – 4000 / Doctor Crowler – 4000]

He looked at his hand. "Not a bad turn one hand, not the best but not bad…"

[Laundry Dragonmaid, Dragonmaid Welcome, Monster Reborn, Dragonmaid Hospitality, Dragonmaid Downtime.]

He looked up and said, "Uh before we begin, may I ask where you got that duel vest? Not that I have anything against my own disk, but it looks really cool!"

"Oh, a lot of high marks and extremely hard work." Crowler said with a smirk. 'Of course you have to get 'into' Duel Academy first… and I'm going to make sure you have as hard a time as possible doing that."

"Well in that case, I'm ready to get started…" Joseph said confidently.

"LET'S DUEL!"

"LET'S DUEL!"

"Permission to start things off?" He asked to which Crowler nodded.

He drew his first card from his deck, [Dragonmaid Nudyarl, LVL 7, Water Attribute, Dragon Type Effect Monster, 2600 Atk,1600 Def]

He nodded as he looked at his hand, and it was like Nudyarl smiled and nodded back, telling him that he knew what to do. "Alright, I summon, Laundry Dragonmaid in attack mode!" He declared and planted the first card onto the field.

In a flash a young, cute maid with purple draconic tail, horns, a white and purple maid uniform and blue hair appeared, staring confidently as she looked at Crowler. 'I'm ready to go master…'

"Alright, and because Laundry Dragonmaid has been summoned successfully, I can activate her ability… which lets me send the top 3 cards from my deck to the graveyard!" He said as he took the top 3 cards and placed them in the grave slot and watched as they were sent.

[Dragonmaid Ernus, Pot of Greed, Dragonmaid Tidying.]

"Oh man… I wanted to keep Pot of Greed… bummer…" He muttered sadly.

'I'm sorry, I can't control which cards I send… maybe next time don't activate my ability?' Laundry said sadly, glancing back at him with a hurt expression in her eyes.'Please forgive me…'

"No harm done, but I plant one card face down, and activate… Dragonmaid Welcome!"

On the field a face down card appeared, and a face up Dragonmaid Welcome revealed itself.

"While Dragonmaid Welcome is active, all monsters on my field gain 100 attack and defense points, for each Dragonmaid on my field, and since Laundry is one, her points go up!"

[Laundry Dragonmaid, 500 ATK/1600 DEF – 600 Atk/1700 Def]

"With that, I end my turn…"

Up in the stands, Bastion's eyes narrowed as he observed the opening turn of the duel. "I have to say I am one hundred percent surprised; I've never seen these cards before in person."

"Wow… they're kinda cute." Syrus said.

"Maybe, but they're also extremely rare, the kind of rare on the par with that of the Blue Eyes White Dragons. I've only heard and read about these cards on forums and in duel booklets, but never actually saw them used in a duel personally or even virtually."

"Wait, they're that rare?" A girl's voice said behind them.

They looked back and saw two students looking at the duel with interest, a female student with blonde hair and an older student with blue hair like Syrus.

"Oh uh… hi brother…"

"Hello Syrus… so tell me, what do you know of these cards?" His brother said.

"Only that they're extremely rare, supposedly duelists far and wide have speculated they don't exist, and rich people have been trying to find them to add to their collection." Bastion said, returning to the duel. "They're a unique series of cards all based around dragons and maids, with the two being linked. The human forms while weak carry unique abilities alongside their dragon forms, but what makes them special is that they can transform into their dragon forms in a moment's notice, gaining incredible strength, and can switch back if needed. Supposedly the rumor about them, is that if played correctly, they are nigh invincible and cannot be destroyed."

"Well, this will be interesting, I've never seen those cards before, let's see how he handles them." The girl said with a smirk.

"Yes, but I wonder if he has 'that' card… the dragonmaids on their own are tough enough, but there is supposedly one card that makes the card list truly scary." Bastion said as Crowler began his turn.

"Well then boy, it's my turn." Crowler said as he drew his first card. 'And since I'm using my personal deck, instead of one of the test ones, I'll be the one calling the shots. I'll fail this boy if he isn't at the top of his game, and I'll make sure he has as hard a road as possible!'

[Ancient Gear Golem, Statue of the Wicked, Confiscation, Heavy Storm, Emes the Infinity, 'added' Statue of the Wicked.]

"Hmmm… I think I'll start off easy boy, with this… CONFISCATION!"

On the field a magic card appeared, causing Joseph to blink in surprise as he'd never seen that card before. "Okay uh, what does it do?"

"What it does is, for the low price of one thousand of my life points, I get to look at your hand and select one card from it, to discard to the graveyard!" Crowler declared as his life points changed.

[Joseph Katara - 4000 / Doctor Crowler – 3000]

"Alright boy, show me your hand!"

He gulped and planted all remaining cards onto the disk and showed him, with his current field replaced by the three remaining cards in his hand.

"I see, interesting… very interesting… I remember that card from my younger days… very well I'll destroy the one that matters most… Monster Reborn!"

He grimaced and nodded, sending Monster Reborn to the graveyard, and keeping Dragonmaid Hospitality and Nudyarl. 'There goes one of the few good ones I got from kids who threw away their cards at the café.'

"Now I play two cards face down…" He said, planting two facedown cards. "Next, I'll activate, Heavy Storm… this magic card lets me destroy all other spell and trap cards on the field."

The field erupted in a holographic whirlwind as all the face down cards and even Laundry Dragonmaid felt the fierce wind kick up. Suddenly his face down card was revealed, [Dragonmaid Downtime] and was promptly destroyed, alongside Dragonmaid Welcome, causing Laundry Dragonmaid to lose her attack and defense boost. But on the other side of the field, two trap cards were revealed and also destroyed in the storm.

"I don't get it, why destroy your own cards alongside of mine, wouldn't the smarter decision have been placing those two down 'after' activating heavy storm?" He called out in confusion.

'Master, I think those cards activated because of the storm!' Laundry told him in his mind as a smoky mist appeared on the field.

"For a novice you'd be right… except I 'wanted' them to be destroyed… and now you'll see why!" Crowler said with a grin as two Wicked monster tokens appeared on the field.

[Wicked Token, Fiend Type, Dark Attribute LVL 4, 1000 Atk/Def x2]

On the field Laundry Dragonmaid was looking mortified as the two tokens snarled and stared her down, while Joseph was wearing a grim expression on his face seeing the odds his monster was up against. In the stands the students were talking to themselves as they realized Crowler wasn't using a test deck but was using his own personal deck against this new rookie.

"I don't get it, can someone explain what just happened, how'd he get those two monsters on the field when he didn't summon anything?"

"The two trap cards he just destroyed were called Statue of the Wicked, a 'wicked nasty' trap card if you'll pardon the phrase, that upon being destroyed leave behind a Vicious Token on the field which acts like a monster. That is why he played heavy storm, not only did he clear the field of Joseph's cards, but he also summoned two monsters without having to give up anything."

"That is low, using his own deck against an applicant, he's practically trying to fail him before he has a chance." The girl said with a frown. "There is no way any of the test decks have those cards, this isn't fair at all."

"As low as it may be Alexis, if he can't handle Crowler's deck, then he won't last at the academy. I just hope we get to see Crowler's super rare card in action." Syrus' brother said, watching the duel with interest. "And also see how he reacts to it."

Back on the field Crowler was smirking as he made his next move. "And now boy, I sacrifice my two Wicked Tokens, to summon… my all-powerful Ancient Gear Golem!"

Planting the card on the field, a cascade of light erupted as a giant of metal and gears rose, as the two tokens vanished, with gears whirling and groaning as it rose to an enormous twelve feet. Laundry Dragonmaid however was looking like she was about to die as she stared at the mighty behemoth rising to stare her down, screaming silently in fear while Joseph looked even more grim at the monster he'd only read about in his spare time.

[Ancient Gear Golem, Lvl 8, Earth Attribute, Machine Type, Effect Monster, 3000 Atk, 3000 Def]

"Ready for your next lesson?" Crowler asked. "Because it's time to show you the power of my Ancient Gear Golem."

"I'm ready for anything you have to throw against me!" Joseph responded confidently. "The only way to see if I'm ready is to face whatever you have, so bring it on Doctor Crowler, cause my deck is 'ready', and so am I!"

Around the room everyone was gasping and gossiping in surprise, because of how little fear he was showing against Crowler's most powerful monster staring him down in the face, especially since his field was cleared and now, he only had a single weak monster standing between him and it.

"He's staring down that legendary rare monster with a brave act like he's been training his whole life for this. Well, even if he is only a rookie, youth and inexperience have their benefits after all I guess." Syrus' brother said.

"Give him some slack Zane, at least he's showing some backbone staring down that monster with only a six hundred attack point card." Alexis said.

Crowler smirked as he knew he had the applicant cornered, and laughed confidently as he said, "Alright Ancient Gear Golem Atta-huh?"

It wasn't hard to see why he stopped, as on the other side of the field, a now determined Laundry Dragonmaid began glowing, growing, and was suddenly replaced with a purple and light violet feathery dragon, with yellow eyes and horns, roaring in determination and smiling at him and his Ancient Gear Golem.

[Dragonmaid Nudyarl, Water Atribute, Dragon Type, Effect Monster Card, 2600 Atk, 1600 Def]

"How did you summon that card when it's still my turn, and at the start of my battle phase nonetheless?" He asked in confusion.

"It's 'because' it's the start of the battle phase that I can summon Nudyarl, while Laundry Dragonmaid is on the field, at the start of the battle phase, mine or yours, I can send her back to my hand and special summon Dragonmaid Nudyarl to the field in attack or defense position." He said proudly. "I can't stop your attack, but I can sure as heck minimize the damage I'll take from your monster. So go ahead and hit me with your best shot!"

Crowler sneered before smiling, he actually liked this boy a bit more now. If he had left Laundry Dragonmaid on the field, he would have suffered tremendous damage, but now with that Nudyarl on the field, even if he destroyed the dragon, Ancient Gear Golem will not be able to deal maximum damage to his life points. It may have been an unintended side effect of his monster's ability and his wish to minimize damage, but he'd pulled off a superb move to lure out his opponent's best monster and learn it's strengths and weaknesses for minimal losses.

"Well, you asked for it, so here it comes… Ancient Gear Golem, continue your attack… Mechanized Melee!"

Ancient Gear Golem pulled its arm back before throwing its mechanical fist forward, punching Nudyarl in the chest as she screamed in pain, before being destroyed, and an astral form of the Golem's fist collided with him, causing him to flinch in reaction. He looked back and whispered apologetically to Nudyarl, depositing her in the graveyard while his life points took a hit.

[Joseph Takara – 3600 / Doctor Crowler – 3000]

"So that's how they work, I read about how they act from forum posts and duel booklets, but to see them in action is another thing entirely." Bastion said. "If I recall, it doesn't matter if the dragon forms of the Dragonmaids are destroyed, so long as the human forms stay safe."

"Yea, that ability to go from a weak maid to a powerful dragon at a moment's notice is scary." Syrus said.

"Scary yes, but so far he hasn't landed a single hit against Crowler, he needs to get around that golem to have any hope of winning." Zane said.

"Maybe, but he doesn't look like he's down yet, in fact he looks ready to go back in." Alexis said with a smile as she watched the latest guy to duel.

Joseph grimaced as he drew his next card, while he sounded confident, he was actually not sure how to go about beating this Golem. He looked to his hand and looked at his new card. [Parlor Dragonmaid, Lvl 3, Wind Attribute, Dragon Type, Effect Monster, 500 Atk, 1700 Def]

"Dang, nothing personal Parlor but I was hoping for a trap card or something else to help me take on this Golem." He muttered. "I know you girls have faith in me, but I'm still a novice duelist at best, I'm nowhere near as good as this Doctor Crowler. He's got years of experience, he 'teaches' how to duel…"

To him it was like an astral form of Parlor appeared, nodding in understanding.

"Well, it can't hurt to play you two… I summon back to the field, Laundry Dragonmaid!" He declared, placing Laundry back on the field, summoning her onto the field again in attack mode. "And next I'll activate her ability again and send the top 3 cards from my deck to the grave!" He then took the three cards and began depositing them, "I just hope I don't lose cards I would have liked to keep…"

[Trap Hole, Dust Tornado, Dragonmaid Hospitality]

"Oh man… Laundry, you're killing me here girl…"

'I'm sorry… I can't control which ones I send… please forgive me…' She spoke telepathically to him, sounding extremely distressed.

"Well, nothing to it, but to do it… I play, Dragonmaid Hospility!" He called out, playing the hospitality card he'd kept in his hand.

[When the magic card, Dragonmaid Hospitality is played… you can special summon one 'Dragonmaid' Monster from your hand or graveyard in defense position, and then send one 'Dragonmaid' monster with the same attribute, but a different level, from your deck to the graveyard…]

"And now with this card, I special summon Parlor Dragonmaid!" He said, summoning out a greed haired, green horned, green tailed girl with draconic feet and in a black and white maid outfit.

She smirked as she finished summoning, before grimacing in disgust at the Ancient Gear Golem standing against them. 'Ugh, no offense master, but I would not want to open the door for that thing, even if it were a paying customer.'

"Focus girl, now I activate the secondary effect of Dragonmaid Hospitality, and I send Dragonmaid Lorpar to the graveyard." He said as her dragon form was pulled out from the deck and then placed into the graveyard. "With that I end my turn."

Almost instantly he realized he made a mistake, as Parlor glanced back at him with a shocked expression. 'Master, you forgot to activate my special ability, 'again'!'

"Oh crap… I forgot I coulda sent one of my Dragonmaid cards to the graveyard with your ability…" He muttered sheepishly. "Sorry…"

'It's not master's fault Parlor, he's just overwhelmed by dueling professionals and in front of a huge crowd… forgive him…' Laundry said apologetically.

'Oh… you know I can never get angry at him Laundry… just try to remember next time please master?'

"Are you quite done talking to yourself over there… because if you are… its my turn." Crowler said in slight annoyance, always hating how attached new duelists were to their cards, often talking to them. He drew his next card and decided instead of just attacking right away, he'd play it safer by giving his Golem an edge. "I play the continuous magic card, Ancient Gear Castle!"

He placed the newly drawn card onto the field, causing an ancient castle with gears and cannons to appear behind him, and both Laundry and Parlor to stare with determined expressions as they readied themselves for the upcoming onslaught.

'He has no more cards in his hand, no other cards on the field besides those two weak Dragonmaids. He's still a novice however, because while he summoned one in defense mode, he left the 'weaker' one in attack mode. Even with my Gear Golem's ability, I can deal far more damage going for the attack mode monster than wasting my attack on the defender. Now that I've increased Golem's power, he'll lose most of his life points with my next attack.'

"With this magic card in play, all of my ancient gear monsters gain 300 attack points… and now I'm going to use all of those points with Ancient Gear Golem." He yelled confidently.

[Ancient Gear Golem, 3000 Atk, 3000 Def – 3300 Atk, 3000 Def]

"Now… Ancient Gear Golem Atta-what?!"

Both Laundry and Parlor smirked as their bodies began glowing, and growing, and both were replaced with their Dragon Forms, with Parlor's now being a feminine, emerald-green draconic monster, with scaly green armor, green horns, and light-yellow eyes with a whitish-green feathery underside.

[Dragonmaid Nudyarl, Water Atribute, Dragon Type, Effect Monster Card, 2600 Atk, 1600 Def]

[Dragonmaid Lorpar, Wind Atribute, Dragon Type, Effect Monster Card, 2700 Atk, 1700 Def]

"How did you summon those two when both cards were in the graveyard?" He asked in surprise.

"It's because they're in my graveyard that I can special summon them, you see, the Dragonmaids are able to go into their Dragon Forms, as long as said dragon forms are in my hand 'or' my graveyard." He said with a confident grin as both Dragonmaids landed in defense mode to shield him. "So even if you destroy them, as long as their human forms are in my hand, their dragon forms can come back to the field every turn!"

At that the crowd began talking even more loudly, and some began talking about Crowler's 'elite status' as a duelist.

"Wow, so 'that's' why you said the Dragonmaid cards if played correctly are almost invincible." Alexis said with a surprised but 'pleased' smile. "Talk about a move the great Doctor Crowler didn't know."

"Nobody can be expected to know every move, Alexis." Zane said sternly, but even he had to admit, it was interesting to see Crowler surprised by a novice duelist.

"Not to mention nobody else uses these cards, I've never seen a duelist with them besides him before today… this is extraordinarily lucky of us to be able to see them in action here with our own eyes." Bastion said. "But there's still 'one' card I want to see, if he has that card then we'll learn just how dangerous the Dragonmaid cards truly are."

"I hope he has it, because it looks like Crowler is about to lay a smack down on his dragons." Syrus said nervously.

"So, you have two dragons, that changes nothing, Ancient Gear Golem ATTACK!" Crowler yelled as he ordered his mighty beast. "Mechanized MELEE, target the blue one!"

Ancient Gear Golem nodded as it pulled its fist back, and then launched it at Nudyarl, who screamed in pain as she was once again blown up by the golem. However instead of the attack ending there, the holographic fist of the golem continued on and struck him again, and he watched in shock as his life points took a nosedive.

"What's going on, why are my life points dropping, I thought my monster was in defense mode?"

Crowler smirked at that, "Well boy you made your first mistake against me, you see, my Ancient Gear Golem has a special ability of its own. If my Golem ever attacks a monster in defense mode, and my golem's attack points are stronger than your monster's defense points, then the difference between them is dealt to you as damage. It's a common mistake, don't feel bad about it."

[Joseph Takara – 1900 / Doctor Crowler – 3000]

"Not good." He muttered.

'This is bad master; we can't defend you against that behemoth.' Lorpar said in fear as she stood her ground. 'We need help fast!'

"And I know just who to call!" He yelled and said, "I activate Lorpar's ability, now that the battle phase is ending, she goes back to my hand and Parlor Dragonmaid takes her place in defense mode!"

Lorpar nodded and vanished, replaced by her small human maid form, kneeling in front of him with her arms crossed to indicate she was in defense mode.

"And since she was successfully summoned, I am now permitted to send one Dragonmaid Card from my deck… to my graveyard, as long as it's not Parlor Dragonmaid!" He said as he looked to his deck, and a single card was selected. "And I choose to send… Dragonmaid 'Changeover!"

Crowler scowled as he watched that, he had no idea what these 'Dragonmaid' Cards were all about, having never dueled 'any' duelist with them. This was actually his first time dueling these cards, he's never needed to plan for them because what are the odds that the one duelist who 'has' these cards would actually apply and take a test exam here? Still, he smiled, he was thoroughly impressed with how this novice was acting. He may be inexperienced, a little rough around the edges, and nervous in front of a crowd… but he had the potential, all he needed was a good teacher to mold him.

"But first he needs to beat me, and I have no intention of making it easy on him." He muttered. "I end my turn, and if you want to have any hope of passing, you had better make this turn work, because my next attack is going to send you packing off to Duel Community College!"

He grimaced as he drew his next card, [Draining Shield.]

"That could help, but there's only one card I can call on that can save me now." He muttered as he looked to his two Dragonmaid monsters in his hand and the one on the field.

Parlor nodded and an astral Laundry appeared to nod in agreement.

"First thing's first, I play Laundry Dragonmaid in attack mode!" He declared, and Laundry came back looking determined. "Next, I activate the ability of Dragonmaid Changeover, now by selecting a Dragonmaid I control I can put Dragonmaid Changeover from my graveyard and back into my hand, but the monster I pick goes back to my hand in exchange! And I choose, Laundry Dragonmaid!"

Laundry and Parlor looked at one another and nodded in unison, then Laundry vanished as her card was taken back into his hand, and Dragonmaid Changeover was extracted from the graveyard as the price had been paid.

"Now, I 'play' Dragonmaid Changeover, and thanks to this card, I can fusion summon one Dragon type fusion monster from my extra deck, so long as it meets the requirements, and this requires one Dragonmaid monster, and one Dragon type monster!" He shouted as he held out both Laundry Dragonmaid, and Dragonmaid Lorpar. "And guess what, Dragonmaid monsters are 'both', so I fuse Lorpar and Laundry, to summon… House Dragonmaid!"

Next to Parlor a glowing cascade of lights appeared, and a draconic visage appeared, which coalesced and took on the form of a tall woman with a long flowing black and white maid outfit that reached down to her feet, with light blue eyes, wearing glasses, had a long black/red/white diamond pattern draconic tail, draconic wings sprouting from her wrists, draconic like gauntlets and black draconic horns to match with her dark hair which curled behind her head in a bundle. Parlor bowed respectfully as she fully appeared, smiled calmly and stared at the Ancient Gear Golem before them.

[House Dragonmaid, Lvl 9, Light Attribute, Dragon Type, Fusion/Effect Monster, 3000 Atk, 2000 Def]

"Wow, she looks so elegant." Syrus said in awe.

"That's the monster, the one that makes the Dragonmaids a true force to be reckoned with, so he 'does' have the full deck." Bastion said in amazement.

"I don't get it, why is she so special compared to the others, does she have a dragon form like the others. Cause if you ask me, she's not going to be enough to take on Crowler's Rare Golem, especially since it's got that attack boost from Ancient Castle." Alexis said, but she had to admit that House Dragonmaid was scary strong, and just in her human form. "At least House is an upgrade, she easily trumps the other Dragonmaids even in their dragon forms."

"Let's watch and see, I have a feeling that card is about to change things around." Zane said quietly. "There's no reason to hold back at this point, his entrance to Duel Academy is on the line, summoning a monster that can't win him the duel is pointless unless he 'wants' to fail."

Crowler smiled a little as he saw the incredibly powerful monster the boy had summoned, but his smile was twofold. First, he was impressed that he pulled the monster out, and second that it was still 'weaker' than his Golem. "Ah, I see… this is good, a perfect chance to learn, now can anyone tell me what mistake our young novice made just now?"

"I didn't make a mistake!" He countered, "I know exactly what I did, and you're about to learn why you should never underestimate the power of my Dragonmaids!"

He scowled as he looked at the field, "I fail to see what the threat is… as you can clearly see my monster is 'still' stronger despite how tough your new maid is."

"We'll see about that; I initiate the battle phase!"

Crowler suddenly went wide eyed as he remembered his Dragonmaids 'special abilities', their ability to transform into their dragon forms despite them being in the hand 'or' the graveyard! As he watched Parlor glowed with a grin as she transformed into Lorpar, still smirking as she appeared on the field in attack mode this time. He turned to look at House Dragonmaid who… only opened her eyes with a calm expression still on her face.

"Am I missing something, because nothing's changed, sure you have Lorpar on the field, but your House Dragonmaid is still at her same attack points."

"Yea, something has changed, you see, Parlor has returned to my hand, and while House Dragonmaid can't go into a dragon form herself, she 'does' have a unique ability." Joseph said with a grin as he held Parlor in his hand. "If ever a dragon monster or 'monsters' I control returns to the hand, than House Dragonmaid's ability activates. And for every dragon that returned to my hand outside of the damage step, she can destroy one monster on your side of the field!"

"WAIT TIME OUT!" Crowler shouted as House Dragonmaid formed a circle with her fingers, put it to her mouth and blew a single string of emerald fire which erupted into a massive ball of draconic flame.

Ancient Gear Golem was engulfed by the flame and destroyed seconds later.

"Hnnnnng!"

"This is it… House Dragonmaid, ATTACK HIS LIFE POINTS DIRECTLY!" He said excitedly. "Draconic Maid Flame!"

House nodded as she made another circle with her fingers, but using the other hand, and blew into it to produce a black/white/red flame to engulf Crowler, burning his life points down by 3000 points.

[Joseph Takara – 1900 / Doctor Crowler – 0]

He took a deep breath as House Dragonmaid and Dragonmaid Lorpar bowed to their opponent, just as the holographic systems shut off, indicating the duel was over. "That's it… I did it… I passed… I PASSED!" He yelled excitedly, hopping up and down and waving at the crowd her began applauding in congratulations. "I passed, I passed, I paaaaaaaassed~!"

Up in the stands Zane smiled as he watched the novice celebrating his victory, he could tell that he wasn't just acting this way out of cockiness, he was obviously someone who rarely won duels and was happy to see his first true victory in front of a crowd come to pass. "Well, I think this will be an interesting year to say the least."

"You said it…" Alexis said, but paused as she heard screaming cheers nearby and looked over to see a group of six young ladies in the stands.

All of them had differently colored hair, and while five were in casual looking clothes, skirts, shorts, dresses and tank tops, the oldest looking one was wearing a long maid's outfit. The five casual looking ones were screaming and cheering, waving several 'Go Joseph' flags with the 'Maids of the Dragon's Café' logo on them, applauding and screaming his name while the sixth just calmly stared and smiled at him.

"Way to go Joseeeeeph!"

"We knew you had it in you!"

Down on the field she saw Joseph responding and waving at them, "Hey, did you see that, did you see what I did, did you see me win, I won, I'm in Duel Academy! Yahoooooooo!"

All of them stampeded down to meet him, while the older one simply shook her head in amusement before elegantly descending the stairs. As she walked by her, she could hear her say, "They're always so emotional toward him." In a soft, elegant and almost loving tone.

She just watched them go to meet him, with five of the girls crowding him, hugging him and cheering him on as he celebrated his victory, while the sixth just watched over them. Alexis couldn't help but notice an earie similarity between those girls and his Dragonmaids, or at least the three she saw. 'Especially that one with the maid outfit, if she put on some fake wings, horns and had a tail, she almost would look exactly like her.'

"Wow, he's got his own cheerleading squad." Syrus muttered, blushing as he saw how cute all of the girls looked, especially how 'close' they seemed to be to him.

"How did they get in; they couldn't have walked up here without going through the staircase downstairs." Bastion muttered in confusion.

Crowler however was still speechless as he slowly made his way over to where the other proctors were. He'd been bested by an amateur, a novice, some student who 'barely' arrived on time to take his exam and beat his personal dueling deck. Then he sighed and looked at the young lad celebrating with his girlfriends it seemed.

He smiled.

"Well, I know 'exactly' where to put you boy…" He muttered as he jotted down as a note to himself to put the boy in Slipher Red. "You may have won, but you lack experience and especially training. I'm going to run you through the ringer at Duel Academy, or you'll be expelled faster than you can say 'Duel'."

It wasn't that he hated the boy, far from it, he found respect for him with how he handled himself in the duel. He just decided that by putting him in slipher red would give him 'time' to grow, to be molded into a great duelist.

Hours later he was back in his room, celebrating his passing the entrance exam to Duel Academy. They'd closed the café for that day so that he could celebrate, and they could join him. The party had been cool, and filled with lots of affection from them, and he laughed a ton with them until it was time for him to go to bed.

"Oh, come on Sheou, let us celebrate for just a little longer, he doesn't leave for another week!" Lora whined. "Let him have a break for once!"

Around the room the other girls nodded in agreement, asking Sheou to let him have the night off and keep on celebrating. Sheou however glared at them with a 'calm' smile, her angry draconic-like aura appearing behind her again to cause the five girls to cower in fear.

"He's still sixteen years old, until he turns seventeen, he has a sleep schedule to keep to." She whispered politely, but also had an edge of 'danger' behind it. "And last I checked, you five are supposed to be WORKING!"

She pointed at the huge mess they'd made in the café lobby, riddled with empty food plates, empty glasses, empty drink dispensers and confetti everywhere.

"We have to get this place ready for tomorrow morning, SO GET TO WORK!" She hollered, causing the girls to run about frantically and clean everything up, while she sighed and beckoned him to join her upstairs.

"You know Sheou, you don't have to be so hard on them." He said warmly as they entered his room. "They just wanted to celebrate with me and celebrate me passing."

"I know, but they still have work to do, and I can't let them get distracted from it." She said sweetly while helping him wash up and get his bed ready.

"Alright, but maybe let off on the gas with them… at least a little for me?" He asked her as he finished brushing and laid down on his bed.

She glanced at him before smiling and nodding in acceptance. "As you wish master."

"You know I'm not a master right, you practically have raised me since… well my mother." He muttered as she tucked him in and brushed his hair. "Your practically my second mother to me…"

She smiled warmly at him before kissing him on the forehead goodnight. "To be compared on the same level as your mother, is an honor for a humble maid like me." She said lovingly. "Pleasant dreams."

He nodded as he rolled over and closed his eyes, but she hovered over him slightly longer, smiling warmly and looking at him lovingly behind her glasses. She then gave him one final kiss on his cheek, nodded, and walked out to finish her duties. As he slept however, he soon found himself squirming uncomfortably in his dreams, until five feminine figures, four dragons and one human appeared like astral forms. Upon them appearing, they each laid nearby, smiling as they watched him no longer squirm and smile again in his dreams, while the human one simply rubbed his forehead affectionately.

The door opened at that moment and a light blue eye peered in, observing how a blue, a green, a red, and pink dragons all cuddled up to him while a blond-haired lady wearing a full black maid outfit sat by. She nodded at Sheou and she nodded in understanding, leaving them to tend to his dreams and keep him happy on the night of his dream coming true.

Sheou walked down the hallway, down the stairs and look upon the 'still messy' parlor of the café and sighed as she changed from to her human image to her 'Dragonmaid' form, raised a hand and used her powers to wipe away the mess.

"Just this one time, master…" She muttered warmly.

They earned it tonight, they had been quicker when it came to sensing his nightmare and came to comfort and give him pleasureful dreams. Since this was the first time they'd reacted faster than she did, she let them off the hook and did their jobs for them.

If it was for their master, there was no length they'd go to when it came to serving him.

Even in the world of his dreams.

So yea, I needed to write this more for my sake, I needed to write something cheerful/funny/silly with a hint of romance that 'wasn't' a lemon and wasn't super serious related to my other stories. I also never wrote a yugioh story and never wrote about duels before, so did I do well for the first duel?

I essentially mirrored most of Crowler's moves from the anime, but changed it up a little, so that instead of crowler hating/wanting to fail the MC, he instead wanted to push him and test his limits, especially with the attitude change since unlike Jaden who thinks crowler looked like a clown, my MC saw Crowler as a big time name (Since he has no experience outside of dueling kids while working after school at his café') with his 'PHD in dueling'.

But he also wants people to know to respect his girls, his maids, because they are his family and friends.

You'll learn how he gained the Dragonmaid cards in the next chapter, and how he came to have all of them (or 95% of them) when he only started with House Dragonmaid.

For those wondering why he didn't summon Sheou, House Dragonmaid's Dragonform, Shoeu is the 'big boss monster' that he hasn't gotten yet, and will receive later in the story after Sheou herself feels he is worthy of her true power, and thus her whole being.

Right now she loves him, but not in the full sense of the word, she wants what's best for him and is willing to support his actions and decisions provided he isn't being manipulated or doing something for the wrong reason.

As for the other ladies, well you've seen how they act! Tell me how you think I did for my first Yugioh story, and again I'm sorry for writing this instead of promising my other stories, I PROMISE I will write for the others, its just Heart of Gazelle and Humanity I needed to get a break from. I really needed something lighthearted and friendly with hints of romance.

There may be a lemon if enough people want it, I have 2 main love interests in mind, but if everyone wants a lemon between Joseph and say all '5' of his dragonmaids (not counting Sheou/House) leme know in reviews.

Cheeeeeers
