Prologue
Anakin Solo found himself in an unfamiliar place. This space is nothing but black, yet it wasn't dark. He could still see his hands and the rest of his body. Wait, his body? The last thing he remembered was sacrificing himself to save his team. So why is his body not covered in wounds and why wasn't he feeling pain? Then he put his thoughts together and got an answer, "I must be dead then and will become one with the Force."
"Yes you have died, but you are not one with the Force yet." A voice called out to him.
He turned to the direction of the voice and saw a man with a blue hue to him. The man had wavy hair, robes, and a scar on his eye. Anakin recognizes this man. He has seen holo tapes of him from R2. He is stunned to see him. It's none other than his grandfather Anakin Skywalker.
"Oh don't be like that," the man said with a smile. "We finally get a chance to speak and you can't even say 'Hi' to the one you were named after? Loth cat got your tongue?"
Solo regains his composure before speaking, "Grandfather, is that really you?"
"Of course it is, and let me tell you that it has been a great pleasure watching over you for all these years. Watching your accomplishments reminds me of myself when I was a Jedi. Just as I was the poster Jedi during the Clone Wars, you yourself are the poster Jedi for your era. You truly are one befitting the name of Anakin." Skywalker proudly proclaims before wrapping his grandson in a hug. Solo is unsure how to respond, but the warmth of the embrace brings him to hug as well. After a few moments they separate before Skywalker starts up again, "Now I'm sure you have questions about what this place is and why you're here. Please be patient while we get the explanation out to you. Come this way, we have much to discuss."
Solo follows his grandfather until they come to a new figure. He does not recognize this man. He has gray skin, full blue eyes with circles in it, two horns, and a third red round eye on his forehead with a white robe. He simply looks at the teen and smiles.
"Ah young one, good to see you made it. My name is Hagoromo Otsutsuki, or as I'm also known as the Sage Of The Six Paths. Although I doubt you know of me seeing as you come a galaxy far, far away." The man introduces himself.
Solo looks to his Grandfather and gets an answer, "The reason you have yet become one with the Force is because the Sage wishes to speak to you. In fact he has a request and an offer."
Both Jedi look at the Sage. "That is correct. As I stated I am from a place far away from what you're used to, but it's because of what you are that I have a request for you."
"And what might that be?" Solo questions, "I doubt a dead seventeen year old is going to be much help seeing as I don't have a body. So unless it's something I can just tell you, I'm afraid that I can't be much help at the moment."
"Heh," Hagoromo chuckles, "Don't worry about that, I won't ask you what you aren't able to do. See there's an irregular situation that will become a huge problem in the world I come from. What I ask is that you help assist the people there to overcome said problem."
"And what kind of problem is that?" Solo asked.
Skywalker answers this time, "See the soul of a powerful Sith Lord ended up on his world and is reincarnated there. The problem is that he retains full memories of who he was and the world he is in doesn't even know what the Force is nor how to fight it."
The Sage sighs, "It's true. From what I've heard from your Grandfather, his man can and will bring the world to its knees or worse. Although the people living there have a great power of their own and could probably protect themselves without your help, but that would assume they are all united in a common cause which I should note that they aren't. From your perspective, these people would probably appear primitive to you. They aren't united, they are at war with each other, technology there isn't that advanced, and they haven't even considered nor are close to leaving the planet they are on. I usually do not interfere with their lives and just watch over them regardless of what they do, but an outside unknown soul forced itself here so I must be sure I can give them a chance to survive. This is where you come in."
"What do you mean? Didn't I just tell you that I don't have a body? How can I help them?" Anakin protests.
"I already have that covered. Your soul will be placed in a different body. The former soul inhabitant has died and the body is in need of a new one."
"How-" Solo begins to question but stops himself. Soul transfers aren't unheard of. The former Emperor transferred his soul to cloned bodies to prolong his life and attempted to take over Solo's body but was shot by his father Han. He decides to ask a different question. "Why me? There are numerous great Jedi throughout the years to choose from. There's even my grandfather standing right here and he was the prophecy to bring the Force back into balance. So why me?"
His grandfather answers, "Because you have yet to become one with the Force. We grabbed you before it could happen. At this moment, you are the only one we can ask. In fact, I recommended you for this. You are barely a young adult, but you died so soon yet did so much in your life. I wasn't able to be there for your mother and your uncle, but I have a chance to reach out and give my daughter's youngest child a helping hand. A second chance of life. I owe her and everyone else in our family that. Remember although your last name is Solo, you're still a Skywalker by blood and my precious grandchild. You have a wonderful gift and the people here will be in need of you. What do you say?"
Solo is speechless. He's heard the stories of his grandfather from his uncle Luke when he was training under him. He remembers how Luke always held his father high even with all the things he had done as a Sith Lord. He then thinks about Luke himself, his parents Leia and Han, his cousin Ben, and his older twin siblings Jacen and Jaina. Then finally he thinks of Tahiri, his best friend. She has been with him since the young Jedi academy and have had their share of adventures together. Tears begin to trickle down his cheek.
Skywalker notices this and places a hand on Solo's shoulder. "I know it is not an easy choice to make. If you become one with the Force then you can watch over them, but if you choose to help then you may not see them again for a long while. Whichever you choose, just know that I am proud of you."
Solo wipes his eyes and has a determined look on his face. "Thanks Grandfather. Hagoromo, I choose to accept your request."
The Sage lets out a smile across his face. "Thank you. Now before you go, there are things we need to tell you. By my estimation, you only have less than a decade before what I fear will happen becomes real."
"A decade? Why so long? From what I assumed, this would be happening sooner."
"This is because your enemy has been fully reincarnated into a new body. He is still growing and will take time to reach his potential. Although the same will be said for you as well."
"What do you mean?"
"Well the body we have for you is very young. Around seven I believe. Now hold on before you ask why, let me explain. Making you young will allow you to get a chance to learn about the world and get your body used to your power."
"My power?" Solo asks.
"He means the Force," Skywalker explains. "Since the Force is unknown there, you'll have to train your body to experience it. You will still be able to have precognition and see visions since your soul is still connected to the Force. However, things such as fast reflexes, telekinesis, and such you'll need to teach your body to learn."
The Sage adds, "Luckily you will still have the memory of any skills you used to have, so all you have to do is start applying it to your body and you'll eventually get back to how it used to be in time. Also I implore you to learn new techniques as well. Your enemy already has a head start on you on how the world is, so you'll need all the advantages you can get. I cannot interfere anymore than what I'm already doing so the rest will be on you young one."
"I understand and appreciate your help." Solo says.
"I will try to watch over you, but the world you're going to is filled with a completely different energy from the Force that makes it hard to maintain myself there. So I'll have to limit my further involvement to only a few interactions when you most need it. If you have any questions it's best to ask now before you venture off on your own." Skywalker tells Solo.
"Thanks, but I will ask you to watch over our family and Tahiri. I can't imagine that they will be taking my death very well. And can you let them know-"
"Of course I will."
"Alright then I believe I am ready." Solo tells the two.
"Very well. I wish you luck, young one." The Sage says as Solo's body starts disappearing.
"Remember Anakin, the Force will be with you always." Skywalker says.
"Thank you Grandfather, I'm glad I got to meet the one I was named after." Solo replies back as the last of his body is gone.
The other two that remained stood for a minute before Hagoromo spoke. "I'm putting a great deal of trust into this plan. I admit that my knowledge of the Force is limited, but the idea of bringing in a complete unknown willingly into this world wasn't sitting right by me. It's only because of your family's connection to this unknown power and the good I've seen them do with it is why I am letting the young one come here. But do you think the boy will be able to defeat your former dark master?"
Anakin stands there with a proud smile, "Of course I do. Once a Skywalker finds people who will stand beside them, they can overcome any darkness. I once thought that I was forever lost in darkness until Luke came into my life. My son supported me and fought to bring me back into the light. Since we are sending my grandson into a younger body, he will have all the time he needs to make a bond with people and will be his strength to overcome this threat. Vader's former master has already been beaten twice by Skywalkers, so I have no doubt that he can be beaten again."
"Although I tend to keep my eye on the going ons of my world, I've seen the things that the young one has done once I learned of this threat. He deserves a second chance at life and I hope it's a lot longer than his previous one."
"So do I. I just wish that I can do more for him."
"Do not worry, I will keep a watch over him while he is here. While I will not intervene with him directly, I can still give a push to those who will be around him."
Anakin raises his eyebrow, "What do you mean by that?"
"I mean what I said. I believe there is no coincidence that he is being sent here during this time. The Sith isn't the only threat that looms in this world. You're not the only one with family problems that can threaten all life. In fact there are others in this world that are destined to overcome darkness as well. I have a feeling that they will be able to join together and if that happens, I can indirectly help your grandson by directly helping the others." The Sage explains.
"Heh," the Jedi chuckles, "In another life, you would make a great Whill."
"Ugh, those beings? No thanks. You can keep them in your part of the universe. Speaking of which, don't you have a promise to keep?"
"Seems like it. I can't exactly keep my full attention on only one member of my family, but as I said I will come and help when needed. I just wish I didn't have to leave him by himself." Anakin thought sadly.
"Do not worry, the place he is going is a village that has a 'Will of Fire' and the people there tend to work off of the bonds they make with each other more than any other place. You have nothing to fear about him being alone."
"I will trust your judgment on this. I have other family members to attend to. Please watch over him as best as you can." The Jedi bows before turning and disappearing.
The last person in this empty space closes his eyes. "Now young one, I wonder what a knight will do in a world of ninja."
