Mr. Stephenson vs. The Indigo Elite
Prologue - Logan Stephenson
"Logan Stephenson, 14 years old and the most recent winner of the Indigo League. Born in the White Forest of Unova, this young trainer got his start in Nuvema Town with his first Pokémon, Tepig.
Logan has always been regarded as an excellent trainer, managing to get to the semi-finals of both the Vertress Conference and the Manalo Conference. With both of those placements, he earned himself the title of Ace Trainer. But although he had created himself a small fanbase and had the respect of his peers, it wasn't enough to quench his thirst for battle.
His next challenge was the Hoenn league and the Ever Grande Valley Conference where he made it all the way to the finals where he suffered another biting defeat.
Now, with a chip on his shoulder, Logan had something to prove. He knew that his fourth year as a trainer was make it or break it. After barely managing to earn his eighth badge on time, Logan battled through the Indigo Conference, going face to face with an assortment of his peers and rivals. And this year, luck was on his side. Even against one of the top seeds of the tournament, Logan Stephenson managed to finally get his victory and win a league tournament.
Now, Logan will take on his biggest challenge yet: the Indigo Elite Four."
Logan sighed as images of his battles at the Indigo Conference were displayed on the Saffron City's Pokémon Center's television. They were quickly followed by profile shots of the aforementioned Elite Four.
"They really had to go with luck, eh?" He wondered aloud to his Mightyena. "Had it been anyone else, they would have simply been called a skilled trainer. We just got lucky."
Mightyena looked up, and Logan laughed.
"It's all good. But, let's show them that we're the strongest team that Unova has to offer! Let's show them that it wasn't luck!"
He looked in the corner of the television screen at the time. He smile, adjusted his black hat with the white Poké Ball design embroidered on the front, unbuttoned the top of his black dress shirt, and then fumbled with his newly acquired sunflower necklace.
"It's time."
AUTHOR'S NOTES:
So, I had no idea how to open this story, and I'm not sure if this got the job done. I'm essentially writing this to remind my readers of Logan's journey. This story is meant to be read by people who have already read Healing in Hoenn and Kickin' It In Kanto. However, this chapter is being sort of written as an exercise for myself. I'm hoping that it helps me to get my creative juices flowing.
CHAPTER PREVIEW:
Chapter 1 - Logan arrives in Goldenrod City. He meets with Mr. Goodshow and is given the order of the Elite Four members that he'll battle over the course of the year.
