Jair's Hidden Library
Yes my friends! I am back with the last samba club story! I know that I have been so excited to write this last edition, but as I said I needed time to prep it as it would be the big finale! As some of you may know I will not be including a lot of the characters from the samba club saga as it will mainly be focused towards RDJ, but we do see a few familiar faces and some new faces that will be revealed along with the author who's allowed me to borrow them later on! I don't want to explain what will happen because I want you to be surprised! So without further interruptions…let's get right to it shall we? It's time to witness the end to this beautiful saga…enjoy!
Somewhere In The Amazon…Many…Years…Ago…
On this dark and treacherous night…nothing seemed to be all sunshine and rainbows for the birds in the Amazon. It was a really troubled and dangerous time, with the war raging on between the many different species of bird.
There was a huge flock of scarlet macaws attacking many of the locals in the jungle, killing everyone they saw in their sights. Not caring who they hurt, or what they were doing. They killed so many innocent lives…for their own selfish gains!
Men…women…even the children when they got the chance. They were incredibly ruthless when trying to take control and play god. Trying to take over the land as if it were their own.
Most of the armies on either side had bows and arrows, where some just had throwing spears to kill their enemy in one shot. Even others used Molotov cocktails to set each other alight to burn each other alive.
It was a complete and utter blood bath!
But as this war was still continuing, with only a few managing to escape, there was only one bird that was highlighted among the many. A blue and gold macaw male who had a hood tied to the back of his head so you couldn't see his face.
He was stealthily creeping around the trees and only taking out one bird at a time as a strategy to not be spotted easily by the enemy.
"Ha…Why? Why did this have to happen?!" The bird angrily thought to himself as he managed to escape the battlefield as fast as he could.
The male stopped on a specific tree branch to catch his breath. He placed a wing on his heart while panting heavily in exhaustion. There was no way in hell that he wouldn't be getting out of there alive any time soon. But…with the right help…things might come a little easier for him in his time of need.
"Pssst! Here! I'm in here!" Suddenly, a loud whisper was heard nearby…a female voice to be precise.
The blue and gold male darted his head to the right and saw a female blue spix's macaw sat in her hollow. And the way that she was calling him over, it was a sign that she clearly knew him.
He smiled at her in relief, and quickly ran over to the hollow. Before he jumped inside and she pulled over a huge piece of bark that looked like the size of a hollow entrance. To disguise them as an unhollowed out tree.
"Thank you Paty…I owe you one!" The male spoke in a low tone as he pulled his hood down to reveal his face. "Five more seconds and they probably would have spotted me."
"You owe me two actually! Or have you forgotten about me taking care of him?" The blue female pointed towards the nest she was talking about.
The male looked over to where she was gesturing…and in the nest he saw a blue and gold macaw male chick…and a blue spix's macaw female chick snuggled up in the nest. He smiled deeply at the way they were snoring. But then he sighed heavily in sadness, before only slightly looking over his shoulder to look at Paty. As this huge heavy weight of anxiety washed over him. "Do they know?"
"No…they don't…" Paty responded as she stroked them on the head with her soft blue wing. "Leandro…you can't keep this up! You made the biggest mistake heading behind enemy lines! If Eli finds out what you have done…if Amber even finds out what you've done…"
"They won't find out!" He snapped quietly but firmly, as a small tear crept from his eye to show how much he was in agony emotionally. "I already took care of it…even though I didn't have a choice!"
"By killing the thugs leader?! You just started a brand new war with the thugs Leandro! When the one we currently had was just about to end in our favour!" Paty angrily snapped in a low whisper, because she tried her best not to wake the children. "You knew that eventually it would backfire on you since making that stupid decision!"
"I know! But it was a matter of business!"
"Business or pleasure?! You screwed up! Screwed up bad! Now we are in deep shit!"
Leandro stood there for a second and realised that what she was saying was the truth. Which only meant one thing…he had to leave the Amazon…and never return!
"I have to leave Paty. Me and my son are leaving the Amazon!" Leandro spoke as he pulled his hood back up and covered his face once more.
"But you can't do that to the kids? Even though they can't speak yet…I feel like they were destined to be together?" She sadly replied, while watching her young daughter nuzzle her head on the male chick's neck. While they continued to snore together. "What are you going to do?!"
"Look…my son will meet your daughter again some day! I believe they are destined for each other just as much as you believe they do! But…they will have to be separated if we want them to be safe!"
"So what will you do now to keep him company?! If you're still out there doing what you're doing…" She asked in concern as she placed a wing on his shoulder.
The male blue and gold macaw turned away from her slightly, and faced the wall as he tried to think of a solution. But…only one thing came into his mind when rubbing his chin with his wingtip.
"There is…a kid…a young boy. He was taken from his parents at a young age after they were murdered by thugs. So Amber has been taking care of him back in Rio while I was away with our son."
"What good will that do?! Unless…no…you don't think he will actually believe…"
"What other choice do I have Paty? I made this decision myself! So now…all I care about is keeping my son from knowing the truth…until he finds out on his own!" Leandro responded as he sadly lowered his head.
"Do you think he will be okay not knowing?" The blue female asked when sitting down in front of the nest. "About…your past? About…everything?"
"I thought he would be safer here with the war going on! But now that the war was brought here…taking him back to Rio is my only chance."
"But what about my daughter Leandro? What will she do now that her friend will be missing?" Paty asked in concern, feeling her heart breaking from this sad situation. "She will be heartbroken!"
Leandro sighed heavily and approached the nest with a comforting smile. As he gazed down at the two children sleeping comfortably in the nest.
"Don't worry…one day they will be destined to meet…and one day…they will be the solution!" He spoke as he stroked both of their heads.
"The solution?! The solution to what?"
"…Peace Paty…Peace…"
(The scene cuts to black…)
(37 Years Later…)
(RDJ Speaks in the background)
"Iris, my dearest sister. Several months after myself and Lila left Rio, we set out on a journey to return the staff and cube to Belarus."
(RDJ and Lila are travelling through the sleet and snow on a cold and humid winters night. The blue female was carrying the staff and cube in her wing. Both of them were wearing cloaks to protect them from the icy cold weather. RDJ wore his assassins cloak and Lila wore something that she was given by the locals.)
"We have travelled very far from our home to find Jair's hidden library. The locals sheltered us, fed us, even bathed and clothed us. The locals around Minsk. They pointed us in the right direction."
(They could be seen standing on top of a cliff as they look over the horizon to find what they were looking for. Which revealed to be this huge sanctuary of some kind. Which was known to be the oldest assassins guild in the world.)
"We found ourselves tired for most of our travels, but we never gave up! I knew that it would be tough to travel in such conditions. But I never expected us to run into trouble as soon as we first set foot outside the sanctuary."
(Once they arrived at the burial chamber of Jair, an arrow comes out of nowhere and strikes RDJ on his shoulder. And pretty soon a large group of bandits and bandit leader began to surround them.)
"A group of bandits got here first, and was already searching the library for Jair's ancient tomb. Obviously, we weren't going to give them the chance to find what the assassins have been searching for."
(RDJ pulls the arrow out of his shoulder and narrowed his eyes before launching himself towards one of the guards, then blocks an attack from another guard with his wings before stabbing him in the throat with his hidden blade. Then he rolled over his back and blocked another attack before stabbing him in the neck twice. Throwing him aside.)
"My health isn't as good as it once was Iris. The coma I was in for eight long months made me weaker. But the strength I still have to keep fighting always keeps me going. I feel tired almost every day. And I seem to always run out of breath more easily than I used to…fuck…getting older is not what I like!"
(He then blocked another attack and countered someone else before stabbing both of them with his hidden blades.)
"I hope that this letter reaches you dear sister…because I want you to be updated with the things I find and the secrets that I've learned."
(Lila saw about twenty bandits approaching her with sinister smiles on their faces. Then she formed an evil grin herself and used the staff against their minds. A blast of gold energy shot out of the staff and multiple effects happened. Some birds turned to the birds next to them and started killing each other for no reason. Some bent down to her will in terror. And others just got hit so badly that they instantly died with their minds exploding like grenades.)
"Because one day dear sister…you shall be telling the story of how your brother found the secrets of the legendary assassin of old…and how our lives will finally have a positive outcome on others. Signed…RDJ."
(After a few seconds all the bandits in the area dropped to the floor lifeless. Leaving RDJ and Lila still standing. Both of them pulled off their hoods to reveal their faces, then the couple walked down the main tunnel into the tomb with smirks on their faces as they continued their search for the hidden Library.)
Just Inside The Tomb…
The cold breeze from the hail and sleet still made its way into the dark tunnel of the tomb. Causing the atmosphere to be twice as cold due to the walls being made of stone. And the air just ricocheted off them like they were reflecting off of a mirror.
RDJ himself was feeling pretty exhausted after all the fighting they had just gone through, and decided to rest for a moment on the floor near one of the walls.
"Cough! Cough! Cough! Ahhhh…ahhhh…my chest! Whooo…didn't think we'd have company here." The blue and gold male spoke in a croaky tone, as he placed a wing on his heaving chest. "God I'm so tired." He placed his bow and arrows on the floor, while breathing into his wings and rubbing them together to keep warm.
"That is exactly why I told you to send someone here in your place, to send those things back. But nope! You don't ever listen to me!" Lila spoke with so much irritation in her voice as she sat opposite of him on the floor near the other wall. "Just once, I would like for you to actually listen to me! You never take on board what I've got to say!"
The blue and gold male assassin looked up at his wife with a really bummed out look. And he just rose his eyebrow curiously, showing that he wasn't liking her tone towards him.
"Are we really doing this again Lila? Come on? I know things have been a bit difficult the past couple of months…" He was about to explain, but his wife instantly cut him off.
"Difficult?! Things have been a nightmare for me the past couple of months! You promised me you would spend time enjoying retirement, and spend some time with me and the kids! As well as spending time with your friends!"
"I did do all of that?" He wasn't really sure on why she was saying all of this to him. Because in his mind he did do what he promised. But in her eyes…not so much.
"Oh really?" The blue female then stood up on the spot and placed her wings on her hips. "I remember every night before we went to sleep you said that you would be hanging out with Roberto, Keith and Tomada! So one night I couldn't sleep because Leandro came home in tears after he was bullied by a blue throated macaw in the samba club! So when I left the hollow to let him calm down I bumped into Keith. Then he told me that you were at your parents old hollow! Why?!"
"I told you that I like to go there sometimes to clear my mind?"
"But you LIED to me! Your own wife! You were in the hollow trying to find the best route to Minsk! And don't say that you haven't! Because that will only make me angrier!" Lila clearly was showing her emotions towards him to make it known that she was upset with him.
"Listen honey…I'm sorry that I lied to you. It's just that…I wanted to find the quickest route here so we could finally come here, do what we need to do and then travel straight back home where we can retire together peacefully?" RDJ simply responded while lowering his head slightly after getting his energy back.
"That may be RDJ, but you still lied to me. I hate liars! I thought marriage was supposed to be loyalty and trust towards one another? Not to mention honesty!" She shook her head from side to side while continuing to stand.
"I know! I know…I don't think me saying sorry would cut it. But…allow me to make it up to you?" The blue and gold male stood up on his feet, and put his bow and arrows over his shoulder.
"How?" She spat angrily when looking at her husband in disappointment.
"Hmmm…well…how about when we are done here, you and I go on a private trip together? Just you…and me!" He spoke smoothly in a tempting voice. As he extended his wing towards her, and began stroking her wing affectionately.
Lila did soften her expression only slightly after hearing his little proposal, but…she wanted him to offer more as she felt like it wasn't enough to satisfy her. "Keep talking…"
"We can…enjoy a peaceful walk on the beach during sunset? Eat the most exotic fruits and nuts that we could get our wings on? Even go and see if there are any events in the city where we could watch from a distance?" RDJ walked up behind her at this point and began massaging her shoulders.
To be completely blunt…Lila did feel pretty good about doing all of those things with her husband. But…a part of her did tell her that this could possibly all be just some art of seduction so she would end up forgiving him so easily. But…she was a strong and honest bird. So she knew that she had to be sure that he would live up to his promise.
"Do you promise me? Because I don't want you just to say it and then make up some stupid excuse as to why we couldn't do those things!" She turned to face him over her shoulder with a serious look.
RDJ gulped nervously when noticing the deathly serious look his wife was giving him. But…he did want to make her happy. So he only spoke two words.
"I promise!"
"Okay, but! That doesn't mean I'm letting you off the hook so easily! If you want to really say sorry, you'll have too…"
BANG! (The sound of a door slamming further in the tunnel.)
"WHY HAVEN'T WE HEARD FROM ANYONE OUTSIDE?! WE MUST PREPARE IN CASE THAT ASSASSIN SHOWS UP!" A very enraged voice came from inside the tunnel, making RDJ and Lila immediately shoot their heads over to the sound of the voice.
The blue and gold male quickly grasped his wife by the wing and got her to hide behind him as he stood close to the wall.
He quickly extended his hidden blade in his wing, and waited for the right moment to strike.
"I swear, it's like I am working with…MMMMMM!"
Suddenly, RDJ quickly grabbed the bird as he walked past the duo. Pinning him up against the wall with the blade on his throat.
"Well it looks like you have to improve your security! Where is the tomb?!" RDJ angrily asked as he removed his wing from what appeared to be a male cockatoo.
"HELP! ASSASSIN! ASSA…ACKKKKaaa…" RDJ quickly slit his throat before he could finish shouting, and luckily for them, he didn't attract any unwanted attention.
"Shit…looks like we will need to find this ourselves?" Lila remarked in sadness while picking up the staff.
"Not to worry. I'm sure if we keep heading straight, we might be able to find what we are looking for." RDJ replied as he wiped the blood off his blade and retracted it. Before the two of them took their time to head down the tunnel. Keeping their eyes out for any more bandits as they did so.
The tunnels must have been centuries old due to the poor structure, but…it appears that someone had built up pillars recently to stop the cave from collapsing.
RDJ turned around the corner and saw what appeared to be a double door which lead to a stone staircase. But, there were two guards guarding the doors. Both of them were green winged macaws who looked rather muscular. Holding spears while stood in a tall and threatening manner.
"Okay…I think we need to get down those stairs. But we have to kill the guards first!" The blue and gold assassin spoke softly to his wife as he started to think of a good approach. But his wife already had an idea.
"I have a plan in mind! That's if you decide to actually listen to me this time?" Lila spoke with a soft voice, and crossed her wings.
"Alright, whatever you're thinking of, I support you! What do you need me to do?" RDJ asked as he smiled at his wife.
"Get your bow and arrows out and aim two arrows at both guards. When I give you the signal, you fire the arrows!" She replied with a small grin herself, feeling a little better that her husband took her idea seriously. Even though she hasn't forgiven him just yet!
"Okay…let's do this!"
Just outside of the double doors, both guards continued to stand there, but both of them looked really frustrated due to how long it was taking for their associate to come back from checking on the bandits outside. Completely unaware that they've all been killed by RDJ and Lila.
"This is ridiculous! I don't see why we have to do guard duty, while the others get to have all the fun!" One of them grumbled in annoyance, spitting on the floor in disgust.
"Will you quit your moaning?! We only have one job to do here before heading back home, so I'd appreciate it if you shut the fuck up!" His associate was really annoyed with him, thumping him on the back of his head.
Suddenly, Lila slowly strolled from around the corner and she acted like she was really sick. Just so she could get both of their attention.
"Ughhhh…ooooh…ow!" The blue female faked a sick voice, putting on a limp when approaching the guards.
"Halt! Who goes there?!" One of the guards shouted as he aimed his spear at the female newcomer in the cloak. "State your business miss!"
"Help! I've been…travelling…and I'm really sick! Cough Cough! I need help!" Lila was putting on a real dramatic performance here, and it was actually fooling both of the green winged macaws.
"Oh crap! Hold on miss, let me get you some water!" One of them spoke softly as he completely let his guard down. Giving Lila the perfect opportunity to signal her husband for the kill.
"I need…help…now!" The blue female immediately fell flat on her face on the floor. Causing both males to look at her in concern.
But then RDJ pulled two arrows back on the bow, and shot both of them at the two guards. Killing both of them instantly.
"ACKKKKKAAAAaaaaaa…" Both of them got shot in their throats with the arrows, and slowly choked on their own blood, before dropping lifeless on the floor.
"Double kill!" RDJ remarked as he swung his bow back over his shoulder and gradually lifted his wife up off of the floor. "Are you okay sweetie? That didn't hurt too much did it?"
"No, I turned my head to the right so that my face didn't get bruised." She remarked before herself and her beloved began dusting her feathers off.
"That was incredible! You totally fooled them!" He complimented her with a smile as he finished dusting her back off.
"Well I had to fake being happy the last two months, so this was a piece of cake." She sarcastically replied before rolling her eyes.
"Okay, can we at least try to get along for the rest of this trip? Because that was just hurtful." The blue and gold male sadly responded, showing a faint unhappy face.
"Yes, but as long as you don't do anything stupid and leave me on my own to catch up to you!" Lila replied before getting ready to continue on their search for the hidden tomb. "After you!"
"Thanks…" RDJ strolled in front of his wife and crouched down slowly as they made their way into the double doors. Which he used his hidden blade to unlock the doors. Then the duo began walking down the dimly lit staircase, hoping that the burial chamber was within their reach.
As the two of them strolled down the steps, Lila did think that the comment she made back there was a little too harsh. "Sorry…"
"For what?" He asked curiously.
"For what I said back there. I just want us to do this stupid thing and then return home to our family!"'
"I do too Lila. And I promise that as soon as this is all over, we can finally retire together! Then I will close the doors to my life as an assassin forever!" RDJ beamed as they finally made it to the bottom of the staircase, and made it into another strange looking room.
But this time…there right in front of him…was an incredibly large looking door. But not only that…some more bandits were lurking around outside of it. With a couple of them trying to use pickaxes to break the door down.
RDJ lifted his wing up at his wife and placed it on her shoulder to signal for her to stay low. Then she immediately obeyed and stood close behind him. Trying to decide their next move.
"Okay…I'll go up to the top pillar there and create some kind of diversion! While the bandits are focusing all of their attention on me, you kill them off one by one!" RDJ remarked as he went to go forward with his plan.
But Lila had something else in mind…
Instead, she immediately leapt down from where she was standing and landed on the floor with a thud. Causing all five bandits to shoot their heads towards her, with weird glances on their faces. RDJ however just widened his eyes in surprise, but prepared to back her up.
"Hey guys! This place is mind blowing isn't it?" Lila cockily remarked as she pulled out the staff that she was holding. Making all of them go wide eyed in horror. Too paralysed in fear to move.
"Oh sh…"
Suddenly, she used the staff on the bandits in front of her, and all of them immediately dropped to the floor lifeless due to how close they were from her. Then she immediately smirked and twirled the staff around.
"Or…we could just do that?" RDJ remarked in a surprised manner, as he joined her on the floor. "Nice work!"
"Thank you." She took a little bow and then wiped the sweat from her forehead.
"Now…let us see what this door is about?" The blue and gold male beamed as he picked up what looked like some flaming torch on the wall. And held it up towards the large door in front of them to get a better look.
The door itself looked thousands of years old. It was so tattered and mossy from the craftsmanship rotting away. But…there was something very unique about this door which further intrigued the male. Especially since there was another symbol on the door of a figure wearing a hood. Like an assassin symbol.
"Hey honey? Take a look at this!"
"What?" Lila came over to him to see what he was talking about. Then when she saw him fiddling with one of the hollowed out parts in the door, she instantly became curious. "Doesn't this look a bit like the hidden door that you opened up under the old samba club?"
"It looks similar to it? But there's one difference with this door. Instead of there being one key hole. There are one, two, three, four, five key holes? Where are the keys?" RDJ remarked as he placed a wingtip on his chin to think.
"Cough…Cough…ahhh…you won't find them in here!" A very weak voice spoke up from the corner of the room. It revealed to be that one of the several bandits didn't take the full damage of the staff and was still able to speak and move slightly. "You have to find our leader to find that out…"
"Where is your leader?" RDJ asked as he kneeled down to get to his eye level.
"Off the outskirts of this place. He knows the locations of the keys…it's in the book he is carrying."
"What book?" The blue and gold male asked as he pointed his hidden blade at him.
"It was the book who belonged to Jair's library! He hid it somewhere in the sanctuary. But then our leader found it and he takes it everywhere with him." The bandit explained as he coughed up some blood. "Please…put me out of this misery!"
RDJ nodded his head and grabbed both sides of the bandits neck, then he twisted it quickly all the way around. Breaking the male's neck and killing him in a matter of seconds. "Descanse em paz…"
"Great! Now we have to find this stupid captain! So much for an easy journey!" Lila grumbled in annoyance, as she crossed her wings.
"Hey, this could be the quickest solution into finding our way into the sanctuary! I'm sure that we don't have to go far?" RDJ responded as he strolled away from the hidden door, and made his way back over to the double doors.
"Ughhhh…why did I let him do this? We should have just sent Jaime or Devil Darkness!" Lila grumbled in anger before following her husband up the stairs. "When this is all over…I am going to be so grumpy with my him!"
Now, what did you think about the first chapter ladies and gentlemen?! It is great to be back writing the last story of the samba club saga! What was the deal with the beginning right? What did Leandro do that was so terrible? And who were those two birds in the nest together? I know that you guys have probably noticed this…but Lila seems to be a little too frustrated with her husband. And we all know that couples in life do have disagreements and quarrels. But…as the story does go on…it will only be more tense. So anyway my friends, I hope you enjoyed that! And I'll see you soon for chapter 2! P.S A special thank you to Lilamacaw for allowing me to borrow her OC Paty!
