A/N: This story is very personal to me because bits of this story (or mostly) happened (and still is happening) to me recently and in my current relationship - until now I have no idea how to deal with it so as usual, I write. This is drabble fic and I'm planning to update this story much faster because I have many feelings (but not much time, hence drabbles). Enough about me, here goes heartbreak.
I own nothing.
One.
That one time that she invited herself to dinner with his college peers, she took a second shower and wore her most decent dress in her drawer. It was a 30 minute drive to the place and she even wore heels that made her back hurt - only to realize that dinner was in a very casual barbecue grill. That night she sucked up all air as she walked towards them, only to breathe when they took in her presence. A pinkette, the pinkette, smiled at her telling her boyfriend how pretty his girlfriend is. That time she acted as if she didn't hear but her blush gave her away.
Naruto introduced her to everyone. The girlfriend, Hinata.
A small winning smile graced her lips as if forgetting the papers she has to start when she gets back to her dorm - knowing just how late she will get back - suddenly the reminder of her 8 am class the following day burned at the back of her mind.
"... and this is Ino and uh.. Sakura" The blonde smiled sheepishly, his right hand scratching his cheek. Pale white orbs look at her green ones, failing to see Ino's blues.
"Oh h-hi, nice to meet you, Ino.. Sakura" She smiles.
A prick stings, pretty that is what Sakura is. A slight cut breaks into her as if a reminder...that Sakura, this perfect Sakura, was at one point in time, 1 year and 3 months ago to be exact, was in her position - was his girlfriend. Her boyfriend's ex who remained friends. Close friends. A bitter taste it left her mouth. Still friends.
Not a little later as they continue to grill poor fats of beef, Sakura stands and excuses herself to smoke outside with Shikamaru.
With her smoke blurred eyes sees just how his clear blue eyes traced the thin pinkette's retreating back. Ino sees too and glaces at Hinata. Hinata tried to act as if she didn't see - know.

This was three years ago.
And yet his eyes still burns on the pinkette while Hinata closes her eyes. She endures. She is his now, Sakura was just a figure from the past, right?
Her fingers played with the 3 carat heart-shaped diamond sitting on her yellow gold ring fitting snuggly on her left hand. Right?
