Memory Loss - Prologue
Severus Snape wondered how many students would succeed in brewing the Heritance Potion. It was a new elixir introduced by the Ministry of Magic. For many years their society has struggled with the phenomenon of a shrinking population. This is why a potion was developed to test kinship. He himself believed that this elixir had a different purpose. Not increasing the population, but studying the simultaneous increase in Squibs and Muggle-borns. In his eyes, it was another way to control wizards. However, he had no opportunity to object. It was a prerequisite to examine the students, and even Dumbledore couldn't object to it.
"Fifteen more minutes until the fire under the cauldrons is put out." he reminded his students in a calm voice.
He was pleased with what he saw. This was the first Potions class he had been relatively calm in since he began teaching this group. The combined Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff classes have always been quiet. The combination of Gryffindor and Slytherin was a way to create chaos. He will never understand why the director decided not to change the plan. Perhaps a little distance between lions and snakes would improve things between the two houses.

Hermione Granger didn't like Potions. She liked chemistry. Everything was so orderly. Measurable. Repeatable. She knew that if she didn't want to experiment, a specific product should be obtained by closely following a specific recipe. Potions were more like cooking than chemistry. It confused her.
"Don't be nervous." -Harry's whisper added a little reassurance. Awhile. Later, she felt guilty because she should be supporting him. After all, he was on the verge of getting him into the Triwizard Tournament.
"I don't feel comfortable with Professor Snape hovering over our like a vulture over a carrion. That alone makes me nervous." she replied without thinking.
She looked towards her friend. She found he was surprised by her directness.
"I think you're not nervous about Snape. You are terrified of what the results of the potion might be. If it works, of course." - she could tell from the voice that Harry was confident.
"My parents don't know who my biological mother is. The only information they got was that her parents decided to hand me over. That is the conclusion is that my mother must have been a minor when she gave birth to me. Who the hell was my father?"
She didn't care who would hear her. She was torn by emotions that she had been trying to keep inside herself for so long. From the day she found out she was adopted. She loved her adoptive parents, but she was missing something. She didn't have to have contact with those thanks to whom she was born. She just wanted to know if they were wizards like she is.
She was aware that being a Muggle-born was nothing wrong. She was even proud of it. But from time to time, somewhere in the back of her head, there was a thought that gave her a bitter taste in her mouth. What if she was proud of something that wasn't true?
She sighed and looked at Harry. She felt that she was about to start crying from the excess of accumulated emotions. And she could see Harry noticed it.

The Potions Master was sitting at his desk and watched as more students left for break. He waited for everyone to come out so that he could verify the results calmly. He didn't think anyone would want to stay. It meant only one thing. Hermione Granger found something on the parchment she didn't expect.
"Professor..." - her voice trembled. - "Would you like to talk to me about the information I have received?"
Severus refrained from huffing. He didn't like this girl. Not because of her over-energy. Rather because of her aura. She acted as if she was entitled to everything. She reminded him very much of Draco in this attitude. Only he had to put up with it. He was his godson and the son of his friend.
With a quick movement, he unrolled the parchment handed to him by the griffon. - "On Salazar..."
I will have to put up with her too. She is my daughter after all.

She was sitting in her office. She didn't know if the current ordinance regarding the Heritage Potion would bring her closer to her goal. However, she knew she wouldn't give up. She never forgave her parents for making her give up her daughter.
"I hope I can make it this time." - she sighed.
She closed her eyes and tilted her head back. Her brown, curly hair fell down her back. Helen didn't even know the boy's real name. Sev. It probably couldn't be his real name. His eyes mesmerized her. They were full of sorrow. He wasn't classically handsome, but his beauty was eye-catching. She smiled at the memory of the confusion on his face when she stole his first kiss from him.
She worked hard to get to where she was now. Back then, she was too young and too weak to fight for her child. It has changed. She just hoped she could have at least a part in her life. She also hoped that her little angel had ended up in a good family.

Severus Snape locked himself in his office. He tried to remember who Hermione Granger's mother was. The name of the woman on the parchment meant little to him. What happened to leave her? What happened that he didn't remember her? Was it a one night adventure or maybe...
