Everybody knows Annabeth Chase. It had become a household name, and no matter where you lived, or how old you were - everyone knew about the famous singer.
Percy Jackson was no exception. He had always admired the young star, and loved watching her in his favourite movies, and oh fine he'll admit it, he did have a slight crush on the celebrity.
Not that he would ever have the chance to meet her, of course. He lived with his father in a small town in Texas, and it was hardly the top of anyones travel list - let alone one of the most successful musicians of his generation. At least, that was his mindset a few days ago.
It was around 4pm on Tuesday, and he had finally returned home from school after swim practice. Coach Hedge had made him stay extra, claiming that 'You'll never beat those cupcakes with your current formation Jackson! Try again!'.
Percy swears that he'll be the death of him.
'Dad! Im home!' He yells as he enters the kitchen, where his father and another unknown man sat on the bar stools, in deep conversation. They looked over at the young boy as he entered, grin lighting up Poseidon's face.
'Percy son! Come sit down!'
Percy cautiously walked over to where the men were sitting, giving a polite nod to the stranger. ' Am i in trouble?' He asked, fully aware that the man was looking him up and down.
Poseidon let out a chuckle. 'Of course not! Well, not that i know of! This man' he pointed at the stranger, ' needs our help. He works for an old family friend, Athena. She needs her daughter from LA to stay here for a while, something to do with feeling uninspired in the city, and also needing to finish school.'
Percy slowly nodded, 'Oh okay, bit of a random place to come to, i mean - LA to here? And what do you mean uninspired?'
Poseidon's grin widened, almost in anticipation of what Percys reaction would be, ' Well you see, she is kind of well know , so a small town will allow her to finish her studies in peace, and also because Athena grew up near here she thought it would be perfect. Her daughter needs a small town to get away from distractions, i believe she is trying to finish her third album?'.
The man across from Poseidon nodded in agreement.
Percys eyes widened at the comment, 'Third album? How well known is she that she can't go to another school?'.
The man turned to face Percy, still seemingly looking him up and down, almost as if to assess if he was a threat or not.
'You see, Athena daughter - well, its Annabeth Chase.'
Percy froze before a laugh escaped his lips. 'Okay, yeah, good one, you almost had me you know, i almost believed you!'
Poseidon's eyes glinted with amusement as he spoke again, ' No son, he's serious. It really is Annabeth Chase. We are picking her up from the airport on Saturday.'
Percys jaw hit the floor.
