Hey there everyone! Long time no see Doctor Who fans! It's been a while, but I'm finally back! And back with a brand new story to tell too. I'm looking forward to sharing this story with all of you. And I hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Welcome! To "Experimental"!

Chp 1: Crash of the Byzantium Part 1

Have you ever just looked at your life and wonder where exactly you fit in the universe. Wonder about why you were here and what you were doing? What and where it would lead you?

I did. Still do as a matter of fact. I'm not sure what led me here. Whether to call it good, bad or dumb luck. My story is not like most. In fact it's the only story of its kind. As far as I know at least.

But did you know how to know when you're about to get into a big load of trouble? Well one surefire way to figure it out is when you're woken up by this.

"Hello Sweetie."

"Wha-what?" Everything was a blur and the bright lights weren't helping.

"Say ahh for me?"

"Ahh-huh?" Next thing I knew, a tongue depressor was shoved in my mouth.

"Alright everything looks alright, can you tell me your name?" A lady asked.

"Harry. What's going on?"

"Alright that's good Harry, let's take things one step at a time. What's the last thing you remember?"

"Remember? Am I in a hospital?"

"No Harry, listen carefully. Do you remember where you were before?"

"No I, I can't see."

"I need you to answer my question."

"I don't really remember anything. There was a-a flash. Some bright light… a watch. I thought it burned, it attached itself. Woah, ahh!" I winced as I became more aware of just how much pain I was in. Then that wince turned into screams as my wrist burst into pain.

The lady in front of me started to panic. "Get me a sedative now!"

I wasn't sure what happened but I felt my body go cold, the pain go numb and I could feel myself drift away.

A hand found itself to my face and the same lady as before shushed me, easing me off to sleep. "Don't worry about a thing now love. Everything's gonna be alright now."

In the last moment's I had before falling asleep, my vision cleared. Though there was no way… I had to be seeing things, there was no possible what that could be, "River… Song?"

When I finally woke up again I was in some kind of prison cell. My arm still hurt like crazy. Like someone wanted to roast marshmallows and used my arm as the stick.

"Take it easy now Harry. You've been given a lot of sedatives to combat the pain. Give yourself time."

I groaned, sitting up despite River's warnings and there she was, standing on the other side of the… force field? "What's going on? Where am I?"

"You're on the Byzantium. Do you know where that is?" River asked.

"The Byzantium?" That sounded vaguely familiar but for the life of me I couldn't remember why.

River paused for a moment. Then she shrugged. "It'll come to you eventually Harry, I'm sure. But for now let's get you out of here. The Doctor is inbound."

River then set me loose and told me to follow. Soon after, alarms were sounded and we were off running through the ship. As we ran, more and more started to come back.

"I'm sorry… but could you possibly explain things to me? I'm not really sure what's going on either. This thing on my wrist, what is it? I-I just don't know." I felt so confused, more so than I had felt in… well ever. Especially since we were running.

"I think I see now. I'm so sorry Harry."

"What are you sorry for? We're just running. Beside," I smiled at River and with a laugh said, "I'm running alongside my favorite character from Doctor Who. This is the best dream I've ever had."

"Well it's not really… we'll deal with that later."

While I knew what was supposed to happen I did not know where I was going. So while I was excited about running with River… I was technically running behind her. After all, she knew where we were going.

"We're running out, annnd we're out of ship."

River winked at me. "Don't worry Sweetie. Even though this is technically our first meeting, you should know better than that. The party's just begun."

"I wouldn't say that, Doctor Song. From where we're standing it would seem that the party is very much over. And yet you're still on board." Some weird looking guy said.

"Sorry, Alistair. But we needed to see what was in your vault."

I had to do a double take at that. Did she just… no. "I'm sorry, we? Don't loop me in with your crimes."

River just turned to me and chuckled as she patted my cheek. "Aww, you're so cute and innocent as a youngling aren't you?"

I gave her a weird look as I backed away. "Don't do that. Please don't do that."

Alastair cleared his throat, thankfully drawing River's attention back to them. "Sorry 'bout that love, we just had to see what was inside that vault of yours."

'There she goes with all that "we" stuff again. What's with her anyway? Even in a dream of mine this isn't exactly how I would imagine working with her… or even how I would dream of being in Doctor Who in general.'

It was all really confusing. Especially since any time I did imagine being in Doctor Who, it's always been in ways like becoming the Doctor's companion or being a Time Lord that somehow escaped the Time War.

I was never more River's companion than the Doctor's that was for sure. Now mostly that was because apart from her becoming an archeologist, her work as a mercenary and trying to kill the Doctor… I didn't know enough about her exploits to really come up with anything.

It was then that I tuned back in for the end of River's speech. "... hang on to." 'Huh? Oh yeah- crap!' "River!" Suddenly the door we were stuck behind burst open and the two of us were launched into space.

And despite knowing the truth I thought for sure that I was gonna burst due to the lack of pressure. But sure enough, all I did was cruise right alongside River right into the Tardis. Then the both of us fell on top of the 11th Doctor, probably making him even skinnier than he was before.

"River, Harry." He moaned.

"So you know me too?" I asked, earning a confused look before River whispered something in his ear.

"Really?" The Doctor said, surprised by whatever River told him. "Right then. Could one of you help me up then?"

"Oh right. Sorry 'bout that Doctor." When I pulled him up I noticed he was grinning at me. "Uhh… what's that for?"

"You said my name."

I blinked. 'Well I'll give my mind this… he is just as weird in my head as he is in real life.' "Sorry what? What's that supposed to mean?"

"I haven't heard you say my name like that in a while."

That did nothing to help my confusion. 'What?'

The Tardis beeped some which caused a whole series of events. The Doctor complained about time wasted with hellos, he and River had their lovers spat about stabilizers. All the while, Amy kept staring at both me and River. Probably wondering, and rightly so, just exactly who we were.

Cue another lovers spat later and as she passed me by River asked rather simply, "You coming Harry?"

"Uhh…"

Before I could answer, the Doctor interrupted. "Ah, ah no! I'm afraid Harry is coming with me. I don't want him to be corrupted by you too soon. Could save my younger and future selves much pain."

'Younger selves? What's that supposed to mean? Wait, what am I thinking?' I asked myself with a shake of my head. 'This is a dream. I'm pretty certain it's not supposed to make sense.'

Though regardless of my own thoughts… things seemed way too real for it to be a dream. I never dreamed like this before. Then again, the only other thing that it could possibly be would be… impossible.

"Harry? Are you coming or not?"

River's question jolted me out of my thoughts. I looked back at her with a smile… of a sort. "Y-yeah, I'm coming."

The Doctor almost looked betrayed. It would have been funny if he didn't look like a wounded puppy. "Oh come on Doctor you know for a fact that you're not getting out of this. Best to just rip off the band aid and get over with it."

Some mumblings and groanings later and the Doctor joined us with Amy, who came out smiling at me. Why that was, I wasn't sure but figured I'd ask later.

Of course all those thoughts left my head as soon as we stepped foot off the Tardis. In fact I could swear my heart skipped a beat upon seeing where we were. It was only then that I realized why the name Byzantium was so familiar.

'The Crash of the Byzantium! Oh this is not going to be a fun dream. Ironically though it is funny. The first lucid dream I've ever had of Doctor Who and it's about one of my least liked villains. The Weeping Angels.'

My fearful expression did not go unnoticed unfortunately. "Harry? Are you alright?"

"I'm not going in there. I don't care if this is a dream or not, no reasonable person would dare walk in to a place that would turn their dream into a-a nightmare!"

Amy looked very confused by my reaction but I didn't care. It was River and the Doctor's reaction that would have interested me if I wasn't already considering running to the hills.

In the end it was the Doctor that grabbed my shoulders. "Alright Harry I'm going to have to ask you to breathe alright? Just breathe with me."

I did as he asked and soon my breathing came back under control. When that happened the Doctor looked me in the eye and asked. "Alright Harry, on a scale of one to ten how bad is this going to get?"

"Bad? Scale? I just don't want to go in there."

"And I get that, I do! You don't have to go in if you don't want to, that's totally up to you."

However while a big part of me didn't want to go in, the other half knew. "You're going in there aren't you?"

"Yep."

There was one thing I had to know before I decided anything else. "River?"

"Hmm?" She prompted.

"If I ask you something, will you tell me the truth?"

"Where's the fun in that?" River teased with a grin.

"River please. After this you can tease me and we can play your games as much as you wish but I want… I need this answered before we go in there. Will you tell me the truth?"

She must have seen something in my eyes cause her teasing grin she always had, went away. "Alright, just this once."

"Is this a dream?"

"What?" Amy exclaimed.

I held up a finger to Amy. "Amy please not now. River?"

River was silent for a while. Eventually though, she responded. "No. I'm so, so sorry but no it's not a dream."

I took a deep breath… and decided to deal with it later. "Ok then… very good to know."

"Then you're going in?" River asked.

"Yeah, I'll go in."

"Brilliant."

The Doctor blinked and shook his head. "Hold on, wait just a minute we are not going anywhere but back in the Tardis. And you know what? You can't just jump out of spaceships and expect me to catch you every time." The Doctor ranted.

"Well…" The Doctor turned to me with a hurt expression. "What? You may not like it but that's exactly how it's gonna be, Doctor. Besides, you already kinda said you were going in there."

River laughed. "You heard the man Doctor." The Doctor turned away in a huff but then the readings River was doing came through. "There's one survivor. You want to tell the Doctor what's in there Harry or shall I?"

I smiled. The Doctor was already dying to know, I could tell. "There's a thing in the belly of that ship that can't ever die. A Weeping Angel."

River turned to Amy. "You see? Now he's listening." As she walked away she called the Father and his clerics up in space.

'Now there's a sentence I never thought I'd think up.' The Doctor started to walk by me when I stopped him. "Doctor?"

"Yes?"

"About your question from earlier? I'd say it's about a 7 or 8. On a scale from bad to worse."

The Doctor frowned. "Ah yes, 7 or an 8 yes? 7 or an 8, that's not good at all."

"Well yeah… though most of that's just a fear factor. Most everything turns out fine."

"Fear factor? But why would that… oh that's right. Angels."

"I see it's clicked for you… though I'm not sure how or why. You've never dealt with angels before, not really anyway."

"Well, in a word? Spoilers."

I gave him a flat look. "It's really not fun being on the other side of that is it?"

"No, not really."

Our conversation was cut off by River shouting, "Doctor! Can you sonic me?"

One exasperated sigh later and the Doctor did as he was asked. Albeit under protest.

"Oh Doctor, you soniced her."

I only had one thing to say to that. "Like mother, like daughter."

"What was that?" The Doctor asked.

"Are you sure you left big ears behind you? Cause I swear that's the only way you could have heard me."

"Big ears? My ears aren't that big." He said, subconsciously covering his ears.

I pretended to consider it. "Yeah I suppose you're right. It's more your chin this time around." With that said, I walked off before he could ask about what I said. Though looking back I could have just said spoilers.

"There is nothing wrong with my chin either, Amy, tell him!"

Luckily for me however, Amy was on my side. "No, I think he's got a point. You could poke someone's eye out with that thing if you're not careful."

"Oh hardy har har, it's called regeneration. I'm not exactly going to win the lottery every time now am I?"

The three of us, River having overheard our conversation as well, laughed at the Doctor's response. It helped ease the tension I felt with the idea of walking into a death trap.

The Father and his clerics arrived and I helped them set up while River got the Doctor all caught up on the situation. But I was so caught up in my own head that I just about ran into someone else carrying a huge load of boxes. The collision was avoided but the boxes fell anyway.

"Oh I'm so sorry about that! Here, let me help."

"Oh thank you sir." The cleric said, gratefully.

"It's the least I can do, it's my fault you dropped these anyway." After we'd picked all the boxes up we put them over where they needed to be.

The cleric sighed before he turned and introduced himself. "I'm Bob, thanks again for your help sir."

'Bob? As in, Angel Bob?' I put on a smile to cover up my worry and concern. "Well it's nice to meet you Bob. And please don't call me 'sir'. My name is Harry."

Bob smiled back. "It's nice to meet you too sir, Harry."

As I was thinking about what I could do to save Bob, when River called out. "Doctor! Harry! Could you come here please?"

Before I left for River I looked back at Bob. I had to do something. "Hey Bob?"

"Yeah?"

"Don't ask me how or why I know this but later on, you're going to be out on patrol with two other soldiers. Don't lose sight of them. If you do, and if they try to call you over on the radio. Don't listen to them."

"I don't understand."

"I know you don't and I'm sorry I am. But please. Don't listen to them and get out of there as soon as possible. Promise me."

"I-I don't…" Bob shook his head.

"Please Bob. Please trust me."

Bob sighed but ultimately promised that he would be careful. He said that was the best he could do. Although that wasn't quite what I wanted, I would have to accept it.

I joined River, the Doctor and Amy in the trailer. Of course, the moment I stepped inside and saw the Angel on the tv, I had to fight every urge to run out of there. But I couldn't. Now that we were in there I didn't want to alert the angel that I knew it was there.

I had to make sure that everything went as close to script as I could. Any changes could start ripples and those ripples could turn into tidal waves. Tidal waves I didn't think the Doctor could handle, let alone me.

'Then again, isn't that really hypocritical of you?' A voice in my head rang. 'You can't just sit there and go; "We can't change things because we don't know what will happen!", and then change our mind just because someone's life is in danger.'

'That, that's different!'

'Really? How so?' The voice mocked. 'You cannot pick and choose when and where you're going to change things.'

'Oh my gosh, is this how I talk to others? It's a wonder nobody has punched me in the face yet.'

"So, what do you think?" River asked, referring to the video of the Angel. "It's from the Vault of the Byzantium. I ripped into it when me and Harry were on board."

"Wait a second, what?" Father Octavian asked. "You didn't say anything about bringing a second person on board."

"Does that really matter?"

"Yes!"

"Well if it helps, she didn't bring me. I got there all on my own." I interjected, hoping to prevent an argument.

"Oh? And how did you manage that?" The Father asked in a suspicious tone.

I lifted my arm up and pointed at the Vortex manipulator fused to my arm. The Father opened his mouth in horror while Amy shuddered and looked about ready to throw up.

"What happened to you?"

"I honestly don't know. I found this thing somewhere."

"How very descriptive." The Father said sarcastically.

I wasn't sure what it was but something in his tone set me off. "Well I'm sorry!" A look from River and I eased my tone a bit. "Look. The only thing I really remember is the pain of having a piece of metal merging with my flesh. I remember my screams and then I remember nothing and then I remember her." I finished as I pointed at River. "Is that enough information for you 'Father'?"

The Father looked suitably admonished and shamed, seeing as he was looking anywhere but me. "Yes."

I nodded. "Good. Now can we please get back to the matter at hand?" My tone was short but at the moment? I didn't care.

The Doctor nodded. "Yes. Right, of course. The Angel. The hands covering it's face confirms it."

"So you've encountered the Angels before?" The Father questioned.

"Once, on earth a long time ago. But those were just scavengers, barely surviving."

"But it's just a statue." Amy said.

"Sure it is. Just make sure you don't blink." I told her.

"What?"

"Where did it come from?"

That was where River spoke up again. "Oh, pulled from the ruins of Razbahan, end of the last century. It's been in private hands ever since. Dormant all that time."

I snorted, drawing attention. "I'm sorry but something like that isn't exactly something that just goes dormant. You rarely see a Weeping Angel on it's own either."

"Harry's right. There's a difference between dormant and patient after all."

"I'm sorry, can we go back to what Harry said? Something about not blinking?" Amy asked.

River took care of that question. "The Weeping Angels can only move if they're unseen. Or so the legend goes."

The Doctor explained further. "No, it's not a legend. It's a quantum lock. In the sight of any living creature, the Angels cease to exist. They're just stone. The ultimate defense mechanism."

"By being a stone?" Amy asked.

"How exactly do you kill a stone?" I asked in return, stopping her short.

After the meeting, everyone but me and Amy left. While Amy complained about not being needed I immediately tried to unplug the tv. I remembered that the remote didn't work but couldn't quite remember what I had to do.

"What are you doing?" Amy asked.

I looked back at her, still trying to unplug the screen. "Just don't like looking at it. It creeps me ou-out!" Looked back at the screen and the Angel had moved.

"Doctor Song? Did you have more than one clip of the Angel?" Amy asked.

"No, just the four seconds."

"Then how…"

"Amy, listen carefully. Go to the Doctor and tell him and River the Angel is moving."

"What? But that's not possible."

I barely resisted the urge to sigh. "Look, we really don't have time for this. I apologize for this in advance."

Before Amy could react I pushed her through the door. The second she landed the door slammed shut. I looked back at the Angel which had once again moved and it looked pissed.

'It was probably aiming for Amy from the start and I just got her away where it can't reach. The way she was acting it must have been like dangling a wounded animal in front of a starving lion.' So long as I looked at it though everything should be fine.

"Harry?" Amy called. I could hear her trying to open the door. "What's going on? Why can't I get the door to open?"

I gulped. Of course as I stared at it I could swear I was forgetting something important. Like there was something I had to do. 'That just figures doesn't it? You go through all the trouble of getting Amy out of trouble only to get yourself into more trouble.'

If I was gonna figure this out though I knew exactly who to call. "Amy! Get the Doctor and River and tell them this. The Angel on the video is alive!"

"What? How could it be alive? It's just a video-"

"Amy!" I yelled. "Please just tell the Doctor I need his help!"

Whether it was the fear in my voice or my insistence in doing as I said, I didn't know. All I knew was that shortly after I yelled at her, the Doctor came back. Panicked and slightly out of breath he asked, "Alright, I'm here, I'm here. Harry? What's going on?"

"Oh Doctor! Hey there. I'm just having a staring contest with a Weeping Angel hologram. Only problem is… I don't think this is a contest I can win!"

"We-well shouldn't you know what to do?"

"You would think, wouldn't you! But unfortunately it's been awhile and I don't remember everything. There's a few things I remember from this episode and unfortunately one of those things was not, how I stop the Weeping Angel!"

"Well how about switching the screen off?"

"That would be one of the things that doesn't work! The Angel will just switch it back on!" I shouted back. Don't judge, I was currently facing one of my worst fears and it was pissed at me. Tensions were high.

"Alright, alright that's ok, we'll figure it out. River give me the book."

"Harry, don't you worry we'll get you out!" River said, trying to reassure me.

Which I loved but I knew the opposite was true here. "Look I really appreciate you helping out River, really I do. But I'm afraid the only one getting me out of here is me! Doctor? Anything yet, cause my eyes are getting really watery!"

"Uh, umm well not really! Just the part about images, then some part about eyes… wait. Harry, don't look in the eyes!"

'Eyes? Oh crap!' That's exactly what I'd been doing this whole time. I quickly averted my gaze and hoped I'd gotten it in time. Then it hit me. Sort of. 'Images… images… that's important I know it is.' "Doctor? What was that thing about images again?"

"'Anything that takes the image of an Angel is itself an Angel.'"

I blinked… horrible thing to do I know but I remembered! 'The last second!' A quick look later and the Angel was closer but I found the remote. Which was right next to the Angel thanks to my blinking. 'Lucky me…'

After a little bending and twisting I managed to grab the remote and, "One, two, three, four!" The video paused on the static and the Angels power was cut off. The door was immediately ripped open and the Doctor, River and Amy raced in.

The Doctor raced past me, pulling the plug on the tv and started examining it.

"Doctor you don't have to do that you know? Like you said, the image of an Angel is an Angel. I paused the video when it didn't show the image of the Angel which means there's nothing to worry about." I told him as my heart beat came back down to a healthier level.

"River hug Harry."

"I'm fine, you don't have to." Though… I didn't stop River when she came over.

"You were brilliant." River said as she hugged me.

I wasn't quite as sure about that. "I mean all I did was remember what happened before."

"What do you mean by 'What happened before'? Before what?" Amy asked, her curiosity finally getting the best of her.

"Oh umm… well the thing is I'm not exactly from around here. I guess…" I still wasn't entirely convinced but River wouldn't lie to me. Not about this, I don't think.

Speaking of River, she apparently decided to explain things to both me and Amy. "You see Amy, Harry here is from another universe. One where the Doctor's life is a Tv show."

Amy snorted. "Oh come on, that's just mad. No seriously what did you mean by that."

"No, River's right about that." The Doctor agreed. "The thing you see attached to Harry's wrist is what brought him here. A Time Vortex Manipulator. An experimental one at that."

That was news to me… upsetting news. "I'm sorry… experimental?"

The Doctor blinked, apparently not having meant to say that. "Harry I'm sorry, I know you want answers but right now's not the best time, yes?"

Admonished and slightly embarrassed, I scratched the back of my neck. "Right… sorry."

"It's fine. After all, you kept Amy from going through this didn't you?"

That apparently hadn't occurred to Amy just yet, judging by her surprised face. "What? Really?"

"Umm… yeah. I mean you would have done exactly that I had done. You'd have been fine." I averted my gaze when the Doctor looked at me questionably. I didn't know why he looked at me but it was always best to let sleeping dragons lie.

"That was the Angel then?" River asked.

"That was a projection of the Angel. It's getting a good look at us."

"Scoping out it's prey." I quietly said with a shiver. That was closer than I'd ever wanted to be to an Angel in any lifetime.

"That's right." The Doctor seemed less than excited about that. "It's no longer dormant."

An explosion outside made me jump. Father Octavian called out to the Doctor who went out there along with Amy. As I went to follow, River grabbed me by the arm.

"What's up?"

"Why don't you tell me?"

"Nothing's up with me. Like I said before, I'm fine. Perfectly ok. Better than ok actually now that I'm out of ther-"

"Can it with the tough boy act for a second would ya? I know how much you hate the Angels."

I just kinda stared at her a while till I put on a fake smile and laughed. "H-hate, hate is a strong word. It's more of a strong dislike for them."

River didn't seem amused by my attitude. "They terrify you. You've said as much before."

That surprised me. I never really told anyone what scared me. At least not in a serious way. If it had been just anybody I'd say something like, "Yeah they scare me a little bit. But I mean come on you'd have to be dumb to not be scared of that."

But to seriously tell River about something like that… she's one of, if not my favorite character on Doctor Who. "River…" I didn't know what to say. No idea at all.

"Doctor Song? With us please." Father Octavian called.

"Coming!" She called back before looking at me again. "You ready? There's no turning back after this."

As soon as she said that, my head started to pound and it felt like something was in my eye. I stopped. 'Something in my eye? Oh no. No, no, no, no, please no. The Angel!'

"Harry?" River asked as she tapped me on the shoulder.

I'm not ashamed to admit that I jumped at the unexpected contact. When I met River's face I let out a wry laugh in an attempt to cover my fear. "I think it might already be too late for that River."

She smirked at that, not getting the dark undertones of what I'd said, and we descended down into the catacombs. The lovely dark catacombs filled to the brim with dying, starving, and desperate, Weeping Angels. Yay us.

Soon we were on the ground floor of the catacombs, with me gritting my teeth all the way in an attempt at staying calm. I hated Angels. So honestly the fact that I knew one was in my mind and I wasn't going insane was commendable to me.

"Where are we? What is this?" Amy questioned.

"It's called an Aplan Mortariam sometimes called a Maze of the Dead."

"Sounds absolutely wonderful." What can I say? When I'm nervous, I open my mouth and out comes sarcasm.

"What's that?

"Well if you happen to be a creature of living stone…" The Doctor started, trailing off as he looked around. "... the perfect hiding place."

"Well I guess this makes it a bit trickier."

I snorted. "Yeah, imagine if you didn't know what the angel looked like. This sort of idea would be impossible."

Amy stiffened, then turned to me. "That's not some kind of prophecy is it?"

"What?"

"Well you just said… and since… you know."

I gave Amy a blank stare, practically screaming at her to be quiet. But since I definitely did not want to have this conversation with Father Snoopy off the left of me. "No."

"Prophecy? What is she talking about?"

'I shouldn't have even thought about it. Think fast Harry.' I turned to the Father with a bewildered smile. "Honestly I have no idea. I mean I told her that it was gonna rain one day, which it did. And now she must think I can predict the future or something."

That last bit was directed to Amy who seemed to catch what I was trying to say. She had a nervous smile and mouthed an apology to me.

"It's fine." I mouthed back.

"Whatever." The Father dismissed, getting back to the Angel matter. "A stone Angel let loose amongst stone statues. A lot harder than I'd prayed for."

"A needle in a haystack." River said.

"A needle that looks like hay. A hay-like needle of death. A hay-like needle of death in a-"

"Doctor? Please just stop already." I asked.

"Er… right. Yours was fine."

It made me chuckle at just how awkward the 11th Doctor was. That was good, laughing was good. Laughing would take the edge off. Now the fact that it wasn't working was something that I ignored.

It was while I tried to ignore everything that Father Octavian gave orders to his clerics. "Right, check every single statue in this chamber. You know what we're looking for. Complete visual inspection. One question. How do we fight it?"

"We find it and hope." The Doctor said.

"Another question… couldn't we just smash it?" I'd always been curious about that. Like Amy said before, they're just stone statues.

But the Doctor looked at me wide eyed terrified. "Nooo, that's about the worst thing you could do."

"Really?"

"Yes really. All that will do is make them mad. You do that, and nothing, not time or space or anything else could stop them all from hunting you down."

And now I was infinitely more terrified of the Weeping Angels than I was before. "Got it… no smashing."

I saw Bob go off on inspection and I would have gone off to warn him again. I would have offered to go with him. I would have told him to not be afraid. But I couldn't. I couldn't because I was just too afraid myself.

'Coward!' A voice in my head shouted. I couldn't even deny it. 'I am a coward. And I am so, so sorry Bob. Please listen to what I told you before. Please, for your own sake, listen.'

I started to hyperventilate. "I'm so, so sorry." My eye started to itch and the next thing I knew, sand started to fall from it. Which only made me panic more.

Next thing I knew, someone grabbed my shoulder. As tense and high strung as I was, I barely managed to hold back my scream. When I looked around it was only River.

"What's wrong? And don't say nothing or I'll whack you upside the head."

I couldn't hold it anymore. "I forgot!"

My outburst was so sudden that it took River for a loop. "I'm sorry what? What did you forget?"

"I forgot to not look in its eyes."

River's grip got tighter in shock. "Ok. Ok, so what does that mean? What's going to happen?"

"The image of an Angel is an Angel. The image being the reflection in my eyes. There is an Angel in my eyes and it is smiling!" By the end, the words were falling out of my mouth almost faster than I could think of them. I was utterly terrified and there was nothing I could do to stop it.

"Harry! Harry, focus for me please. Let's focus on the facts ok? Like this is just a story. Can you do that for me?"

I nodded shakily. Right now I would do anything. "A story. Right, ok a story, what's next?"

"The facts, Harry. What happens next? What happens to you specifically?"

"Umm, ok umm well, the Angel is going to make me count."

"Count? Why?"

"To make me afraid."

River gritted her teeth and her grip tightened but she didn't lose her cool. "Ok count from where?"

"From ten. And I won't know I'm doing it."

"Ok and when you hit zero?"

"I die." Somehow River was right. Talking it out was somehow making me calmer.

"So what do we do?"

Now that I was calmer, I could do what I had to do. I closed my eyes. "My eyes have to stay shut."

"Then why haven't you been doing that?" River asked in frustration.

I faltered, as I didn't want to say it out loud. Least of all to River. "At first I did… until I just kinda… stopped."

There was silence for what felt like forever. Then came, "God you're hard work young."

"Young?" I was 22 for crying out loud. Now for Time Lords that was like toddler age but for a human that was a pretty decent age for an adult. A young adult sure but still.

"Spoilers, now keep those eyes shut and let's go."

River finally let go of my shoulder and grabbed my hand instead as she started to lead me on. "Do we have to tell the Doctor about all this?" I honestly expected her to say yes.

But she surprised me. "No. No, we'll fix this. What the Doctor doesn't know won't kill him. You just focus on keeping your eyes shut." Then River gripped my hand harder and started tugging me along. "I'll be your eyes till then."

"So, what's a Maze of the Dead?" Amy asked as we had caught up to her.

"Oh, it's not as bad as it sounds." River started as she dug into her backpack. "It's just a labyrinth with dead people living in the walls."

A moment of silence passed until it was broken by River who heard what exactly she'd said.

"Okay, that was fairly bad."

"Well I mean to be honest it's really not." I interjected, still being sure to keep my eyes shut.

"How is it not bad?" Amy asked.

"Well, think about it. It's essentially a cemetery."

"You're not helping your case." River said mildly.

I continued as though she had said nothing. "But, unlike a cemetery where they decompose and turn into fertilizer due to being in the ground, being in the stone walls means that, well depending on how they were sealed inside, the bodies should be perfectly preserved."

After I finished, there was silence. I could feel the stares of both River and Amy, one feeling somewhat amused, while the other felt slightly horrified.

"Were you dropped on the head as a child, Harry? Repeatedly?"

I was confused. "No, I don't think so. Why do you ask?"

Amy and River shared a glance before they said. "No reason."

There was a brief moment of silence before River spoke again to Amy. "Right then, give me your arm Amy. This, won't hurt a bit." Shortly after there was a large hissing sound as River injected something into Amy.

"Ow!" Amy yelled as I winced in sympathy pain. I hated needles.

River, however, just smiled. "There you see? I lied. Harry, you're up."

I cringed. "Do I have to?"

River was silent for a good while. Long enough for it to become a bit uncomfortable. Then she spoke. "This is a viro-stabilizer. Stabilizes your metabolism against radiation, drive burn, anything. You're going to need it when we get up to that ship."

I honestly sat there and thought about it before ultimately I just rolled up my sleeves. 'Dagnabit anyway. Ok that hurt!' I thought as River stuck me with the syringe.

"You see? That wasn't so bad now was it?" River teased.

I was unamused. "Screw you."

And she was unfazed. "Maybe someday. You're a little too young for me."

My eyes snapped open at that. 'What!' I couldn't retort to that even if I wanted to.

While I was still in shock Amy decided that was the perfect time to talk to River about the Doctor. "So, what's he like? Because you know him in the future don't you?"

"Who the Doctor? Or Harry?"

'Of course she was going to bring me in on it.'

Amy sent a devious smile at me. "Either or."

"Well the Doctor's the Doctor. Now Harry however." She said my name with an alluring tone and my eye twitched.

"Yes?" Amy asked with barely hidden enthusiasm.

"Well Harry is so much more than just Harry."

Amy smirked. "Oh, ok. Well that's… that's very helpful. Should I write that down?"

"If you want to know more about the Doctor, why don't you ask Harry." River told Amy, which made her look at me with eager eyes. "I'm sure he would be able to tell you more than me."

Just as I was about to curse River out in my head… again, she flashed her torch over to said Doctor. "And yes we are."

"Sorry?" He asked.

"Talking about you."

"I wasn't listening. I'm busy."

"Oh yes, busy busy. Doc, your thingymado is upside down." I pointed out, not even looking in his direction as I continued to stare at River. Who in return kept smiling at me.

"Right…" He muttered, embarrassed.

Amy whispered to River. "You are totally his wife."

"Oh Amy, Amy, Amy. This is the Doctor we're talking about. Do you really think it could be anything that simple?"

"Yep."

River took in a deep breath as she looked at Amy. "You're good. I'm not saying you're right but… you are very good." She walked away, making sure to give me a look.

'What was that about?'

Amy pouted at River's response and turned to me. "Well?"

I smirked. Well she was nothing if not persistent. I brought a finger to my lips and said. "Spoilers." She pouted while I laughed maniacally in my head. Now I truly understood why River did that. It was so hilarious.

After my fun I walked away and joined up with River again who smacked me on the head. "You're supposed to keep your eyes shut."

I winced and quickly shut my eyes again. 'Right. That's what the look was for.' "Well you were supposed to be my eyes."

She winced. "Yeah, alright I'll give you that."

Then gunfire went off and my eyes snapped open again, much to River's dismay. When I looked over, I was shocked to see that it was Bob.

'He, he's alive? Did he listen to what I told him? No… if he had, I'd know. Heck, we'd all know. Oh crap… did I get the timing off? I had a panic attack and told River about the Angel for nothing?'

I would have continued to beat myself up for what happened if it wasn't for Father Octavian. Who went up to Bob and started to tear into him. As he did so I started getting angry at the so-called Father.

But it was when he said; "-it would be good, it would be very good, if we could all remain calm in the presence of décor." that I lost it for a moment.

I marched right up in-between Bob and the "Father" and asked. "Are you seriously criticizing him for being afraid?"

He looked down at me with unforgiving eyes. "There is no room for error here. We cannot allow fear in our hearts. We are men of God."

"Since when does being men of God mean we can't be afraid? What is so wrong with being afraid?"

"When men are afraid they may falter. Without it-"

"They are partially dead. Men without fear are not truly alive. Because being scared is a part of being alive. Accept it 'Father'. Walk through it."

I would have gone further when the Doctor came between us. "That's enough of that now. There is an Angel in here, we don't have the time for squabbling."

The Father and I reluctantly let the matter go. Of course, my frustration and annoyance with Father Octavian was redirected to another when she slapped the back of my head. 'She', being River, of course.

"Eyes shut Harry. Keep your eyes shut!" She chastised.

"Right, right. Can't say I'm sorry though, that felt good. I will say that I got a little heated there."

"I'll say." River said. I could practically feel the look she was giving me. "I can honestly say I didn't expect you to get like that."

I shrugged. "He bugs me."

"Yes, that bit I noticed. What I'm not really clear on though, is why he bugs you so much?"

"He's supposed to be a religious man. Yet he acts more like a military man who grew up in the church."

We were called away suddenly by the "Father" a little later. "Let's get a move on!"

In a serious tone I said. "River, point me at his face. I'll punch, you point."

"Now, now, he's still my parole officer."

"All the more reason. You didn't do anything wrong. And he's too much of an asshole to you."

River laughed as she grabbed my hand again and walked away with me. "Now we both know that's not true."

"You may have a questionable moral compass but as far as I know, you've never killed anyone. Not in cold blood."

"As far as you know." She repeated.

"You wouldn't."

We went back to trekking through the archways upwards. It was kind of hard to do that with my eyes closed, even with River being my guide. She couldn't be too obvious about the fact that I couldn't see.

Any chance she had she would quietly discuss with me about things we could do about the angel in my head. Eventually I broke and told her that everything would be fine so long as we kept going. She didn't like it but said she trusted me.

It felt odd… having someone's trust, especially Rivers, without having done anything to earn it. Same with the Doctor. He seemed to trust me like he trusted any of his companions. Which… considering we just met, was confusing to me.

"Isn't there a chance that all of this could come crashing down on us? A whole ship did just crash up there." Amy asked curiously.

"Incredible builders, the Aplans." River said.

The Doctor nodded. "Had dinner with the Chief Architect once. Two heads are better than one." He said, looking up at the ceiling.

"What, you mean you helped him?"

"Aplans have two heads, Amy." I said as I rubbed my own head. That Angel in there was not happy being put on lock down like that. But it sure seemed determined to not make things easy for me.

"Harry's right." The Doctor complimented, before he turned to River. "Now, that book of yours, what did it say at the very end?"

"Hang on." She replied as she dug through her bag until she found it.

"Read it to me." The Doctor asked.

"What if we had ideas that could think for themselves? What if one day our dreams no longer needed us? When these things occur and are held to be true, the time will be upon us. The time… of Angels."

I shivered at that quote. It was, to me, one of the creepiest lines in Doctor Who. The person who wrote that clearly wasn't the sanest of people.

The climb continued and I was starting to struggle a bit. I wasn't exactly the fittest person around, though I suspected that it might have been a side effect of having the Angel in my head. It was also getting hard to really focus. There was something but I just couldn't remember.

"Are we there yet? It's one hell of a climb." Amy complained as she too struggled to keep up.

"The Maze is on six levels, representing the ascent of the soul. Only two left to go."

"Lovely species, the Aplans. We should visit them some time."

"I thought they were all dead?" Amy asked.

The Doctor smirked. "So is Virginia Woolf. I'm on her bowling team. Very relaxed, sort of cheerful. Well that's having two heads, of course. You're never short of a snog with an extra head."

"Doctor, there's something. I don't know what it is." River said. I knew there was something too, but my head was now pounding like a jackhammer. If it wasn't for River's hand I might have fallen over trying to remember.

"Harry?" River asked, her voice showing concern.

The Doctor, of course, took no notice of this. "Yeah. There's something wrong. Don't know what it is either. Working on it. Of course then they started having laws on self marrying. I mean, what was that about? But that's the church for you." He babbled, before finally taking notice of Father Octavian. "Er, no offense, Bishop."

"Doctor the church has no effect over any laws of people." I meant for that to come out calmly, but the pain in my head made it come out in a shout. I may not have liked the guy but he was the problem. Not religion… most of the time.

That got everyone's attention. "Harry!" The Doctor was apparently worried though I didn't know why. Next thing I knew the Doctor grabbed my other hand. "Harry, what's going on?"

The pain in my head grew more and more. I tried to hold it in but it came out somewhat. "Ahhh!"

"Ok, that's it we have to tell him Harry."

"Tell me what?" The Doctor sternly asked. "What happened?"

"He looked into the eyes of an Angel."

He was not happy to hear that. "And what? You didn't think I would need to know this?"

"Stop!" I shouted. "It wasn't supposed to be like this!"

That got their attention. "What do you mean 'wasn't supposed to happen'?" The Doctor asked.

The next to speak was Amy. "Oh my god… this was supposed to happen to me wasn't it?"

"That's the real reason why you got her out of there wasn't it? You knew this would happen and you were protecting her."

"The pain! Is new!"

"The pain is new… Harry, talk to me Harry! What's happening to you?"

"The image of an Angel is an Angel!"

"Sorry?"

I repeated. "The image of an Angel is an Angel."

The Doctor gasped. Something that, by the way River's grip got stronger, obviously worried her. "Yes there's an Angel in his mind. We know that, and Harry is already doing something about it!

"You knew about this too? Why didn't either of you think to tell me?"

"Don't get upset with Harry!" River warned. "I was the one to convince him to not say anything! He said as long as he kept his eyes closed, he'd be fine."

That bit of info made the Doctor pause. "You've had your eyes shut this whole time?"

I nodded, a most regrettable action. "Mostly yeah."

"Ok then obviously the Angels been put on pause. But that obviously doesn't explain the headache you've got."

"Well I just thought that was because I took it's prey away from it. No offense Amy."

"None taken."

"It wasn't very happy with me then."

The sound of footsteps told me that the Doctor was pacing. "So the Angel is in your head. It knows what you're doing and you've already riled it up… whatever it was supposed to do, I don't think it cares anymore." The footsteps stopped. "It's trying to kill you."

"Doctor!" River admonished.

"Oh yes, because him not knowing is going to help him out tremendously!" The Doctor retorted.

The next thing I knew, the Doctor put his hands on my head. For some reason I didn't like this and tried to get out. "What are you doing?"

"Keep still please. I'm going to try and put up a mental barrier between your mind and the Angel's."

"I don't like this."

"That's not you talking, that's the Angel, now keep still and let me do this."

I was starting to get scared but kept still as he went into my mind. I knew the instant he'd done what he'd set out to do when my mind, my head was filled with relief. So much so that my eyes shot open, my legs felt weak and I suddenly knew what I'd forgotten.

"The heads!" I shouted.

"Harry, keep your eyes shut."

"No! Not now! I've wasted too much time! We have to go now!"

"Go? Why?" Father Octavian asked, suspiciously.

I ignored him and looked at the Doctor. "The Aplans Doctor! They have two heads!"

"What's that supposed to mean?" Amy asked.

For a second, just one, the Doctor looked confused. Then realization struck and he shared a horrified glance with River. "Oh no."

"How could we have missed that?" River asked.

"I don't know, a perception filter perhaps? Or maybe we were just being thick." The Doctor said as he moved in front of the group, flashing his light on the statues.

"Okay. I want all of you to switch off your torches."

"Sir?" Asked one of the clerics.

"Just do it."

Without question, everyone shut off their torches. Leaving only the Doctor's still on. "Okay. I'm gonna turn off this one too. Just for a moment."

"Are you sure about this?"

"No."

I grabbed Rivers hand again as the last light went out for a second. If I hated the Angels, I hated the idea of being in the dark with them even more.

"They moved!"

The Doctor ran back along the trail, flashing his light at the statues as he went. "They're Angels! All of them!"

"They can't be!"

"Clerics, keep watching them!" The Doctor said as he continued back.

We were getting closer to the call from Angel Bob and I was worried. What if he didn't listen? What if he didn't stay away?

'Please Bob. Please listen to what I said…"

"But there was only one Angel on the ship. Just one. I swear." River insisted.

Then Amy theorized, "Could they have been here already?"

The Doctor turned to the group and asked, "The Aplans. What happened? How did they die out?"

"Nobody knows.

"We know."

"They don't look like Angels." Octavian observed.

"They've probably been down here for centuries. They're starving to death." I said, every bone in my body telling me to run.

"Ahh, good eye Harry." The Doctor praised, smiling back at me.

"Is that why they haven't gotten us yet? Cause you said they were fast." Amy questioned.

"Yeah, probably. It's just like Harry said, they're dying. Losing their form."

"Losing their image."

The Doctor nodded. "And their image is their power… power." He clapped his hands as he realized. "Power!"

"Doctor?"

"Don't you see? All that radiation spilling out the drive burn. The crash of the Byzantium wasn't an accident. It was a rescue mission for the Angels. We're in the middle of an army and it's waking up!

'I didn't need that image.' Even if I knew it beforehand and knew that things would be alright… mostly. There was still the other clerics and the bishop. Sure I didn't like him but I didn't want him dead.

"We have to get out of here fast."

…Why was this spot my first adventure again? Why couldn't I have landed in any other space adventure on a ship? Like the one with the dinosaurs and robots? That was every boy's, and man's even if they were less likely to admit it, dream! Dinosaurs and robots! Couldn't get better than that!

"Bob, Angelo, Christian, come in, please." Octavian called. There was nothing but silence in return. "Any of you, come in."

"It's Bob sir, sorry sir."

As soon as I heard Bob's voice, I inhaled sharply and looked over at Octavian, silently pleading. 'Please, please, please, oh please Bob. Tell me you listened! Tell me you got away.'

"Bob, are Angelo and Christian with you? All the statues are active. I repeat, all the statues are active."

"I know, sir. Angelo and Christian are dead, sir. The statues killed them, sir." Bob replied, in the exact way he did in the show.

'Come to think of it… if he did get away, why didn't he tell us?' It was a thought I wish I hadn't had. "He's dead." I said to myself, closing my eyes again as the Doctor snatched Octavian's communicator.

"Bob, Scared Bob, it's me, the Doctor."

"I'm talking to-'

The Doctor pointedly ignored Octavian's disgruntled tone. "Where are you now?"

Something Octavian didn't appreciate. "I'm talking to my-"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, shut up." The Doctor rudely said.

"I'm on my way up to you, sir. I'm homing in on your signal."

"Ah, well done, Bob. Scared keeps you fast. Told you, didn't I? Your friends, Bob. What did the Angel do to them?"

"Snapped their necks, sir."

Now I couldn't see anyone's reaction but I assumed that confused them. At least, judging by the silence anyway.

"See, that's odd. That's not how the Angels kill you, they displace you in time. Unless they needed the bodies for something." The Doctor said as he worked on a theory.

Then Octavian took back his communicator. "Bob, did you check their data packs for vital signs?"

I sighed, thankful my eyes were shut since I didn't have to look at anyone. "I wouldn't bother, Bishop. The Angels don't leave you alive."

"If they're alive, we may be able to initiate a rescue plan."

Now it was the Doctor's turn with the communicator. "Don't be an idiot! Like Harry said, they don't leave you alive!" After that, he turned to Bob… Angel Bob. "Bob, keep running, but tell me, how did you escape?"

"I didn't escape, sir. The Angel killed me too."

I winced at that, and at the silent pause that followed. The Doctor then continued. "What do you mean, the Angel killed you too?"

Angel Bob was more than happy to answer that. "Snapped my neck, sir. Wasn't as painless as I expected, but it was pretty quick, so that was something."

"If you're dead then how can I be talking to you?"

"You're not talking to me, sir. The Angel has no voice. It stripped my cerebral cortex from my body and re-animated a version of my consciousness to communicate with you. Sorry about the confusion."

"So when you say you're on your way up to us…"

"It's the Angel that's coming, sir, yes." Angel Bob confirmed.

"No way out." The Doctor stated as Octavian gave out his orders to the group.

"Then we get out through the wreckage. Go!"

"Go, go, go. All of you, run!" The Doctor added.

I started to move as well, when someone grabbed my hand and River whispered to me, "Just this once, keep your eyes open. We can't afford for you to fall and get hurt."

It made sense to me, so I opened my eyes and ran with her. Even after I had my eyes open though, River's grip remained. Something I thought was weird but now wasn't the time to bring that up with her.

"You know that wasn't your fault right?" She asked, all of a sudden.

I wasn't sure what she meant by that. "Sorry?"

"Bob. It's not your fault."

My eyes widened in shock a moment, before they became sullen again. "Tell that to his family or your watchdog for that matter."

"I don't care about them, I care about you and I'm telling you, it wasn't your fault. There was nothing you could have done."

"Yeah… I guess so."

Suddenly, she stopped. It was so sudden that I barely kept from running into her. Another hand was placed on my arm. "No Harry. You're not listening. I know this is your first time and I know how lost you're feeling. But nothing that happens is your fault. I don't care that you know what's supposed to happen and I'm sorry for the burden that places on you. You just have to keep going."

"Uhh… ok? Ok, will do." That actually worried me more than it helped me.

Apparently River realized that too. "Ooh, the Doctor was always better at this sort of thing. I'm just not used to… I never knew. Never wanted."

"You never wanted to see me at my beginning."

River looked like she was about to say something when she just shook her head instead. "Later, right now we still need to move."

And just like that, we were running again. Running till we met the clerics under the ship. The Angels were all around us and the lights kept flickering. 'Just great! Trapped in a cave with flickering lights. How utterly fantastic. And I still have to shut my eyes.' Which I did… however reluctantly.

"Any suggestions?"

"The statues are advancing on all sides. We don't have the climbing equipment to reach the Byzantium." Octavian said.

"There's no way up, no way back, and no way out. No pressure, but this is usually when you have a really good idea." River said, I assumed she was talking to the Doctor.

"There's always a way out." He said, as the gravity globe flickered, something I saw even through my closed eyes. "There's always a way out." The Doctor repeated, as Angel Bob's voice came on the communicator.

"Doctor? Can I speak to the Doctor please?"

"Hello Angels. What's your problem?"

"Your power will not last much longer, and the Angels will be with you shortly. Sorry, sir."

The way Angel Bob said that, made the Doctor suspicious. "Why are you telling me this?"

"There's something the Angels are very keen on telling you."

"Which is?"

"I died in fear."

You could hear a pin drop in the silence that followed that sentence. I grimaced, wishing I could speak out against that blatant lie. Unfortunately this was one of the moments I did not want to mess with. If I did, and everyone died here? I would never forgive myself. Neither would the Doctor for that matter.

"I'm sorry?" The Doctor asked.

Angel Bob replied, saying, "You told me my fear would keep me alive, but I died afraid, in pain and alone. You made me trust you, and when it mattered, you let me down. I'm sorry, sir. The Angels were very keen for you to know that."

"What are they doing?" Amy whispered beside me to River.

"They're trying to make him angry."

"They'll regret that." I added, quietly. "That much Amy, is a prophecy."

Speaking of the Doctor's anger, it was time for it to show. "Well then, the Angels have made their second mistake because I'm not going to let that pass. I'm sorry you're dead, Bob, but I swear to whatever's left of you, they will be sorrier."

"I'm sorry again, sir, but could I talk with Harry as well please?"

The random request gave everyone pause. Not to mention made me grow worried, more than ever before. The Doctor then asked, "Why?"

"There's something the Angels are keen to tell him as well."

"Then give me a reason. Why on any planet would I let you speak with him? You're dealing with me, not him." The Doctor said threateningly as I opened my eyes again, much to River's displeasure.

"It would give you time, sir. Something you're running out of."

"No, I-" He stopped as I put my hand on his shoulder.

"You know he has a point. Keep thinking. I'll be fine." I told him as I took the communicator. "What do you want, Angel Bob?"

"The Angels, sir. They wish to ask you something."

"Ok…" 'That was ominous.' I thought to myself, suspiciously.

"How does it feel, sir?"

'Just come out and say whatever you wanna say dang it.' "How does what feel?"

"How does it feel to know that you will be the cause of millions of deaths? Like you are for mine?"

My heart almost stopped when he said that. "I'm sorry… what?" I barely managed to keep my voice steady there.

"The Angels, sir. They almost wish they could be you. To witness the destruction, the pain and suffering you allow to happen. Almost."

'Destruction? Pain and suffering?' I knew he, it, was just trying to get to me. Thing was… it was working, but I wouldn't let it know. That would be the last thing I would tell it. I swallowed hard. "Is that all Angel?"

"Do you not have the empathy to feel the weight that comes with that burden, Diviner?"

'Diviner?' I thought to myself in question as the Doctor took back the communicator in a rage.

"Right there, Angel Bob! Right there, you have made your third and final mistake. You've just insulted one of my companions!"

"But you're trapped, and about to die, sir." The Angel said back.

"Yeah. I'm trapped, and you know what? This trap has got a great mistake in it. One great, big, whopping mistake!"

"What mistake, sir?"

The Doctor ignored the question, in favor of asking the group one question. Eventually he got to me and asked the same question. "Do you trust me Harry?"

I managed a small smile. "To infinity and beyond Doctor." That earned a great, big smile from the Doctor as he turned back to Octavian.

"You trust me, then give me your gun. I'm about to do something incredibly stupid and dangerous. When I do, jump." The Doctor emphasized that by jumping in place.

"Jump where?" Obviously, Octavian had some problems with this plan.

"Just jump, high as you can. Come on, leap of faith Bishop. On my signal."

"What signal?"

"You won't miss it." The Doctor said as he raised the gun up to the ceiling.

Angel Bob then decided that he had been patient enough. "Sorry, can I ask again? You mentioned a mistake we made?"

"Oh, big, big mistake. Really huge. Didn't anyone ever tell you? There's one thing you never put in a trap. If you're smart, if you value your continued existence, if you have any plans of seeing tomorrow, there is one thing you never, ever put in a trap." He ended, his voice showing his rage once more.

"And what would that be, sir?"

The Doctor smirked and said, "Me." before shooting the gravity globe.
