Foreword (kinda)

Truth be told, I am somewhat split as to whether or not writing this is a good idea. This is a bit of a successor to Overlord: Reaper of Souls, whose concept I found interesting (that and a post that wondered if a broken class would be unlocked if one played an evil race with a holy build). Then things started to drift a bit. I had a lot of fun writing it, but I am ultimately unsure if anybody would be interested in yet another story where Ainz is marginally different.

The original idea was to have an original character, despite me disliking self inserts. The reason was, since I was taking so many liberties with the character, can I even call it Momonga, Ainz or Suzuki Satoru anymore? It had become something wildly different.

Then I realised that I didn't really want to read (or write) someone else's story. I wanted our main bloke, Momonga, center stage.

Of course, the problem I am left with is that he'll likely end up being very OOC.

Here's what to expect (might not be your cup of tea if you dislike any of the presented concepts):

- Nothing too well thought out. I'm here to have fun, and by my account, so are you! If you're looking for well-crafted, clever stories, just read anything by ZeroSenpai or AtheistBasementDragon. This is a retelling with many liberties taken.

- As this is about a change in emotional states, a lot of focus will end up on Ainz's interactions with other people in addition to OP bullshit.

- No players other than Ainz. (I've been thinking of Supreme Beings, but that's about it.) Or at the very least... No players playing an active role. If I were to make a flashback to the olden days of Yggdrasil, then I might have to dream up a few new characters.

- Deviation as time goes on. It will start off relatively aligned with canon, but grow further and further apart as time goes on- when exploring concepts canon has yet to touch on/won't touch on. My only rule is that it shouldn't make the reader go "wow that was stupid" or completely shatter the world building.

- Me taking liberties in how I write combat, which is another way of saying "yeah i might have made ainz too broken lmao". In other words, levelcaps, items, gameplay mechanics, balancing... Prepare to get ignored! Hopefully it'll still make sense and be consistent, but beware the fact that Ainz is really OP.

Not that it would make that much of a difference due to how weak the New World is (unless he goes around curb stomping dragon lords).

- Okay, I get that this is like the lowest bar to clear, but hear me out- Harem. Yeah I get it, I can't really say that I care for it... But there are a lot of waifus in Overlord and I'll be damned if Ainz doesn't do something now that he at the very least has a libido. Let's hope I can do the wonderful characters justice.

There won't be too much focus on the romantic/sexual aspects, but it will be there.

Basically because I'm a big softie who wants those infatuated with Ainz to finally shoot their shot.
