So, this has been an on-going thing on my tumblr (we are all of legend now, with dashes between every word!) and I've decided to collect everything together on Fanfiction! This collection is an entirely prompt driven one and I am completely open to expanding it! If you're sending in prompts, please do so through tumblr (which you don't need to have an account for) or fanfiction (which you do need to have an account for); I'd prefer not to take prompts through reviews. Thanks!
So, this collection has been called "The Duke Universe" on tumblr. The prompts all fall within the same basic framework: in her 20s, Rose is married to a man named Duke Eloi, when she meets Jake Long again. The prompts are not all compliant with one another, however.
I hope that all makes sense! These chapters will be uploaded in the same order and the same format as I originally received the prompts on tumblr, approximately one a day until this series is all caught up!

✊ Jake and Rose please, but maybe in a setting where rose is getting married to another man? Or any scenario you want to write about. Thank you so much for doing this.

There had never been a more beautiful bride. Jake knew it was wrong to think it. It was wrong for him to even be here, crouched out of sight like some kind of stalker. But, he couldn't help himself. Rose was getting married. And, though in this life time, she had never been his, he would always remembered the life time where he had been hers. It was what he had given her up for; she wanted a normal life and now she had it. She was getting married to a nice, normal man. One who treated her well. One who she loved. One who she had pinned up her hair and put on a veil for. Who would dance for her in her white dress with the lace sleeves. He knew it wasn't healthy for him to be here but he'd been lying if he said that he never thought of her. He'd be lying if he said he hadn't thought of planning his own meet cutes with Rose and trying it all again.
He had always been talked out of it. By Trixie and Spud and Gramps and Haley and Fu and himself. The gift of a normal life was what he had promised her. It was why he had saved her. She would never have a normal life with him.
"Jake."
He didn't turn around. He had know that his friends would find him. That Trixie and Spud would drag him away.
"Don't do this to yourself, man."
Spud was right. It was hard for him to accept but Spud was right.
He cast one last look at Rose, gathering her bouquet in her hands while her mother held up her train and her bridesmaids snapped pictures. The limo was waiting for her, her father opening the door for her.
Jake want to self-destruct. It would be so easy to. He wanted to interrupt. He wanted her to know him and he wanted to know her, but that wasn't the world that they lived in. He took a deep breath and turned to face his friends, knowing that he would never be able to really turn his back on Rose.
"I need a beer."
Trixie and Spud exchanged a look, reminiscent of tired parents trying to decide what was good for their son. In the end, they nodded, figuring the best way to protect him from himself would be to go with him. Trixie looped her arms through his.
"Alright, Jakey, let's go get a beer."
The sound of Rose's laughter reached his ears but Spud looped his arms through Jake's on the other side, forcing him to keep going forward.
