I know what you guys are thinking. Let me explain.
Life comes at you in ways you least expect it, be it new responsibilities, new expenses, or your laptop crapping out on you for no fucking reason at all. After that, I went back into gaming to try and keep my motivation up. Come Thanksgiving, my XBox suddenly dies! Then, I went ahead and got a job at Walmart to save up for a Series X and a new laptop, deal with my motivation draining, all that biz. After a while, working two jobs took its toll on me because I had to schedule damn near everything about my life around them and then some. Then I quit working at Walmart, went to Florida for a bit, came back, and now I have some time to myself again before I go job hunting again, yay!
Anyways, during that time, I also came up with several ideas thanks to the chaos that is the Epsi Discord server, but I can't turn them all into stories. That is what this is for; to keep these one-shots, challenges, story prompts, etc, in a place for you all to enjoy! There will be another one of these, of course, but we'll deal with Red, White, and Blue-Balls at a later date. For now, just enjoy Mah Bullshit!
Lenore didn't know what would've come after she burned to ashes from the sun's light. She knew that she would die, but what came after that? What comes when one's own life finally reached the end and was claimed by death after so many years? Was it truly as cold as most make it out to be? Was there Hell waiting for her, or would she simply cease to exist? Devoured by the jaws of Death itself to nourish the entity?
As she felt herself perish, she felt… cool. Not cold as one would expect, but not as warm as the rays of the sun that burned her. Yes, cool. Perhaps death wasn't such a miserable fate after all.
She perished with a smile, her body going numb as she perished.
She laid there, enjoying the warm coolness that surrounded her body, her mind and soul… at peace.
…
…
… She immediately felt something was wrong when she felt a strange warmth on her forehead. Sweat?
With a gasp, Lenore sat back up from the ground, disoriented from the sudden lack of sunlight that was around her just mere moments ago. She could've sworn that the sun was rising just now!
"Where..? Where am I?" She asked no one but herself as she began to look around. To her sides were strange buildings that reached higher than an inn, yet they were more rectangular than any building she's seen before, not to mention that they were made of bricks similar to roads and kingdom walls. "What is this place?"
She got up from the ground, feeling a sense of weakness as she staggered to one of the walls, quickly taking note of the open entrance out of the alley. It would seem that there were people merely a little distance away, lighting the streets with something for some reason. However, before Lenore could go towards them, she heard an ominous laughter behind her, followed by some strange gibberish. She turned around to see three men and… a Night Beast? Walking towards her. The leader had a smile on his face as he srutted towards her, saying something in the same gibberish. Was he trying to talk to her? Whatever the case, it was clear that they did not possess good intentions towards her.
Oh well. She was getting hungry, anyway.
After the most satisfying ass-whooping ever written
"Quirks…" Lenore whispered to herself as she practiced this… Japanese. It wasn't a language that existed in her time, after all, but absorbing the blood and remnant memories of the men that tried to attack her gave her a fair bit more knowledge about her situation, such as where and when she ended up in. To think that she was in another country, centuries after she thought she perished. More surprising was seeing how humanity grew across the world and through the passage of time.
Another thing to note were these "quirks." She never would've expected for humanity to suddenly develop fantastic abilities out of nowhere, from elemental manipulation to having animalistic features. Perhaps there was potential for these humans after all.
Before her mind could go to a darker place, though, she heard a crashing sound from a nearby alleyway. Curious, she went towards it, knowing that she could handle whatever tried to pose a threat there.
What she found was not what she expected. Instead of some animal or criminal, she found a young man with green hair, wearing an equally green uniform. He had a young-looking face, almost seeming innocent like a child, betraying the strong body that was under the suit.
"My, are you alright?" Lenore asked the young man in a heavily accented Japanese, who opened his eyes to reveal irises as green as his hair. "That was quite the fall you must have gone through."
"Oh, I'm, uh, alright, ma'am!" The young lad said nervously as he picked himself back up. "Just training my quirk!"
"Training?" The vampiress questioned, trying to look through the memories of her recent prey, before her eyes widened in realization. "Ah, are you perhaps a "hero?" Might I ask you for your name, if you don't mind." It would be a boon to have another source of information close to her, but first, she was going to need to build a connection. Easy for a "diplomat" such as herself.
"Oh, uh, I'm Deku!" The lad, Deku stated.
"A pleasure to meet you, Deku." Lenore replied with a gentle smile as she raised her hand towards him. "My name is Lenore."
Several months later
As she walked down the night street, Lenore felt her face form a smile. The past few months have been quite eventful, what with trying to find her way in this new life, the events surrounding the heroes, and many more. She has learned quite a number of things ever since she arrived here in Japan. However, the knowledge she had gained and understood all seemed little compared to her experience with a certain someone.
"Lenore!" She heard in the distance, turning her head towards the source of the voice as her smile broke into a friendly grin.
"There you are, Izuku!" She greeted in return as the green-haired young man ran up to her. "I suppose you have a location for us tonight?"
"Yeah, I do!" He replied with a smile. "You're going to like it!"
"Is it another shrine to All Might?" Lenore teased, knowing of the boy's adoration and fanaticism with the former hero.
"Oh, come on, it was only one time!" Izuku cried out, though the smile on his face told her that he didn't mind the joke.
Yes, for the past few months, Lenore had kept in contact with Deku, who she later found out was named Midoriya Izuku (as he introduced himself culturally), and obtained bits of knowledge about and from him. However, those meet-ups soon changed from obtaining knowledge to discussing philosophy with and against him. She found it intriguing that in an era such as this, he seemed to go against what she expected. Instead of using his power to try and conquer, he tried to protect. Though a part of it could be explained by him lacking sufficient control over his power, she was still pleasantly surprised by his innocence and determination. Despite his childish beliefs, his eyes carried a determination that mirrored Alucard and the Belmont's (She once asked him if he was somehow related to the Belmont Clan, but quickly brushed it off as an old fairy tale when he asked what they were.).
More recently, though, was how even those philosophical discussions changed to discussions about their lives, how their days were going. Sometimes they interrupted the conversations with food and recreation that didn't exist in her time. She even learned how to interact with the commoners, and taught Izuku how to act around high society. She even got to meet his wonderful mother in the process. All these moments had something in common, however. She enjoyed Izuku's company. No matter what they did, how it went, or where it was, she always found herself enjoying the company of Midoriya Izuku. She felt that she could be as strong as she wanted, yet gentle enough to savor the moment with him. His kindness even found a way to warm her heart, to make her humanity stir in pleasure. It was quite roman-
Oh.
Oh no.
Oh God.
Oh shit.
She was falling in love with Midoriya Izuku.
"Fuck meeeee…" She whispered in realization.
"What?"
"What?"
And that's a wrap, folks! I hope you enjoyed my first chapter of random bullshit I've come up with! And believe me, there's more where that came from! But for now, I hope you accept this for the time being. Who knows, maybe someday, this might become a full story, if not by my hand, then by someone else's! If you are interested in turning this into a story, go for it! If you want me to do it myself, then send in support via comments/Favs/Follows/Subscribing or joining my Discord at the Run-Down Sabbath House! There's another group of one-shots I'm gonna publish soon, but like I said at the beginning, we'll deal with Red, White, and Blue-Balls at a later date!
Klyju out!
