Chapter 0 - Prologue "Where it all began"

I was there since the beginning.

The shouts of men followed by the trumping of explosions has become an almost commonplace. The rumble of battle that would most definitely deafen anyone and everyone given enough time.

But not everything.

I can never be anyone.

Within an enclosed space, devoid of light lay a cage. It's rims vertical, circling to all meet at the top. An unassuming item, a birdcage and yet.

To hold, to enclose, that is the purpose of a cage. Be it a prisoner or a slave.

I was a slave only to myself.

Azure blue, radiant yet dull shone the lightless space. It's origins imprisoned within the bird cage. An orb, familiar and yet not, perhaps it's these qualities that makes it otherworldly.

Bounded by myself and to no other.

For all its radiance, it remains still, living but dead. It's power pulsated and yet it knows naught of the beat of life.

Enacted by myself and no one.

It will stay still, forever if nothing change and nothing did change seemingly but perhaps unknowingly.

For within the very heart lay something, a feeling that it could not understand, a feeling that made the minuscule amount of time unbearable.

Freed by someone and not myself.

The creaking of a door broke any silence away followed by light stepping. For the first time seemingly, natural light shined it and within the center stood someone.

Cared by someone and not myself.

The boy had long brown hair, clearly overgrown as it shadowed most of his face. Scars littered natural skin, grime and dirt stained his rags. The being within stirred upon observing the person in front of it.

Why are you hurt. Why does seeing you hurt, hurt me?

The boy strode forward, as he moved the state of his body was more easily noticeable. Arms and legs lacking any meat, bones with skin for all it is. And yet he walked, never faltering.

I thought and thought and yet I did not know why. I wanted to speak, to say something but I couldn't.

I felt overwhelmed for the first time. Something changed within me.

The boy grabbed the cage gently yet hastily in his hands. The boy took careful steps from where he came from, his head constantly surveying the area.

Though his features were shadowed, his body nearly staggered. An almost pained whimper escapes his lips.

You are in pain and so feel angry, at myself but I have done nothing.

Suddenly the young boy's body becomes tense as if alarmed. His pace increases to put as much distance away from the danger.

Sparks of blue circulated his legs as he performed feats no child could.

Is it that, that I have done nothing but...why?

This time a pained whimper did escape, his breathing labored and arms gripping tighter.

I...please stop

I feel the need...the need but.

I have seen countless deaths starting from the first but...

"Ahh!!!" The boy tightly gripped the cage as he was flung to a burning wreckage. A pained scream as he was flung and fell.

no

"Damn that boy, does he have any idea what he is doing," A man spoke, falling gracefully, there he stood with two others, they seemed human aside from the wings hung on their backs.

"Perhaps I should've cut more than his tongue?" One of the two replied jest as if the situation had no urgency to him.

The feeling within me increased, words...shouldn't have that effect on me?"

"Enough! Listen boy, bring us what you are holding and we will let you free. Consider this a mercy," The man in the middle ordered with a sense of authority.

Take it! Please!

The boy stared at the orb as if it had heard the voice, as if feeling, understanding what he carried. A smile graced his features, one that stirred the being even more.

A smile, it's intentions unhidden. A smile for which reflected the heart of the boy, a mirror to his soul.

The boy stood, seemingly agreeing with the man whom has offered the deal. Said man felt relieved as time was of the essence but before he can celebrate.

"Ich...befehle...die," The words came out crooked as if it was a struggle to even speak them. It was quiet, the men barely heard it and less time to fully contemplate them.

Suddenly a gush of wind blew the three men, stunning them due to the unusual power being exhibited. Once the smoke cleared the boy was no where to be seen.

"H-How can a random human boy contain that much power?" The one whom seemed unfazed before now was in disbelief. The other one is much the same, his mouth agape.

"It doesn't matter, he got away," The two were broken from their disbelief by the voice of their leader. Annoyance dripped his tone and knuckles clenched.

Clearly what the boy had come into possession was something they were not willing to let go. An answer to their cries of anger and a source for hope.

Those were the words spoken to reignite their resolve and perhaps desperation.

"And the Gremory heir is quickly approaching our position," Jaws no longer hang loose, the man could only lament at their current predicament.

"That damn Gremory heir is tossing away our people's culture," His partner agreed with a solemn expression.

A sense of loss permeated the air around them.

"No use dwelling what cannot be changed. Come, I sense his presence quickly disappearing."

Why him? I always wandered. I can never understand. What is to understand, isn't it the desire to know, the desire for greater knowledge sought to for a purpose.

My soul hollow and bound

My existence has always been a one devoid of purpose.

Devoid of purpose and answers unresolved

Ah perhaps that is why I can never understand. I felt nothing, even as time passes, nothing changed and it never will.

Waves of time forever unmeaning

I felt nothing, until your eyes bore to my presence. A single glance no different to many before yet.

Yet still a soul exists

At that moment, I felt you were different.

One upon endless possibilities

Something changed.

Sands lay still

My eyes are your eyes for your soul can only come from one.

An endless plane of sand, shaped by my hands.

Creation of the world yet never living in it.

But why does your eyes feel so different...warm.

A flame is born

A fire lit in sand, destined to wither but does not.

And forever they bound

It wills itself to forever change the unchanged.

Shatter Point Genesis Kaleidoscope

An unknown feeling swept the being as a sense of confusion welled within.

Questions asked in its head with no answers in sight, no it does know the answer.

For everything to exist, a reason for it must exist with the clogs of time acting as its drive.

The answer is here but for the first time, the being wishes to reject it.

"Found him!" Terror rose within the boy as he heard the anger laced call. His lips thinned as he maneuvered his body away from an incoming explosion.

The boy understood his predicament, though the being and the cage can withstood the explosion, he cannot. This realization forced him to relocate more magical energy into his upper-body.

The being observed the changing events with conflicting emotions.

Why do I act, I have no-

"Give it back," A sudden ring of energy wrapped around the young boy slamming him into a nearby tree.

No.

"End of the line," A decorated circle appeared below the young boy. Emitting a vibrant orange color, the young boy found his body difficult to move.

NO

Yet still he refuses to budge, his hands never lightening and because of that veins pulsed as he struggled. His vision began to blur as colors meshed around him before a strong feeling of pain assaulted him.

"Ahhh!!!"

Why-

"Who are you?"

I remember that day. I have lived for many days and yet this day. A memory frozen, forever preserved.

For the memory of that day will never fade as it never fails to hurt.

A young boy whom couldn't have been older than half a dozen summers stared, his eyes glued as if mesmerized by the majestic aura surrounding the object in front of him.

The eyes of innocence, of child-like wonder which the young boy have been deprived of, as shown by the slight hint of caution and yet he walked, seemingly more cautious of something else.

As the young boy moved closer, the light revealed what to many considered a horrifying sight. Cuts and bruises litter his body. Open wounds with blood still oozing out and crudely bandage soaked in red.

But I did not bat an eye, the sight did not make me move. I remembered...I remembered only looking at his eyes. No-not looking but rather seeing beyond what I cannot comprehend.

The being chose to stay silent, even as the boy tilted in confusion. The young boy silently wondered if the object in front of him is even sentient or can communicate.

Who am I? A simple question but I felt it was meant to be something more. I can say what I am, I can answer questions from which the day creation exists and yet.

Who am I?

The boy walked, his eyes showing no hesitation. Was it child foolishness, perhaps but for the young boy whom was forced to mature, was drawn to it until he stood no less than a feet away from the being.

For one to truly understand another, two must be willing to speak beyond the surface.

For every race, every god, every monster lay one thing...a soul, a heart.

And as the young boy stared on, he let out a dazzling smile.

He understood it.

That smile, I remember how awed at it I was. The feeling of something different welled up, I felt so...relieved.

"Is there something you want?" He asked, his smile never leaving. A calm tranquil descended, a lie to the storm brewing.

The being is confused, I...want...something? Want. The desire to achieve, to gain, to possess, to wish for. Then-

What do I want?

Even now I am at a loss but I do know this.

For isn't the desire of wanting, the core of every sentient being then-

The men with bat-like wings try to force the young boy to release the cage but finds it futile. For though his body has shown his injuries clearly, it too mirrors his resolve.

His clothes, nothing more than strips of fabric, some have even melted into his skin but he seemed unconcerned

I-I-I...

His focus entirely on the small orb within his grasp. It is as if time had stopped, the fuel that drove the world forward is no longer there. A room cannot be seen if there is no light to show it.

The being cannot see, for the first time, it cannot see. It's eyes are clouded, from what it doesn't know.

An action that will change everything and the inability to comprehend it.

The dark lays hidden, unknown possibilities and one's that bring about indecision.

For isn't the dark, what people fears the most.

The boy turned his head towards the being and smiled, if that is the cause then he shall be the light. The light that showed what the being truly wanted to see.

I want to see you smile.

Time continued as the men move closer to the boy. The sound of crunching of sticks and the swaying of foliage brought a feeling that the being have only begun to understand.

I want to see you happy.

Foreign energy gathered, power beyond what mere mortals have only inherited a small fragment of, began to surge.

If it's by the will of others that power can form. Power is the answer by the call of will. They are the foundations of power.

But what is their foundation.

Whom does will originate from.

The winds scream, it's force far surpassing the range of gods can create. The men are left surprised, they can only retreat, as a desperate attempt to survive.

The young boy held on firmer to the cage but found that within the epicenter, he is safe.

The winds sour, a cool breeze travel but only a few felt it.

A chill unlike any other.

Dark grey eyes narrowed, an unfamiliar force is being called.

A call from the world.

A wish.

I WISH TO SEE YOU LIVE

I had time but I did not know it.

I had love but I did not see it.

A boy came and smiled.

A world of clear crystal.

A world for two.

Where it all began.

Author's Note

Hello everyone, I'm Elseworld. This is my first ever fanfiction, too be honest I'm quite nervous. Beyond essays this is the first story I have ever posted online.

Uhm, I should warn you guys that English is not my first language so I tried my best but if there is anything you are confused on...well you just have to wait until more is explained.

Lastly I will be posting a second story which contains character conversations that couldn't fit with the atmosphere of the chapter. Now that isn't to say they are not canonical but rather they would've broken the tone.

Yeah and I am going to be answering questions there, so if you ask any questions then you'll have to check up the other story.

Okay really last thing. I'm not going to abandon this story, I've always been a fan of literature so I don't see myself abandoning it but it does take a while to write chapters.

Well that is enough for today, have a good day everyone.
