An unknown sector in the far reaches of the imperium is targeted by a Rogue Trader Vessel. Hymnals from the astropathic choir are frantic as the ships in the Rouge Trader's Fleet signal about a shattered moon around the orbit of the plant they are fast approaching.

The Dauntless Class Light Cruiser "Shattered Sky" belonging to Rouge Trader Solomon Ratnik is first to dock their ships to the planets Orbit but making sure that the shattered moon's fragments do not collide with his ship. Next was the Arch Mecahnicus "Plus Ultra" under the command of Arch Magos Biologis Almaty Horace which began to immediately launch probes into the planet. The final line ship to dock was the Salamanders Rapid Strike Cruiser "The Shield of Vulkan" who belonged to Captain T'sen. Once these ships had docked the rest of the fleet soon docked as well.

Mostly an amalgamation of sword and firestorm class frigates along with Conveyor class transports, the fleet was small by Imperial standards. However, in the halls of the "Shattered Sky" lie a few important guests. These are Custodians of the Aquilian Shield and Emissaries Imperatus shield hosts. These men have ordered an entire rouge trader fleet to the location of planet in the far reaches of the Imperium Nhiilus, a planted they called "Remnant".

As the Imperial ships moor overhead, the best and brightest of Remnant's Population along with the headmasters of the various huntsman academies assemble. Among them were the likes of Ozpin, General Ironwood, Qrow Branwen, Pietro Polendina, and Professor Lionheart. To them this was an unusual sight, a couple dozen or so objects were flying beyond orbit. To this, not even the mechanical genius that is Pietro can explain since dust did not function beyond orbit. They decide to avoid alarming the citizens of such a mysterious threat by telling them it was a fleet of experimental Atlesian warships. Most bought into it, but there were still a huge number that were not fully convinced. As Remnant's leading figures discuss plans on what to do, Salem watches in her castle; plotting.

"Astropath, send a message to the rogue trader that the probe's augur arrays report signals of human and xenos presence on the planet's surface. Technological advancement of local Human population minimal, suggested course of action, immediate censure." Said the Arch Magos in a heavily distorted robotic voice.

The astropath however was confounded, "The presence of the warp is faint near the planet. Similar to Cadia but…different."

The Arch Magos immediately ordered for satellites to be launched so that long range Vox Comms could be established. It was then that he personally gave his message to the bridge of the "Shattered Sky"

The green display screen buzzes to life as the Arch Magos appears. The bridge was in utter confusion as the Arch Magos saw.

"Arch Magos, what is happening? All of the psykers in the fleet can no longer hear any of the malignant whispers of the warp. Even the navigator is blind to its ebb and flow." Solomon demanded an answer from the Arch Magos, and he was given one.

"It appears that the planet is producing a natural anti-warp field around it. Similar enough to the cadian pylons that our shields still work. However our ships cannot translate into the warp nor can our astropathic choirs send astropathic relays. But fret not, I have released satellites that will enable our troops to contact the fleet."

A sigh escaped the mouth of Solomon as calms down. "Thank you Arch Magos, the Omnissiah's greatest servants are indeed a force to be reckoned with."

"There shall be no debts as long as the technologies on the surface are to be taken to my ship personally"

This was the final message of the Techpriest as he closed his vox channels. With now a clear view of the situation, Solomon went to board his Valkyrie Dropship, behind him were the Custodians, His Ratings, and a Magos Biologis. In the void, the Valkyrie was joined by a single Asartes Thunderhawk Transport and two Cadian Valkyries. Their entrance did not go unnoticed as the prying eyes of Remnant saw the vehicles burning up as they entered the atmosphere.

The decided that they would use a destroyed hab-centre south of what is suspected to be a major city as a base of operations due to the high general avoidance of the local population to the area. Probes had deemed the area to be incredibly hostile. So, in order to clear out any unwanted elements, the Rouge Trader ordered for a bombardment on the hab-centre. As the Valkyries and thunderhawk descend, they witnessed the fury of the macro cannons and lance batteries as they tear into the ruins. And it was their turn.

Streaking form the skies; the transports used their guns to obliterate any stragglers. Rockets, Lascannons, and Heavy Bolters tore the Xenos to shreds. And as they made pass after pass, more of the abominations fell to the wrath of imperial ordinance. The gunships landed in a location that was relatively unscarred by the wrath of the fleet. They quickly began to establish a perimeter as Solomon gave the order for a full scale planetary landing. Dozens of different Valkyrie sub-types made their way to the surface accompanied by Mechanicus Thunderhawks.

Solomon had a guardsman bring him a long range voxcaster and issued the following: "All Imperial forces rally at forward base "Rubicon", it is about time that the imperium initiated diplomacy with this lost world."

Solomon was approached by an Emissary Custodian named "Aurelius". The towering man spoke in a deep and booming voice. "Rogue Trader, know this. The Emperor is pleased that you have chosen wisely to heed his summons. I was glad that I did not have to take a life on this mission."

Solomon chuckled nervously as he thought of a witty comeback but was interrupted when the custodian was alerted by something. He took off in a blur, never did Solomon think that such a large figure would be so fast. Mere moments later the Custodian returned and managed to obtain a Mutant wearing some sort of uniform.

"Well, this just got interesting."

Hello, this is the author. I am a complete noob at writing fan fiction but I'm one to improve my craft. This is a one-shot and If it gets some...any attention I'll follow it up. Note also that this is RWBY set before the fall of Vale but with the expanded cast of characters from later volumes. So yeah, that's all and thanks for reading my grabage.
