Chapter 1

Quackity had woken up, ready to start his day off peacefully. He had woken up at just before sunrise and had meander about his usual routine of getting ready. He purposely didn't have any mirrors in his house so to save himself the trouble of looking and seeing his scars and most importantly his wings. He always hated his wings and in the past had kept them hidden and bind to his back. For a while no one had known he had wings. So his were in poor shape especially when compared with Philza's large black wings. Quackity would be lucky if he could get a good glide with the state of the his wings, He'd be lucky if he got off the ground. Not that he ever tried to get off the ground before. He's never even preened.

He took a deep breath something that he learned helped him settle unwanted thoughts, as he finished putting on his cloak, making sure that his wings were hidden and flat against his back, ready for the day. He didn't have much planned merely going out for supplies and such. He had moved and built himself a nice cottage style house out in a meadow surrounded by woods, he had been trying to relax after the failed execution of a certain pig hybrid and the total destruction of L'Manberg, he needed to get away. However, as soon as he opened his door, he froze, seeing a familiar figure riding on horse back toward his home. Upon seeing the familiar horse decked out in diamond armor, visions of blue, red, and white danced in his vision. And the laughter.

Without much thought, and purely on self preservation, Quackity practically slammed the front door shut, and pressed himself against it, as he tried not to panic, because surely that was not Technoblade coming toward his house. It couldn't be. The pig hybrid was suppose to be 'retired' and hold up in the arctic with Phil. What was was he doing all the way out here? Not willing to stick around and lose another life, Quackity quickly pushed a few chests nearby in front of the door and made his way tot he back of the house. By the time he climbed out the window, there were heavy knocks on the door.

"Quackity! Open up!" Technoblade called out. And that was the duck hybrids cue to run, making a beeline for the trees. If he could make to the trees he could possibly loose the pig hybrid in the woods. The one thing Quackity was grateful for was that he had built his house on a hill, it gave him much needed momentum as he ran. "Quackity! Don't run, Quackity!" Techno's voice sounded behind him.

"Shit!" Quackity wheezed and ran faster, his wings beating the behind him to give him some extra momentum. He could hear Techno perusing him. The pig hybrids steps sounding more calm and steady compare to his own frantic ones, as he weaved through the trees in an attempt to try and lose his pursuer.

"Quackity, stop!" Techno called out, not even out of breath. A quick look behind his shoulders graced him with the knowledge that Technoblade had decided to chase him on foot instead of horseback, which meant Quackity had a chance of getting away. He wasn't so sure considering it sounded like Techno's footsteps seemed to be getting closer.

Quackity wheezed trying to force more air into his lungs, because he was not stopping. He was not! He wasn't ready for battle. He couldn't fight The Blade right now. Not when all his weapons were back in the house. Branches pulled and swiped at his face as he ran, too focused on running and getting away, to even feel the assault that thin little twigs on the trees were doing to him. He spotted a river coming up too big to really jump over, but if he could use his wings, maybe he would make it and hopefully treading rushing water would slow down Techno.

"Quackity, stop right there." Techno demanded, upon seeing his wings starting to beat faster, some feather coming lose with how fast they were beating at air.

"Fuck you!" Quackity cursed, although the words barely made it passed his lips as he pushed for more speed, as he prepared to make the jump.

"Quackity." Techno said, in a warning tone. Too close.

Quackity jumped, his wings flapping trying to help carry him across the rushing water. He landed not as firm footed as he would have liked. In fact he didn't land on his feet at all; more like stumbled and fell in the muddy bank. "Ugh, ow." He groaned. His wings curling as the muscle began cramping. He took a chance to look back and watched as Techno came jogging up only to stop and seemed to glare at the river that now separated him from Quackity, and then his gaze moved to Quackity. An a shiver of fear ran down his spine, when those blood red eyes met his. He was already taking unconscious steps back his body already half twisting getting ready to run again.

"You stay right there, Quackity." Techno ordered, as his hand reach for his belt, where his sword sat.

"Go to hell!" Quackity snapped, and was running again. His tired wings still beating trying to help give him momentum. Like he was going to just patiently wait for the pig hybrid to just come and take the rest of his lives; yeah, no fuck that. There was a definite whooshing sound followed by several things break that told Quackity everything he needed to know; Techno had just ender-pearled and possibly splashed himself with potions, meaning when he finally caught Quackity, the duck hybrid wasn't going to have a Primes chance of surviving. He only had one option left.

He'd have to fly.

He didn't even bother checking to see how close Techno was, that would just slow him down. Instead he grabbed hold of the nearest branch within reach and with the help of his tired wings pulled himself up just in time to pull his foot out of grabbing reach as an ender-pearl smashed where he once stood, with Technoblade appearing in its place already grabbing for him. Quackity climbed higher, only taking quick peeks down below long enough to see Techno watching, his eyes calculating as mumble about how 'he wasn't climbing the tree', or something like that. During his frantic climb to the top of the chosen tree, Quackity spotted Techno pulling something else out from his pouch and was not going to wait to see what the pig hybrid had planned on getting Quackity out of the tree.

Breathless, sweaty, and achy, Quackity spared only a couple of seconds letting his wing flap, trying to let them catch the wind now that he was up high. The only hope he had of out running Techno who was ender-pearling was flying. But his wings weren't in the best of shape, but they were also his only hope. He could fly. He just had to get higher. A glide would work at this point.

"Quackity!" The warning tone was back in Techno's voice down below. "Don't do it, Quackity." He warned, his red eyes tracking Quackity every move.

Quackity, gritted his teeth ignoring the deep ache setting his wings and jumped, letting his wings catch his full weight, the muscles in them screaming as he glided to the next tree. He just needed to get higher. He repeated the action and began to start getting into a rhythm as he jumpe dand glided from tree to tree. Down below he could hear Techno following, still to close for his comfort.

"I'm...shooting him down, chat…. That's a ter….idea…...Nerds…." He could hear the faint mumbling down below and it only spurred him to move even faster. Techno was talking to the voices. Nothing ever turned out great for the person Techno hunted when he started answering the voices. Screw gliding. Quackity was not sticking around to hear the famous battle cry. He had to take to the sky.

The sound of glass being thrown and breaking was his final warning, and Quackity took one final leap from the tree he just landed one, and with one big downward flap from his wings, felt a bit of relief when his wings pushed himself upward, higher than the tree he was aiming. His wings were screaming, but at least he was somewhat flying. He wasn't sure how long he'd stay in the air, but it had to be long enough to lose Techno. Already Quackity wasn't hearing his following footsteps, but that could be the roaring in his ears and was the air usually this thin, he was having trouble getting air into his lungs.

A sharp pain pierced his side with more sound of breaking glassing, pulling a surprised shout from him as another hit in him in the side, and suddenly he was having trouble finding the energy to continue to wing his now frantically achy and tired wings. And is dawned on him as he fell that Techno had him him with weakness potions. He crashed landed hitting several branches on his way down, before he finally ate dirt. His body twitched at the sound of steady heavy footsteps, revealing Technoblade not even winded, walking straight for him. He wanted to run. The bird brain in him wanted him to run. And he tried, he really tried to pick himself up to continue running, grasping at his side where pieces of glass stuck in him, but the weakness potions were doing their job, he couldn't even fully pick himself up, and hated that when Techno finally stood in front of him it was with him still on his hands and knees, his wings twitching and from the strain that they had forced on them this day.

"You just had to run, and make this difficult didn't you?" Techno said, sound exasperated. Like this was all Quackity's fault.

Quackity made himself straighten his back so that he was not using his hand for support, sitting back on his ankles, so he could look his enemy in the eyes. Things were starting to get blurry and black dots were starting to take his vision. "I'm gonna kill you, you fucking pig." He promised, still trying to catch his breath. If Techno was going to take another one of his lives, Quackity was going to make damn certain that he'd use his last life taking every single one of Techno's. How dare the bastard come to his door and hunt him down for no good reason.

"Yeah, yeah, sure. Keep telling yourself that. Look I don't have time for this, so sorry, but not really." He said, palming another weakness potion and smashing on the ground near Quackity, and that was all it took to force Quackity to succumb to the ache and tiredness that had overcome him during his run from the Blade. The last thing in his vision being Techno's boots.

A/N: Ok so I am fairly new to the DreamSMP, like since January. And Techno is the one that drew me in. I am aware of his passing and am very sad about it. I am writing this because some of the fanfics that I have been reading have since his death have either been discontinued or removed. And This is me trying to recreate a plot line that I fell in love with, but within my own path for the story to take. So, the characters are not going to act like canon character. I will not write these character as CC. So if you have a problem just don't read its that simple. Also I don't think I've been a fan long enough to mimic how they actually would react, so yeah.

And like other tales of heroes in stories passed down through the ages I do believe that Technoblade's (Alex's ) Memory lives on through the stories, music, and art made, by those he impacted and by those who remember him. And that is my motivation to writing this.

Also grammar and spelling mistakes. If you see any and point them out I will gladly go and fix them. I really appreciate it since i do not have a beta to read these.
