Insomnia
Prologue
The moon shined brightly in the night sky as it glisten over Camp Half Blood.
Within a cabin by the lake Percy laid in the bed with a smile across his face. Within his dreams he was laying on a patch of fresh green grass in a park. He was no longer his teenage self but that of an eight year old instead. Waving to his mother he smiled as she rolled him his favorite ball. Percy went back to kicking his ball he smiled as he followed it. Yet when it hit the shoe of a man Percy looked up into the violet color eyes of this person with confusion.
The dark purple hair man looked down at Percy with a smile upon his lips.
"I am sorry to interrupt such a wonderful dream but I must speak with you." The man said.
Looking at his hand Percy was now back to his normal teenage self. The park still remained the same but his mom was gone leaving him and the stranger to sit on the bench.
"Who are you?" Percy asked.
"My name is Morpheus, I'm known as the god of dreams." the man explained.
"Well I have to say this is a surprise." Percy replied.
"Yes as I said before I am sorry but we need to talk." Morpheus said.
"What's going on?" Percy asked.
"Hypnos the god of sleep is missing. As we speak humans and demi gods a like are now wandering the Earth deprived of sleep." Morpheus explained
"Why isn't this affecting me? Percy asked.
"Hence one of the perks of being a child of one of the big three." Morpheus said.
While Percy didn't want to believe what was being told to him he knew it was true.
"Alright what can I do to help?" Percy asked.
"Wake up and head to the lake, I will be waiting for you there." Morpheus said.
Percy rose to his feet as Morpheus disappeared. Taking a deep breath he looked to the sky which turned into a wooden brown ceiling. As Percy sat up his eyes widen at the sight of Annabeth and Grover in the middle of a fist fight. Just as their fists were about to collide Percy jumped in between them pushing them apart.
Looking between his two best friends he noticed the circles under their eyes along with their drowsy nature. They most likely didn't even know where they were.
"Listen I will fix this I promise." Percy told them.
Percy noticed a confused looked in their eyes as two teachers took them away. Heading outside himself Percy's eyes fell upon countless kids in the camp. They were being restrained by the teachers while being taken to the infirmary.
At the lake waiting by the water's edge was Morpheus. He nodded to Percy when he arrived.
"So when do we leave?" Percy asked.
"In a moment we're waiting on one more person." Morpheus said.
Within a flash the moon light shined as a familiar silver haired lass appeared.
"Selene." Percy said surprisingly
"Well I couldn't let you two go on an adventure without me." The moon goddess said.
Soon Morpheus pulled out a small lyre from his jacket. After brushing his fingers over a few of the strings a purple light engulfed them and they were gone. With help from his new team it was up to Percy to once again save the world.
