I don't own Ed Edd n Eddy and Attack on Titan. I only own OC's.

Sorry if you find any grammar mistakes. I'm still learning English because it's not my first language.

It all started like a normal day in the Shiganshina District for Eddy Resse. He woke up in his bed, greeted his parents, ate breakfast with them, said goodbye to his father who left for work right after breakfast and went out to spend some time outdoors with his friends who at this point should be out of their beds, just like he was. This day, however, was special to him.

Why was this particular day special to him? The answer was quite simple. When he was out of his house, hanging out with his best friends on the streets of the Shiganshine District, doing various activities all of them enjoyed doing with each other, the large bells on the Walls chimed out loud and clear, announcing the opening of the gate and the return of the Survey Corps.

The boy stopped what he was doing with his friends as soon as he heard how the bells started to ring and pushed himself into a run towards the gate at the sound of it, his friends following his example and pushing themselves into a run after him right after. Why was the return of the Survey Corps making him so excited and so important to him the point dropping everything he was doing? It was because his older brother Matthew would be returning with them.

He was both eager and nervous about seeing him again. He was aware of the high fatality rate the Survery Corps had, but he tried not to think about it. He always pushed those thoughts away by thinking about how strong his brother was, ranking as one of the best in his Cadet Corps and how was capable of defending himself against the dangers waiting for him on the other side of the wall.

"C'mon, you two!" He shouted to his friends who were running behind him as he ran as fast as he could through the streets of the Shiganshine District, "We're gonna be late! I don't want to miss my brothers return!"

"I'm right behind you, Eddy!" The boys first friend gave him an immediate response, giving him a brief salute with his right hand. It was Edward Washington. He was the least intelligent from his group, but made up for his lack of intelligence with his strength.

"Eddy!" The second friend called out after his friend, followed by the sound of panting as he struggled to keep up with his friends. It was Eddward Wilson, known by his friends as Double D. He was the weakest one physically from his group, but made up for it with his intelligence, "I understand you're excited about your seeing your brother again, but can take a little break from running, please?" It was when he stopped in the middle of the road as he couldn't take this anymore, panting as he tried to catch some breath, "Curse these flimsy limbs."

Eddy stopped dead in his tracks and looked over his shoulder at his panting friend. He titled his head towards Ed, knowing what had to be done if he didn't want to come late, "Ed."

Ed saluted with a smile on his face, knowing what Eddy wanted him to do, "On it, Eddy!"

Ed quickly made his way to Double D and picked him up as if it was nothing, placing him over his shoulder, making the other boy cry out his name, "Ed! Put me down this instant!"

His cries were ignored by his friends, the two of them acting as if they didn't hear them. The two boys pushed themselves into run towards gate once again, ignoring Double D's cries to stop and that there was no need to carry him anymore because he managed to catch his breath at this point. Eddy simply didn't have any patience to stop again, even if this break would last only a few seconds.

By the time the group of three friends reached the main street, a large crowd of people was already gathered on it and being a young boy who happened to be shorter than most of his peers, Eddy couldn't see over everyone's heads. He quickly scanned his surroundings, trying to spot some elevation that he could stand on as Ed removed Double D from his shoulder and put him on the ground.

It wasn't long until Eddy found the thing he was searching for. He spotted some crates against the wall of the nearest building and rushed over to stand up on them, his friends quickly following him to the place. He wasn't the only one who had the same idea. The group of three spotted two familiar people walking towards them as soon as they reached the crates. Those two were Eren Jaeger and Mikasa Ackerman, their friends.

"Shit! I can't see with all the people!" Eren muttered to himself in irritation as he climbed onto the crate next to Eddy. It didn't took him long to spot Eddy, "Hey, Eddy." He smiled at him, the irritation vanishing from his voice upon seeing his friend, "You came here to see the Survey Corps?"

"You know it!" Eddy nodded excitedly as he smiled back at Eren, "I can't wait to see my brother!"

Mikasa stopped next to Ed and Double D and bowed her head at them, "Hello Ed, Double D and Eddy."

Edd bowed his head in response as soon as he heard how Mikasa greeted him, offering her a slight greeting smile, "Greetings, Mikasa. I see that Eren brought you here to watch the return of the Survey Corps, just like Eddy did with me and Ed."

"Hey, Mikasa!" Ed offered Mikasa his own greetings, rejoiced to see his friend as he was moved towards her with the intention of hugging her. He never reached her, though as he stopped dead in his tracks once he felt how Double D put his hand on his shoulder.

"I think this time you should cease yourself with your hugs, Ed." Edd told his friend and gestured to the wood Mikasa was carrying in a tumpline as Ed looked over his shoulder at him with a curious look on his face, "Eren and Mikasa surely spent a lot of time gathering all this wood. Do you want to possible crush them and have their efforts go to waste?"

"You're right, Double D!" Ed nodded his head, admitting his friend to be right as he shifted his gaze from him to Mikasa, offering her an apologetic look, "Sorry, Mikasa!"

Mikasa remained silent and just stared at her friends with the expression on her face she was known for among them. It's not like the bone crushing hug that Ed was known for among his friends was going to hurt her in any way. In fact, Mikasa was the only one from their group who was not touched by Ed's bone crushing hugs in the slightest. For her, those were just regular hugs and it always amazed the rest, because they always had to plead Ed to let go off them, not wanting to risk having their bones broken by him.

Eddy and Eren looked over the crowd and saw a blond haired man covered in blood stains riding on his horse in the front of the group of soldiers. The blond haired man glanced to the side and saw Eren and Eddy grinning at him excitedly. He turned away from them, refusing to look at their smilling faces after whatever had happened on the expedition. Eddy and Eren felt how their smiles faded away from their faces, the two friends exchanging confused glances with each other.

It wasn't long, a few seconds to be exact, before the two got the answer to their questions regarding the sour mood of the blond haired Survey Corps member. It was when they saw the state a lot of the returning Survey Corps were in. A lot of them were injured. They either were covered in bandages or had a missing a limb. A lot of them, including the ones who were fortunate enough to survive the expedition without any major injures had horrified expressions on their faces.

"Only this many of them made it back?" One of the civilians asked, noticing how little of the Scouts have returned.

"They must have all be eaten." Another civilian stated, "This is what happens when you go outside the walls."

Eddy and Eren watched everything from their spot, their eyes widened in shock in disbelief, Double D covered his mouth with his right hand and whispered a quiet "Oh my" into it, his eyes widened in concern and Ed's usual happy expression completely vanished from his face upon seeing so many wounded soldiers in one place. Even Mikasa looked concerned.

"Moses! Moses!" An eldery woman called out as she walked out of the crowd and rushed over to the Commander, causing everyone to shift their attention to her, "Excuse me, I don't see my son, Moses. Where can I find him?"

The Commander titled his head to the side to look at the injured soldier next to him, "It's Moses' mom. Bring it over.

Said soldier nodded as the mother gasped, slowly realizing what this meant. The soldier approached her and handed her a long object wrapped in a bloody sheet. She stared at it for a moment before slowly unwrapping it. She gasped once she saw was there. It was a severed right arm of her son. She let out a painful whimper as she fell to her knees, clutching what was left of her son.

The Commander knelt down in front of her, "It's all we could retrieve."

"But my son... he carried out his duty, right?" The mother's teary eyes looked up at the Commander as she struggled to speak, "Even if he didn't achieve direct greatness, surely my son's death helped humanity to fight back, didn't it?!"

The Commander looked at her in shock and quickly answered, "Of course!" He paused for a moment and spoke up again with a dejected look on his face, "No... On this latest scouting mission, we..." He gritted his teeth and screamed, eyes shut, "No! Just like all the other missions, we achieved nothing at all!" Tears streamed down his face, "My incompetence has done nothing but needlessly send soldiers to their deaths! We haven't found anything about them!"

Eddy's eyes widened in panic once he set his eyes on the injured soldiers, beginning to worry about his brothers status. He moved his head from side to side, his eyes scanning frantically through the Survey Corps in an attempt to spot his older brother among them. He spotted him a few seconds later. He was having a conversation with two other members of the Survey Corps.

"Bro!" He shouted as he hopped off the crate the moment he spotted his brother amond the soldiers, feeling how relief overcame his entire body. He pushed through the crowd of people, Ed and Double D following him and called out for his brother again, this time his scream managing to earn Matthew's attention. Matthew looked in the direction from which the sound came from and saw Eddy running towards him. Eddy reached his brother a few seconds later and wrapped his hands around him, embracing him in a tight hug.

Matthew grinned, hugging his brother back, "Hey, pipsqueak."

"I'm so happy you're okay." Eddy said, "I was starting to get worried after I saw so many wounded soldiers and couldn't see you anywhere among them..."

"Of course I came back." Matthew said, "What kind of older brother would I hadn't come back after I promised I would?" His eyes wandered to the side as Double D and Ed walked over to them, "Seems like you brought your friends."

"We were together when we heard the bells." Eddy explained, releasing his brother from the hug.

"It's nice to see you again." Double D smiled at Matt as Ed nodded in agreement, "I'm glad to see you made it back safely."

Matthew nodded his head at them, happy that his brother had such good friends, "Thank you two."

"Is this your family, Resse?" All four of them turned to face the new voice and saw the blond haired man from earlier.

"Captain Erwin. Sir." Matthew quickly gave the custom fist-clenchec-over-the-heart salute, "Yes, sir. This is my younger brother Eddy and Ed and Eddward, his friends."

"A pleasure." Erwin nodded his head at the three kids, "You should be proud of your brother." He set his attention on Eddy, "Cadet Matthew assisted in four titan kills and killed two all on his own." Eddy gasped in amazement, looking at his brother as Matthew rubbed the back of his head after seeing look his younger brother gave him, "I'm certain there would be even fewer of here if it wasn't for his skills. With such skills, I can see him going far in the Corps."

Matthew allowed himself to process the praise he had just gotten from his captain, "Thank you, sir."

Erwin looked over his shoulder at the scene happened behind them and saw that their group was still not moving, "It looks like I have to step in." He sighed, turning back to Matthew, "As your Commanding Officer, Cadet Matthew Resse, I give you my permission to go home with your family. You can turn in the report to me later once you'll be back at the headquarters. For now, be with your family. You've earned."

"Thank you, Captain." Matthew expressed his gratitude to Erwin as Erwin just smiled at him and waved it off.

"You're welcome." Erwin replied, "Now just go home and enjoy the time with your family. I'll let Petra and Eld know you that you met your family and left to spend some time with them."

Matthew and Erwin departed in their own ways right after, the former sending the latter one last grateful look as they did so. Ed, Double D, Eddy and Matthew walked into the crowd of people, beginning to make their way towards Eddy and Matthew's house as the Survey Corps pushed themselves into a march through the street after Erwin confronted the Commander.

Eddy looked around himself, noticing two people missing from the crowd, "Where are Eren and Mikasa? There were around here just a moment ago."

"They must have already left to bring the wood they gathered in their tumpline's home." Double D theorized as Eddy nodded his head at his theory.

The group of four walked away from the crowd of civilians as the crowd slowly began to disperse, the civilians whispering among themselves about what just happened between the Commander of the Survey Corps and the grieving mother. As he proceeded to make his way to house with his friends and older brother, Eddy asked Matthew about his recent expedition beyond the wall and Matthew began sharing his story with his younger brother, making sure to leave all the bloody parts out of his story.

Their conversation was interrupted when someone bumped into Matthew. The group of four looked at the person they had just come across and and saw a dark haired man in his late 20's. They quickly recognized him as they were quite familiar with him. It was Duncan Fring, a good family friend of the Resse family. He just like Matthew wore a military uniform. The only difference was that the emblem had two roses on it.

"Boys!" Duncan exclaimed upon setting his eyes on the Eds, his cheeks slightly reddened, "It's good to see you!"

Ed waved his hand at Duncan in a friendly manner, "Hi Duncan!"

Eddy covered his nose in disgust, "You reek of booze!"

"I do?" Duncan chuckled sheepishly at the accusation.

"You do, Mr. Fring." Edd looked at the man in front of him sternly, "Have you been drinking again on your job?"

"Oh, looks like you caught me, Double D, haha." Duncan rubbed the back of his head, laughing sheepishly, "We played a game on who should move out and get some more. I lost." His tone became more serious when shifted his attention from the kids to Matthew, "Now, onto the important matters, I'm glad you made it back alive, kid. Your parents would be heartbroken if you were one of casualties."

"I know. This is why I did everything I could to stay alive." Matthew replied as he rubbed Eddy's head a little, "I don't want to imagine what would end happen with my little brother if I hadn't come back from the latest expedition."

"Are you still sure about being in the Survey Corps?" Duncan asked. It was the question he asked Matthew whenever he got an opportunity to do so, "With your ranking, you would be welcomed in MP's with open arms."

"You ask me this question everytime we talk and my answers will always be the same." Matthew replied, "I joined the Survey Corps with the intentions of getting rid of all the Titans and giving the humanity a chance to see what's beyond our walls without having to worry about getting eaten alive and I'm planning to stick with it."

"I see." Duncan sighed in understanding, before shifting his attention to the younger Resse and his friends. He didn't know why he kept asking Matthew this one question as he knew nothing he will say will convince him to change his choice, "I'm assume you will follow your brothers path after you will join the military, Eddy?"

Eddy immediately nodded in confirmation, "Yes! I intent to help my bro get rid of all the Titans!"

"Can't say I'm suprised by this." Duncan admitted. Matthew had been Eddy's role model for as long as he could remember. It would be no suprise for him if he followed his brothers footsteps after joining the military, "I'll see all of you around, then. Hannes and the rest are probably wondering why it is taking me so long."

"Alright." Matthew nodded, "I'll see you soon too, Duncan."

"I will get going as well." Double D said as Duncan walked away from the group, "Father and Mother are most likely waiting for me with supper and I don't want to keep them waiting."

"Okay." Eddy nodded at his friend, "Talk to you later, Double D?"

"Of course." Double D nodded, turning away from his friend, "I'll be over at your house as soon as I will finish my supper."

Eddy shifted his gaze from Double D to Ed as Double D walked away in the direction of his house, "What about you, Lumpy?"

"Sarah said she doesn't want me in the house until night because she will be busy playing with Jimmy and doesn't want me to keep them distracted." Ed explained, not realizing how wrong this sounded.

Eddy could only shake his head at his friend, letting out a sigh. If he was honest with himself, it always amazed him how much Ed loved and cared about Sarah, despise Sarah treating him the way she did. If he had her as his younger sister, he would have lost his patience with her a long time ago.

"Then why don't you join us for dinner?" Matthew suggested, sighing internally at Ed's words. It wouldn't be the first time when he asked Ed if he could join their family for dinner. He at least didn't have to worry about his parents complaining about having another person around for dinner. His parents always welcomed Eddy's friends in their household with open arms.

Ed instantly nodded his head at the offer, "That would be great!"

When Ed, Eddy and Matthew arrived arrived at their destination, Matthew was attacked by his mother Linda who hugged him like her life depended on it the moment he walked into the house. It wasn't long before Eddy and Matthew's father Cameron walked over to Matthew and joined the hug, relieved to see that his oldest son had returned alive from his trip beyond the wall.

After greeting her oldest son in her household, Linda went back into the kitchen where she was preparing a dinner when Eddy, Matthew and Ed arrived at her house, happy to have her whole family home today. Eddy and Ed began setting up the table after Cameron father asked them to do so as Matthew and Cameron went into the kitchen where Matthew asked his parents if Ed could stay today for the dinner. Linda and Cameron had no problem with it as Eddy's friends were always a welcome guest in their household.

Linda finished the meal she was preparing for the dinner a few minutes later. After the meal was put on the plates Ed and Eddy put on the dinner table, everyone took their seats. Not wasting any time, everyone immediately dug into the meal Linda had worked on. The house became filled with laughter and happiness for the next several minutes. Everyone complimented Linda's cooking and a few jokes were exchanged between everyone gathered around the table. Right now, everything seemed perfect to Eddy.

Not everything seemed perfect to Linda and Cameron, though. Even though, Matthew was smilling for the entire dinner and shared a few jokes with his family, they could tell there was something wrong with their oldest son. His smile seemed strained and a few of his laughs sounded forced for them. Needless to say, it caused them to worry about him.

"Matthew." Cameron called out for his son after everyone finished eating their dinner.

Matthew shifted his attention from Eddy to his dad. He immediately noticed the worried looks his parents were sending his way. He sighed internally, knowing what was coming, 'Yes, dad?"

"Have you thought about tranfering into a different military branch?" Cameron asked his son as Matthew nodded his head internally, his suspicious turning out to be correct. His parents just like Duncan started asking him this one question ever since his joined the Survey Corps and never stopped asking him it, no matter how many times he told them he had no plans of doing so. He knew they were doing this because they were worried about him, but he just wanted them to accept his choice.

Eddy sighed to himself, knowing he should have seen this question from either his dad or mom coming. His parents had been so proud of his older brother when he managed to get into the top fifteen ranking of his cadet corps, but their pride didn't last long and was replaced with worry when they learned that his bro joined the Survey Corps instead of the Military Police like many people with his ranking would definitely do. His mom stayed up all night after his brother went on his latest expedition, praying for the return of her firstborn son.

"No." Matthew shook his head, "Dad. No matter how many times you or mom or Duncan will ask me this question, my answer will remain the same."

"We're just worried that one time you might not come back alive." Linda explained, "How many of your comrades died during this expedition?"

Matthew sighed as his mind flew to his latest expedition, "Too many."

"Exactly." Linda said, "If you'd leave the Survey Corps and join the Military Police, you'd live in the Capital behind Wall Sina without having to worry about your own life."

"Mom." Matthew said, "I'm not going to leave the Survey Corps and nothing you or dad or Duncan or anyone will say will change my mind. I had my own reasons for joining the Survey Corps and I'm going to stick with them. If I would leave the Survey Corps now, I would just be abandonding my comrades like Eld and Petra and would just give up on the comdrades who were less fortunate than me and lost their lives when venturing outside."

"At least you'd be alive." Linda pointed out.

Matthew sighed, "Mom..."

"Who would want to live with all those rich jerks anyway?" Eddy asked, referring to the people living behind Wall Sina before his older brother could say more.

Linda shifted her attention from Matthew to Eddy, "Eddy."

"What? It's true." Eddy replied.

"Eddy." Cameron said, "In two years from now on, you will be able to join the military. Are you planning to enlist?"

Eddy nodded in confirmation, "Yes."

"And what regiment will you join?" Linda asked, worry becoming evident in her voice as she knew where this was going.

"The Survey Corps." Eddy replied without any hesitation in his voice, "I'll probably enlist and join together with Eren as he wants to join the Survey Corps too."

"Eddy. Are you sure about this?" Cameron asked.

Linda turned to her oldest son, "Matthew. Tell him something."

"I think he should choose for himself, mom. It's his choice after all." Matthew gave her an honest answer, "Maybe you should at least listen to his reasons why he wants to join the Survey Corps."

Cameron sighed, "Why do you want to join the Survey Corps?"

"I want to see the outside world and get rid of all the Titans." Eddy explained his reasons for wanting to join the Survey Corps to his parents, "Double D and Armin dreamed of seeing the sea for as long as I can remember. I'll be able to help them fullfil their dream by joining the Survey Corps and getting rid of all the Titans!" He looked at parents with an annoyed look on his face when he saw the look his mother gave him. It was the same she had on her face when she found out that Matthew joined the Survey Corps, "Why can't you or Duncan just accept that not everyone wants to live behind the walls for their whole lives!?"

Having enough of this discussion, Eddy hopped off his seat and stormed out of the house, paying no attention to his mom and dad's cries to come back. He didn't even close the door after running out of the house.

Ed quickly followed his friend and ran out of the house, closing the door his friend left wide open behind him, "Eddy! Wait for me!"

Eddy proceeded to run through the streets of the district with an angered look on his face as Ed made sure to follow his friend. A frustated sigh escaped his mouth as he couldn't stop thinking about the discussion he just had with parents which made him storm out of the house. What was wrong with him wanting to join the Survey Corps? He just wanted to see the outside world. He just wanted to help Armin and Double D fullfil their dreams of seeing the sea. What was wrong with it?

As he and Ed proceeded to run through the streets of the district, they stumbled upon Double D who was on his way to met up with his friends after a dinner with his family. After seeing how his friend just ran past him as if they didn't even notice him, Double D followed them, once again cursing himself for his poor physical fitness as he knew something must have happened after he split up from his friend earlier.

When Eddy turned the corner, he looked down the street which was leading to Eren's house and saw Eren's father Grisha walking along the street with a suitcase in his hand, heading of to do something he presumed to be related to his job of a doctor. He started running down the street to Eren's house, ignoring the cries of Double D who was out of breath. As he got closer, he saw Eren outside his house with Mikasa and his mother Carla, hearing how Carla began to scold Eren about something.

"...I won't let you." Carla said as Eren turned to look at his mother while Mikasa stood behind Carla in silence "Joining the Survey Corps? Don't be stupid."

"Huh? Stupid!? I think people who're fine being cattle are way more stupid!" Eren shouted at his mother before running down the area between houses.

"Eren!" Carla called out after her son, but it was for nothing as Eren ignored her as Ed, Double D and Eddy made their way to them.

Double D put his hand on his knees, panting, "I-Is everything alright?"

Carla, now aware of the Eds' appearence, turned around to look at them and Mikasa with a serious look on her face, "Mikasa, Ed, Edd, Eddy, sometimes he doesn't think things through. When you're in trouble, you must help one another."

"Okay." Mikasa nodded and ran after Eren, followed by Eddy and Ed.

"Wait!" Double D shouted as he followed them, "G-Give me a moment to catch my breath! Please!"

Mikasa, Ed, Double D and Eddy ran together down the path between the houses as they followed Eren, with Mikasa easily outrunning them and catching up to Eren. When they turned the corner, they saw a group of three kids who ithey mmediately recognized as the group of three bullies ganging up on one blond haired boy they were familiar with as well.

"Stop it!" Eren yelled as he caught the attention of the bullies as they turned his way.

"That's Eren!" One of the bullies said as they got cocky looks on their faces and readied to beat Eren up, "The fool's back."

"Let's give him what he wants!" The last one said before looking behind Eren where he saw. Mikasa, Ed, Eddy and Double D running behind him, with the latter of the four barely managing to keep up with his friends. The bullies focused their entire attention on Mikasa who was giving them a death glare, "Oh crap! She's with him!"

"Ed's with him too!" His friend exclaimed, noticing the presence of the strongest of the Eds.

"Does he have a pebble in his shoe?" The other one asked as his friends shivered in fear at the thought of facing Ed with a pebble in his shoe. Ed, despise being one of the people who seemed to be too good for this world was quite scary when he had a pebble in his shoe. The three of them learned it the hard way.

"I don't know and I don't want to know!" His friend replied as he turned away and fleed from the scene in fear of facing Mikasa's and or maybe even Ed's wrath, his friends following their example.

A large grin spread over Eren's face as he watched how the bullies fleed from the scene. He stopped running when he was next to the blond haired boy, "Hey, they took off after seeing me!"

"No, they probably ran because of Mikasa." The blond haired boy muttered as Mikasa, Ed, Eddy and Double D reached the scene, the latter finally getting a chance to catch his breath he was desperately waiting for. He tried and failed to stand up, "Ow..."

"Is everything alright, Armin?" Double D asked in concern for his friend, catching his breath as Ed offered his hand to the boy, now named Armin.

Armin looked at the hand and looked down, gritting his teeth, "I can stand up on my own."

"Are you sure?" Double D wanted to be sure.

"Yes." Armin nodded, getting himself back on his feet.

The sun was slowly starting to go down from the sku as the group of friends sat together near the waterside of the district, listening to Armin's story about how the bullies from earlier started tormenting him.

"...So, when I said mankind would eventually need to go outside, they hit me, saying I was a heretic." Armin finished the reason for why he was being bullied. Double D sighed when Armin finished his story and gave him a sympathetic look as he had to go through the same experience a few times whenever he displayed his interest in seeing the outside world.

"Damn it." Eren muttered as he threw a rock into the water, "Why does simply wanting to go outside turn everyone against us?"

"I know, right?" Eddy agreed with Eren, "Why can't people accept that not everyone wants to spend their lives behind the walls."

"Well, it's because it's been peaceful within the walls for the past 100 years." Armin answered, "In order to prevent inviting them in through a reckless attempt to go outside, the king's government created a policy that made holding interest in the outside world taboo."

"We're risking our own lives." Eren said as Eddy nodded in agreement, "It's our choice to make."

"I won't let you." Mikasa said, making the everyone shift their attention to her, "You can't."

"Oh yeah, I can't believe you ratted me out!" Eren looked at Mikasa with an annoyed look on his face, confusing their friends. Armin, Double D and Eddy quickly realized what Eren was talking about, but Ed remained as clueless about it as ever.

"Why is Eren angry at Mikasa, guys?" Ed whispered to his friends, wanting to know why Eren was angry at Mikasa.

"She probably told them about Eren's plans to join the Survey Corps, Ed." Double D whispered back as Ed hummed and nodded in understanding.

Mikasa looked away from Eren, "I don't remember saying I'd help."

"Wh-What'd they say?" Armin asked.

"Well... they weren't happy about it." Eren replied as Armin and Double D sighed at their friends answer.

"My parents weren't happy when they found out that I want to join the Survey Corps too." Eddy added, making Armin and Double D sigh again.

"I figured." Armin stated as Double D nodded in agreement, "True, I think those who believe the walls will forever provide a life of peace need to face reality. Just because the wall has done its job for the past 100 years, it doesn't guarantee that it won't be breached today..."

Double D opened his mouth, intending to say something, but his words died in his throat. It was when a lightning stuck from outside the wall, causing a powerful shockwave. Ed, Double D, Eddy, Eren, Mikasa and Armin jumped from their seats from the powerful impact. They weren't the only people affected by it. Everyone in Shiganshina stumbled and fell over from the powerful impact.

"W-What happened?" Eddy asked as he and his friends slowly got up from the ground.

"An explosion?" Armin asked in confusion after getting himself back on his feet.

"I don't know." Double D replied, "I've never experienced something like this."

"It came from there!" The group of friends turned to the sound of the voice and saw a group of civilians heading to where the noise came from.

"Seems like something fell."

"I have no idea."

Not wasting any time, Armin and Double D quickly rushed to where the civilians were heading, wanting to know what was happening around them.

"Guys!" Ed shouted after his friends and followed them, leaving Eren, Eddy and Mikasa behind.

Eren, Eddy and Mikasa wasted no time and followed them to the place they were heading towards right now. It didn't took them long to catch up to their friends. Armin, Double D and even Ed stood frozen in shock as they looked up at the sky along with the other civilians. Wanting to know what their friends and everyone else around them were staring at right now, Eren, Eddy and Mikasa looked in the direction they were staring at.

Eddy and Eren felt their eyes widened in pure horror when they saw was happening. They saw a giant red hand clutching on the top of the wall, strong enough to break parts of it with its hand.

"No way..." Armin muttered in horror, "That wall is fifty meters tall!"

"How is that possible?" Double D asked in pure shock as he tried think of a logical explanation to this, but for the first time in his life nothing was coming to his mind. His friends stayed silent, too stunned to say anything.

"It's them." Eren whispered as his eyes widened in horror. The creature on the other side of the wall revealed its face to them. Steam was coming out from its body, and its face had no skin at all. It was just covered entirely in muscles you'll find under human skin, "A Titan!"

The Titan slowly raised it's right leg in the air and swung it down with the great force. The gate was destroyed and the impact of it was so powerful that it blew the people who were unfortunate enough to be close the entrance away. The houses were destroyed as the people were crushed by the flying debris of the gate. As the dust slowly died down, a massive hole in the wall were revealed to everyone.

"Th-They." Armin stuttered out in fear as the Titan hid behind the wall, "Blew a h-hole in the wall."

Double D let out a deep breath, pure fear filling his eyes, "No..."

It was when a single Titan walked throught he destroyed gate, entering the district. The creature looked down at it's prey right after walking through the gate as the civilians began panicking and running away after seeing the monstronity.

"They're coming inside!"

"The Titans are coming!"

Armin began to panic, but did his best to calm down along with Mikasa, "We need to..." He saw Eren walking in the direction of the destruction, "Eren!"

"Our house is..." Eren said, ignoring a few people bumping on him, "Mom is..."

Realizing what he meant, Mikasa quickly ran to Eren as Armin reached his out for his friend, "Mikasa!..."

"My family!" Eddy's mind instantly flew to his family. He split up from his friends and began running in the direction of his house.

"Eddy!" Double D reached towards his friend in worry, "Wait!"

"Sarah!" Ed screamed out of pure concern for his little sister as he immediately pushed himself into a run towards his home.

"Ed!" Double D cried out for his other friend in worry, but unfortunely his worry filled cry fell deaf on Ed's ears. The only thing that mattered to his friend right now was bringing his little sister to safety.

Armin reached his hand out to his friends, but his arm froze and trembled. Seeing his arm trembling, he put his free hand on it and used it to lower it down, trying to calm himself down, but it was no use. The arm was still shaking. He looked down at the ground and let out a quiet, causing Double D to shift his gaze to him, "...It's over..."

"Armin?" Double D let out a shaky whisper of concern, a terrified breath leaving his lungs. Despise being terrified himseld, he reached his hand out to his friend and put it on his shoulder, shaking him a little, "Armin! Snap out of it!"

Armin lifted his gaze up from the ground and looked at his friend, tears beginning to appear in his eyes as he yelled out, "...This town is going to be overrun by Titans!"

Eddy let out one deep breath after another as he proceeded to run through the streets of Shiganshina, ignoring a few civilians bumping at him and the bodies that were crushed by the debris. He made sure to keep looking around himself just in case if his family will happen to be somewhere on the streets which could have been the case, considering how many people were on the streets right now.

He was forced to stop dead in his tracks a few moments later before he was able to reach his house, his eyes widening in fear. It was when a Titan passed the corner and set it's attention on the single young boy in front of it, this unfortunate boy being Eddy. The monstronity stared down at him, like an animal at it's prey as it slowly advanced towards him, it's feet letting out thumps whenever they collided with the ground.

Eddy remained in his place as if someone had frozen him into it, feeling how fear overcame his whole body, his terrified eyes not leaving the Titan in front of him. He had to run. He knew that. But he was so scared right now, that his body, his feet, just wouldn't move. All the confidence he had in facing a Titan everytime when he dreamed of becoming a member of the Survey Corps and fighting them alongside his brother was gone. It was extinguished like a match in mere seconds.

It was when a figure zipped across behind the Titan and slashed it's nape, killing it in the blink of an eye. The Titan slowly fell forward, it's large body landing on the ground a few seconds later, shaking the ground a little upon the impact. Eddy opened his eyes after hearing how the large body of a Titan landed on the ground and slowly looked up at the person who just saved his life, finding out who was his savior. It was his big brother.

"Pipsquek!" Matthew called out for his brother as he rushed over to him to him, a look of pure relief on his face.

"Bro!" Eddy smiled widely, despise what was happening around him, right after setting his eyes on his savior.

Matthew ran over to his brother and knelt down in front of him, "Are you hurt?"

"No." Eddy shook his head, panicking, "I just got a little scared. The Titan just appeared in front of me and I..."

"It's okay, pipsquek." Matthew said in an attempt to calm his brother down, "Don't worry. The Titan won't get you anywhere. I took care of it. Now let's just get outta here. I'm going to get you to safety."

"What about our parents?" Eddy asked as soon as his brother mentioned getting out of here, "We have to go get them! They should be in our house! We can't just leave them out here!"

Matthew clenched his teeth when his younger brother mentioned their parents, bracing himself for the way his brother was going to react to the information he was about to give him, "...Pipsquek. I don't know how to say this..."

"What are you saying, bro?" Eddy asked, worry evident in his voice.

"Mom and dad are dead." Matthew revealed to Eddy the fate of their parents as Eddy's eyes widened in shock upon hearing this information. Matthew cursed himself internally for his choice of words, but at the same time couldn't blame himself for it. How was he supposed to tell a boy his brothers age that he was not going to see his parents again? Especially with all those terrible things happening around them right now.

"W-What?" Eddy stuttered out, worry growing in his voice, "What do you mean they're dead? How can they be dead? They were in our house when I left with Ed! How could they have been killed when they were in our house?! They're alive! You'll see! We just have to go and get them from our house!..."

Matthew cringed at the view of his brother attempts at denying their parents fate as Eddy continued to voice his doubts regardings their parents fate. He put his hands on Eddy's shoulder, silencing his younger brother, "Mom and dad are dead, pipsquek. I wish I could say that it's not true. I really do. We went out on a walk shorty after you left to talk things out in the fresh air. A fragment of the wall crashed right into them right after the Titan made a hole in the wall." Eddy gasped as Matthew explained how their parents met their demise, tears forming in his eyes, "It happened in the blink of an eye. One second I was looking at the wall and when I looked at our parents, they were already dead. I couldn't do anything to save them."

"W-wait! What about my friends!?" Eddy asked, now openly crying. If his parents couldn't be saved, then he had to at least make sure his friends were going to make it out alive, "We can't just leave them!"

"Don't worry about them!" Matthew assured his younger brother, "I saw Double D with his parents and Armin with his grandpa when I was searching for you! They were heading to where I am planning to take you!"

Ed ran as fast as his legs could carry him, passing by a lot of people who were running as far away from the destroyed gate as they could with either by themselves or with their loved ones by their side. The thoughts of following their example and getting himself to safety were far away from crossing his mind right now. His desire of ensuring his little sister

As he neared his house, something above him caught his attention. This view made him stop dead in his tracks. It was a house. An actual house where a family such as his would live was flying in the air, like it was thrown by someone or something. He watched how the house flied for a second before it crashed somewhere close to him. His eyes widened when the thought it could have crashed somewhere close to his house flew through his head.

The thought of this flying house crashing into his family's house quickly became the only subject Ed was thinking about right now. He started running forward himself, passing the corner several seconds later. It was when his family's house appeared in his view. What he saw almost made his heart sink. His worries about the flying house crashing into his family's house became true.

His family's house was completely destroyed when the flying house crashed into it. The rubble of the two houses covered the area surrounding Ed's house. Ed let out a tearful breath as he was about to push himself into a run towards the rubble of his house, wanting to find his family somewhere in it. He never reached his house as someone grabbed him from behind and pulled him to the side, between the old crates. Ed looked over his shoulder, wanting to know who it was and saw Duncan.

He was about to ask Duncan why he stopped him. He wanted to ask him why he was stopping him from getting his family, but didn't got a chance to do so as Duncan put his hand over his mouth, covering it, preventing him from saying naything. It was when Ed heard loud footsteps not too far from him and Duncan. He and Duncan turned to the source of the noise and saw who or rather what was responsible for throwing the house which landed on Ed's house with Ed's family in it.

It was a Titan, but it wasn't anything like the common ones. It was about 15 meters tall and green eyes. It had visible muscles on it's arms. It's skin on it's chest area, looked a bit different than it did on the normal Titans. Duncan noticed something about it upon narrowing his eyes with the intention of getting a better look at the monstronity. It's skin looked like it had a slight, almost unnoticeable layer of armor. The last thing he noticed about this Titan was it's pure blue hair.

The Titan walked past the ruins of Ed's house and made it's way to the neighboring house. It leaned down and wrapped it's hands it's sides, beginning to rip it out from the ground. Cracks echoed across the area as some parts of the house were cracked under the pressure of the Titan's hands. It wasn't long, a few seconds to be exact, before the house was picked up from the ground by the beast. The Titan placed the house on it's shoulder, it's arm preventing the part of the house that couldn't fit it's shoulder from falling down, the weight of it doing nothing to it.

Duncan and Ed watched the entire scene in utter shock. Neither of them could believe what they were witnessing. Was this Titan really capable of lifting up entire houses from the ground like it was nothing to it? The might have witnessed how this Titan threw an entire house from the distance and how it landed right on Ed's home, destroying it completely, but still, seeing it lift up an entire house was still a complete shock to them.

The Titan adjusted the house on it's shoulder, making sure it was not going to fall off and shifted it's gaze between it's sides for a brief moment, allowing it's green eyes to take a look around, before marching forward towards the unknown destination, not noticing Ed and Duncan. After watching how the Titan slowly walked away from the scene, Ed felt how the shock of seeing a Titan lift up an entire house from the house like it was nothing completely left his body and was replaced with concern for his family.

"My family!" He shouted the moment the matter of his family being in the rubble of his house returned to his mind. He was about to push himself into a run towards the rubble

"You can't save any of them, Ed! Everyone in your house was killed when the flying house crashed into it!" Duncan pointed out, the denial the young boy was in right now making him feel terrible as he grabbed Ed by the back of his clothes with the intention of taking the kid to safety.

"No! They're not dead!" Ed shouted in denial as he desperately attempted to free himself from Duncan's grasp, "They're still alive! I'll show you!"

"You can't save any of them, Ed!" Duncan shouted as he struggled to drag Ed away from the ruins of his house and the lifeless bodies of his parents, his sister and his sisters best friend which wasn't an easy thing to do, considering how strong Ed was, "We have to go!"

"No! Let me go!" Duncan's pleas fell deaf on Ed's ears because there was only one thing that mattered to the young boy right now. Ed attempted to free himself from Duncan's grasp, tears streaming down his face like a waterfall, "I have to go get them! Mom! Dad! SARAH!"

Duncan felt how his eyes widened in alarm once he felt how Ed was about to free himself from his grasp. Having no other options right now, he did the only thing he could do to save him from running into a certain death. He hit him in the back of his head with the handle of his blade, knocking the boy to the ground. He looked at the boy with a pitful apologetic look on his face.

"I'm sorry, Ed." He whispered to Ed, not knowing if the boy could hear him right now. He reached down and picked him up from the ground, before putting him over his shoulder. He turned away from the ruins of Ed's house and started to run away from them, "I'm so sorry..."

Ed's vision was blurry as he took one last look at his ruined house, seeing how the Titan that just reached the ruins of his home picked up Sarah's the unmoving corpse from the rubble. He saw how the beast opened it's mouth widely as it slowly lifted Sarah's corpse up to it's mouth. It placed Sarah's body inside it's mouth and clenched it's teeth. Blood splattered everywhere once it's teeth bit into Sarah's body, cutting it into half like nothing.

Watching how the Titans began feasting on the bodies of his family, Ed reached his hand out towards his house, letting out a quiet, "...Sarah..."

It was the last thing he saw before Duncan turned the corner, the ruins of his house disappearing from Ed's view.

On that day the humanity received a grim reminder that they lived in fear of the Titans and that they were disgraced to live in these cages they called walls...

Welp, here we go with a new story from me. I haven't figured out the update schedule for this story as my MHA Villain OC insert story and my TWD and TD crossover will remain my main focus for now but I'll try to get the next chapter out soon.

Hope it wasn't so bad. See you in another chapter.
