A/N:
Hey y'all.
You may recognize me from my An Elite's Tale series (installments one through four are in reboot at the moment) or have never seen my name before today. Either way, I'd like to invite you on a brand new adventure I'm cooking up.
My typical method for crafting fanfiction is to encapsulate each adventure in their set universe to the best of my ability. This of course translates to capturing what gameplay would look or feel like through the lens of a living, breathing character.
As such, I've never quite understood the shoddy attempts at erotica that tend to plague the fanfiction genre. Ships, lemons, or anything like that has never been a consideration for me in the heat of battle.
Further, my tales in the past have 'inspired' may similar tales. Whiskey-One (since removed) and Noble 7 come to mind, but of course there is my boy Ludo. This used to be a Spartan dominated category, but since I've published (2014) and reposted An Elite's Tale over the years, it changes the landscape.
It happened when the hype was Blue Team and Spartan Locke. It happened when Atriox was all the rage. And it happened again, when I reposted Shipmaster's Plague. Everything went from the return of the Master Chief straight back to the Great Schism.
It just gets old after awhile, the decent traffic and 'borrowed' ideas just to have one reader out of one hundred to comment 'this is good'. However, I've been dealing with it long enough to shrug and keep writing.
So, I will be posting an original concept not yet seen here in the Halo category. Do I expect knockoffs claiming originality? Of course. How about dedicated eyeballs? As sure as I know the sun will rise. But do I hope for recognition, due credit, or genuine props? No, no longer am I that foolish.
Now, story time!

Ralgo 'Jotunee listened to the words of his commanding officer in his earpiece as he and his team exited the stairwell and entered into an ornate room with a high vaulted ceiling. The walls were adorned with beautiful paintings while sculptures and plants in tall vases peppered the room.
"Our reinforcements cannot land in that building until it is confirmed secure. I do not need to reiterate exactly how many lives are at stake here. You know what is expected."
"I'll be thorough," Ralgo assured him.
After signing off, Ralgo double, then triple checked the locations displayed on his GPS tablet.
Only three rooms, he thought with glee. Only three rooms to check, then we're out of here.
Still, he wanted to end this as quick possible. No human forces were left in the area, let alone one of the five or six identical corporate office buildings. That even a small group of humans would be hiding here, and in this particular building no less, was a joke. Ralgo and his team should be down on the street helping mop up the rest of the Imps, not wasting their time chasing ghosts and shadows.
"We will break into three teams of two. Tokka," Ralgo said, nodding to the Jackal. "You're with me. Ozacleese and Kazz, clear the lobby. The grunts check security."
And with that, the team split up and moved deeper into the building.
