I asked Tokoyami and Shoto to meet me at an ice cream place not far from the hospital that Rei Todoroki is at and I had a letter sealed in an envelope to give to each of them for dad.
I waited for them at a table in the back. I see Shoto come in first and quickly wave him over. We sit there quietly when Shoto asks me, "Do you want ice cream, Cara? I can go get you some if you want as I'm going to get myself some."
I say, "Sure. My favorite is mint chocolate chip and chocolate chip cookie dough so which ever one they got is great."
Shoto chuckles and asks, "Cone or cup?"
I say, "Probably a cup as it will be easier to talk to you both that way."
Shoto goes to the counter and orders and as he is waiting for them to scoop the ice cream I see Tokoyami walk in. I wave to him and he heads my way.
Tokoyami says, "Hey, Cara. Did you end up getting what you needed since the mall shut down yesterday?"
I nod and say, "Yeah I did just had to go to more places than I would have liked. Anyways Shoto is getting him and me ice cream if you want some you can go ahead."
Tokoyami says, "Okay. I'm going to get some be right back."
As Tokoyami goes to the counter, Shoto comes back with his and my ice creams. I chuckle seeing that Shoto had gotten me a scoop of each and he had gotten the same exact thing.
Shoto looks at me funny and asks, "What are you giggling at?"
I smile and say, "Oh it's nothing. I just didn't expect that you'd get me a scoop of both nor that you'd get the exact same thing."
Shoto smiles at me and says, "Well why not? It sounded good and they are your favorites so I figured why not."
My smile widens as Shoto hands me one of the two spoons and I take a bite of mine. I close my eyes savoring the taste and say once I'm doing with the bite, "Thank you, Shoto. It's been a long time since I've had ice cream."
After another minute Tokoyami sits down with two scoops of vanilla ice cream.
Tokoyami says, "It was a good idea to meet here."
I say, "It was kinda a mid way point as well as a good spot to have a meeting because it's not too crowded."
Shoto asks, "How are you two after the mall incident yesterday?"
Tokoyami says, "Fine."
I say, "Okay. Izuku and Uraraka were the only ones that faced him so they'd be the ones to ask. I just hate that I had a feeling something was wrong but couldn't figure out what it was."
Tokoyami says, "You can't expect to know all of these things, Cara."
Shoto says, "He's right you know."
I sigh and say, "I know it's just hard."
We go silent for a little bit while we eat our ice cream. When we finished Tokoyami stands saying, "I'll go ahead and throw these containers out."
Shoto and I hand him ours and we wait until he comes back.
Tokoyami says, "So you said yesterday that you needed to talk to both of us and give us something. Something about it being about another one of your 'feelings'."
I sigh and say, "Yes. Okay first I need to explain something about these feelings."
I glance at Shoto and Tokoyami to see them both watching and listening to me closely.
I continue, "These feelings come and go but almost always they are on the money. I can't say what is going to happen normally its just a feeling somethings going to go wrong or something bad is getting ready to happen. The attack on the USJ I felt something bad was going to happen that day hence why I was on alert that day. And there's been a few others though not as bad. Yesterday as you well know Tokoyami, I felt like something was off but I didn't know what. This training camp I feel is not going to go the way it's meant to something is going to go wrong I just don't know what...But I feel that something might happen to me I'm not sure what but..."
Seeing me hesitating to go on Shoto asks, "What is it, Cara?"
I sigh and say, "I need to ask you both a really big favor. I wouldn't ask this if it wasn't important."
Tokoyami says, "You can ask us, Cara."
I say, "Okay." I pull the envelopes out of my small backpack and set them on the table in front of me. I continue, "In each of these two envelopes contains a letter for dad in case something were to happen to me at camp. Each letter says something different so yes he can have both and that would be ideal for him to get both. If my feeling is right and something happens to me at camp I need you to give these to him."
Shoto says, "Okay but why us?"
I say, "Because you both are really strong so I feel like one or both of you will be able to give these to dad. Plus I needed to know I could trust the person 100% with them."
Tokoyami says, "Why not give these to him beforehand that way he can look at them without needing someone else to give it to him?"
I say, "Because if what I keep thinking might happen he won't be in good enough space to think of what I'd given to him before. Plus if I say he's to open it if something happens to me he goes into this whole spell about not letting anything happen to me and whatever and I have a feeling he won't be able to prevent this no matter how hard he tries."
I push the envelope that has ST written on the front to Shoto and the envelope that had FT written on it to Tokoyami.
They each take their envelope and Tokoyami says, "I will protect it and make sure he gets it if something happens to you though I seriously hope it doesn't."
Shoto says, "I will as well but you knew that already."
Tokoyami stands and asks, "It's getting later than I thought. Do you need anything else, Cara?"
I say, "No. And thank you, Tokoyami. I hope I'm not asking too much."
Tokoyami says, "It's not a problem I just realized that I need to get home for dinner is all."
I smile softly and say, "Thanks for coming. See you later."
Tokoyami leaves and Shoto sighs and says, "I had a good talk with mom yesterday."
I say, "Oh, you did? I'm glad. Sorry for not going with you like we've been doing."
Shoto says, "No, it was a good thing this time. Mom actually helped me plan something."
I tilt my head to the side as Shoto gets something out of his pocket. Shoto holds a small black box in his hands and says, "I want to ask you something."
I ask, "What is it, Shoto?"
Shoto says, "You know how mom talked about that first time we went to the hospital and saw her?"
I say blushing, "Yes I remember well."
Shoto says opening the box, "I was wondering if you'd do me the honor of being my girlfriend?"
I sit there stunned and then break out into the biggest grin and say jumping up and going to hug Shoto, "Yes! A million times yes, Shoto!"
Shoto removes the paper from the thing in the box and I see a beautiful silver necklace with a phoenix and a fox pendant on it representing us both. Me as the phoenix and Shoto as the fox. I laugh as Shoto takes it from the box and places it around my neck clipping it in the back.
Shoto asks, "Do you like it?"
Grabbing ahold of the two pendants I smile and say, "Yes, I love it, Shoto. Thank you."
Shoto and I hold hands as we make our way towards our houses. Shoto walks me home and we hug before he kisses the back of my hand before heading back towards his. The training camp was going to be interesting with me and Shoto now dating.
