"Denizens of Mondstadt, it is I, the Prinzessin der Verurteilung who has come upon the mortal coil of this world and bless these scarred lands with the presence of one such as I." A drastic movement was made, long blond hair blew in the wind, light green eyes twinkled upon the light of the sun, and no one else was in sight to witness the display besides her familiar.

"Mein fräulein, that was an excellent display." A masculine voice spoke, though it belonged to a raven.

"Thou appreciation was noted, Oz." The feminine voice replied back to the raven named Oz, unperturbed that no one else was there to witness her magnificent display.

"Thank you, mein fräulein, but if may I ask, why have we returned to Mondstadt so early?" Oz asked, though he did not mind returning early, it was a rare occurrence since they never returned early unless the situation proved urgent, this was not one of these times.

She let out a sigh, "I too, do worry about the well-being of my retinue during my impromptu absence. Is it wrong for me to not visit my dear subjects?" She used her hand flick her long blonde hair.

The raven agreed with her, though he remained in character, "I'm sure the good people of the Adventurers' Guild are absolutely fine, mein fräulein." It was after all, not their first time returning early since it does happen even though it rarely happened and quite sporadically as well.

She humphed, "I suppose that you are right." She then brought out a piece of paper, a letter from the guilds receptionist of Liyue, Katheryne, to the guild receptionist of Mondstadt, Katheryne. "I suppose that we should hasten our pace before the sun sets lest we draw the ire of the ever dutiful Katherine."

"It is nothing to worry about mein fräulein, though Katherine and Katherine haven't spoken to each other in quite a while, she wouldn't blame you if you were late to deliver the letter." Oz eased his masters thoughts as he looked over the forest, the two of them could see the city of Mondstadt already, and the slowly setting sun.

"We should hurry before sun sets, we don't want travel in darkness do we, mein fräulein?" He rhetorical asked, already soaring away to scout the area ahead not even waiting for a response.

She followed after him, though she did so on foot and took her time. Though she took a more leisurely pace as she used the road that went from Liyue and all the way to Mondstadt.

Though Hilichurls were quite the problem, they tended to stray away from the roads because they eventually began to figure out that the people using these roads more often than not had some form of protection or could easily defend themselves. And Fischl was in the latter, someone who could easily defend themselves against a small group of Hilichurls.

She could already see from a distance that a small group of said Hilichurls had spotted her though instead of attacking as they most likely intended to, they had instead allowed her to pass without trouble. She couldn't help but frown at the sight, they were beginning to know who was dangerous and who was easy pickings, she would need to report this at a later time though.

"Mein fräulein, do you see that?" Her ever faithful familiar, Oz, was soaring high above the ground and scouted the area around and ahead of her.

She nodded, one of the reasons she was so skilled in the field of scouting was quite simple, she could through Oz's eyes whenever she wants to, and she was seeing what Oz was currently looking at, "Oz, my familiar, spread your wings that eclipse the sun, soar through the clouds and unto the ill fated fellow." Oz did as he was told without a second thought.

"As you wish, mein fräulein." He flapped his wings and flew ever closer to the ground so they could have a better look at this person who had caught their attention. Upon closer and clearer inspection, this person was laying down on the ground, seemingly unconscious and unaware of Oz as he perched himself above the man on a branch.

The night raven let out a sigh, "It is nothing to worry about mein fräulein, someone has occupied this spot to take a nap it would seem." The raven almost flew away to continue scouting scouting the area for any possible future threats but the his fräulein's voice said otherwise.

"My familiar, stop!" He did as he was told without complaint, "He is wounded. It would stain my name as the Prinzessin der Verurteilung to simply leave him injured."

"As you wish, mein fräulein." The night raven perched himself high above a tree on a branch large enough to support his weight. He placed himself not too far from the unconscious man nor too close to him so that he may notice him if he were to wake up. While he was waiting for his fräulein, he took the chance to observe his surroundings.

He, along with the unconscious man, were in an area that didn't have too many trees, it was more of an open plains though trees were sprinkled about like the one he was perched on. But due to the lack of heavy forestry his eyes could quite easily see far away and easily spot any threats, or his fräulein who was currently running towards his location.

The sound of heels soon enough drew closer and closer and her rapidly approaching figure stopped just in front of him. He took a moment to look at the clothes she wore, and relatively she wore the same thing as always when she was out and about, Fishcl possessed blonde hair with two sections of the hair tied into twintails with black ribbons though unlike the right ribbon the left ribbon was decorated with a pattern of a bats wing, she also had light green eyes though a black eyepatch covered her left eye and, a petite build with fair skin.

Moving on to her choice of clothing he noted that it was as asymmetrical as physically possible, she told him it was important for the Prinzessin der Veruteilung to look the part. She wears a sleeveless black lace dress with a black lace collar and purple bow tie, cross stitched in, and black and violet tailcoats. On her left arm was a shoulder-length black glove and on her right arm a black and purple sleeve. Moving on to the lower part of her body, she wore a transparent black stocking on her right leg and a similar black thigh-high sock which was held by a garter on her left. She finishing the look with black boots that had a light purple lining, the heels of the boots were gold and the boots had a similar decoration to her left ribbon which was that they were decorated with bat wings.

"You've arrived, mein fräulein." He idly stated as he gave her his full attention.

"Indeed." She absently replied as her eyes turned downward and stared at the injured man on the ground, though she quickly approached him to not waste anymore time needlessly.

Fischl was no healer, the best she could was bandage. Conveniently the man in front of her had many wounds that needed to be attended to. For once she was happy that she brought a small medical bag containing the bare necessities when it comes to taking care of a person and more often than not Oz would be the one using it or at least telling her what to do.

Thankfully she would not suffer the indignity of being guided by Oz. With a swift motion the bag was opened and a bandage was in her hand.

"Mein fräulein, do you require assistance?" Oz offered his help to her but she instead firmly shook her head.

"I require not the help of mine companion, for it is you that shall watch and learn." With that said she began to try her absolute best to bandage the wounds and Oz already felt sorry for the young man, the bandages were very tightly wrapped on his body uncomfortable so.

Once she finished trying her best to bandage the wounds, Oz had to admit that at first glance it would seem like nothing was wrong, but he would not tell that to Fischl, "What shall we do with him now?" He instead asked his master and though the choice was clear to bring him with them, it was not entirely his call to make.

Like Oz, Fischl's line of thinking was the same. They couldn't just leave a defenseless and injured person in the middle of the road, he would be an easy target for the Hilichurls and anything he owned might as well be gone, "Oz, we shall bring this subject with us. He should feel honored that he is within the presence of the Prinzessin der Verurteilung and that she has graced him with her caring touch."

"As you wish, though may I ask, how will we bring him with us?" Oz couldn't exactly carry him since he didn't have the arms nor did he have the capabilities to do so, Fishcl though could do exactly just that, though she would have some problems.

She did not miss his gaze, "Oz! I-I shall not do such a thing!"

He blankly responded, "I am sorry mein fräulein, but I am in no way shape nor form, capable of performing this task, my apologies."

B-But...! She inwardly complained as her eyes slowly drifted back towards the injured man. She knew that Oz didn't have the ability to carry him, but for her to carry this man! She's never done such a thing before!

She grumbled at what she was about to do next, "My actions today shall not go unawarded then, I demand you compensate me at a later date, when you can do so of course." She told the unconscious man as she put him on her back and with some help from Oz, she, the Prinzessin der Verurteilung was giving someone a 'piggyback' for the first time in this life of hers.

She was both ashamed and deeply embarrassed and with a glare towards the only witness for today's events, she sent him a silent message and promise.

He immediately gave a quick nod in fear of his safety and thus they continued to trek through the forest in search of the exit they were looking for. Fortunately the unnervingly quiet forest remained quiet and they now found themselves on the road to the city of Mondstadt. Now, it was time to return to her servants, and also collect her salary.

She metaphorically swatted away those thoughts and traveled at a much more quicker pace than before following after Oz. Thankfully her familiar had spotted nothing that could of impeded them and they were already rapidly approaching Mondstadt's gate at their current pace.

Soon they were but a few steps away from passing through the gate which guarded the main entrance into Mondstadt and her eye caught the gazes of two sentries who were currently stationed here. She knew of the Knights of Favonius but she didn't know them personally, at least the two who were currently looking at her, they were merely... acquaintances who were performing their duty.

They allowed her to pass without trouble or interruption though their gaze lingered on the unconscious man she was carrying for a while longer. She ignored the many gazes directed at her and her eyes had instead focused on a building, or more specifically a person, the Adventurers' Guild receptionist, Katheryne.

"Miss Fischl, you returned earlier than expected." Just like Fischl, Katheryne had also spotted Fischl though it wasn't hard because of various factors like the Night Raven flapping its wings beside her, or an outfit design that was completely different from everyone else's, or perhaps it was because she was carrying a visible injured person.

Though she may have been carrying an injured person and his blood may or may not have begun to stain her clothes, she had an appearance to uphold, "Katheryne, vassal of the immernachtreich, we have much to talk about later."

"This is regarding your paycheck, correct? Do not worry, the matter will be settled when you finish with your current task." She eyed the person on Fischl's back not so subtly.

A smile graced the Prinzessin der Verurteilung's face at her words as she faced the door and the entrance to the building which belonged to the Adventuers' Guild. Though the building was much smaller than one might of expected, it served its purpose and it served them quite well. One of said purposes would be to temporarily house adventurers.

One of the said members was Bennett, who was currently inside the building and sitting at one of the many tables at the adventurers guild by himself as usual which he had long since gotten use to. He was, after all, the unluckiest adventurer there is.

Today was the same as always for him, he'd go to the adventurers guild, pick one of the many quests, and then try to complete that quest. Though instead of actually going out on a quest as usual, he had instead took the time he had to spare to just relax. He'd woken up early today due to an unfortunate event which was his bed caving in with him still sleeping on it and to make matters worse, the bed which broke with him on top of it had also somehow managed the break the floor with the both him and the bed on top.

The amount of mora he had to spend to have it repaired was already going to deprive him of his earnings soon enough! This was already the seventh time and his luck never felt worser than before!

What better way to get rid of your problems than to drink them away, he let out a deep sigh as he slammed the drink he had on the table, which was water. He never was an alcohol type of person, for one he wasn't exactly old enough yet and it frankly tasted bad when he decided to have a little sip of the beverage almost every adult indulged in.

The doors slammed open and he jumped in his seat like many others. Her appearance drew the shock and annoyance of many towards her, after all, she wasn't suppose to be in Mondstadt as of the moment. And the fact that she also slammed the doors open causing the sound to reverberate through the building.

"F-Fishcl!" He shouted in shock as he knocked over the water he had just placed down, all of its content spilling all over his pants. Great. He silently lamented in his thoughts though his attention soon drifted back towards the person she was carrying, his eyes widened, "What happened to him?" He asked quickly as he looked at the number of bandages that covered the person Fischl was carrying.

Oz answered Bennet's question for him instead, "I'm afraid we both do not know the answer, during our trek here to the Adventurers Guild we found him injured nearby the road in this state."

Bennet let out a sigh, with the injured mans current state it wasn't too hard to realize that he was in sort of fight earlier and he knew all too well what the world of Teyvat had to offer from slimes of every element, to Hilichurls with basic swords and shields, Samachurls that used visions, and Mitachurls which were massive and packed a punch, literally. The list of dangerous things could go on and on but he even after encountering many of the dangerous things on said list he still couldn't quite tell what had caused him the injuries.

With no clue on how the stranger could have been left in that state, he asked the next thing on his mind, "But... what do we do with him...?" Bennett asked mostly to himself, pondering over what they should do in order to help the injured person and during his pondering a thought came to mind, Mondstadts resident Deaconess, "Maybe... we could bring him to Barbara? Not many people in the Adventurers Guild can actually heal his wounds. And, uh... do you need help carrying him?" Fischl's response was to silently nod.

The reason for Fischl's silence was due to her thoughts being preoccupied about this person, Barbara. They all knew the name of the Deaconess and Idol, who wouldn't? She would go out of her way to help the people of Mondstadt on a daily basis, her ability in healing was nothing to scoff at, and she was the younger sister of none other than the current acting grand master, Jean.

Just as quickly as Fischl and Oz entered the building, they had also left just as quickly with another person in tow.

It didn't take them too long to ascend the steps that led to the cathedral either and almost all of the people that they have passed even openly stared at them or the more specifically the person they were carrying. Some of the Knights of Favonius were even going to stop them but were dissuaded once they realized were they were heading.

Soon enough they came upon the giant doors of the cathedral and currently guarding that door was one of the Knights of Favonius, "Is he alright?" Though instead of guarding the entrance to prevent anyone from coming in, he was instead tasked with guarding the cathedral to make sure no one with any ill intentions came in and to overall keep an eye on the people who enter.

"Fret not, he is in good condition, we only intend to bring him to see Barbara so she could hasten his recovery." Oz was the one to reply back and though he may have told him a half truth and half lie, it was done with no ill intention, other than to bring the injured man to Barbara quicker of course.

"Then don't waste anymore time with me then, I know Barbara will take good care of him." The man said before he continued to stand guard.

Barbara was attending to her duties as usual within the cathedral and said duties could vary from attending a choir, to tending to someone's wounds, and just taking care of the cathedral, don't forget about live performances too. Though as young as she was, she enjoyed being the deaconess of the cathedral and putting a smile on everyone's face, she was after all an idol too.

As of the moment she was humming a tone for her latest song, that is until the doors of the cathedral unexpectedly slammed opened, "Kyaa!" She jumped in surprise from sudden and loud action.

"F-Fischl! You can't keep slamming the doors open!" One of the likely perpetrators associate was a young man who possessed pale-ash grey hair, light tan skin, and light green eyes. What the young man currently wore was a pair of goggles on his head, cuffed navy shorts, a sleeveless cream-colored jacket with blue and gold details on the jacket, finishing the look he wore a leather belt and gloves along with a yellow bandanna tied around his right arm.

What caught her attention the most though was the prominent scar on his left shoulder and it seemed to be an old one, Barbara's heart went out for the young man though he didn't seem the lest bit bothered by the scar since it was proudly displayed for everyone to see.

The person who slammed the door open was Fischl if the young man was talking too her, from the very few times they would actually see each other, Fischl seemed to be wearing the same outfit she last saw her in... who knows how long.

During the times they would rarely see each other, it was nothing more than the two of them simply passing by one another, they merely knew each other from their own reputations or whenever they would pass each other in Mondstadt when Fischl wasn't doing any tasks for the Adventurers Guild.

She also noticed the raven that always traveled by her side and if she was correct this would be Oz, Fischl's Night Raven familiar.

The last person though was when she began to widen her eyes, injuries were practically everywhere on his body and the clothes he wore were ripped beyond recognition. The blood that once soaked his shirt had long since dried up and the bandages that covered him were already soaking red.

She immediately ran up to the four in worry for the other injured young man who had auburn hair, "What happened to him?" She almost shouted in worry and though she may have heal wounds you would typically see in any sort of battle, this had to be by far the worse wounds she had seen. And he was still wearing bandages!

"Ah, the Diakonin der Kathedrale, it was only by fate that me and my familiar have stumbled across the the ill fated man upon Die straßenseite richtung mondstadt." She finished proudly for an unknown reason only serving to confuse Barbara and even Bennett more.

"What mein fräulein means to say is that we came across this fellow on the side of the road in his current state when we were traveling to Mondstadt, we took the liberty upon ourselves to at least bandage his wounds for the time being." Oz translated what Fischl said for the both Bennett and Barbara to understand.

"You can leave it to me, but we don't have any rooms here in the cathedral once I finish healing him." As much as Barbara wanted to just heal him right here and right now, it just wasn't as simple as just healing him, well, it was mostly was.

"I think the Adventurers Guild has some extra rooms to spare! We could use those rooms." Bennett suggest to Barbara and she beamed.

"It'll be perfect!"

Without anymore words to spare Fischl, Oz, and Bennett left the cathedral just as quickly as they entered along with a new addition and that addition being Barbara. Another short journey yet again began to the Adventurers' Guild to begin his healing in suitable environment as soon as possible.

Once they arrived the place was relatively empty at this time of day, most of the adventurers were out on commissions and the ones that were in the building witnessed the scene held and some of them held expressions of concern, confusion, or ignored them for the most part. The adventurers gazes didn't deter them from moving any faster though and Bennett took the role upon himself to temporarily rent a room. After all, though this building was where adventurers mainly got their commissions, it didn't mean that the Adventurers' Guild didn't have rooms that the adventurer could pay for. They needed to make money somehow after all.

The door to the room Bennett had rented with his own money was quickly opened and Fischl and Barbara had quickly, yet gently as they can, set the unknown man on the bed. The bandages that Fischl had applied earlier on when she first found him were slowly yet surely beginning to become drenched in blood and the sheets that he laid on would face the same fate.

Without any words Barbara began the not so long process, her hand softly touching the mans chest as she appeared to be in deep concentration. Both Fischl and Oz watched on as it was admittedly their first time seeing the one and only Barbara heal someone, it was expected since they themselves were very capable and were highly unlikely to have any grievous injuries.

Bennett was currently no where to be seen in the room and was unable to witness Barbara's healing since he had quickly rented any available room and unfortunately for someone like him with his awful luck, all of the rooms were in use and they were all the cheapest things nes so the only ones available were the expensive ones. He barely had enough for the room because of how much his bad luck was managing to affect him and his mora, and now he needed to gain more mora unless he wanted to be practically homeless.

Though the room was expensive, it was worth every single mora as everything was spotless and not a single defect could be seen, all of the furniture in the room was as expensive as they could be and Fischl, for once, wondered if they were still in the Adventurers' Guild because of how expensive everything was in the room. Fischl could only quietly apologize to Bennett for the sacrifice he had to make.

"Let the show begin." Barbara muttered quietly as if they were words of activation and if they were then it most certainly worked. A ring of water appeared immediately afterwards and there were even musical notes that were a part of the ring of water.

In front of Fischl and Oz's very eyes the wounds started to heal as if they were mending themselves. It was a sight to behold and it cemented the fact that she was a deaconess. All seemed well, the process was going smoothly and all that they need to do now was wait while the man rested, that is until something unexpected happened, a sight that may very well be entrench into their very minds.

It was barely noticeable at first, a small gleam of steel covered in blood, but what was once unnoticeable soon became easily visible as the impossible happened, swords sprouted from his body ripping and tearing at what little remains were left of the injured mans clothes. It was enough to wake the man up, his eyes suddenly opened revealing golden brown orbs and he seemed to scan the room in a daze.

If the look on his face meant anything that he could barely comprehend what was happening as he grunted in pain from the swords. He was barely conscious and was at the brink of passing out but before he lost consciousness his eyes managed to briefly lock onto Barbara's before he lost consciousness.

The first feeling that greeted him was the feeling of soreness. His entire body was sore to the point that he almost refused to move any of his limbs but in the end he opened his eyes and was greeted with a lavish room fit for a person of high class. He moved his arms though they felt heavily restricted and saw the sight of his heavily bandaged arm with stains of blood here and there though they appeared dried.

He looked down from where he was laying and the same could be said for practically every spot on his body, he was covered in bandages, the source of his restricted movement. He grimaced as he felt a sharp pain in his head as he gripped a single hand on his head and winced in the process.

The headache was soon gone and in the corner of his eyes he could see a bucket of used bandages all dried with blood and a torn and bloodied shirt that looked familiar. It was his long sleeved baseball jersey T-shirt which he would practically always wear outside of school and at home. He let out a low sigh, its use was coming to an end eventually, it could only take so much punishment after all.

He immediately tensed up, his shoulders going stiff and his eyes momentarily widen. He quickly looked around the room much more alerted and on guard for any signs of a person and there was none to be seen or heard. His heart was involuntarily racing as he recalled the events of the Holy Grail War and it was all because of the shirt that was covered in dry blood and in no condition to wear, it was the shirt he had worn through out the entire war after all.

No, this... this isn't possible. The Holy Grail War is over, isn't it? He gripped his head in pain again, his memories were a muddled mess and everything seemed out of place. Everything was out of order and some even seemed fragmented, determining what order they went in was already beginning to look like an unlikely task.

He shook his head to get rid of such thoughts and focused on the situation at hand, where was he? Everything here was unfamiliar to him, the walls, the decor, the buildings outside, and even the photo of a landscape was unknown to him. Everything seemed so foreign.

The click of a doorknob and the sound of the door opening immediately drew his attention and he saw a girl with a blue and white cap resembling that of a nurses though it had a gold cross in the front of the cap, ash blonde hair done in twintails that reached her shoulders, and blue eyes. The clothes that she wore was a white frock opened at her shoulders with blue frills and gold lining, white tights, black flats with block heels with blue cuffs attached above her ankles.

Out of everything he expected to happen, what he didn't expect was for a girl to walk in with new bandages to most likely replace the old ones and a new pair of clothes to replace his torn clothing. She openly stared at him with wide eyes though he couldn't help but feel like he'd seen her somewhere before.

That's when everything seemed to click in place, he recalled a similar looking room and a similar looking person as he woke up last time though he could barely see at all and mix in the fact that he was in agony, well, he wasn't worried about where he was at the time but instead the amount of pain he was in.

When he finished recalling what had happened, another image immediately coursed through his mind and with that image pain, even through out the pain he could still see it clearly, a pair of yellow eyes with cross-shaped pupils.

"Kyaaa!" What the girl once held was soon dropped on the floor and she immediately fell backwards and landed on her rear, she stared at him with eyes full of fear and he could already hear footsteps coming from outside the door drawing nearer and nearer.

He looked at his hand and saw that he held Kanshou as if he had already swung the blade, and he did swing the blade in his unnoticed panic. He knew the situation he was in now was bad, he was hanging and a rope at this point all because he had panicked and swung his sword. "Th-This is a misunderstanding..." He quietly muttered yet she easily heard him, still, she only backed further away and out the open door she had yet to close.

"Barbara! What has shaken you?!" Of all things he expected from the footsteps it was anything but a purple raven with the ability to speak. What he assumed to be a male raven from his masculine voice turned towards the direction that 'Barbara' was fearfully looking and saw him, wielding a sword and a torn bedsheet from his attack.

The situation was bad, beyond so, but he hoped that he could fix this situation, that he could clear up this misunderstanding.

Before he could speak the footsteps finally drew closer than ever before and he saw a blonde unique looking individual to saw the least. She looked at Barbara and at him and then back to Barbara, "How could I not have foreseen this event, Oz!"

"As you wish!" This 'Oz' raven immediately attacked him though not physically, Oz sent a spark of purple lighten at him and it hit him on his right shoulder, he now knew that the situation was beyond redeemable as the uniquely clothed girl brought a bow out of no where, if anything it looked like she had traced it, something that only he would do.

She fired an arrow but like the Oz raven, it was also made of lightning so he dodged the arrow, "Oz, be wary, he'll struck at any time!" The raven nodded as he already sent another bolt of lightning.

Shirou gripped his shoulder though fortunately it hadn't hit any of his previous wounds and he didn't want to harm anyone here which would make this already horrible scenario even worse, so instead of what she expected which was to attack, he instead did the next thing to avoid this situation. He undid the traced Kanshou and ran for the window, the action stunning the two only briefly but it was enough time to reinforce his body and jump out of the window, smashing the window in the process and causing the many people down below on the street to look at what had caused the commotion.

His body met the ground and as rolled, he immediately took off in the direction of the gate that looked like something out of the medieval period, though that wasn't important at the moment. His head was in pain he could barely run in a straight line and he would've already crashed into objects and people if he was a couples seconds late, with everything suddenly escalating he was in no condition to rational think about his actions.

Even in his current condition he still reinforced his body and he was already outside of the castle walls and soon making a break for it to anywhere as long as it was away from here. From a distance he could already begin to hear the voices of the people slowly fading away as he ran further and further until he could bear the pain no longer as he tripped and tumbled a few meters before skidding to a stop. The migraine he was experience from seeing a pair of eyes was baffling, and if he could compare it to anything then it would be mystic eyes.

All that he knew though was that whoever possessed those eyes were dangerous if his migraine was in fact caused by the pair of eyes, though he soon realized that the gaze the eyes held on him were anything but friendly, they were hostile. Before he could think any further about the strange eyes he could already feel his consciousness fading and his eyes closing.

Before he fully lost consciousness, he could only curse his luck at the situation he was now in, and the unnatural curiosity he now held.

"Mein fräulein, are you sure we should let him go?" Oz asked as he and Fischl both watched from the window as the person who they were previously taking care of running away.

"Fret not, he is of no importance, we must attend to Barbara to see if she's suffered any grievous injuries from the mortal." Oz nodded at Fischl's words as he went to check up on Barbara who was still on the floor, yet she stayed behind and continued to watch as the man ran away and his figure was barely visible with the distance he had already traveled.

From what she has seen, the weapon he wielded seemed to be from Liyue from its craftsmanship alone since not many people from Mondstadt wielded a weapon like his too often, it was predominantly white in color though it also possessed black and had a symbol she's never seen before at where the cross-guard would supposedly be. He was also fast considering how much distance he had already put between them, she had a feeling if he could keep up that pace then he would already reach Windrise.

Though one thing she knew from her time as an adventurer was that when someone was desperate it was also when they could be the most dangerous.

Either way, he escaped and at the moment some unknown bandit escaping was far less important than Barbara, the Deaconess of the cathedral.

"Mein fräulein, there are no wounds to be tended to, lady Barbara is in good condition." She nodded in response and sighed in relief, at least the man had missed his strike.

The sound of heels and the creaking floor greeted her ears, "This... This has to be some misunderstanding...!" She spoke quietly as her hands were barely noticeably fidgeting, "He... He looked scared, like he was in pain." Even after being attacked by the man she wanted to prove his innocence and from the rumors about Barbara that Fischl had heard then they currently weren't wrong.

"Lady Barbara, you must understand that he attacked you, if you are right then why hasn't the man stayed and tried to defend his innocence?" Oz argued back though he did so as calmly as usual.

"You two were attacking him without hesitation as soon as you saw him! If... If you two didn't arrive then he would've done just that, I-I know he would've!" She argued back though Oz still could not understand why she was so resolute on that belief. He spared her no more words and ceased the argument right then and there as he had instead opted to look at Fischl for their next course of action.

Like Oz, Fischl could not understand why she continued to defend the man but maybe, just maybe, Barbara was right. If so then maybe she and Oz had simply arrived at the wrong time and misjudged the situation.

She took a moment to look at her hands, they were faintly shaking. She recalled the scene from the particular incident, it was by far the most gruesome thing she's ever seen so far, and it happened right in front of her very eyes within arms reach.

She wasn't acting like herself, she knew it, she wouldn't have immediately attacked the man, yet what had she done? She attacked without any hesitation. She felt like, no, she knew that the event had shook her more than she would of liked to admit.

It was already nearing night and she already felt more fatigued than ever before and she had barely done anything energy consuming the entire day! She hadn't even planned to stay in Mondstadt for this long, she only intended for a quick visit to the Adventurers' Guild, receive her paycheck, and she would already be gone by the next morning or so. So, how many mornings had passed by now? Two? Three?

She let out a sigh, what has happened can not be undone, all she needed to do was adapt to it. She turned around to to speak to Barbara once more, but she turned around to see no one there besides Oz. "Barbara?" She called out, hoping that the duchess would respond yet there was only silence, "Oz, where has the Diakonin der Kathedrale gone to...?"

"My sincerest apologies mein Fräulein, but lady Barbara left whilst you were preoccupied." It was in his best interest that Oz had to leave out that he had no idea where she went.

She momentarily flushed, was she really that lost in her thoughts or was she just overthinking it? She shook her head, Impossible, the Prinzessin der Verurteilung does not 'overthink' for if I would my very reputation would be in peril! She even struck a few poses that the people from Inazuma called 'chuunibyou', she had no idea what it meant but all that mattered was that even the people from Inazuma recognized the greatness that was the Prinzessin Der Verurteilung!

Unbeknownst to Fischl and Oz, along the way to the gate she was already hearing rumors about the man who had jumped out of the window of the room she was in and from what she heard so far not of them were any good, especially with how the Knights of Favonius called out to him and he ran away like a mad man as some said, it wasn't helping the peoples opinion on him.

None of the rumors mattered to her though as Barbara was already long gone from the city of Mondstadt and luckily enough, none of the Knights of Favonius had questioned why, though they did tell he to be careful. Her reason for leaving was to find the auburn haired man she had ended up treating.

She herself didn't know exactly why she wanted to find him, but she did know she did it on an impulse. Maybe it was to prove to the adventurer named Fischl that he was innocent, or maybe it was because she wanted to fully treat his wounds, or perhaps she wanted to let the people of Mondstadt know that there was nothing to worry about. Either way the reason was lost to her, but it didn't stop her from following after him.

Next update: The Selfless Commander

Writing the way Fischl speaks is difficult, I can't come up with a sentence that's Fischl enough and say, "That's something Fischl would 100% say" and it disappoints me.

Anyways I was complaining about how this first chapter was literally the most uneventful chapter I ever wrote, now with the current version and updates I made, I now think it's too eventful for a first chapter.

Besides that I haven't updated in a while, a lot of things were pulling me away from writing so since it's been a while, how you feel about the latest update? Was it good or bad? If you ask me I'd say it's somewhat bad because I'm like that.
