Hello everyone!
This is a pilot episode on a new work of mine!
I highly recommend to everyone, to see Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion, which is a truly incredible anime. It would also make you understand some scenes a lot better. And I know that some people would not enjoy the handicap in my OC. but otherwise, the history would be boring and highly predictable. That's why I thought about at least making it look like something comprehensible around the plot.
I do hope you guys enjoyed it as much I enjoyed writing it! And like I say, this is a Pilot, kind of like One-Shot. So, please tell me what you think!
Now, the next update will be Harriet Potter: The Demon Empress! Stay tuned for more!
(Regarding, From Thedas to Westeros, and Wizarding World Overlord. The reason I put them in a low priority quo was because I really don't know where I am going with the history. So, I want to take time to sit and think carefully about the plot! And it would help me just to wait and work on other stuff just to clear my mind and help me improve in the works. Like I say before. I already have many chapters written in my most popular works. In Harriet Potter: The Demon Empress, I am already 4 chapters ahead. The same in Overlord: The Demon Empress. Boku No Overlord, and Harry Potter and The Demon Empress. So, it's not that I am overworked, is that I don't know where I am going with those histories. I hope all the fans of such fanfics understand.)
See you all later!
Pilot
The emptiness of the room could only reflect the desolation of the higher world. The platform seemed to be an entity of itself, as there was nothing around but a yellowish sky, reflecting a mirror of heaven. But, for some people, it was only a step closer to seeing the face of God. And there, a man stood, looking at the endless shining on perpetuating sunset. As he wondered why it felt so strange. More than ever. There was something in the air, a sense of worry and fear, but it was not from him. Never from him.
"This is the feeling of someone afraid of what could happen. Afraid of something... but what could it be? What would they be afraid of?"
The man with ludicrous hair showed no affection on his voice or face. He only stood there, watching, and waiting for what could it be, a brilliant answer to come. A revelation of sorts. But what came was only a soft voice of a child behind him, and next to him. A woman of great beauty carrying a baby girl in her arms.
"Charles, this is it," the woman said.
"Marianne, sorry for calling you like this. But this is rather important."
"This is not the first time we bring her here."
"I know, but... we must know."
Charles Zi Britannia, the 98th emperor of the Holy Britannian Empire, and currently mastermind of the world, said as he slowly approached his wife. One of his many wives. Yet, she was different. Unique, he would even say. Marianne wasn't like the rest of the women in his life. She understood the bigger picture; she supported him. And thought of him as a great man. Not something many would have said to him.
"I understand, Charles. But, what do you think this means?" Marianne asked, worried about what lay ahead of her. As she held her child close to her.
"I don't know, but we will find out soon enough."
The emperor said while staring at his child. The baby girl, borne not too long ago, who shared no resemblance with him, or her mother. Well, not too much. The baby girl was beautiful to look at. There was no denying it. Charles had many children. They bore some great genes and had an incredible future lay before them. He was, after all, not a man who would waste his seed on worthless people. Yet, this particular child was unique to the rest. Charles's daughter had white hair. It wasn't silver or just a gray shade. But snow-white. And then, the eyes were golden. It was not the type of gold he would see in coins or in his bed. But the sky.
They were two suns looking right at him, with such an intense glare that even he was uneasy about.
"Those eyes are looking at me... no. They are glaring at me."
Charles said as he kept on staring at the child. "This child is an anomaly to this world."
Charles noticed the sudden change of face of the baby girl as if such a term offended it. And at normal times, he would be amused by it. Yet, it was not the time.
"You should kill that child, Charles. The baby is not normal. You see it, don't you? Those eyes aren't the eyes of a human... of a mortal."
The child said, earning a glare from Marianne, who held the baby closer to her. "I know you don't seem particularly fond of me, V.V. But don't think I would allow harm to fall upon my child. If anything, my daughter could be the answer we are looking for... you understand it, Charles?" Marianne said.
Charles only remained silent.
"The Geass seemed to be afraid of her. Our code. You sense it, right? Charles, you feel it. The World of C is afraid of your daughter."
"And shouldn't we be rejoicing to hear that, brother? If they are terrified of her, it must be for something."
"Charles, maybe she would become more than we hoped for. What if she is something beyond our control?" V.V. asked.
"Then we will deal with her, but I think we could learn more about her. See more about this... strange power. It may be the anwser to our questions, the future we want."
"Or our destruction."
"Perhaps, or perhaps not."
Charles replied, while staring at his daugther. But the sky around them seemed to think for itself. The World of C wanted her out of that place. And they all noticed it.
"What is happening?" Marianne asked.
"This is different from before, Charles... they don't want her here."
V.V. only sighed as he stared at the clouds above him. The large platform seemed to shake, and all of them felt it. Charles, Marianne, and V.V. looked at how the sky changed, to become darker and gloomy. The wind shifted into one of a hurricane. Charles wondered what was happening. The World of C was a collection of human consciousness, living and dead. And linked to an outstanding balance from out of the world and within. It did not exist for normal people, but for those who could see them. A perfectly balanced universe, yet one that could feel fear. And those beyond it, the linked mind of all the universe, felt threatened by the presence in the Sword of Akasha.
An anomaly beyond their control or jurisdiction. A being who they couldn't deal with if left unchecked. And there was only one thing the World of C could do. A desperate measure. Breaking the shackles, the World of C. The consciousness of God felt down upon the baby girl.
Charles and V.V. had never felt such power in their life. But it was hard to say if it was coming from God or the girl. And they could feel it, a fear like nothing before. Screaming of lost souls, desperate shouting of pain or horror, coming from Jupiter. They were using it all on the poor girl. The sheer mythical power threw Marianne away. It was as if something pushed her away.
"Charles! The Sword of Akasha!" V.V. yelled as he could only stare as if the entire platform was getting crushed by the sheer power of God, coming down on the girl. But what truly is it? The child-like person wasn't sure. Yet, he felt it. Anger and evilness lingered around him. Not like the type he would see in the world. No. It was pure and raw. The core essence of something powerful, was an entity living with it.
Charles groaned, as he feared the worst. The Sword of Akasha seemed to try to kill the child, or perhaps it was not necessarily the Sword of Akasha, but something else.
"Charles... look."
V.V. whispered as both of them saw around them. The Sword of Akasha, and the platform, was wounded. Or as wounded a platform could be. Charles saw how the sky and the clouds were all battered, uniformed, weak. The sunlight was blooming, and the Thought Elevator seemed shrinking in pain. But both could see how the World of C was scarred, something happened and left God wounded.
"What happened?" Charles whispered, forgetting for a moment he was an emperor. He was now just a human, baffled by what took place.
"Charles!" Marianne called, as Charles turned around and saw the baby girl in the mother's arms.
"What happened?" He asked as he approached his wife.
Charles now saw how the baby girl was trucked by something and in her chest, a wound appeared. It wasn't the symbol of the Geass; it was different. An ugly wounded that seemed deep inside the girl. And for a moment, Charles thought the baby was dead. How couldn't he think that? Well, it was a wound deep in the girl's heart. No human would live after such a thing. Yet, the baby was crying, alive.
"Her hair... her eyes!" Marianne whispered, astonished, as she saw how the baby's hair changed, and so the eyes. The snowy white hair changed to a light black, and the golden eyes changed to violet. Such as her mother. And the baby cried as it has never done before. And Charles and Marianne saw how the life-threatening scar in her chest healed, almost.
"How could this be?" Charles whispered.
"Our child, something happens to our child," Marianne said agitatedly.
"Charles, the world of C, is somehow wounded. The consciousness is barely lingering. The Sword of Akasha is standing, but something took place here. And I don't know what it was."
V.V. said while approaching the girl. "Charles... brother. What happen?" He asked, feeling for the first time in decades, fear.
Charles only stared around him, feeling as if they just witnessed a battle of powerful entities. And truthfully he felt as if God failed to do whatever he wanted to do with his child. My daughter somehow defeated God, and all that was linked to it. Yet, she was wounded and lost a part of her. But what is she? What is she still alive? How could the presence of the World of C, the full might of it all, cannot kill her? Charles wondered as the baby girl was sobbing.
"I don't know, but we could accomplish Ragnarök and our plans thanks to this child."
Charles saw those violet eyes and felt disappointed that he could not see those golden ones again. Yet, he felt something. A lingering light deep down. Whatever she was, or is. It seems as if she is sleeping. Deep down her.
Charles looked at the sky one more time. And wondered if he could be someone worthy of the fear of God. Only time would tell.
10th of August 2010, the Holy Britannian Empire declared war on Japan. And the world was never the same.
The room was filled with bodyguards, as in the middle of it, an old man seemed desperate and anxious about what next move should he make in the next seconds. As the news of another terrorist attack was announced on the nearby television, the old man was completely drowned in anguish. Especially since the sound of the timer was ticking faster. He would die if he loses.
"You're out of time. From here on, I'd like it to be one move every 20 seconds."
The bodyguard said as he turned off the television. The poor man only saw the smirk coming from the noble he was facing. "Very well." The noble only replied, while cleaning his nails with no worries in the world. But then, someone opened the door.
"Hm? Has your substitute arrived?" The noble said with an arrogant smirk.
"I am saved!" The old man said. "Are things okay at school?"
The nobles peered from his comfortable couch, looking at the two students walking towards him. And truthfully, he only smiled brightly. Since before him, he stared at one beautiful girl. He was a noble who has seen beauty, but nothing could compare to the young girl before him. The girl had long, light black hair that was beautiful and free. Yet, it wasn't wild. The girl's hair softly and elegantly landed on her shoulder, meticulously comb in one braid. A long hair side braid, with a cute blue ribbon on holding it all together.
The girl's face was perfect. Nothing could be said about it. A lovely face, showing a sense of innocence and vulnerability. Yet, there was a hint of mischievousness and grace. A strange combination, but one any man or woman would find themselves lure to.
The noble lustfully stared at the body of the girl. The uniform only made it better. As he could see, a wonderful figure. A very exuberant figure he has never seen in a woman. Only in paintings. A picture-perfect hourglass figure that he and every person in the room could appreciate. And while he was disappointing, that he couldn't see the girl's skin, he could still appreciate the long black Swedish stockings. This is my lucky day. The noble thought, while licking his lips.
The girl noticed, of course, the effect of her persona. She knew how beautiful she was. And no one would see fault in her for using it to her advantage.
"What is this? A schoolgirl?" He mocked, still smiling.
"Hmph! A nobleman, huh?" The girl replied in the same mocking tone.
That hit a nerve with the noble, as he wasn't a fan of someone disrespecting him. Yet, he kept his composure, not wanting to lose the opportunity to get the girl. And of course, that was a foolish endeavor.
"I envy the young. They have so much time on their hands," the noble said, hissing at the girl. Trying to intimidate the innocent, and naïve looking girl. However, that angelic face only smiled at him. Nevertheless, since her face was so perfect and pure. The girl could hide her condescending easily enough.
"So much time for regrets. Your name, girl?" The nobleman asked.
"Lelouch Lamperouge."
The girl said, while next to her another student came, and looking at the board where the chess game was, he couldn't hide his worries. "Whoa! Whoa! You can't win this, no matter what you do, right?" He said whispering anxiously.
The girl only ignored the voice of her friend. "Rivalz, in how many minutes should we leave here in order to make our next class?" She asked.
"Um, if we really haul ass, about 20 minutes."
"In that case, I'll ask you to drive safely on the way back," she said, while only earning a baffled expression from Rivalz. "But Lelouch! Remember your medicine!"
Lelouch only glared at him, not liking to be reminded of her health problems before other people. Rivalz realized he messed up and got quiet. "I'll need 9 minutes. Only 9 minutes. Owner, about yesterday's matter... is alright?"
"Understood. We'll discuss it," the old man said with a sigh.
The nobleman stared, perplexed, at the girl. "9 minutes? You have 20 seconds per move. How do you think this will go down?" He asked with a scoff.
"It would be enough for me," the girl said while picking the king.
"Hm? You're starting with the king? Do you really want to win?" The nobleman laughed.
Lelouch only smiled gently, while hiding her anger behind her violet eyes.
"Look, there is a lot of money here... but let's make a deal. If you lose, I will not take the money. I will leave it. But you'll come with me and stay the weekend in my mansion. What do you say?" The nobleman leered at the girl, who only stared at him with a stoic face. Not showing any weakness at all.
"Alright, but if I win, you'll pay the double."
"Lelouch!" Rivalz hissed, worried for his friend.
"It's okay, Rivalz. Trust me."
"But...!"
The nobleman laughed loudly, and his face seemed to hold a lot of happiness for the moment. Lelouch only stared at him, remembering the face of the man who would lose soon.
"Deal!"
Nobles, they are all the same. Arrogant, full of themselves. Easy preys.
Lelouch smirked as she moved the king, the first move. She would put that money to good use.
"Nobility is the best!"
Rivalz exclaimed while both walked away. Lelouch only smiled, but she would not lie and say he understood it. The nobles were rather incompetent when it came down to think what they should do. And it translates into chess. Thinking ahead, preparing for the worst, understanding their weaknesses. All of it was part of the game and more. And truth be told. Lelouch wasn't really a chess master. Or at least that's what she thought of herself. Lelouch knew how to play. And was incredibly good at it. But her mind was also thinking about a different type of strategy. It was what truly makes her an excellent chess player. She was patient and felt right while doing something.
It was the history of her life. Lelouch would just know how to do something. For example, she wasn't personally an enthusiast of mathematics, but she was the best at it back at school. And well, back in her old home. Lelouch simply knew numbers of all kinds. No matter how difficult the mathematical operation was, it would simply make sense in her head. And when it came down to other things, it was almost the same feeling of just knowing. It also translates into games of strategy or just games in general. Lelouch was a monster in almost every single one. That's how she makes her money most of the time. Many tournaments, of fighting games, strategy, card games, and more. Yet, she always got bored with them.
Lelouch would often play a new game, be the best at it, win tournaments and then just drop it and move to the next one. They were all boring to her. And her mind just couldn't comprehend it. But there was something she was missing.
"I wonder when the next DMMO-RPGwill hit the store?" Lelouch whispered, trying to find the reason for her need to look for a game familiar to her.
"Did you say something?" Rivalz asked.
"Uh, no, nothing at all," Lelouch replied. "I was just agreeing with you about the nobles."
"I know, right?! Their pride ensures that they pay what they owe you. Besides, the 8 minutes, 32 seconds is a new record!" Rivalz exclaimed, making Lelouch giggle.
"He didn't have much time, either," Lelouch said. "Besides, nobility makes such tepid opponents. Their privileged lives just make them parasites." The violet-eyed girl wondered if she should add herself to the list.
"So, why not try one of the Elevens?" Rivalz asked as they walked through the door. "They're not like us, Britannians."
Lelouch said nothing to those words. She liked Rivalz; he was a good friend, but his perceptions of things annoyed her sometimes. But then again, she couldn't blame him. Not entirely. He was raised like that, just like she once was. Besides, there was also deep inside of her, feeling insulted by how they referred to the Japanese people. It was hard to explain, but she felt as if that word was referring to her, too. Why do I feel like this? She wondered.
The news reporter cut Lelouch's thoughts as she stared at the images of a burning building.
Another attack?
"Forgive the delay. It's now time for an address by His Royal Highness Prince Clovis, third prince of the Britannian Empire."
Lelouch froze as she stared at the sight of her brother, her half-brother. Conflicted feelings emerged deep inside of her. Clovis, you were always someone who loved the spotlight. But also, someone who hid beneath my bed when the thunders were loud. She thought, wondering if her connection with them died a long time ago, or if she was still holding on to the love, she once held for them.
"To my imperial subjects! And of course, to the many Elevens who cooperate with us! Do you not see? Right now, my heart is torn in half! Into a heart filled with sadness and a heart filled with rage! However, as a ruler of Area 11, I will not allow terrorism of any kind. The reason being that the battle we fight is a righteous one! A righteous battle to protect the happiness of all. Now then, everyone! Won't you join me in grieving for the eight who died in the line of duty for our justice?"
Lelouch sighed, feeling as she could only blame herself for the way Clovis acted. Both of them used to act as if they were pirates. They enjoyed going to acting school, being all dramatic, and creating their own plays, which their siblings would see. It was all very cringe now that she thought about it. Yet, it was in the past. A long time ago.
"Would he know? Does he care?" Lelouch whispered, as she then coughed really loud. It was a dry cough and a painful one. The people hearing it would think she was losing breath, and she was. Truly, but it was more than that. Lelouch felt like needles were traveling through her lungs and veins. Her heart pumped harder, and it felt almost as if it was ready to burst.
Her lungs were inflamed, and the more time went by, the more painful it became. Lelouch was used to it, yet it didn't change the fact that it hurt her a great deal. And tears of pain were showing up.
"Lelouch!" Rivalz exclaimed as he took her to the motorcycle where her bag was and helped her sit down. Lelouch took first a blue pill. A powerful painkiller. She took it and bit it, swallowing the bitter liquid. Then she pulled an inhaler. A small silver artifact that allowed her to breathe, and to relax her lungs and veins. Lelouch took three deep breaths using the inhaler.
And when she felt more capable of breathing, she took the last of medicine. It was a machine, a rather small one, that served as an injection.
"Rivalz," Lelouch whispered, knowing that her friend would turn around. So, she could unbutton her shirt. And he did, Rivals turned around while also blocking the view of anyone who was there. Lelouch quickly opened her school shirt and removed whatever was blocking her view of her chest. There, a scar appeared. An ugly scar that had the shape of a strange symbol. Lelouch had no idea how she got it. She does remember how they would tell her that it was an accident. Or that it was a birth defect.
However, Lelouch felt as if something more was hiding behind that mist she could never reach. Still, there was something she must do. Lelouch took a capsule and inserted it in, then align the tip of the machine where the syringe was directly over the scar on her chest. And exhaled. As she pushed the button, allowing the injection to reach deep into her heart. She clenched her jaw, and her body went rigid, not allowing a bit of pain to get out. And after a second or two. Her lungs and heart relaxed. The arteries deflated, and her body felt normal again.
"It was a big one, eh?" Rivalz muttered. "How long since you had to use the injection?"
"Around four days," Lelouch whispered.
Normally, taking the painkiller and the inhaler would be enough. But there were times in which the scar wanted to remain her that it was there. Just like an angry ex-lover, just showing up once in a while to remind you how miserable you are. Lelouch thought as she adjusted her shirt again. Well, perhaps it not like that, but well, what do I know?
"Well, at least you didn't die on me! Otherwise, Milly would have killed me!" Rivalz exclaimed.
"Not before Shirley," Lelouch replied with a smile. "Now, let's go back to school, before they kill us both for being late."
"Right on! Oh, you won't join the minute of silence?"
"Will you?"
"I'd be embarrassed."
"Exactly. Besides, our crying for them won't bring the dead back to life. No matter how much we tried."
"Ooh, that's dark."
Lelouch smiled sadly. "In the end, it's all just self-satisfaction. No matter how hard you may try. There's no way you can ever change the world."
The ride back to school seemed to be just another of many trips they had taken, with not much to say or to do. And Lelouch was more interested in reading what was in her hand.
"I can't believe you like those Eleven comic books," Rivalz said while driving.
"Mangas, Rivalz. Mangas, they are different from comic books," Lelouch said, rolling her eyes. As she smiled at the scene before her. Mm, I knew it! Uh! The plot thickens. Lelouch thought with a squeal as she read her manga.
"I don't see the difference, but then again, you seemed a big fan of those things. And also, how much money have you spent on those dolls you have back home?"
"They are not dolls! They are collectible figures!" Lelouch exclaimed, making Rivalz laugh. It wasn't always that she would use that tone of voice. She was always so calm and collected. Yet, sometimes Lelouch could show such a childish attitude, especially when it was about her hobby. She would defend it fervently.
"You even those different Knightmare Frames models. And many toys!" Rivals laughed hard.
"Don't laugh! They are incredibly difficult to build and very expensive!" Lelouch said, while hitting Rivalz in the head with the manga book.
"HEY! I AM DRIVING!"
"Apologize! Apologize to my babies! Respect my plastic crack!"
"Okay! Okay! They are not dolls!"
Rivalz exclaimed, as Lelouch huffed, going back to her reading. Rivalz only smiled, but after a few minutse, he stared at the beautiful girl that was his friend.
"Oi, Lelouch, I always wondered. Why do you start with the king?" Rivalz asked.
"Mm, if the king doesn't lead, how can he expect his subordinates to follow?" Lelouch replied, with the same distant tone of voice they knew her for.
"Mm, about that... do you want to run a corporation or something? You're the best at economics at school. Not even Nina can compete with you. Also, there are a lot of people wanting to, you know."
Lelouch sighed, really not knowing what she would do next. She had zero ideas of what her life would be after high-school.
"Joining a company to waste my life behind a monitor, what a boring lifestyle," Lelouch said, while wondering why she felt as if she would rather die than work in a company. It was a feeling of horrible nostalgia. Strange, since she has never worked in a company before.
"You could also marry a lord, you know?" Rivalz whispered, as he could only feel the glare from Lelouch.
"Yeah, yeah, I know... you don't fancy men."
"Thank you, Rivalz, for understanding. But truly, work in a company, or marry a lord somewhere. What a sad life awaits me."
Lelouch whispered, feeling how time was running short for her. There was not much to do, and being in exile wasn't helping things. So, she would wait and hope for a miracle to happen. And such a thing was about to. Since, out of nowhere, a giant dumper truck appeared behind them, honking loudly and trying to pass them. Lelouch squealed, afraid of the truck. And so Rivalz.
"Whoa! What the hell?!"
"Rivalz, careful!" Lelouch yelled, as the blue-haired guy was able to move faster than the truck, which seemed way too desperate to wait for them. The truck tried to steer another way but only ended up smashing itself into a large concrete wall, near a construction zone. It was a loud sound of metal hitting metal that could be heard from a long distance.
Rivalz stopped the motorcycle, as both of them stared at the scene. "Um... was that our fault?" Rivalz asked nervously.
"I don't know, maybe?" Lelouch replied nervously.
She stood up from the passenger seat and slowly walked to the edge of the highway. She could only see dust, and nothing more. Yet, for a brief moment, Lelouch saw a spark, a brilliant light from the truck.
"What is that?" She whispered.
"Hey, Lelouch, it looks like our energy line's been cut. It would take a while for me to fix it."
Lelouch ignored him, as she was staring at the scene before him. Not know what those strange lights meant, but they were so captivating. As if they were calling for her. The adrenaline in her body made her exhausted, and was having trouble breathing. But she could relax just a bit more. And clenched the inhaler in her pocket. Yet, she couldn't shake the feeling of something happening before her. It was strange. Hard to explain.
"Hey, look an accident!"
"Uh, was he drunk?"
"What an idiot!"
Lelouch looked at the people nearby, all saying different things about the misfortune of the driver. She felt disgusted by them. They were even taking pictures of the crash and laughing about it. They are part of the problem. She thought furiously. Lelouch threw her helmet and went down to help the people out.
"Hey, Lelouch! Don't go there!" Rivalz screamed by Lelouch, was resolved to not be just one of many. If she couldn't find the solution for a better future, at least she won't be part of the problem.
She exhaled deeply. Her body wasn't meant for these types of situations. Yet she refused to surrender. Slowly, Lelouch approached the truck, trying to see behind the debris. It was hard, but she could feel as if they were alright.
"Hey, are you alright? Did you need help?" Lelouch said.
Lelouch did not hear an answer, but she could see a small stair going up the truck. So, deciding to climb them, since she was already there. Lelouch used her strength to take easy steps up the truck. No one could deny that she had at least courage. She took another deep breath and wondered how could anyone do extreme physical activities. They were too hard and exhausted. I truly need better stamina. Really, this is awful. Lelouch thought, as she saw that the truck wasn't doing anything else. And she couldn't hear anything inside it.
"Hey, are you alright?" Lelouch called again, but then she listened to something.
I've found you... the one... my...
Lelouch stood still for a few seconds, wondering what was all that about. She had no time to analyze it, as the dumper truck moved. She lost balance and fell right inside the backside of the truck. Groaning at the sudden pain in her head.
"What is going on?" Lelouch whispered, as she couldn't see anything. It was dark.
"Hey! I am here!" Lelouch yelled, as the sudden bumps in the road made her lose balance one more time. "Hey! Please stop!" She screamed.
"WARNING! Surrender now, and you still have a chance to defense yourself in court!" A voice came from outside, and it was at that moment, that Lelouch realized she was in deep problems. Especially when she listened to the sound of gunshots. Really?! I am trying to do something good and now I am getting shot out?! Lelouch thought in panic.
Lelouch hid behind a big metal sphere or something. She knew it was dangerous to go outside, and unless she was bulletproof, she would need to think fast.
"What to do? What to do? It should be fine as long I don't get myself involved with whatever is happening."
Lelouch muttered, looking at her surroundings. What is this sphere? She wondered.
"Well, it doesn't matter... oh, yeah, my cellphone!" She whispered, but she got quiet when the sound of a door opening interrupted her planning. She hid behind the strange sphere and peered from the corner. Lelouch saw a girl with spiky red hair and blue eyes and felt as if she knew her from somewhere.
"Can you enter the subway via the Azabu route?" The girl with red hair said.
Kallen! Let's use it here!
"That'd mean a slaughter!" The girl exclaimed.
They must be talking about this strange sphere, maybe is a weapon? Lelouch thought, as she stared at the radio on the ground. Then she let a small squeal as she saw a Nightmare Frame. Now she was terrified. Lelouch could see how the mecha jumped down from the dumper truck and started to fight the helicopters. She knew then, it was going to be a long day.
"They are actual terrorists!" She whispered, filled with dread.
Lelouch could only sit down, wondering what she could do next. The worst part was that she felt tired. "We must be speeding along the old subway lines. It is a long way down. They're headed for a ghetto somewhere. Existing will be dangerous now." She whispered, trying to connect her phone to anything.
"Well, the only option I have is that I still have my card Id. And I could tell them what happened to me. I could also give them the terrorist communicator, and maybe they could let me free. Bah, what I got myself into?" She whispered, while hugging herself.
And there, for a while, she just closed her eyes, wondering what would happen next. But as it was her luck. The truck hit something, making it impossible to move out. And, Lelouch wondered, if it would be the right time to escape. She wasn't sure. Yet, Lelouch groaned while standing up. Truly not liking the results of her good deed. She then was surprised by the sudden opening of the truck door. And the light finally allowed a clear view of what was before her.
Lelouch slowly approached it. Yet, she wasn't sure of what would she do next.
"Maybe, if I could climb?" She whispered.
But then again, destiny smiled at her in the form of a flying kick. Lelouch was able to block it. Well, try to block it. But she was not really strong to hold her ground. She fell to the ground. Lelouch moaned in pain, as the soldier held her by the throat. Lelouch was breathing hard; she was afraid.
"Enough with the killing!" The soldier said.
"Uh?" she whispered. "What!? I'm...!"
"I can't believe you people would use poison gas!" The soldier exclaimed, and while she was afraid of pain. She was also annoyed. "Don't play dumb! You know what you're doing!"
Lelouch was scared and frustrated. She tried to kick the soldier, but the difference in strength was there, as she couldn't really push him aside. So, she did the only thing she could. Bite his hand. Or try to. The soldier groaned in pain and stood up, making her able to move.
"I am telling you that I am not a terrorist!" She yelled, while coughing hard. "And don't act so mighty. Britannia created this gas, isn't it?"
The soldier then froze as he recognized the voice and the violet eyes. "You are?"
"Don't kill people?! Tell that to Britannia!" she yelled.
"Lelouch?"
She froze as well, staring at the face of someone she never thought would see ever again. "Suzaku?"
"Yeah, it is me," Suzaku said, smiling gently at her. Yet, it was a bittersweet feeling, too.
"It's truly you... and you became a Britannian soldier?" She whispered, wondering how long it has been since the last time they saw each other. Only to meet again, like this.
"And you? Did you become a terrorist?" Suzaku asked, conflicted to which Lelouch stared at him as if he was the most idiot person in the world. "Suzaku, I can barely run five meters and you think I can become a terrorist?" She replied, as Suzaku kind of laughed nervously. "Yeah, sorry... you're are right. You don't have what it takes," he muttered, annoying Lelouch.
"It's just my luck, I was trying to do a good deed, you know? This truck crash and I thought that perhaps I could help them, and well, here I am kidnapped against my own will, by people who didn't even know I was in their truck."
Suzaku sighed, feeling more relaxed now that he knew the reason for her being there. He was happy to see her. "You always had the worst luck of all of us."
"Shut up."
"Still, I am glad you're alright, Lelouch. I am so happy to see you."
"Thank you... you too, Suzaku. I am happy to see you."
Lelouch muttered, but as she was about to ask for Suzaku's help. The sphere next to them opened up and the bright light blinded them. Lelouch gasped as Suzaku put his mask on her, so she would not breathe the poisonous gas. But nothing of sorts happened. Since instead of a mortal gas, a girl of green-haired appeared. Lelouch and Suzaku could only stare at it, wondering what was happening.
"It's not poison gas?" Suzaku whispered.
The girl then seemed to wake up, and Lelouch could only stare at the yellowish eyes. Before closing them again. Suzaku quickly stood up and grabbed her, so she won't fall. And Lelouch helped him. They dragged her out, slowly and carefully. Help the strange green-haired girl.
"What is going on? This is not poison gas, this is a girl. Or this is what Britannia considered being poison?" Lelouch muttered.
"But that's what we were told in the briefing."
"You put too much faith in them, Suzaku," Lelouch hissed. And before Suzaku could reply behind them, a light came.
"You damn monkey!" An officer hissed. "Even an honorary Britannian doesn't have the authority to do what you've done!" The officer said, while glaring at both of them. Lelouch wondered when would her luck finally start. Or when, at least, she would have a break. Yet, from what she was watching, it won't be soon enough.
"But I was told this was poison gas!" Suzaku quickly said, as he presented himself before his officer.
"You have no right to protest!" The officer replied.
We're in trouble. This is definitely not what they were expecting, or us, for that matter. Yet, I doubt it would matter. They had a mission to recover this... poison and now this poison got out. Not good. Lelouch thought anxiously.
"However, in reward for your outstanding achievement. I'll be merciful," the officer said, while giving a gun to Suzaku. "Private Kururugi, use this to execute the terrorist." The sudden order shocked Suzaku. And he was not the only one with that reaction. Lelouch froze as she heard those words. It was she expected from a Britannia soldier, but not from Suzaku, never from him.
"She's not a terrorist! She's a civilian who got caught up in this!" Suzaku protested.
"You little...!" the officer hissed. "That's an order! Didn't you swear your loyalty to Britannia?! YOUR LOYALTY IS TO THE EMPIRE!" The officer yelled. As his voice echoes the tunnel. Lelouch was still holding the green-haired girl in her arms and was frantically thinking of what could she do.
"But I can't do it. I won't shoot a civilian. Especially not her."
Suzaku said as she turned back to see Lelouch, who could only see him smiling gently.
"Then die."
The officer said as he shoots him in the back.
"SUZAKU!" Lelouch yelled, as she saw the body of her childhood friend fall to the ground. No, no! Suzaku, you can't die! Please don't die! She implored in her mind, as she stared at the soldiers, terrified of what would happen to her next. Lelouch believed herself to be brave, but there were times when a human could only handle so much stress. And she was one of them. And Lelouch shrank in fear as she saw the officer approach her with a gun in hand.
"You look like a Britannian Student, and a pretty girl. But it's just not your lucky day. After you've retaken the girl, kill the student!" The officer ordered, and Lelouch once again trembled in fear. I don't want to die! Please! I don't want to die! Lelouch sobbed, as she could only see the soldiers approaching him.
But then from the truck behind her. An explosion occurred. It was loud and devastating enough. The tunnel was filled with smoke, and fire. She didn't know where the strength came from, but Lelouch stood up and grabbed the girl and ran for her life. Hoping the explosion would distract the soldiers.
Yet, somehow, by pure miracle. Lelouch was capable of escaping the fire. And not only her but also the green-haired girl, too. Yet, her own physic only pushed her down. Her lungs, the scar on her chest, her heart. All was starting to hurt. Lelouch had to stop. She needed to take her inhaler. And while she was using it, the green-haired girl only stared at her.
"Who are you?! This is all your fault, right?" Lelouch said between sobs of sadness and pain.
"What are you?!" Lelouch yelled, but the green-haired girl did not respond. Lelouch only took a few deep breaths, as she tries to regain some sense of control. And to her surprise, she did. It was hard, but she could hold herself. Then, Lelouch stared at the girl and cleaned her tears.
"Sorry, I should have screamed at you... this isn't your fault."
Lelouch whispered while staring around her, wondering what she should do next.
"We... we need to leave this place."
Lelouch said, as she took the green-haired girl's hand and walked away. Not paying attention to those yellowish eyes looking at her from behind. She walked slowly while the sounds of artillery and gunshot echo the underground building. It was clear that Britannia was doing a huge show of force, or perhaps they were trying to create a scene for them to use later. It didn't matter, Lelouch knew how they would stop at nothing, no matter how many civilians they killed.
Slowly, Lelouch saw stairs going up from the subway tunnel to a sort of big garage. She hoped maybe it could lead to an escape of sorts. Yet, as she peered from the bottom, she saw a group of soldiers slaughtering civilians who had nothing to do with whatever they were looking for. Normal people just trying to live by. And now they were killed off, like a pest on the street. And no one would mourn their dead. This can't be happening. This can't be happening! Lelouch thought, while tears appeared once again, as she saw a small girl getting shot in the head. A girl was no older than her own sister, Nunnally.
"Well?" the officer asked, while cleaning his pistol. He sneered at the blood of the girl on his boot.
"Only Elevens here, sir. No sign of the girl," a soldier replied.
"Hm? You're sure? The map said this is the only exit from the subway."
She kept quiet, hoping they would leave them alone so they could escape. But again, Lelouch's misfortune appeared.
Ring!
The sound of her cellphone boomed in the garage, revealing her position. She cursed, as she hysterically turned it off. Yet, it was too late. One soldier grabbed her by the hair as she screamed in fear. Only to be punched in the face, almost knocking her out on the floor. Still, Lelouch was able to look up, as the many weapons pointed at her. The green-haired girl only muffed something, and try to move, but it was hard.
"Huh, you're quite the sneaky girl. But then again, I didn't expect less from a monkey and a terrorist. But this is an appropriate location to end your life, isn't it?" The officer said, with a cruel smile.
"I am not a terrorist! Please!" Lelouch yelled, trying to stand up.
"Huh, whatever. Still, you did well for a student. And if it was true, then, you did an excellent job as a Britannian! Don't worry, we will tell your family that you were kidnapped by a terrorist and killed. We will make sure to take your body to them."
Lelouch whimpered, but at the same time, she got angry. A strange sensation to feel at those moments, but there it was. A fury deep inside of her.
"You people... don't care about anything," she whispered. "So many innocent people killed... For what?!" Lelouch yelled with tears in her eyes.
The officer only scoffed and, as he was about to shoot, the green-haired girl could slip by her captors and stand before Lelouch. "Don't kill her!" she yelled, as she received the bullet meant to her. The green-haired girl fell to the ground, motionless.
"Shh, we were supposed to bring her back alive... well, it doesn't matter, we will blame the terrorist for it," the officer said with a rather annoyed tone of voice.
What is going on?! Suzaku, and now this girl! This is my end? This is how it all ends for me? With me not having done a single thing in my life?! Please forgive me, Nunnally. I am so sorry.
"Now, say goodbye, girl," the officer said and once again pointed the gun at her.
Lelouch sobbed, but then out of nowhere. The green-haired girl woke up, holding her hand and freezing time. Lelouch was thrown into some kind of dream. She couldn't be sure of what was she seeing. But for a brief moment, Lelouch saw a giant door, with many rusty chains, almost ready to fall off. And behind the door, a figure she couldn't properly see. But two golden eyes stared at her. A familiar person, but one, Lelouch couldn't recognize. What is this? Who is she? Where I am?! She thought, confused.
You don't want to die here, don't you?
A voice came to Lelouch's mind, the same voice she heard a while ago. It was the green-haired girl's voice. "What...? Who are you?" She spoke in a dream-like state.
You appear to have a reason for living. And you have something inside you. Deep down, locked away. You need to remember, for the sake of all of us.
Lelouch was lost, utterly lost. She did not know what was happening or who she was speaking to.
If you had power, you could live? I'll make a deal with you... and her. In exchange for power, and a key. You must make one wish come true. Accept this contract, and while you will live in the worlds of humans. You will finally be what was denied to you. A different providence, a different time, a different life, a different... being.
Lelouch was then attacked by visions, many images that she couldn't understand. A planet, a platform, many screams of agony, of fear. A set of golden eyes, and a sword, a strange thing trying to push the end of the line for her. A sense of danger, fear, and anger came to her. And while everything was happening. Lelouch saw the person behind the chain, talking, whispering words she couldn't hear. But, for some reason. It all made sense to her.
The power of the king will isolate you, but the power of Gods will change you. Only if you are prepared for it. But you have always been prepared for it. Don't you?
Lelouch then heard it. The Ragnarök Connection? The myth is beginning again? Is the lock broken? The voice of her father consumed her. And she could only sneer in hatred. As she found resolution in her soul.
"Very well! I accept your contract, and the key!"
She yelled, and everything went black, as only the sound of a broken chain falling down resonated time and space.
"I think she went in shock, sir," a soldier said, while looking at the girl on her knees, unmoving. The girl was looking down, and her face was hiding from the light.
"Uh? Well, what could you expect from a student? It doesn't matter, is over."
The officer pointed the gun at the girl, and with one last smirk, he shot. Yet, nothing happened. A sort of blue sphere stopped the bullet. Barely visible, but it was there. The girl just raised her hand and pointed her finger at them, suddenly a beam of light came out of her finger hitting one of the officer soldiers. The head of the soldier simply blew up, into many pieces. Such action only made him panic and started to fire his fun.
"What?!" He yelled as he kept firing until there was no bullet left in his cartridge. "What is going on?" He said confused by what was happening.
"How long...? It feels like yesterday for me... but, also decades," the girl whispered, with a different voice entirely.
"Uh? What are you saying?! Who... who are you?!" The officer asked.
"Not good enough, but I think... all things considered, this is good," the girl whispered slowly, standing up. The soldiers and the officers stared at how the girl's hair changed. Her right side was turning snowy-white, slowly devouring the rest of the hair. And soon enough, there was nothing left of the previous light dark hair.
"Hey! Girl respond now! What are you?! What did you do?!" The girl only ignored him.
The girl only ignored him, as she was moving her hands in the air. "I was... sitting there, in the throne room... then I woke up... and... a platform. A voice?" The girl whispered still moving her fingers.
"Uh? What is this?" the girl only muttered.
"The stats are blocked, and so is my inventory. And I can only use low-level spells. Interesting," the girl whispered once again, staring at her hands, calm and collected. "But I guess it was because of those things called God attacked me so desperately. Mm, well, I should feel flattered that it took an entire collective of consciousness in some kind of multiverse to kill me. Yet, they failed."
The girl with white hair whispered, as she inspected her body, like a newborn baby. She stretched her hands, and fingers, ignoring completely the soldiers staring at her. The girl was moving her fingers in the air as if she was writing something. And then she just hummed. "Mm, [The Sword of Akasha Wound Curse] Ah, I remember now. Yeah... it all makes sense now. The last one desperate attempt to kill me. A nuisance more than anything."
"Ugh, my head hurts... so many memories rushing down. I feel... thirsty."
"What are you talking?! Who are you?!" the officer said, while pointing his weapon at him. And so, the rest of the soldiers, who were freaked out by what they were watching. The girl only stared at him; with the more stoic face, he has ever seen. And then he saw. Two golden eyes, glared at him, remembering the things he did.
"Ah, you're still here... mm, I see."
The officer pointed the weapon at her, his hand was shaking there was something about the girl that unnerves him.
"Well, I have quite the many names now. But currently? Well, I like Lelouch, it sounds elegant, I guess. But I was once called... Galadriel Melkor. A shame this world doesn't know the beauty of Tolkien." The girl gave a very terrific smile, making all the soldiers shiver.
"Shot!" the officer yelled and soon; every single soldier emptied their cartridge on her. But without success. The bullets all hit that strange blue sphere.
"[Arcane Shield] A rather simply ability but one that works. Mm, I need to test things out. Yet, there is also something I would like to try out." The girl said, and suddenly her left eye pupil changed form. It looked as if it twisted into some kind of symbol. It sparkled with power, and the poor officer and soldiers there couldn't turn their eyesight away.
"The gift of a king, she said. Well, I am not a king or a queen. I am an Empress." she slowly raised her fingers and pointed them at them. "Lelouch Vi Britannia orders you to kill yourself."
Then, every single soldier stopped doing what they were doing. They just stared at her with radiant smiles. "Yes, your majesty!" They all said, pointing their guns at their heads and pulling the trigger. The blood and the dead bodies fell to the ground, as Lelouch find herself unbothered by the scene. She, in fact, enjoyed it. A sense of pride and sadism came to her while looking at the dead bodies of her enemies.
"I simply end for a rat. A shame... I would have taken my time to kill you for what you did to Suzaku," she whispered. Then, she looked at the body green-haired girl. "I thank you, girl. You did me a great service. A shame I can use my inventory, or I would have revived you, just like Suzaku."
"You gave this power... I will use it well."
I wonder if I should say my name every time; I used it? She thought, intrigued.
"[Shadow Demons]" Lelouch called, as soon, as a few lower-level ghosts, or specters, appeared. They weren't really that strong, but perhaps in the world, she was in. They could serve a purpose. "I want you to search for the body of Suzaku, which is down below the underground. Find it, and bring it to me. I could maybe do something about it."
The two ghost demons disappeared as they went looking for the body of their lady friend. Only leaving her behind, while she ponders about her next move. But then she coughed hard, harder than before. Then puked blood, the pain in her lungs, and her heart, and more came to her with vicious intent. And she couldn't do anything but fall to her knees, clutching her chest.
"Argh! There it is...! The last attempt to kill me!" Lelouch said, while quickly pointing her finger to her chest. "[Lesser Rejuvenation]" she whispered, as the soon pain started to leave her body. It was truly a better alternative than using the injections and the other things. Yet, she saw how the curse did not leave her body, and her spell only mitigate her pain.
"So, it is just as I thought. No doubt [Cure Serious Wounds] won't work on it. This is the result of a... World Item is active on me. Or well, something like that. They used a lot of their power just to cause me this. They really wanted to block any possibility of me using my abilities... well, it didn't work, too much."
Lelouch said with a rather nasty smirk on her face as she looked at her scar. The wound was open, and blood was coming out, but she felt not much pain. She could deal with it. Lelouch was, in other words, amused by it. "What is a game without challenges? But you should know. That I will have my due."
Lelouch whispered with a grin on her face as she stood up. She took a deep breath and rejoiced in the surrounding chaos. There was a lot to do.
Lelouch looked around lazily as the sudden intrusion of a Knightmare Frame brought her a smile. Holy shit, these things are amazing! I want one. She thought with excitement. The humanoid-robot seemed to stop and scanned the area until it saw her.
"What happened?! What's a Britannian Student doing here?!" the pilot called, making Lelouch sigh. I suspect this ability can only be used by looking someone in the eye. Mm, and I also think that, if I used more of my abilities, the pain will only come back again. I need to be smart. She thought as she put on an innocent smile.
"Answer me, or else I'll...!"
"Please help me! My name is... Hellen Spacer. My father is a duke, the terrorist kidnapped me. I have my student I.D. card in my breast pocket. You can confirm my identity. I ask for your protection."
The pilot, lacking a better judgment, listened to the words of a girl surrounded by dead people. And while she had a gun with her. It did not treat Lelouch, who only smiled at the pilot walking toward her. She could have just asked me to put the I.D. card out of my pocket so she could just inspect it from the Nightmare Frame. She is really dumb. Lelouch thought, with a baffled expression.
"Keep your hands up. I'll take your I.D. card," the pilot, who was a female, said.
Lelouch tilted her head at the sight of the dark-skinned woman. "Interesting choice of clothes." She whispered with a gleam in her golden eyes. And only smirked as the woman got closer enough for her to use her newly gained ability. "Stand down and hand me over your Knightmare." The woman immediately obeyed, as usual.
"Understood. Its number is XG2-IG2D4."
Lelouch beamed as she took the keys and barely could contain her excitement to pilot the humanoid-mecha. "What else, your majesty? I am at your command." The woman asked, with no emotion in her voice, something that surprised Lelouch. Is this normal? She wondered.
"Mm, I want you to forget about what happened here," Lelouch said, but then she got an idea. It was something that perhaps could serve her in the future. She wasn't sure, but then again. Lelouch wasn't someone to let an opportunity go to waste. Lelouch knew there were people who had an idea of her whereabouts. So infiltrating that group was important and dangerous. They could try to capture her, or something. She couldn't be careless, yet it was also something useful to her, in both ways. Her family believed she was dead. Or at the very least, all of her siblings. Only her father knew the truth or at least suspected that she was still alive. And was waiting for the moment for him to collect her if he thought she woke up. But she needed to also, get close to them to spy on them or maybe strike them, she doesn't know what to do yet. But how, she should do it? After all, he is a man with a shrewd mind. And not only him, but my uncle, too. Maybe they are waiting or something. My memory is all fuzzy. There is a lot I don't remember. Lelouch thought annoyed.
Lelouch's mind was a mess currently, she was on pilot-mode. Only acting by the moment. Yet, she also thought of an idea. A good plan. Maybe, if I could turn Charles's children against him? Or having them slowly realize I am alive. Mm, is a gamble. How should I work it out? I am currently alone, I have no allies or support to stand on. Lelouch cursed. I can't think straight right now. My mind is a complete mess! Urgh! This headache!
"Perhaps, planting seeds of rebellion within the empire would be a good distraction," Lelouch whispered, while looking at the woman in front of her. She decided to take a the gamble.
"[Seeds of Devotions]" She whispered, while suddenly feeling a sharp pain in her chest. It was her stubbornness that kept her on her feet. Lelouch could taste the blood in her mouth. But, she had to deal with it.
"I want you to grow feelings of loyalty to Lelouch Vi Britannia, and tried to search if she is still alive. And when you do, you'll swear undying loyalty to her."
Lelouch's words resonate with the woman. [Seeds of Devotions] Worked with low-level NPCs and neutral monsters. It was only an ability to farm experience with little difficulty. I have some other auras that would prove useful. But I don't think I can use them now. Yet, with this Geass perhaps I could do the same. And, I also need to be aware of any problems that it could cause. I can't allow them to detect the Geass. Besides, I don't know how well-connected this thing is to the C's world, and that God or whatever that is. And besides, having an agent growing loyalty to me behind ranks may prove useful in the long run. I don't know if this could mitigate anyone who could detect geass, but I doubt they could detect a Yggdrasil ability.
Lelouch knew that she wasn't the only person in the world with the Geass. She does vaguely remember, the many times she listened to the emperor and his brother talking about it. About the many Geass users. Lelouch wouldn't doubt they had agents with an ability to detect people with Geass. Or something more dangerous.
"Try to act natural," Lelouch said.
"At your will, your majesty."
The woman replied, and Lelouch could feel something strange. Her Geass suddenly started to blink. Uh? I used an Yggdrasil ability. So, why did my Geass react as if I used it? Using a Geass could feel like turning the T.V on, or pushing a button. That's why Lelouch blinked confused when the Geass reacted to her Yggdrasil ability. As if they were coordinated. Mm, this is definitely not normal.
Charles, she is an anomaly. We don't know how the Geass would work on her. The voice of V.V. echoed in her mind.
Lelouch had vague memories of the whole thing, yet she was sure that her Geass wasn't just another ability. It was different; she doesn't know if it was because of the combination of her Racial-class, or something else. She would investigate later on.
"Good, and before you go, what is your name?"
"Villeta Nu, your majesty."
"Mhm, good now go."
Lelouch smiled as the woman only nodded and left, she jumped inside the humanoid-mecha with a big grin on her face.
"Whoa! This is amazing!" Lelouch squealed happily, shifting her personality 180° again. She stared at the insides of the robot, and couldn't help but giggle a bit. It was better than any arcade she played.
"Mm, well, I do hope Knightmare Frame Assault game was telling the truth about it being a 100% realistic. Otherwise, I will make a fool of myself."
She whispered, taking control of the robot, and smiled when it clearly reacted the way she wanted it to move. "First step completed." She muttered. Lelouch took her Knightmare Frame all the way up to a building and watched the surrounding chaos. The Britannian Holy Empire truly loved their genocides. But that begs the question. What should I do now? Lelouch wondered, remembering her hatred for her homeland, or perhaps, frustration. There was a lot to think about, but now. Lelouch then felt a presence behind her. It was her shadow demon.
We didn't find him.
"What?" she gasped, hearing those words. "What do you mean?"
The body is not there, my lady. They moved it away from here. No marks of death, no marks of lifeless.
The shadow demon groaned painfully, but she wasn't bothered by it. Yet, she felt relief. "Suzaku, you are alive."
An explosion far away brought her attention, and the screams of innocent people dying left and right bothered her. Before she would cry and feel terrified about such a thing. But now, things were different. She hated Britannia, or well, she hated her dear father, and her uncle, the immortal Loli. Lelouch remembered how they treated her. How they were using her, trying to extract whatever power she held. The horrible experiments they did on her. Lelouch grew furious just to think about it. They did not understand what she was, of course. They didn't know; she remembered all of it now. And it infuriated her to no end. There was a debt to pay.
They send me there to die. Believing it would awaken whatever was inside of me. They truly wanted to power that wounded God. Well, now I am awake. And, I am very, very angry.
Lelouch gritted her teeth furiously, but then she breathed deep, feeling the ache of her scar. "Such an annoying little thing. Well, in any case, let's see how good I am in real-time strategy. And, before that, I must know what type of excuse they are using."
Lelouch pulled out her phone and dial in a number belonging to a certain orange-haired girl from school.
The explosion and carnage going on could only be intensified by the desperation emanating from a red-haired girl. She was doing anything in her power to defend the people below. To give them any possibility to run to safety. Yet, it was for naught. They were getting killed left and right, and she could do little to stop it. "Britannia, will pay for this!" she yelled furiously, as she took down another helicopter, only to be shot from behind.
"Ah! Dammit!"
She exclaimed while trying to run away, but the sound of the Glasgow battery coming to an end made her realize that her luck was running low. "Just a bit more! Please! Just a little more!" She pleaded to the ancient machine of warfare.
She took her robot away, trying to hide behind the rubble, but with the amount of battery left, it would take a miracle for her to achieve it. And, well, lucky for her. She was not as misfortunate as another girl.
"Take the west entrance!" A voice came from her radio.
"What?" the girl muttered, confused at the sudden voice.
"Use the train tracks to move over to the west entrance!" The voice came again.
"Who is this?! How do you know this code?!" she asked, confused and concerned.
"It doesn't matter who I am. But if you want to win, then trust me."
"Win?" she whispered, at the promise of victory. The red-haired girl decided to just do what she was told. It was not like there was a better idea running around. So, with a shaky sigh, she took her battered Glasgow to the train tracks, hoping her trust wasn't misguided. "Hey! What do I do now?" She asked, while noticing the two Knightmares Frames following her close by. Then, she saw the train going right to her.
"Since you trusted me, you get to win a prize. Jump onto the train! I will take care of it."
"Alright!" the girl exclaimed.
The girl saw how from a building two hooks two down one of the Knightmare Frames and soon started to shoot the other one. She couldn't just stand idle, so screaming in rage. She charged the other one, forcing the pilot to retreat.
"Thank you! I owe you one! But how did you get a Sutherland?" She asked, but then, her savior was not there anymore. "What? Where...?" she muttered.
"Hey! Kallen! What was with the radio message from before?!"
"Eh? Ohgi, you hear it, too?"
"Yeah! Yoshida group should be here soon, too."
Kallen wondered what was happening, but before she could ponder about it more, the same strange female voice came on the radio.
"You're the leader?"
"Huh? Yea," Ohgi replied, not so sure anymore.
"The cargo of the train there has my gift to you. They're tools for your victory." The voice sounded rather sultry, soft, and mellow. Yet, it had a sense of authority, that neither Ohgi nor Kallen had heard before.
"If you wish to use them and win, then follow my orders."
The group, not knowing really how to react, opened the train cargo, and gasped at the amount of ammunition, weapons, and more importantly, Knightmares Frames there. Kallen opened the rest of the cargo, and it was just like a Christmas present to all of them. "Hey, Ohgi there are more here!" She yelled as many of the group took turns to resupply and get a hold of the humanoid-machines.
"This is amazing! Let's hear what he has to say!" One of the resistance members said.
"All this? But how?" Kallen wondered.
"The woman in the Glasgow." The voice asked.
"Y-yes!" Kallen replied.
"Stay where you are. That unit's going to be used to run decoy. And change the energy filler for a new one if you need one. I'll contact you with your next instructions in ten minutes."
"Give me a break," Kallen muttered, as she did what she was told.
Far away, high in a ruined building, Lelouch was staring at the screen before her, with many stats about the surrounding units and locations of the enemy. She sighed.
"Ah, strategy, one of the most nerve-wracking aspects of a game. I wonder how did Punitto Moe deal with the stress," Lelouch whispered. "Well, this is not a game anymore. People won't just appear at a checkpoint if they die. I must be careful; I can't waste resources by being careless."
Lelouch would admit that, when it came down to 1 vs 1, she was the best. She could deal with anything. And was good at making a decision in the heat of the moment. But, when it came down to a large movement of troops or things like that, well, she had a hard time learning the true aspect of it all. It took a lot of time for her to grow the patience required to be a master of strategy games. And, while she was not at the same level as Punitto Moe, who was, in reality, a master of chess and a world champion in different strategy games. She was sure she could hold her ground in the world she was in right now. Besides, as long as she was cautious, and has information to prepare herself. Lelouch would come up at top of anyone.
A logical mind, and a clear aim. Think about each movement, and how would that aid your goal. Thank you for the many classes, Punitto Moe-Sensei. She thought, remembering the words of her old friend.
Lelouch saw the screen. "Mm, regardless, I have the upper hand now. The enemy won't know what it hit him. Well, let's play catch the bait. I wonder if that cute red-haired girl would be a good bunny?"
Down below, Kallen was getting her old war machine ready to move. Yes, she was anxious about what could happen, but for some reason. She was confident in whatever that voice was saying. I must not fail! She thought, starting the Glasgow. And left to follow the orders she was given. Ohgi sighed. While watching Kallen go, there was no time to waste. Now, they only needed to trust the mysterious person, and hope they don't get killed.
"Hey, are you sure about this? The I.F.F. S system has been stripped out of your machine. You sure this isn't an enemy trap?"
"The other side has the total advantage in this war. They don't need to set any traps!" Ohgi exclaimed from one of the Knightmare Frame. "You guys get to your assigned positions."
"P-1, can you move?" the voice from the radio interrupted whatever Ohgi was trying to say. "The fundamentals shouldn't be different from what you're used to."
Ohgi wasn't sure of what would he do, but he just picked up the radio and try to get to know more about the stranger. "Who are you? At least tell us your name." He asked.
"Sorry, but I can't do that. There could be a possibility of these signals being intercepted. For now, you would have to trust me. Anyway, if Q-1 is on schedule, enemy Sutherlands will be reaching you in 23 seconds. Around two of them. Shoot them through the wall."
"Tch, what is that person talking about?"
"Tamaki, enough. Everyone, double-check your weapons."
"Hey?! Are you serious, Ohgi?" Tamaki exclaimed.
Ohgi did not answer but just like Kallen, he felt it. Today was going to be different from before.
And what happened next would change their perspective of everything to them. As one by one, each of the orders from the strange voice ended up in success. Sutherlands would simply appear where the voice said they would, making it easy for them to just end them. The resistance could not believe it. It was utterly impossible, for it happened more than one time, yet it was happening everywhere.
Move over 100 meters from your location, P-2, and shoot the building wall.
Hide behind the dust and shoot.
Move towards P-4 and P-5, they will finish them.
Bunny, leave the trail down you. Get P-3 and P-5 with you. Up the building.
Each order came from the radio with the same calm and mellow voice. Yet, each time, the voice sounded more joyful. It was a type of voice that someone would love to hear while going to sleep. Smooth and trustworthy, with a small level of demand. It was strange.
R-2, fire anchor, and bring them down.
N-Group move forward, they will get attacked from behind by B-Group. Try to not hit each other.
The voice sounded even playful, and colorful. Not something someone would hear in a battle zone.
Ohgi couldn't believe how well everything was going. It was pitch-perfect. "This is unbelievable... someone is beating Britannian forces, in such a way." He muttered, amazed.
"Kallen, are you alright?" Ohgi called from the radio.
"Yeah, thought I wish she would stop calling me bunny."
"Well, it seems she likes you," Ohgi joked.
"Don't say weird things!"
"Bunny, your map is accurate, right?" The voice called, completely ignoring Kallen's previous words. As the red-haired girl could only feel embarrassed at how the sultry voice was calling her. It was a strange day, without a doubt.
"Yeah, the old town, but with no current landmarks. I don't know where we would end up," Kallen said.
"Don't worry, my bunny, it'll do."
Please stop calling me bunny! Call Q-1 better! Kallen groaned while she followed the rest of the resistance down the tunnels, before hitting the weak supports holding the ground together. The entire place succumbed, and all the poor Knightmare Frames with the dozen soldiers fell into the trap, laid upon them.
Lelouch sighed with contentment while staring at the screen before her. She was pleased they listened to her, and the directions she gave them. Truthfully, having the ability to know where the enemy was at any moment on the battlefield was a rather enormous advantage. Lelouch could easily pick them out separately, and then, be forced to dive in on the unknown territory. She also felt, rather, ecstatic about it. Like shivers. Perhaps it was because of how long it has been since she felt as if she was having fun. Or something to do with her racial traits. Today has been such a revelation. Waking up in a strange world as a child, at the end of Yggdrasil. Being attacked by a God's providence, losing my memories. Having to endure a mortal body, and now this. Such a long day.
Lelouch thought, feeling exhausted already. And the ache of her scar was not leaving her anytime soon.
"Mm, I must end this now. There is a lot I must think about," she whispered, while staring at the map, where the large objective was. Clovis, my dear brother. I must pay you a visit.
"This is B-Group! Confirm signs of an enemy!" Lelouch listened to the radio.
"Hm? Reinforcements? Ah, an actual battle is different, isn't it? There is no end mission," she muttered. "Status?" Lelouch asked.
"Everyone ejected, but they took out for units in no time at all! It was so fast!"
Lelouch frowned at the details of the defeat. "How many enemies?" She asked.
"Just one! One!"
Such a number did shock, Lelouch. One? Mm, this is bad.
"I think it's a new model! Never seen anything like it-ugh!"
Lelouch noticed how the transmission ended, and she could be sure that it was that strange new model. Then, another of the rebels explained to her how to bullets bounced off it. How fast the strange Knightmare Frame moved, and how they couldn't do anything against it. And of course, each one of these communications ended just like the last one. With one scream, and nothing more.
"It seems as if Britannia had an ace under the sleeve. My fault, I should have thought about it," Lelouch whispered. She thought about her options, and truthfully, facing the unknown was something she wanted to avoid. There was not enough information. Besides, although she truly did not care about the resistance members being killed off, if she wanted to use them later on. They would need to be alive for that. Well, this was an excellent exercise for me. I must not expose myself anymore. She thought.
"Everyone, do not confront the enemy. I repeat, do not confront it. Retreat, to your designated position," Lelouch told them, while preparing for her next plan.
"What about you?" the bunny girl called, making Lelouch smile.
"Don't worry, bunny, we will see each other again soon."
Lelouch cut the radio, and while she was preparing to move out. She noticed from the distance, a golden light approaching her fast. Then a white-golden Knightmare Frame appeared before her. It was like nothing she has seen before. It was beautiful.
"Oh, my, now that is a Gundam!" She exclaimed happily, realizing that her excitement got the best of her. The golden-white Knightmare Frame attacked her fast and moved even faster. She was able to block the attack, but it was clear that Lelouch's Sutherland was not a match for the next generation of Knightmare Frame. And not only that, the pilot was incredibly talented.
"Ah, this is bad," Lelouch whispered, as the golden-white robot practically dragged her to the ground.
Well, I think I will need to teleport away. Shit, [Arcane Teleport] is perhaps the highest Tier-magic I can do for now. Well, I don't know if is the only one I can use, yet, but if I use it. It will hurt me a lot. Ah, this is bad.
Lelouch thought with a grim look on her face. And while she was already complaining about dealing with the pain later, a certain bunny appeared to save her.
"Hey! I am returning the favor!" Kallen yelled, giving her enough time to escape.
Whoah, well, that girl saved me. I owe her one.
Lelouch Knightmare Frame jumped out of the building, hoping to leave as fast as she could. Yet, it seemed as if the bunny couldn't really hold that strange-looking mecha for too long. Lelouch cursed while looking back.
Ah, this is frustrating! I want one like his! It's not fair! Lelouch whined as she shot the walls just to create a harder path for the powerful and advanced mecha behind her. Could I use an ability while using a Knightmare frame? Lelouch thought, but it seemed such an experiment would need to be done at a later date. Thankfully, for her, while shooting at the walls and roofs of the surrounding buildings. A mother and her child seemed to be victims of her careless attempt to escape. And surprising her even more.
The Golden-white mecha stop the chase, just to save those two.
Mm? Prioritizing innocent lives? I guess you won the moral battle. But thanks to this, I can win my little war. Lelouch thought, while ejecting from her mecha. Brother Clovis, here I come.
Clovis La Britannia sighed deeply, utterly exhausted from what he would call a long day at work. The entire fiasco that came down on him, and the responsibility for finding that girl, was weighing a lot on him. But he thought that among all the things that could happen today. Clovis' life as a prince was not jeopardized.
Yet, he was worried about his life.
"Prince Clovis."
The prince stared at the shadows, where golden eyes were staring at him. "What?! How did you get here?!" He exclaimed in shock, noticing no one coming to rescue him.
"Don't worry about it, they won't come to save you."
"Who are you?!" Clovis yelled, afraid, clenching his chair.
"Ah, I will tell you, but before that. I would like for you to stop the forces. Too many innocent lives have been killed today. Would you kindly do it?" The soft voice brought shivers to him, and even in the dark, he could see the pistol ready to shoot him if he tried anything. Clovis gulped, knowing better than to argue with the one with a weapon.
"Alright," he said with the most collected voice he could muster. Clovis coughed and pushed the button, allowing him to communicate with all the forces around the sector. And trying to sound confident as always, he spoke.
"Attention, all forces! Ceasefire at once in the name of Clovis la Britannia, third prince and royal viceroy of area 11! I repeat, cease fire at once! You shall also cease all destruction of buildings here! All casualties, either Britannian or Eleven, shall be treated without prejudice! In the name of Clovis la Britannia, you are so ordered! I shall not allow more fighting!"
Clovis took a deep breath, wondering if his orders were sufficient for that person. And the sound of clapping only made him nervous. "Nicely done, Clovis. I am surprised about the nature of your order." The voice mocked.
"What? Should I sing to you now?" Clovis said, with a small hint of bravery.
"You? Sing? Please spare me the torture. You were always a horrible singer, Clovis. Well, then again, few of us could sing as beautiful as Euphemia."
Clovis froze at those words, as when he saw how in the dark those eyes changed color from golden to violet. And slowly, that person came into the light.
"It's been such a long time, brother Clovis."
"Lelouch?!" Clovis gasped, as he stared at his younger sister. The one he thought Eleven killed. "How?! They told us they killed you!"
"My death was greatly exaggerated."
Lelouch said, smiling, as she bowed to him. "Daughter of the late empress Marianne, and 12th in line to the throne. Lelouch vi Britannia at your service."
"Lelouch, I thought you... I thought they killed you. W-when I heard about it, I cry for days!" Clovis sobbed, and Lelouch only smiled at him, slowly hugging her older brother.
"You were always a cry baby, my dear Clovis," she purred.
"I missed you!" Clovis whimpered.
"Shh, its okay, everything will be fine."
Clovis hugged her beloved sister, the only one who he actually cared about. He couldn't believe it. She was there, alive, safe.
"Then, Nunally?"
"She is alright, don't worry about her." Lelouch smiled gently, as those violet eyes held something more than Clovis couldn't see. Those eyes weren't from a good person.
"Lelouch, then...! We should tell everyone you're alive! The emperor! Cornelia and Euphemia! They would cry for you! Cornelia would surely never leave you alone!" Clovis exclaimed. However, Lelouch only kept on smiling, softly, slowly caressing Clovis' head. He did not know; it was his last embrace.
"It seemed you have forgotten what took place a while ago. They killed my mother, don't you remember? A knight of Honor, a commoner, killed in the stairs of our home."
Clovis clenched his fist. "I know nothing about it!"
"Oh, my dear Clovis. I know that already. My mother was many things, but she was not a fool. I... still don't remember what happened. But I know this... few people actually know about her intentions. And why she died."
"What do you mean?" Clovis asked, afraid and confused.
"Mm? Oh, I don't know, just something escaping my mind. But know the answer is there. Yet, there is something I want to ask of you."
"A-anything!" Clovis said.
Lelouch smiled, and hugged her brother dearly, and Clovis thought that perhaps things would finally be like they used to be. Yet, sharp pain in his chest brought him to reality.
"Would you die for me?" Lelouch whispered, as she used [Arcane Dagger] to stab her beloved brother. Blood came out of Clovis' mouth as he stared with desperation, betrayal, and a broken heart at how his beloved sister, the only one with who he shared something special, smiled at him.
"Shh, shh, is okay, is okay. Your death will bring them to me. Shh, don't worry, Clovis, it will end soon," Lelouch whispered, caressing her brother's head, as Clovis was gasping for air, but without success.
Slowly, the fight on Clovis ended, as he fell into the chair, unmoving, lifeless.
"Rest in peace, my brother."
Lelouch softly said, while kissing the top of Clovis' head. "Goodbye."
