After taking such a long break from writing anything with length,

I've been itching to work on something longer than a Oneshot

I've also been rewatching an old anime favorite of mine

I'm going to attempt at a fic more romance focused

Hope you enjoy

The Princess's Dragon Bride

Chapter 1: Once Upon A Time

There was an audible click as she bound her way down the winding halls of the castle. She pulled her long blue hair free from the ponytail she had put it in during training. She shoved the doors of her room open without any grace and far more force than she usually did.

She kicked it closed as she rushed to put herself into the dress laid out for her. She had lost track of time again, and this time it wasn't going to be handwaved.

She tried her best to adjust the dress. She wasn't in the mood to undress completely, and so she removed her dirty tunic and slid the fancy, frilly mess over the rest of her training clothes and prayed to Naga it wasn't obvious. She didn't have time for handmaidens to fuss over her.

She placed the tiara in her hair just right, as that was the one thing she would allow herself to spend time on. Then she bolted for the main room.

She ran past the seer on her way, snatching the bouquet he offered her. Thankfully she had made it to the main room before their guests.

Her father was the picture of dignified royalty in his full armor and regalia. Her brother was at his right. He stood at full attention and almost winced as she bolted into the room.

"Late again?" he smirked.

"Can it, Mar-Mar," she said through the most polite smile she could manage.

Marth frowned as much as his royal mask would allow.

Their father chuckled behind them, his shoulders shaking only slightly. "Enough, you two."

The seer arrived in time with their guests. He made a motion to the two young ladies and the towering dragon turtle between them.

"Presenting his Majesty King Bowser of the Koopa Kingdom," the girl at his left said. She wore fire-red attire with green embroidery that complimented her rich ruby hair. She made a motion to the creature in a suit at her side. To say he was intimidating was an understatement.

The seer made a motion to her father, "presenting his Grace Exalt Chrom of Ylisse," her father stood at full attention now.

Then extended at hand to the foreign king, "a pleasure, your Majesty."

Bowser took it in his own and shook "likewise."

Her father motioned to her brother, "allow me to introduce my son, Prince Marth" her brother made a full and formal bow. He then turned to her, "and my daughter, Princess Lucina" she did her best curtsy while still holding the arrangement of blue and white roses.

"And our attendant," he made a motion to the seer. "Shulk" The blonde almost jumped at being addressed and did his best bow.

Bowser gave a menacing but good-hearted smirk. "Well, my son is off attending to the Kingdom," he made a motion to the lovely woman at his right, "this is my daughter, Corrin," at being addressed, the young woman curtsied her dark-colored dress matching her ruby eyes. However, It made a far better contrast to her milky skin and almost silver hair. She was stunning.

"And my attendant Pyra" he motioned to the girl in red. She smiled and gave a slight bow.

Her father nodded and then motioned to a hall door "come, we have much to discuss" at that, the other King gave the twins one last evaluating glance before nodding and falling her father out of the room, Pyra and Shulk at their heels.

Corrin looked at the twins and gave her best smile. "Greetings"

"Right" Marth didn't make eye contact and even turned to leave. He must have been running because he was out of the room before either of them could register his action.

Corrin looked back at her, a wounded look on her face. It pained her to see it. She would have to chew him out for being so rude to a guest later. "I swear he's usually quite civil," She looked to where he ran off to and then looked back at the other princess, "he's probably just shy."

Corrin gave her a fake smile; at that, Lucina bit her lower lip. "I don't think he's usually a prick this early. He must be getting shy around such a pretty guest."

At that, Corrin's eyes lit up, and she chuckled, "oh, thank you."

Lucina offers her arm "come, let me show you around."

Corrin linked her arm with hers. "I'll take you up on that as I'm sure to get lost in this place."
