Attachment is associated with fear and addiction and has more to do with loving yourself than loving another. Attachment is such a disease that if someone is not there, you are unhappy, and if this person is there, you are indifferent. As with our relationship with life, attachment in human relationships is unhealthy and leads to suffering. The secret to a healthy and happy relationship is not to attach, but to connect. When we can practice acceptance in our relationships, we can separate ourselves from attachment and create an environment for love to flourish.

A family car was driving down the street as the family inside was heading home from a very pleasant day. The father behind the wheel turned back to his children who were sitting in the back seats.

"Tucker, Eleanor, I hope you two had a good day today." The father would tell them. He kept his eyes on the road as he continued to drive. Tucker smiled though Eleanor seemed to be distracted as she was busy playing around with her phone.

"I did dad. It was a good time to be heading out." Tucker replied. Tucker was the older sibling of the family, eighteen years of age, standing at five foot six. He was slim with brown hair and light brown eyes. His sister to the left was Eleanor, she was a year younger than Tucker, she was five foot three with back length light brown hair and light blue eyes. She wasn't paying attention to the conversation.

"Excellent. We should be doing this again in a few month's time, what was the best part of the day?" The father would ask what his children enjoyed the most.

"The games were exciting. Too bad I didn't win anything. Hopefully I will next time." Tucker told his father what the best part of the day was.

"Food especially." Eleanor added in. Some of the stuff she couldn't get enough of.

"Good. That settles it then." The father would tell them.

"Make sure you two get yourselves cleaned up as I'm taking you both back to school tomorrow morning." The mother added in. The car continued down the road when something came from the corner. She turned to the father, and she shouted. "Watch out!" The father tried his best to swerve out of the way, but the oncoming car caught up to them. Tucker, fearing for Eleanor's life, threw himself in front of her as he used his left arm as a shield. Eleanor had her left hand up but almost instantaneously, the charging vehicle struck the car on the door where Tucker and Eleanor were sitting. Everything then went to black for them.

After that day, Tucker and Eleanor wouldn't be the same.

Six Weeks Later

Six weeks after the accident had gone by, Tucker seemed to be waiting around in the doctor's office. He winced at his left arm which the entire thing was wrapped around in a bandage that extended to the elbow. It had taken the brunt of the accident. He was fearful that his younger sister was going to end up much worse than he had expected her to be, and his quick actions had spared her life. Even if Tucker decided to be the helpful brother he was. Eleanor also received some of the damage from the accident. Tucker looked to her right to see Eleanor sitting there to herself and thinking about what to do next. Tucker looked to her left hand which had been affected by the accident. Her ring finger and pinkie had been lost as those were the only things that had to be chopped off according to him. Her left hand had also been partially limp from the accident, especially where she lost her fingers. They were sitting outside of the office where they were getting a checkup before some news was going to come by. He seemed to be down and uncertain, was this accident a result of him not winning? Not being obedient? The thought of it was running through his mind as he looked down at the left arm in its bandage. Whatever it was that struck them had definitely caused some damage. Then the door opened as the father and the doctor walked out with some news.

"Tucker? Eleanor?" The father began. The two of them lifted their heads to see what was going on. "The doctor wishes to speak to you." He began. He stepped aside as the doctor sat down to begin speaking to them.

"I see you two are doing okay." The doctor began. He adjusted his glasses before he continued to speak. "Well, me, Mr. and Mrs. Kagami had been chatting about it and we decided for the safety of the two of you. It will be okay for you two to not return to the school you two were attending." He began. Tucker froze at the notion. Not returning to the school they were attending; this doctor was mad! Tucker didn't know what to say about it as the thought raced through his head. Continue missing school? There has to be a reason behind this.

"We can't keep missing school, where do you think me, and Eleanor will go?" Tucker asked as he was speaking on his little sister's behalf. The doctor looked at them as he began speaking next.

"Well based on the notes we have gathered; it is best to send the both of you off to Yamaku Academy. It is a school that caters to students with disabilities. And for the two of you, it will be a good place to monitor your injuries while they heal. Plus, they have a twenty-four-hour nursing staff which they will tend to your every need. Plus, it is located not too far from a highly regarded general hospital. It'll give the students some much-needed independence while keeping help nearby." The doctor explained to Tucker and Eleanor about what was going to happen. Tucker decided to take the news with some skepticism, but Eleanor began to protest.

"Transfer? What about the lives we were living before? What will happen to us? I had a good club back in the old school and all of my drawings were there. I can't leave all of those behind to have the school wonder where I have gone off to. I don't know if I'll be able to last." Eleanor pleaded that she didn't want this to go through. Tucker held his sister by the left arm as the doctor attempted to calm her down.

"Calm down Eleanor, the school is looking out for your best interests. I think you and Tucker will have a good time. If you liked the school before it, I think you will like it here. Give it a shot." The father told Eleanor that they weren't going to lose anything. Possibly this new school would open a new door for them. Tucker began to think about it for a moment before he began to speak.

"Well, I'm up for it. If I'm going, Eleanor has to come too. I can't leave her alone." Tucker told his father that he wanted to care for his younger sister while moving forward in life. The father looked at Tucker before he began speaking. He was quite happy for his son.

"That's the spirit my Tucker, we'll sign the papers and get you two ready. You will have a wonderful new life coming up." The father smiled. He turned and he and the doctor left the scene. Eleanor felt a bit annoyed. Tucker went ahead and made the decision for them both. She wanted to protest but she didn't have a choice now. She looked at Tucker with the look of why did you do this? Tucker, on the other hand, was curious to see where this was going to take them.

The next morning would come as the father and mother was driving them both to the new school. Eleanor's annoyance had subsided though she was still holding a bit of a grudge against Tucker. A school for the disabled, was their doctor kidding with them? She hoped he was but that was just an excuse, but it wasn't. There was such a school, and they were going there. Tucker didn't know what to feel, he felt excitement as this was something new to him, but he was also feeling a bit of anxiety. How will these students react to him but more importantly, his left arm which was bandaged up? He tried to be positive about it, but a twitch of pain shot up his arm. It was clear that it wasn't good.

"I hope you two are excited, I bet you two are going to have a good time at your new school. We've talked to some of the staff, and we figured out what you two should learn. Me and your lovely mother will be setting up your dorms while you two fit into the school." The father would tell them to be excited for the future ahead. Eleanor didn't feel any excitement as she saw that she had been ripped away from the world she had known. She looked at her left hand as there were just three fingers instead of the usual five. The car stopped at the gates as the car doors opened. Tucker was the first to step out as Eleanor needed some encouragement. What was this world that she was heading into? Tucker went up to the door and opened it.

"Cheer up Eleanor, this can be a good beginning for the both of us. Maybe the people there will be nice just like at the old school." Tucker tried his best to be there for his little sister. He gently helped Eleanor out of the car while the father looked at him. He smiled while he began to speak to himself.

"My little man is becoming like me." The father would sniff as Eleanor was taken out of the car. The mother gave them their things before she began speaking.

"If you two need anything. Call us. We'll be setting up your dorms." The mother would tell them before they both drove away to find somewhere to park. Tucker took a moment to study the front gates while Eleanor huddled behind her brother.

"I'm scared." Eleanor admitted, being somewhere new had always unnerved her. Tucker was studying the gate; black wrought iron couldn't be too scary? Then the gates opened as they were then let into the school. Tucker took the lead while Eleanor huddled around him almost if he was her shield. The buildings were tall and seemed intimidating. Tucker turned to Eleanor before he began speaking.

"Don't be. If father says we're going to have a great time here. He means it, would our parents ever lie to us?" Tucker asked as he wanted Eleanor to enjoy her time and fit in. He turned around and continued to walk down. Eleanor didn't say anything but instead decided to use the time to think. She looked at the greenery that had surrounded her. Almost if the late spring greenery was ready to come to life and creep up on them. She clung onto Tucker while they approached the main building. Tucker opened the door and the two of them entered. A man was standing at the front desk.

"You two must be Tucker and Eleanor Kagami?" The man would ask. Eleanor stayed behind her brother as she was scared. Tucker meanwhile decided to put his foot forward.

"Yes. That's our name." Tucker began. Eleanor wondered; how did this man know about them? There were a million questions running through her head and she didn't know how to respond to them.

"Your father told me all about you two and the accident you both got into. I sense you two are here to help be taken care of?" He asked. Eleanor stood beside Tucker with some defiance. Taken care of? She thought this was a school not a care taking place.

"Yes. I wanted to see if we could move forward with our lives especially since we're not in the best shape." Tucker explained to the man. The man nodded before he stepped out.

"That's good, follow me you two." He told them. Tucker and Eleanor followed the man as they were going to get their uniforms for the day. After a couple of minutes, they stepped out. Their uniforms were similar, white shirt or blouse with either green pants or skirt and a black tie or bowtie. They looked similar despite being so different. Eleanor was looking at her new uniform while pulling a bit at the skirt.

"Will we get more of these?" Eleanor asked the man if they were getting more uniforms or was this going to be the only pair they were ever going to get. The man laughed.

"You're getting more of the uniforms as your parents had decided to buy quite a few of them. Plus, we do the laundry, so you don't need to worry about that." He explained that they weren't going to need to do any form of washing their clothes. Eleanor sighed with relief that she didn't have to wash. Tucker, meanwhile, wanted to know what the day would consist of.

"What will our day be? We don't know what our classes would be like. What time do we go in and get dismissed? If we'll get homework or not?" Tucker asked as if he was curious about their day-to-day schedule as it was still a mystery to him.

"You go in at Seven Thirty in the morning for your first class. Classes are thirty-five minutes long with five-minute breaks. There is a twenty-minute break after the third period that goes on until ten. Lunch is served at eleven twenty and it's for an hour. Classes are dismissed at one as students should have the rest of the afternoon to spend time among themselves. Plus, we have various clubs for the students to get interested in." He explained what the days were like. Tucker nodded as Eleanor knew she had no choice or say in the matter. She had to accept it. "Be sure to wake up the hour before so you can get yourselves ready for class." He also added.

"I'll remember that, thank you." Tucker told the man he was thankful for the schedule. He nodded, the man handed the schedule out to Tucker and Eleanor as he took Eleanor to meet her homeroom teacher. Tucker was now on his own and decided to look for him. After a minute of searching. Tucker bumped into what seemed to be his homeroom teacher. He was average build with gray hair and mustache. He dressed flamboyantly with a tiny pair of pink shades. He turned to see Tucker and he began to speak.

"Hey. You're my new student?" He began. He greeted him with a smile before he adjusted his glasses.

"Yeah, I am. My younger sister is also a new student who just got taken by another adult." Tucker told the man before he smiled.

"Nice to hear. I'm Shinichi Nomiya. The art teacher, your homeroom for the first period and the director of the art club." Shinichi introduced himself. Tucker looked at the man who was pretty friendly.

"Tucker Kagami." Tucker introduced himself before Shinichi roughly shook his hand.

"Nice to meet you. I guess I don't want to be running late and I want to introduce you to the rest of the class of 3-4." Shinichi told Tucker before he dragged him away. Tucker was taken by the wind before Shinichi ran off with him. Tucker began to think that Shinichi was going to rip off the only good arm he had left. He decided not to think about it. He thought the man was pretty rough.

Tucker was then plopped down in front of the door as Shinichi looked at his new student with excitement. He smiled a bit before he began speaking.

"Well, I'm going to go in and teach you, would you mind introducing yourself to the rest of the class?" Shinichi asked Tucker if he wanted to make a bit of a dedicated effort to make himself known. Tucker began to think about it as he wasn't sure about this.

"What?" Tucker asked while trying to figure out what was going on. Shinichi however knew the answer before he opened the door and dragged Tucker in.

"Let's go!" Shinichi called out with excitement. They both entered the art room. The class size for the art room was pretty small despite the room being the size of the average classroom. Shinichi turned before he began to speak to his students. "Sorry if I was running a little late, I would like to say that we have a new student in the class." Shinichi roughly pushed Tucker to the front of the room. Tucker looked at the crowd as he seemed to be nervous about introducing himself. He felt a couple beads of sweat dripping down his forehead before he began speaking.

"Hello, my name is Tucker Kagami and I just transferred here." Tucker began. He was apparently nervous about this. He didn't list what he was interested in as for hobbies. The other students seemed to yawn as they thought: This new kid was pretty lame. We don't know anything about him. One of the girls who had auburn red hair and green eyes looked at him. She tried to clap but it felt like she wasn't able to connect two and two together to make four. Shinichi kind of clapped for the crowd.

"Okay, now we have a bit to learn today so please take a seat." Shinichi told Tucker to sit down. Tucker walked over and takes a seat by the student who was trying to clap for him. There was an empty seat next to her, so he decided to take it. She looked at him as if she was curious about what he had under those bandages of his left arm. She began to speak to him.

"Hello?" She began in her manner. Her eyes slumped down as if she thought this new kid was going to be boring, but she also tried to clap for him though when Tucker was studying her, she had no arms at the elbows. The sleeves of her uniform were tied up there.

"Hello?" Tucker asked. His voice sounded a bit more on its toes almost if he was still nervous about the whole introduction to the class type of conversation. The girl next to him began to speak again.

"You must be Tucker Kagami. You told your name to the class when we started off." She began. She was talking in a strange way. "Almost if a new star is born in space and it has been formed by gas as most stars are." Tucker didn't understand what this girl was saying.

"I didn't get your name." Tucker told the girl. The girl shrugged as if she began speaking.

"It is a weird sound to get someone to introduce themselves to a stranger that bumped into us like shrews." She began. "I'm Rin Tezuka."

Katawa Shoujo- Parity

Tucker had been caught off guard with Rin's introduction. He studied Rin, she was the girl with no arms. He was a little more secure with Rin introducing herself to Tucker. He tried to think of what to say next.

"Nice to meet you then." Tucker placed his good arm out to Rin thinking she had arms, and she was going to shake on it. Instead, Rin extended her foot to Tucker, and she decided to shake on that. Shinichi looked at them almost as if they were introducing themselves.

"Now with that out of the way, we should be starting up new pieces of art this week, if you have some that need to be finished from last week, finish those now as we need to begin the week off with something new. Tucker, you'll be partnered up with Rin and Rin, you should let him work with you." Shinichi explained to them about what they were going to do. Tucker was the only classmate that wasn't going to start up any pieces of art as he was going to be working with Rin. Rin nodded before she began speaking to Tucker.

"Hey Tucker, can you get the one with the city on it? I have been working on that since Thursday." Rin asked him to get him the partially completed canvas and bring it over to her. "And some paint and water." Tucker finished bringing over the canvas when he got the new orders to go get some paints and a cup of water. Once he did that, he brought them all back over to Rin who decided to begin painting with her feet. Tucker looked on as Rin was slowly painting away with her feet. Tucker began to study the painting, sky blue colors, the brass colors of the surrounding sides and the dark bottom of the painting which Rin was painting a little streetcar in the middle to simulate a busy street on a pleasant day.

"What is the painting about exactly?" Tucker asked out of curiosity. Rin began to think about what she had called the painting before she began speaking about it.

"It's about a streetcar named Desire." Rin explained. Tucker began to think about what she meant.

"The painting? The book? Don't get me wrong I heard about the book with the same name but are you referring to that? You were pretty vague in your answer." Tucker asked Rin what she was talking about. He got the answer mixed up with a play he heard about.

"I was referring to the painting name, but I can see where you are coming from. I definitely go in there, have my fill and then leave when the thought is no longer relevant to me." Rin told Tucker about it. Tucker gave a nod about it as they continued to work. Once Rin had signed her signature onto the painting canvas, she looked at it with pride beaming off of her chest. She managed to get something done. "I don't know anything about plays but seeing a new student in here has given me some idea on what to do next."

"So, you're the type of person who latches onto thoughts and sticks with them until you begin thinking of something else?" Tucker asked Rin if this was going to be true. Rin began thinking about what he had said before she began speaking again.

"I guess so, it wasn't what I originally thought of it, but people have a hard time understanding what I am thinking about most of the time." Rin sighed as Tucker removed the canvas from the pedestal and looked for somewhere for it to dry. Once he found a good place, he set the canvas down before picking a blank one up and bringing it over to Rin. Rin watched as he finally placed the canvas down. "Hey, can you wash the paint off and get me some new ones?" Rin asked Tucker if he was willing to do that.

"Yeah sure." Tucker told Rin. He picked up the board and headed off to the sink while Rin got out a pencil and began playing around with it. Once Tucker got to the sink, he began to wash the paint off as this paint no longer had a use. He watched it all go down the drain while he looked on. After all the paint had faded away, He shuts the water off for a bit and got a paper towel and began to dry it off. He dumped the old water out before filling the cup up again. He then brought the stuff over to Rin after making a couple or so trips. Rin looked on while Tucker got the stuff for her. "Everything I've got for you. Anything else you need?" Tucker asked. Rin began to think about it for a second before she began speaking again.

"No, that's all I need. Thanks again for helping out." Rin replied. Shinichi looked at them while he smiled happily. They were managing to get along while he was sketching something himself.

"Anything else you want to talk about?" Tucker asked Rin if he had any ideas about what they wanted to speak to each other about. Rin began to think about it while trying to figure out the topic in her head. Shinichi was still sketching while looking at Tucker and Rin. He smiled to himself while they were trying to figure out a new conversation topic.

"Not really, nothing has come to my mind, I'm pretty sure I'll get a new conversation topic when we go to lunch as of later but for now, I would like to give my brain a rest." Rin told Tucker that she had no topic left to talk about. Tucker felt like Rin was being somewhat hard to get.

"Well, that was weird." Tucker told him. Then the bell rang before Rin was able to begin painting the next picture. Shinichi looked at the students who had begun to clean up.

"Class dismissed today and think about what you want to make for tomorrow." Shinichi told the class about what they were going to do for the next day. Rin got up along with Tucker as they were going to head to their next classes. Tucker decided to help Rin out.

"Thanks again." Rin told him. Tucker gave a nod before he stepped into the hallway. Rin passed by him while looking at him with a perplexed look almost as if it was a meet me at lunch time type of look. Tucker wasn't reading what Rin was trying to say visually before she walked over and handed him a note. She turned away before walking to her next class. Tucker began reading the note which said to meet her on the rooftop for lunch. Tucker decided to put the note into his pocket before heading off to class. Unaware he was going to run into someone in the hallway. He rounded the corner to see someone bump into him. She fell over.

Tucker looked down to see a pair of poplar green eyes looking up at him, was she in a PE uniform? He looked on to see that her legs were non-existent below the knee. Tucker noticed who ran into him.

"Need help, miss?" Tucker asked the girl. He helped her up as the twin-tailed girl looked at him.

"I should be good, I thought I was going to run late for class, but this killed a few seconds. I need to go." The twin-tailed girl told Tucker before she took off running again.

"Wait, I didn't get your name." Tucker called out to her. But it was too late, she had already disappeared in a blur. Tucker knew he had to walk to his next class. "She didn't even tell me her name." Tucker grumbled to himself.

He was going to be surprised to see who was going to show up at his next class.

[A/N]: Yep, I'm back at it again, making more Katawa Shoujo fanfiction. However, this one is going to be different, different girl, different route. Hisao's love interest this time around will be Lilly and this will be taking place during Lilly's route as some of the students' friends they made would be listed. Some of Rin's interests from the last fanfiction will be carried over into this one and be a contributing part to the plot.

Also, I would like to give a thank you to CplCrud who helped me get this fanfiction off the ground. I kind of wanted to take a few days to reorganize myself and figure out what to do and how this was going to work and now with this first chapter complete. I would be ready to make the next. Later.
