Severus didn't want any kids. He'd had to teach them and knew how they operated. He already had to deal with them at work, why would he want to have them in his personal life?
Harry did want kids. He always had. He wanted to raise them, and give them everything he was deprived of. He knows that Severus doesn't want kids, but when he ends up pregnant he hopes that his love will change his mind.
Harry sat with Hermione, who was there to visit her friend after a very urgent letter. Hermione and Harry sad in silence, Harry shushing his best friend every time she started to speak. Harry let out a low breath, "I'm pregnant, Hermione
Hermione gasped, her eyebrows shooting up, almost disappearing past her hairline. "I- W- Since whe- How far along?" Hermione stumbled over her question, aware that Severus would disapprove. "Three months, oh 'Mione what am I going to do?" Harry's face turned red, his eyes filling with tears. "He's going to hate me, Hermione! I can't.. can't get rid of it. I won't."
"I know, Harry. And that's good! Is it a boy or a girl?" Hermione wrapped her arm around her friend. "I'm not sure, I wan-t it to be a surprise."
"Oh that's wonderful, Harry. Me and Ron will always be here for you, okay? But you have to tell him, Harry."
"I know I just... he doesn't even say he loves me, 'Mione. It doesn't matter though, I love him. I don't want him to leave me..."
"I know," Hermione let out a shaky sigh for her fragile friend. "I know."
