AN: Hello, welcome to my AU story about the Fairly Odd Parents! This is a story I wanted to write since I am so fascinated with Cosmo and Wanda's love story about when they were younger. I thought I'd make a story about them going through high school and as well as sharing some other character's stories along the way. Since this is an AU, some aspects will be changed. Yes, this is a Cosmo x Wanda story but it will focus on other things as well and I hope I can tie everything together. Point of views will shift accordingly. With that being said, enjoy this first/introductory chapter of my story!
Truly, Madly, Deeply - Chapter 1
Wanda Fairywinkle had a horrible secret.
A secret so horrible that even she herself took a while to truly admit to it. This secret she kept from so many people that were closest to her. Of course this included her best friends, even her other teammates on the cheer squad, and her own flesh and blood. Oh if her father ever got a single word about this concealment, she can consider herself dead. Then there was her blonde twin sister, but she didn't mind keeping things from her.
Even though she cherished all of these people, her secret included the one she was the most attached to. Hell, this secret changed her entire life.
The secret was that she was truly, madly, and deeply in love. What was so awful about this? For starters there were those vivid viridescent eyes. The lush and soft hair, she's brushed carefully through with her fingers. Then of course, the cute but almost foolish grin this little secret of her's always had.
To her these aspects described the most attractive fairy in the world to her. The thing was that everyone she knows begs to differ. The day she met this special fairy, she knew that she's found true happiness as well as true love that no magic can come in between. Even before that she's known that her happiness wasn't a top priority.
Wanda was always the fairy that put others before herself by looking out for them. Her friend group always considered her as the motherly figure of the group. Not that she looked older than them, far from it actually as she was claimed as one of the most beautiful fairies in their school, but more so her gentle and caring nature. Most girls, sometimes even guys, would come crawling to her on advice or tell her she was right after blatant warnings she gave about a stupid decision they were making.
Everyone looked up to her not just because of her tenderness, but because she was a Fairywinkle. Her twin sister was Blonda Fairywinkle, also known as the most popular girl in school. With natural curls of blonde that ended about waist level, a sense of high class fashion, and a petite waist, everyone was shallow enough to believe she deserved to be the queen of school. Most fairies, mostly guys but even some daring girls too, in the school were on a quest to court her. On the scale of attractiveness, Blonda scored a solid ten in everyone's books based on her appearance that she so effortlessly pulled without a hitch.
Wanda, however, knew her true colors.
Or at least true hair color that is.
Although her sister was in fact named "Blonda" it wasn't due to her sheer platinum blonde hair everyone knows her for. No, instead it was because she was born with hair that was strawberry blonde, meaning along with her fair hair color it carried a pinkish hue, exactly like Wanda's own. No one knows that before they started high school that Wanda caught her in the bathroom at midnight dyeing those rose strands away with bleach.
"Why are you changing so much about yourself?" Wanda asked, peering from the doorway.
Blonda's glare turned to ice as she spat, "Shut up, Wanda. You don't know anything."
With that simple exchange, Wanda tried to not ask anything about her appearance again. Instead she watched as every morning her sister would powder her face in pounds of makeup, applying layers of the same cherry lip gloss.
The makeup was fine, Wanda enjoyed doing it herself. However it was lighter as she only used a bit of blush with strawberry gloss.
Things started to change drastically when her sister then started to eat less and less.
When Big Daddy was out late doing business, Wanda would happily volunteer to make dinner instead of having a personal chef coming over. She would admit she wasn't the best culinary artist nor did she claim to be, but she still enjoyed it.
Then it started to hurt when Blonda wouldn't come down to eat. She would complain that the spaghetti had way too many carbs for her to handle or she would only be sticking with water as she was trying to lose weight.
"But I think you look great just the way you are…" Wanda would say. She did truly mean it but she didn't want to meddle with her. It was difficult because she cared so much.
Blonda would only scoff. "Whatever, like you know anything about keeping a skinny figure."
That also hurt. Wanda always wasn't the skinniest of the two but because she didn't care about that. Her body was known to be a bit curvier than most and she was considered short. Her mind was never watching what she ate and she still did exercise but that was because she loved doing it.
Then again, Wanda kept quiet.
Blonda's popularity not only stemmed from her gorgeous appearance, but because they were a well off family. Money was never a problem for them growing up because of the family business.
Their father, Big Daddy, ran Fairy World's garbage disposal company called "Big Daddy's Trash Removal" along with her uncles. Along with this he also does some questionable things on the side but she rather not talk about that. Her father was a dangerous and fearsome man but she was never afraid of him.
Big Daddy treated her and Blonda like the little princesses they were to him. His standards for them were always the best of the best. They lived in a fancy home in one of the most pristine neighborhoods in Fairy World, Fairywood.
He offered for them to attend Fairywood's Private Preparatory School although it was rather pricey. However when Blonda heard it was an all girls school, she did everything she could to convince him not to send them there. Blonda just had to attend the public high school because she just couldn't endure the thought of spending more of Big Daddy's money than necessary just for a better education.
Wanda just rolls her eyes at this as she knew Blonda just wanted the attention of male fairies on her. What better place than the biggest public school in Fairy World? The school was just simply named "Fairy High" but most fairy teens went there.
After all of Blonda's complaining, Wanda was dragged to Fairy High as well and it didn't make sense for the both of them to attend different schools. Wanda didn't mind the idea of attending Fairy High rather than the preparatory school but she knew interesting fairies went there since there were so many of them.
She could recall the first week she was periodically offered some "fairy dust" but she knew better that it wasn't the good kind. She would politely decline each time as that wasn't the crowd she wanted to be associated with.
Even though she wasn't exactly the party type of fairy she still had many friends who still were. Her first year she was scouted by the cheer squad to join as they saw she had potential. Wanda was extremely flattered by this.
She tried out, did her best, and then was accepted without any hesitation.
Wanda did enjoy being a part of the cheer team because she met her best friends, Crystal and Scarlet.
Crystal had sky blue hair, about shoulder length, with sapphire eyes. With her eyes complimenting her gorgeous dark complexion, she was spunky and was probably the most outgoing of the three. Another thing was that she was most well known for wearing a headband that matched the color of her eyes.
Then Scarlet had red poofy hair with pink eyes, like Wanda. She is half elf on her mother's side so she has pointy ears. Scarlet would feel self conscious about this but Wanda found her ears something unique and beautiful about her.
She did have other friends on the cheer squad such as Sparkle, Stella, and Musa but they weren't as close to her as Crystal and Scarlet were.
She loved these friends deeply, but sometimes she found it hard to express herself around them. She loved when they were working together as a team since everyone was supportive of one another.
However things started to become a problem when they began their oh-so-wonderful gossip. Their favorite target for their trash talk was the queens of the school. Also known as Blonda's friend group.
This group included not only Blonda but fairies like the beautiful Tooth Fairy and Fairy Hart. There were so many other girls that hung around them but none of them were as well known as those three.
Wanda remembers a time after practice she was packing up her pom poms, until Stella called for everyone to stay behind because she had some juicy drama to talk about at the latest party from the weekend.
Wanda just sighed as she started to back away, "Eh… I don't know. I think I have homework to get started on?"
Musa just yanked her hand, pulling her to the rest of the group, "Oh come on, Wanda! You always have time to work on that later! Stella already told me some stuff and Juandissimo was asking about you~"
Wanda just froze when she heard that name. She wasn't going to lie and say she wasn't intrigued. Juandissimo, the new transfer student, was asking about her? All Wanda could think of was why?
With piqued interest, she was basically led to her grave.
Stella starts with, "Okay! Okay! So I am standing there with my boyfriend, Draco, at Cupid's party, you know that party of love? And just guess who has the nerve to walk in!"
Much to Wanda's dismay, Scarlet and Crystal piped, proclaiming, "Who? Who?"
Stella grins, "That bitch, Tooth Fairy, was totally trying to hit on the new transfer student! She was so like 'Ohh I would totally go home with you tonight~' and everything!"
Musa just nodded, "What a skank! Just like Blonda!"
Wanda's gaze snapped up at her. She knew Blonda could be overbearing but that was harsh. She was still her sister.
Musa's smile faded but quickly shook her head, "No offense, Wanda. I mean you're nothing like her."
Wanda just muttered, "She's still my sister…"
Stella cut in as she exclaimed, "Oh but there's more!"
Everyone turned to her once more, eyebrows raised.
"She was rejected. Juandissimo loves another!"
Crystal stood quickly, needing answers, "No way! I mean he just started at our school a few months ago, so how could already be in love with someone?"
Stella just shrugged as she flipped her blonde hair aside, "His words, not mine. Then all he said after was that he saw a beautiful girl in the hallway that caught his heart. A girl with pink and swirly hair." All she could do was give a smug grin, making eye contact with Wanda.
Shoulders immediately tensed as Wanda felt all eyes on her now. All she could say was, "He really said that?"
Stella nodded. Then something happened that Wanda thought was the strangest thing in the world. She was then shoved backwards by the sun haired fairy and turned to face purple, slender eyes.
Wanda pursed her lips as she blinked in astonishment. "W-What?"
Bundles of roses were pushed towards her, a hand taking her own. "Wanda, mi amor~! It is finally time where I, Juandissimo Magnifico, confess my true feelings! My eyes of passion have witnessed your beauty within the halls of the school. I have only been here for only a few weeks but I can't help but to be captured by your sexiness. The way your pink hair flows, the features of perfection that is your face, and not to mention your voice of an angel, has taken me in a way I cannot explain."
Wanda just stared at the muscular fairy. Her thoughts were clouded as she couldn't believe that someone was actually in love with her. That has never happened to her before. Did she love him too? She didn't know what that meant so why was this fairy who barely knows her professing his undying love to her? Was this how love happened? She didn't know, not yet at least.
"So mi amor, my love, my Wanda… will you accept everything I have?" Juandissimo asked. He was much taller than her, so him looking down at her already made her feel nervous.
Whispers of, "Wanda! Wanda" or "Say yes!" were behind her as she thought of an answer.
She felt time slipping away as she needed an answer fast. With her mind rushing, she turned back to Juandissimo. 'You'll never find love again, Wanda.' So she sighed, "Yes. Juandissimo I accept."
Juandissimo beamed and gave a satisfied grin, flashing his pearly teeth. "I knew you would say yes, my beautiful Wanda."
Of course all the girls cheered behind her as Wanda just stood with her thoughts. Did she just make the right choice? 'What the hell did I just get myself into?' With this Juandissimo took this opportunity to swoop Wanda into his arms and dip her. Before she knew what was going on, she felt his lips mashed roughly against hers.
That was her first kiss.
Throughout their relationship, their kisses didn't get any better from there. She especially didn't enjoy it when he started using his tongue. It angered her when he did it specifically when she told him not to.
That was basically the description of Wanda and Juandissimo's relationship as sad as it was. The next coming weeks when they got to know eachother better was when she realized who he really was. One thing for sure was that he was a narcissist. Every chance he got, he was admiring his reflection whether it was from a mirror, a window of a storefront on their dates, or even in a puddle on the ground. Oftentimes he would ask her numerous times if he looked attractive, or sexy, to her.
"Oh my love, don't I look sexy today?" He asked, flexing his bulging muscles through his white shirt.
Wanda just frowned, she was trying to eat her sandwich since they were at lunch, "Um, sure?"
Then it was Juandissimo's turn to frown. "'Sure?' What does that mean, my love? Am I not attractive to you anymore or something?"
As much as Wanda didn't care for one's appearance, she still didn't want to upset her 'boyfriend.' She still felt weird calling him that even though they have been dating for a few months. "Err, I mean you are still attractive… I guess?"
Juandissimo then smirked, eyes half lidded, "Oh, I see what it is! You just need to see more of me. How about we try some things when we are in your room this weekend? How does that sound, my love?"
Wanda almost choked on her sandwich at that. She coughed, staring at him in shock. After calming down, "Oh umm, I'm not sure my dad would like that."
"You're right! How could I be such a fool?" Juandissimo said, as he shook his head.
Wanda sighed in relief, smiling again.
"How could I be such a fool and not ask for his blessing first!"
Wanda's eyes widened, mouth open in awestruck.
Big Daddy was already strict on boys in general as he believed no one was good enough for his daughters. That's why Blonda always kept her flings a secret. Wanda however didn't need to worry about this as she's never had a boyfriend before Juandissimo. However she had a deep feeling this wasn't going to go very well as she knew her father would see how narcissistic he was. Plus asking for his daughter's flower was something no father would appreciate.
But to her utter shock, her father had done the complete opposite. Joy.
"So what? You sayin' you good enough for my little cannoli?" Big Daddy asked sternly. They were sitting at dinner in their dining room. They had their personal chef cooking this time so they were served ravioli and salad. Wanda just wanted the night to be over with as soon as possible, hoping her wishes could come true.
Juandissimo didn't seem at all threatened by the older fairy, as he nodded. He dramatically answered, "Yes, sir. I love Wanda with all I have! No other fairy could capture my heart as she has done with mine. Her angelic beauty is something I want to protect with my hunky biceps!" He proceeded to flex his arms as Wanda quietly cringed. "I come here tonight to ask for your blessing, as I can't pursue her without it."
Then silence filled the room as Wanda just waited for her father to kick him out. At least that is what she expected… and hoped.
Big Daddy finally spoke, putting a finger up to his lips, "Hmm, she is a beauty, ain't she?"
"Daddy…" Wanda groaned.
"But!" her father exclaimed and pointed, "you… what was youse' name again?"
"Juandissimo Magnifico!"
"Right! Juandissimo you seem capable of keeping my Wanda outta trouble and defending her from any assholes who don't deserve her attention." Big Daddy smirked, "So with that, I give you my blessing. Capiche?"
Wanda just sat in silence as Juandissimo cheered. Then he stole an undeserved kiss from her.
Ever since that blessing, Wanda started to resent this relationship even more than before. She didn't even think that was possible. Those next few months she tried her hardest to not be alone with him for too long because that was when he started to ask questions. Questions such as:
"My love, why don't we go up to your room?"
"Oh Wanda, I want to see more of you. What would you like to see first of me?"
"Even though we are in public, can we try new things here?"
The last one absolutely disgusted her. They were in the park when he said it and she was pretty sure he was serious. Juandissimo doesn't joke around about many things, especially when it came to sex. It seemed like something he craved from her but she felt the exact opposite. She wondered how long it would take until he finally gave up.
It wasn't until the end of the school year wrapping up until there were parties left and right she was forced to attend. She unfortunately had to because her and Juandissimo were seen as the star couple that everyone knew about. Hell, she was already popular because she was a Fairywinkle and a part of the cheer team but dating the hot transfer student only added fuel to that fire. Most were obsessed with their relationship as anytime she was in the hallway fairies would ask when her and Juandissimo's next date was. It didn't help when she felt more like a trophy rather than a girlfriend.
As huge as the school was, there were many fairies who weren't exactly the biggest fans of their relationship. They would whisper awful things about her like calling her a "slut who slept around" or "only dating him for sex" or "out of his league." Oh, if they only knew. This mainly came from other girls who had the hots for him and were enraged when she was picked. She didn't know if there were any male fairies, who were heartbroken because she had other things to worry about. She knew there was always talk no matter what it was. She tried hard to not let it get to her.
At parties is where most of the gossip would happen anyways which is why she tried to stay away from them. However her own sister dragged her along just because she was dating the smoking hot Juandissimo. Blonda's words, not her's.
"What do you mean you're not going?" Blonda asked, hands on her hips in Wanda's doorway. She was currently in a periwinkle robe, hair in a mess with hair rollers, and a muddy green face mask. This was the most beautiful and popular girl in school all right.
"I don't want to." Wanda said simply, sitting at her desk with her computer ignoring her sister.
"You don't want to?" She mocked, "What the hell, Wanda? You are dating the smoking hot Juandissimo! You have to be at this party! What part of that do you not understand?"
"All of it. You know how I feel about parties."
Blonda gritted her teeth in frustration, "Well Wanda, I don't understand you at all! I mean you're dating the guy every girl would kill for! And here I thought I was proud of you because you were finally getting on my level of popularity! Hell, I was even jealous of you! But now you're doing this and I just don't get why you are being like this! I know you hate parties because of drama and drunks or whatever but everyone at this one is excited because they love seeing you and Juandissimo together! You two are the hottest couple! Do you know how much that pisses me off?"
Wanda took some time to comprehend this. Her sister was jealous? Even though it was all about shallow popularity, really? But besides jealousy, she was proud? That was probably the nicest thing Blonda has admitted to in a while. A part of her knew that many people at this party were expecting her and Juandissimo to be there. She would be letting them down.
So she sighed, "Fine."
"What?"
Wanda looked up from her computer and smiled, "I'll go to the party."
Blonda smiled as well, "That's my sister."
Looking back now, going to that party was one of the worst mistakes of her life. The party was being hosted at Cupid's again as it was a big end of the year but also the start of summer party. Cupid just had the biggest mansion that could host so many fairies.
The thing was though, Cupid had a weird way of hosting parties by offering a drink that was called "Love Juice." As cheesy the name was, Wanda wasn't sure if it actually had alcohol in it or not but after anyone drinks it, they start to get flirty and stimulated. She made sure to not drink anything when in that house because that is something she does not want to deal with. When getting there with her sister and her friends, Wanda met up with Crystal and Scarlet.
Crystal was awfully giggly already which was never a good sign so Scarlet was keeping an eye on her. "Hey Wanda, you finally made it!"
Wanda just smiled, happy knowing Scarlet was keeping their friend out of trouble, "Yes, Blonda decided to drag me."
Blonda had already disappeared at that point with her friends so Wanda was free to say whatever.
"Oh come on, this party isn't so bad… yet."
Wanda just sighed, "Yeah, I'm just here because Juandissimo is. Where is he anyways?"
As much as she didn't want to see him, she still had to play the part of a caring girlfriend. After all, Blonda did convince her that most people were here because they were a couple anyways. Coming here would be all for nothing if she didn't see him.
Suddenly Scarlet got quiet as she gulped. This started to confuse Wanda until the redhead spoke, "I… I haven't seen him really."
Then bubbly Crystal started speaking in fits and giggles, "Oh… I've seen him!" She hiccuped and continued, "he was drinking the pink juice with me and Stella!"
Wanda raised a brow, "Where?"
Scarlet sighed, "Over in the back… he's acting weird though that's why I brought Crystal over here."
Wanda just rolled her eyes, go figure. She floated her way towards the back of the manor which was where the living room was. Yes, she has been in here for another party unfortunately.
'Turn back.' and 'Just go home.' were ringing in her head but she didn't quite know why just yet. In her gut she had a feeling she wasn't going to like what she's about to see in a few seconds. If she turned back now, she wouldn't have to deal with this but it was too late.
More giggles filled the room over the loud music and neon pink lights. "Ohh… Juandissimo!"
She froze.
She couldn't say she was surprised with what she was seeing with her own two eyes because this was just something that her boyfriend would do. It was only a matter of time before he had given up.
In front of her was Juandissimo with a certain blonde fairy from the cheer squad on the couch. His hands were clearly under her shirt as she sat facing him in his lap. The lips that have forced themselves upon Wanda's many times were upon another's. They pulled away as Stella moaned.
The same girl who had ragged Tooth Fairy for hitting on Juandissimo. Oh have things come full circle.
Suddenly Wanda couldn't control herself. All of sudden she didn't understand what love was and didn't know if she even felt it. The first fairy who has ever confessed their love for her, the first one that stole her first kiss was all over someone else now. So this was love now. Something that just fades away so easily. It was never true.
Then she felt tears on her cheeks. 'Why are you crying?' "And I thought you actually loved me… that's why I said yes."
Juandissimo somehow heard this, she didn't realize how loud she was as she couldn't hear a thing. He threw Stella off of him and immediately went to grab the pink haired fairy, "Wanda… it isn't what it looks like…"
Wanda finally said, now in a mess of tears, "I never loved you and I never will. I don't want to see you again."
Then she was gone before Juandissimo could say anything.
She doesn't even remember how she got home that night. She either took the long way or just simply poofed back but it didn't matter. Those next few weeks, she stayed alone and didn't speak to a soul except to her father and sister when needed. Blonda had no idea what happened and just thought Wanda was being her weird self again. Lucky for her it was summertime now so school wasn't even a worry.
A few weeks turned into a month so it was well into June. During this time she wasn't exactly sad or heartbroken. She just felt betrayed as if she couldn't feel love anymore. Love wasn't real anyways, it was just a myth for the delusional. At least that's what she decided to believe.
