I don't own Kingdom Hearts or Green Lantern. They belong to Disney, Square Enix, and DC comics. Hey, guys, I've been rewatching Green Lantern: The Animated Series and a thought occurred to me. What if Sora hadn't been Chosen by the Keyblade? What if instead he was Chosen by a Green Lantern Ring? And that lead to another thought, how would it affect the KH Universe? Who else would be a Green Lantern? How would the story follow? Well, let's see if we can answer this question together. Now then, let's start with the prologue to see what happens to Hal Jordan and our old Green Lantern Corps...

Prologue: In Blackest Night

Somewhere in the multiverse, vast realities could be seen throughout the Multiverse. Realities such as the Scarlet Witch discovering a certain young spikey hair child on an island far away from her home, "Time."

Realities where Sora was a founding member of Earth's Mightiest Heroes: The Avengers, or another where he was a founding member of the World's Greatest Heroes: The Justice League, "Space."

Sora, Riku, Kairi, and many other Keybladers from other worlds fighting against swarms of Heartless and Stormtroopers on Disney Castle, "Reality."

Sora being discovered by the mutant leader of the X-Men: Charles Xavier leading him to become an X-Man, "It's more than a linear path. It's a prism of endless possibility, where a single choice can branch out into infinite realities, creating alternate worlds from the one you know."

Various more realities could be seen before revealing the one who watches all transpires in the Multiverse, "I am the Watcher. I am your guide through these vast new realities. Follow me and ponder the question, 'What If...?'"

"Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern of Sector 2814, member of the Justice League, and hero who stopped the treats of the Red Lantern Corps, the Sinistro Corps, the Manhunters, and Anti-Monitor, flew alongside his fellow Green Lanterns to what could be their last fight. The last war of their multiverse..."

Years had passed since then and Hal with greys in his hair flew alongside Green Lanterns' Kilowog and Salaak on a straight course back to Earth. "At this point in time, Kingdom Hearts had been discovered along with its counterpart the χ-blade. New weapons of light were forged based on the latter the Keyblades. At first, everyone loved the light and used these Keyblades to defend it but everyone wanted the light with Kingdom Hearts for themselves and a great Keyblade War raged throughout the universe. "

"They were the last line of defense against the darkness," The Watcher declared with sadness in his eyes.

Kilowog turned to the first Green Lantern of Earth, "Okay, Jordan. What's the status of Earth?"

"I just spoke with John," The test pilot answered, "It's bad. Members of the League have already perished. Diana, Bruce, and even Clark were the first on the scene and they were whipped out in an instant." He closed his eyes, "Ollie, Barry, and Dinah didn't last long either."

"Man, I'm sorry... they were good people but... but we can still stop this war from getting worse. The Guardians are already on the scene and we gathered any lantern from every Corps we could find to stop this." The alien veteran told his old friend, "But..."

"I know..." Hal frowned before his eyes narrowed with determination, "I need my head in the game."

Salaak eyes widened in horror, "Wait, what's that?!"

Much to their horror, many lantern rings flew past them as they could hear the rings declare, "Rings Status Report. Green Lantern 885 Deceased. Returning to Oa." Other rings could be heard, "Green Lantern 3544 Deceased. Returning to Oa."

"Green Lantern 34 Deceased. Returning to Oa."

"Green Lantern 1014 Deceased. Returning to Oa."

Kilowog gasped at that number, "Ch'p..."

The three Green Lantern's eyes widened as the next few Lantern rings flew past them, "Green Lantern 2814 Deceased. Returning to Oa."

"Green Lantern 2814 Deceased. Returning to Oa."

"Green Lantern 2814 Deceased. Returning to Oa."

"Green Lantern 2814 Deceased. Returning to Oa."

Hal gasped at the last few Lanterns from Earth, "John. Guy. Kyle. Jessica..."

"I don't get it," Kilowog asked, "Shouldn't these rings be finding replacements."

Usually, when a Green Lantern dies being in combat or otherwise, the ring would either find a new candidate to be the next Green Lantern of their sector or return to Oa. However, these rings weren't even bothering finding replacements, they were heading straight back to Oa. Just then, Saalak noticed something in the distance, "I think I already know why..."

The three Green Lanterns along with the other corps on their way to Earth stopped in shock as one by one the stars were going out at a freakishly fast rate. Kilowog's eyes widened, "The stars... they're going out! Why?!"

"Because we're already too late." Salaak frowned. The darkness loomed fasted consuming everything in sight. Each Lantern of their respective corp tried fighting back but each of them too were consumed by the darkness. The rings went off to the homes of their respective worlds before they too were consumed by the darkness.

The three Green Lanterns' eyes widened in horror as the darkness consumed everything. Even many of the rings remained where they were as their worlds were destroyed as well before being consumed by the darkness. Hal watched helplessly as the darkness consumed everything, when a familiar voice called out to him, "HAL!"

Hal turned to see the Star Saphire of his world, his wife, Carol Ferris, fly to him, "Hal, what is going on?!"

"Carol!" Hal flew over to her to help her in any way, however before he could reach her, the beings of darkness that the guardians warned him about, the Heartless, swarmed in and consumed her as well. Not even her ring managed to survive. Hal screamed, "CAROL! NO!"

He then aimed his ring at the swam of Heartless destroying them. However, he was unaware of the swarm of Heartless coming in from behind. However before he could be overwhelmed, Kilowog blasted them away, "Jordan! Focus! We still need you!"

The three Green Lanterns fought alongside the other members of the Corps until they appeared to be the only ones left. Salaak blasted used sword constructs as he slashed at the Heartless coming at them, "It's all gone! There's nothing left! Not even the Guardians survived."

"Then the least we can do to make many of these bastards pay before we go too!" Kilowog declared as he fired giant cannons, destroying as many Heartless in sight.

The remaining Green Lanterns held up for as long as they could but the darkness was about to overwhelm the remaining heroes. Just before it could, one more Lantern joined the fight. The remaining planet. Mogo. The living planet fired a massive giant dome around his fellow Green Lanterns pushing the darkness back, Hal smiled, "Mogo. You're a sight for sore eyes."

"Do not thank me yet, Hal Jordan," Mogo spoke through his ring, "My ring is low on power, and I have no doubt we are the last remaining beings in the Universe."

Salaak turned to the living planet, as the Heartless pounded on the shield, "How long can you maintain the shield?"

As the shield began to crack around them, Mogo admitted, "Only a few more minutes, then the Heartless overtake us."

Kilowog turned to the last remaining human, "What are we going to do, Jordon? We need a miracle right about now. Otherwise, it's the end of everything."

Hal thought for a moment as Salaak admitted, "That's not entirely true. Appa did theorize the light and life living on it would eventually return."

"Yeah but these things will still be a problem," Kilowog gestured to the Heartless, "And there won't be a single Green Lantern to stop 'em!"

The last Green Lantern of Earth then thought before his eyes widened in realization, "What if there was?" Kilowog and Salaak turned to him as he continued, "I think I do a Hail Mary pass, we won't survive but the Corps will live to fight another day."

Kilowog stared at him before nodding, "Do it. Salaak, Mogo, and I will keep them off of you for as long as I can."

Hal nodded before he then pulled out his power battery. He lightly joked, "Glad I remembered this for once."

The Bolovaxian nodded, "It was an honor to know you, Jordan. Salaak. Mogo."

Each Green Lantern nodded as Mogo declared, "Even in the shadows of death's doorstep, I am proud to be a Green Lantern."

As the Heartless began to break through Salaak and Kilowog began trying their best to keep them off Hal Jordan. He whispered, "Please God. Let this work. Carol. Guys. I'll be with you soon." The last of the humans of this universe aimed his ring at the battery as he recited the oath one last time, "In brightest day, in blackest night..."

Salaak destroyed a few more Heartless before the darkness overtook him as Hal continued, "No evil shall escape my sight..."

"C'mon! You, poozers! Bring it on!" Kilowog exclaimed as Mogo's shields died down as the darkness overtook the final planet.

"Let those who worship evil's might," Hal continued as he watched Killwog fall to and the Heartless turned to him next as he shouted at the rope of his lungs, "BEWARE MY POWER! GREEN LANTERN'S LIGHT!"

Both the ring and the Power Battery shined with green light, pushing the darkness back briefly before it faded and they consumed what was left. Only darkness remained. And the one who watched these events, "And so, the darkness consumed everything. Even that of Kingdom Hearts, while its counterpart, was broken into twenty pieces. Seven of Light and thirteen of Darkness. While the light of the Green Lantern Corps died with Hal Jordan... or so it would seem. But Light did survive, in the hearts of children. And with that light, the worlds of the universe were remade. But the true light sleeps, deep within the darkness. That's why the worlds are still scattered, divided from each other."

"And without the Green Lantern Corp and the Guardians of Oa, the surviving Guardians of Light were left to pick up the pieces." The Watcher explained as he watched the worlds of the new universe be rebuilt, "Time had passed since, but it was not the end of the Green Lantern Corps. Hal Jordan made sure of that. In his final moments, he sent his ring and battery through time, in the remade universe..."

In the mists of the remade worlds, a green light shined before the battery and ring floated to space as the ring announced, "Green Lantern of Sector 2814 Deceased. Searching For Replacement." The ring then noticed something, "Error. Sector 2814 no longer exists. Universe has been remade. Scanning of the New Universe."

The ring scanned around the strange stars around itself, before finishing, "Scan Complete. Continuing Prior Objective. Searching for Replacement."

The ring followed by the Power Battery float around to a new by the world. One with vast oceans and several small islands as the Watcher declared, "These events would bring the return of the Green Lantern Corps and the Universe would never be the same."

And that will conclude the prologue. Oh, and our narrator, the Watcher belongs to Marvel. Yes, this does lead to Sora getting his power ring. But before we continue, I left a poll on my profile page with a question: Other than Sora, who would you like to see as a Green Lantern? If you can't access it because you're on mobile, just write who would you like in the reviews or PM me. And the next chapter for Avengers: Darkness in Kingdom Hearts is coming and is nearly wrapping up. I just need to make the conclusion and the special sneak peek into the half-time of that story. Until next time, don't forget to leave a review and be sure to fav. and follow. See you next time!
