A terrible boom echoed throughout the panic-filled streets of City Q. Civilians from all walks of life clambered to either the local shelter or to their vehicles to flee the mass carnage. A calm, female voice sounded amidst the chaos. "EMERGENCY. A dragon-level threat has been detected within twenty-five miles of City Q. Remain calm and seek the nearest shelter," it repeated. More and more explosions flung dust and debris into the air, blocking out the sun. High above the chaos was a large humanoid figure. His physique seemed to be far above the peak of what humans are capable of, though his dark purple skin and pair of thick antennae on his head made it clear that he was anything but. He grimaced at the city below, almost in disgust at the concrete "jungle".

'As if these parasites have any right to call it that,' the being thought in spite.

The creature raised his clawed hand to the sky as if to call upon some mysterious energy. Three blue orbs of light materialized around it, and with a guttural roar, he hurled the spheres to the ground. The explosions they caused could be heard for miles with the buildings they collided with crashing to the ground. The beast smirked in satisfaction as he heard the distant screams of the filth who inhabited this wretched tumor on the earth's skin. He swiftly descended, now to continue with his mission more thoroughly.

The TV was the only source of light in a dimly lit apartment several cities away. Two figures in the dark were observing the news that was on the screen, though it appeared that one figure was watching more intently than the other.

"As you can see, City Q has become a war zone! Witnesses have reported seeing a 'big purple alien throwing lasers at the city,'" a reporter said as she struggled to maintain her composure; being so close to the destruction. "Several heroes including Smile Man and Lightning Max are responding now to the disaster and have been seen making their way towards ground zero to combat the threat-"An explosion went off suddenly behind her and the screen abruptly cut to static.

"Come on, let's go!" a feminine voice declared emphatically.

"Hm," another, more masculine voice said, though with much less enthusiasm. "Sure, I guess."

"Oh, chin up," the feminine voice said as one of the figures stood up. Her large mane of hair swaying as she got to her feet. "Who knows? It might be different this time."

As if igniting some last spark of hope, the masculine figure also stood up slowly and nodded.

Several men in brightly colored suits lay sprawled across the rubble; broken, bloodied, and unconscious. All while the monster remained completely unscathed. By now, the sky was rendered completely black by the debris cloud as the city was near-completely leveled. Any civilians who lived in what was once City Q either fled, are fearing for their lives in the shelter, or dead… save for one.

"M-mama!" cried out a lone little girl. "Papa!"

It's a miracle that she had survived the first wave of destruction. Her parents were nowhere to be seen; perhaps separated from her or killed. Scared and alone, all the young child could do was cry out for help.

Though it seems that her pleas did not fall upon deaf ears. Oddly enough, the monster appeared to have heard her voice and was now slowly approaching her. Stopping just a few feet away from her, he extended his hand to her, as if he were offering help. But the seemingly tender moment was quickly spoiled when the monster smirked, baring his sharp teeth. His extended arm grew to twice its original size, sprouting spikes and long curved claws. Its muscles tensed as it prepared to crush the little girl into a bloody paste. The child's fate seemed all but sealed.

But, in a split second and a gust of wind, the little girl was gone, and in her place was a single arrow piercing his hand. "Hmm?" It growled in confusion.

The creature looked to its right and saw two humans in… bizarre clothing.

One was a human male, though unlike the vast majority of them, he was completely bald. He was dressed in a yellow jumpsuit with red gloves and boots, and a long, flowing, white cape.

The other was a young female. In contrast to the other human, she had a long mane of black hair, tied up in a messy ponytail that reached all the way down her back and her skin had a darker complexion by comparison and she was covered with numerous scars of various sizes. She was more scantily clad with only a long blue skirt and blue sash bra to cover her extremities. A quiver of arrows was strapped to her back and she held the accompanying bow in her hand, while a kampilan rested in its scabbard on her hip. There was a white cloth wrapped around her head, covering her left eye.

The male human was holding the little girl in his arms. Gingerly, he set her on the ground and stood up.

"Who are you?" The hulking monster asked.

The male human smirked and turned around to face the monster, fully revealing his… unimpressive appearance.

"Just a guy and a goddess who're heroes for fun," he said, plainly, his face blank and emotionless.

Altogether, they looked very strange; almost silly, even.

The monster scoffed at his two would-be foes. "What… " A bemused expression was on the monster's face, before being replaced by a frightening scowl. " … kind of half-assed introduction is that!?"

"Hey!" The woman said, defensively. "I don't hear you coming up with anything better."

"I am a being that was birthed from the mother-earth as an answer to humanity's rampant pollution," the beast pounded his chest with a fervent pride. "I AM VACCINE MAN!"

" … Ok, that was actually pretty good," admitted the woman with a finger on her chin, earning a look from the bald man.

The beast ignored her and continued on. "This planet is a single living organism, and the humans are a plague that is slowly killing it!" Vaccine Man shouted. As he did, he seemed, very slowly, to grow. "The mother-earth bestowed me with the gift of life, along with the power and drive to exterminate mankind and free her from their insidious civilization… "

His growth sped up explosively, now sprouting large spikes that covered his entire body while also growing to nearly twice his, already huge, original height. Vaccine Man's fangs lengthened and curved into horrid tusks as his eyes turned a bright red. " … And yet, you, a mere human and a 'goddess', seek to oppose me, for fun!? FOR FUN, YOU SAY!?" The purple monster became increasingly enraged, now bearing his tusks and claws at the two heroes. "HOW DARE YOU STAND AGAINST I, THE MOTHER-EARTH'S APOSTLE, FOR SUCH A RIDICULOUS REASON! BUT WHAT WOULD I EXPECT FROM SOMETHING AS PATHETIC AND WORTHLESS AS A HUMAN!"

Vaccine Man lunged at the duo, hands, and mouth glowing with destructive life energy. The woman drew her blade, ready to strike, while the man took one step forward, raising his clenched fist. He reeled his arm back, and in one, swift motion…

BOOM!

The bald man punched the beast, reducing its entire body to a mess of scattered flesh and innards. The shockwave from just the blow itself completely dispelled the debris cloud above the destroyed city, revealing a clear blue sky.

The man stood there for a moment, staring at his own, still smoking fist, before dropping to his knees.

"Again… It ended in one punch, again!" he exclaimed in a mixture of shock, disbelief, and anger. "GODDAMMIT!"

As the bald hero shouted to the heavens, the woman kicked at a remnant of Vaccine Man's head, sighing. "Guess it wasn't different this time," she said.

Another One Punch Man story? I don't know, I just thought it would be fun. :P
