A young girl walked around the area, her eyes widened and a smile on her face when she notices many of the Reploids walking around. She then notices some Reploids looking over some supplies and started to walk over, wondering what they were doing.

"How did you get in here?"

She stops and turns to see a blue reploid walking up to her.

"Hi!" She said, cheerfully.

The Blue Reploid was surprised before kneeling to the girl.

"What's your name?" He asked her.

"I'm Ruby! What's yours?" She said, making the reploid smile.

"I'm X, it nice to meet you, Ruby." He said, smiling back.

"Why are you blue?" Ruby asked, looking over him.

"Wish I knew. You don't like the color?" X asked.

"Well, mommy always told me not to make fun of people's choices. I do like like red and black more, but blue looks good on you." Ruby said.

"Sound like a smart woman." X smiles.

"X?"

Both X and Ruby turns and saw another Reploid walking up, causing Ruby to hide behind X.

"Commander Simga," X said, standing up.

"I see you found the young girl that was rumored to slip inside the base," Sigma said.

"Yes, and I was talking to her to make sure she wasn't scared of anyone. I was just about to ask her where her family was so I could return her to them." X said.

"Understood," Sigma said as Ruby hid farther behind X.

X could feel that Ruby was scared of Simga and thought he should find out where Ruby lives.

"Well, carry out your mission, X," Simga said, walking passed them.

"I don't like him," Ruby said, peeking out.

X sighs. He knew that some people didn't like his commander and learned to let people deal with what they thought about someone. He only steps in when someone goes too far.

"Come on, let's find your parents," X said, looking at the girl.

Ruby nods and grabs X's hand, surprising him.

"I want to be a Maverick Hunter when I grow up!" Ruby said, smiling.

X blinks, surprised. A human Maverick Hunter? That was a first.

"Being a Maverick Hunter is a rough time."

Both of them turn and saw a red reploid with long golden hair walking up to them.

"Zero," X said, surprised to see his friend.

Ruby looked confused at his words.

"Why?" She asked.

"Let's just say that being a Maverick Hunter isn't fun and games. You have to make hard choices." Zero said.

"I think she's a little too young to know about that, Zero," X said.

"Hey! I'm 7 and a half! And drink my milk!" Ruby said, giving an angry-cute face.

Zero smiles before messing with her hair.

"I like ya, kid." He said before looking at X.

"I heard you're returning her to her family. I came to tell you that her mother is looking for her." He told him.

"Thanks, Zero. Where is she?" X said.

"Standing outside the base. I was trying to find out what was wrong when she told me about her daughter. Then I get a report that you found her and came to tell you." Zero said.

"Right, Thanks again," X said, nodding.

"See ya around, kid," Zero told Ruby, messing with her hair again.

He then walks past them as Ruby fixed her hair.

"He was nicer than that other one." She said.

X smiles before taking Ruby to the entrance. There, he found a woman that looked like an older version of Ruby, but she was wearing a white cloak on her.

"RUBY!" She said, rushing up to her daughter and hugging her.

"Don't you even run away from me like that again, young lady!" She told her.

"Sorry, mommy," Ruby said, looking sad.

The woman sighs before looking at X.

"Thank you." She said.

"It wasn't a problem. She didn't cause any trouble." X said, smiling.

"That's good. I know Ruby likes you Reploids but I'm trying to teach her that she can't just run up to them like that. And to think she was able to get in here." She said, sighing.

X nodded, understanding. Reploids were far stronger than humans and it was not a wise idea for a kid to get close to them without knowing the risks of doing so.

"Thank you, again, Maverick Hunter." She said, bowing.

"X, Ma'am." He said.

"Summer." The woman smiles, taking Ruby's hand.

"Come along, Ruby. And for running off, no cookies or strawberries for the rest of the day." She said, walking away.

"WHAT?! NO!" Ruby cried as her favorite treats were taken away from her.

X watched them, remembering Ruby's words.

"A human Maverick Hunter?" He said, wondering if a thing was possible.

8 years later,

15-year-old, Ruby sat in her workspace, putting the last touches on her new weapon. She sat back before wiping her forehead.

"Done, at last." She said, smiling.

While not much of a blaster, Ruby was able to make a weapon she could wield without replacing any of her limbs with robot parts. She looks at the picture of her and her mother, smiling.

"I'm sorry I couldn't save you, mom. I promise that I won't let you down." She said, kissing her fingers before placing them on the image of her mother.

3 years ago, Summer was caught in a Maverick attack, being one of the few people to be killed. Ruby cried for three days when she heard the news. She had no other family other than her father, who wanted nothing to do with her. Ruby was fair with that. He beats her mother, and Ruby was the one that called the cops on him. As far as she knew, that man could rot in jail.

She sighs as she picks out her weapon and sets it next to the armor she was also working on. Ruby was sent to foster homes until she older enough to take care of herself, which happened when she turned 14. It turned out that her mother left her with enough money to take care of herself before her death. And she made sure that no one other than Ruby can use it.

Ruby sighs as she notices the time. It was almost time to start her day job. The most boring day of her life! Ruby still plans on becoming a Maverick Hunter. But right now, she has to go to her boring day job.

Ruby exits out of the shower a few minutes later before hearing a report.

"An attack was made on the city a few hours ago, killing many people and reploids. The attack is the unknown origin as of now..."

Ruby blinks when she sees the image change and Ruby notices Simga appearing on the screen.

"Greetings, Humans. I am Sigma. I'm here to give a message to all of you. The age of Reploids has begun. Humans have outlived their lives and have no place in my new age. I encourage all Reploids to take up arms and join me! Together, we overthrow the humans and start a new age! For those that choose to stand against me, you won't last long. You will be destroyed. As for any humans, there is no room for you in my new utopia. Stand against me, and you will perish. This is your only warning."

Ruby blinks, surprised and confused. Sigma was declaring war against humans?! Against her kind?! This couldn't stand. Ruby turns and runs into her workspace, not caring she drops her towel. She reached for her armor, and slips on the jumpsuit she made before setting the machine to put the pieces of armor on her.

Ruby grabs her finished weapon before grabbing the cells she needed to use it. Ruby stood ready, wearing red and black armor, with no helmet, and a red cloak behind her. She didn't know what was going on, but she wasn't going to stand by and let people get hurt!

Ruby run through the city, seeing the damage that was done. It appeared that some reploid did indeed join Sigma and frowns. She didn't like this. Humans and Reploids were supposed to live in peace with each other. Why would one of the commanders of the Maverick Hunters go Maverick?! Ruby heard an explosion and stops to see it was coming from the Schnees Company, one of the biggest and well know companies. Though, it was stated that the owner was a huge Reploid hater.

Still, she wasn't going to let anyone get hurt. Ruby runs towards it, keeping an eye out for any Mavericks that might attack her.

Inside the company,

"Keep firing, don't let the mavericks in!" A Schness soldier ordered.

"AUGH!"

"Man down!"

"To think that half of the works would turn on us." A worker said, sad to see some of the reploid she work with went maverick.

"Guess, that's what happens when Mr. Schnee treats Reploids so poorly." A soldier said, making sure she was safe.

"Where are the Maverick Hunters?" Another soldier shouted.

"There are attacks everywhere! I even heard rumors that some of the Maverick Hunters joined Sigma!" Another said before taking cover.

"Are you kidding me?!" The other soldier shouted.

They then heard a blaster shoot out, hitting three mavericks in the cores. The soldiers turned to see a woman alongside a man, with a group of their soldiers.

"The GRIMM Force?" A Schnee's soldier asked, surprised.

"Men! Fight off the Mavericks and aid the workers!" General Ironwood orders.

"Yes, sir!" The soldiers said and started to help the Schnees soldiers.

However, the woman was looking around, trying to find someone.

"You there!" She said, pointing to the Schnees soldier.

"Yes, Ma'am?" He said, surprised.

"Have you seen my family?" She asked.

"Family? Wait, are you?!" The soldier asked before realizing who she was.

"I will not ask again! Where is my family?!" She ordered.

"They're trapped on the top floor! It has been reported that Mrs. Schnees was injured in the attack!" He said.

"No." The woman said, turning to Ironwood.

"Go." He said, knowing that she was worried for her family.

Winter nods, rushing inside, hoping her mother and her younger siblings were safe. Not really caring much about her father.

Ruby made it to the company and notices the GRIMM Force aiding the battle. The GRIMM Force was like the Maverick Hunters, only they don't get involved with Mavericks. They mostly deal with human criminals that not even the police could handle. Still, the battle was being fought and Ruby decide they could handle it.

She rushes to the building before climbing up the pipeline. She was able to reach the tenth floor before peeking inside. So far, it was clear. Ruby opens the window and jumps in. She pulls out her weapon and arms it.

"Time to hunt some Mavericks." She said, rushing forward.

Ruby ran down the hall, keeping an eye out for any Mavericks. She turned around a corner and notices a few Reploids turning to her.

"Friendly?" Ruby asked before they aimed their weapons at her.

"Guess not!" She said, jumping away as they fired.

Ruby ran around the corner again before jumping behind a falling desk. The Mavericks followed, still shooting at her. Ruby pops back up and fires a few shots of her own before ducking back down.

Ruby knew she couldn't remain here and had to think of a plan. She then got an idea and waited. Taking a breath and counting to three, Ruby jumped over the desk, firing a few shots, forcing the Mavericks to back away. Ruby smiles as he pressed a button on her weapon, causing it to change shape. It soon became a long scythe and Ruby swing it at the first Maverick, cutting it in half. She started to slash through each and every Maverick. Some tried to fight back but didn't stand a chance against her new weapon.

Ruby soon slashes the last Maverick, glad that her makeshift lessons worked. She switches her scythe back into its gun mood before placing it behind her. She was fully aware that these were former Schnee employees, but they were mistreated so badly by the owner they started to hate all humans. Ruby said as she remember what that Red Reploid told her 8 years ago. She had to be ready to make some tough choices. Right now, she has to do want she can to save everyone.

Ruby ran on ahead, not seeing Winter rushing in, her blaster ready. She stops when she saw that the Mavericks were already destroyed. She walks up and looks at them.

"They were cut with some sharp. Sharp enough to shut them down." She said, confused.

She didn't know what was going on, but she knew she had no time to waste. She stood and started to run, hoping to find her family before it was too late.

"And this is why having Reploids around is dangerous!"

Weiss Schnees sighs as her father once again complains about the Reploids. Weiss was kind of sad to see the Reploids that work her since her Grandfather took over were now attacking everyone on site because of a Reploid declaring war on humans. Weiss was chosen to become the new owner of the family company once her father retired, hoping to undo the damage he's done.

She hear her mouth groan, trying to stop the bleeding she had on her side. Her younger brother was trying to help as Weiss sighed. If only her father understood that Reploids were more than robots.

She jumps when the doors to the main office were bang on. Weiss knew this was a problem. They had to escape and get her mother to a hospital, but her father refuse to move from the office.

"Stupid Reploids! I try to tell that doctor that we did need them, but no! He assured me that he had things under control!" Mr. Schness yelled.

"Daddy! Will you please stop complaining and help mother?!" Weiss shouted, tired of her father's whining.

"Don't you talk back to me, young lady!" He said, slapping her.

"Wiess!" Her brother said, shocked to see her sister on the floor.

The doors finally gave and slammed open. Wiess turns and notices that one walking inside was one of the new hires, who was trying to ruin her father since working here.

"Mr. Schnees, I'm here to inform you that you're fired." He said, stomping up.

"Fired?! I can't be fired!" He shouted, but flinch back when the new hire glared at him.

"I have tried to ruin you in any way I could, but it seems I have no choice but to do things the messy way." He said before looking at the other three members.

"My anger is only towards Mr. Schnee, you three are free to leave." He said, surprising them.

Mrs. Schness groans, unable to move because of her injury.

"Mother," Wiess said, checking on her.

The new hire notices the blood on her and sighs. He didn't want to, but there was no way the kids will leave without their mother.

"Then forgive me," He said, aiming his hand at them.

"Why?! Why would you do this?!" Whitley shouted.

"Because your father fails to understand we have feelings. As I said, I have no beef with you three, but if you won't leave, then I must get rid of you as well." He said, shocking him.

Weiss stood in front of her mother and brother, looking at the reploid she was starting to call her friend. The Maverick looked back seeing that she wasn't scared at all.

"If there's one thing I liked about you, Wiess, it's the fact you never back down when facing a threat. Had you fleed, I might even consider having you join us, but I know you will never work with a Maverick." He said, looking sad.

"Cesar," Wiess said, looking at him.

He sighs before getting ready to fire.

"HEY!"

Everyone stops and looks to see Ruby standing by the burst doors, crossing her arms.

"Leave them alone, you maverick!" She shouted, causing Cesar to look at her.

"You're not a Maverick Hunter. Nor one of the GRIMM Force soldiers. Who are you?" He asked.

"I may not be part of the Maverick Hunters, and I don't plan on joining the GRIMM Forces, but I'm not going to let you hurt that family!" Ruby said, pulling out her weapon.

Cesar looks at her before sighing.

"If you stand in my way, then I have no choice, but to put you down." He said.

"There's always a choice!" Ruby said, standing ready.

Cesar looks at her before sighing again. He fires a blast that Ruby jumps over before shooting a few shots of her own.

"Another reploid?!" Mr. Schnees shouted.

"I'm not a reploid. And you need to shut up!" Ruby told him.

"How dare you! Do you have any idea..." Mr. Schnee shouted before Ruby cut him off.

"Someone that's about to hand over to the Mavericks if you stop putting yourself above everyone!" She shouted, knowing that he was the main reason the Reploids in the company went Maverick.

Ruby stood ready as Cesar looks at her. He could tell that she was human, but his new leader has told him that no humans were worthy in his world. He might try to make him change his mind about the Schnee Family, once he rid of the man that hates Reploids. Ruby knew she was facing a real-life Maverick. The ones she fought before were nothing more than footsoldiers. Taking a breath, Ruby held her weapon up ready to fight.

And that's it for this chapter. It's been a while since I did an RWBY/Mega Man crossover and I decide to do a crossover with Mega Man X this time. Now a few things different about this story compare to the two series. Both the RWBY show and the Mega Man X games exist in the same world. Instead of Hunters and Huntress, there are the Maverick Hunters and the GRIMM Forces. Also, Ruby and Yang, who will appear later, are not half-sisters in this one. Ruby has a completely different father, who never like her and was mean to Summer after she was pregnant with Ruby. Weiss's mother didn't leave her family after learning the truth about her husband and Ruby wants to be a Maverick Hunter instead of a Huntress.

Next chapter I'll cover Ruby's fight with her Intro Boss before trying to bring in Blake and Yang. I don't know if Blake is still going to be Fannus in this story. I'm thinking about making her a Reploid, but I haven't fully decided yet.
