"With my death, I bring you the best eye of all, the Mangekyo" Shisui announced to Itachi as he ripped out his remaining left eye and placed it onto one of his crows.
Shisui graciously took a few steps back as prepared to end his own life by falling into the waterfall below.
"Shisui wait!" Itachi pleaded as he slowly approached his best friend, hoping he could convince him not to do this.
"Don`t try to stop me Itachi..." were the final words of Shisui Uchiha to his best friend Itachi, before he leapt of the cliff into the waterfall.
"SHISUI!" Itachi called out in vain.
Shisui could feel his consciousness slipping, as he felt his body falling faster and faster until...
Splash
This was it, Shisui thought to himself, he was finally dead. Although he was rather at peace with it, as his consolation was that he had at least died for a noble cause.
Shisui felt as though he was floating, albeit he couldn`t even feel his own body.
'So this is it huh? The Pure Land. I wonder if I can meet mother and father again...' Shisui thought to himself as he adjusted to this weird dream-like state he was in. Death did not bother Shisui at all, the only thing that mattered was dying to protect those he loved as for him.
"Shisui Uchiha" A soft female voice spoke up.
Shisui fluttered his "eyes" open to see a woman drapped in an elegant white robe. However that was the most normal part about her as Shisui noticed that she had White Wings on her back and some type of ring floating above her head, just what was she? Shisui thought to himself.
"Yes?" He answered, weirded out at how this woman knew also his name.
"I see you are probably very confused right now. Do you know who I am, or what I am?" The woman asked him.
"No, I do not unfortunately." Shisui admitted truthfully.
"I am an Angel. A messenger of the Chief Goddess. My given name that you may address me by is Sariel." The Angel named Sariel explained.
"An Angel? I`ve never heard about Angels in any of the history books in Konoha." Shisui told Sariel.
"Your world is one of many alternate versions of Earth that exist. What I mean is that every world possess properties that make it unique, hence why there are no Angels in your world. For instance in your world the life force that flows through all humans is named Chakra. In the world that I watch over that life force is named Spirit Energy." Sariel further explained.
"This Spirit Energy you speak of, is it like Chakra?" An intrigued Shisui asked.
"It is mostly. The only differences are that Chakra is more malleable than Spirit Energy and that Spirit Energy is more potent in males than it is in females." Sariel answered.
"I see. May I ask another question Sariel-san?" Shisui politely requested.
"Yes you may." She replied.
"Where exactly are we?"
"As we speak we are in Purgatory. A plane of existence where souls are purified before entering Heaven and the evil souls go to hell. However since you live a just and honourable life, and even sacrificed your life to protect those you care for, you are worthy of entering Heaven"
"Thank you, Sariel-san." Shisui said as he bowed respectfully.
"You are most welcome child. However you should give thanks to the Chief Goddess instead as she is the one who judged you as worthy." Sariel stated.
"However you will not be entering Heaven yet." She added flatly.
"Why? You said I was worthy!" Shisui asked angered.
"You are still worthy Shisui, it is just that due to your prowess in combat that is typically only seen once in a generation, the Chief Goddess has decided that you will be brought back to life." Sariel explained calmly.
"Why?" Shisui asked rather harshly.
"Because in our Earth, the Chief Goddess and her followers, known as the Order, are fighting tirelessly to prevent the monsters, led by the Demon Lord, from enslaving Humanity" Sariel further explained.
"Unfortunately the war is not going in our favour, and everyday more of our knights fall to the monsters." Sariel said somberly.
Then Sariel did something Shisui wasn`t expecting, she practically flew into his arms and hugged him tight.
"Please Shisui, you`re one of our last hopes. The Chief Goddess would gladly allow you into Heaven this instant if the matter wasn`t looking so grave for us." Sariel pleaded as with a shaky voice.
Shisui thought this over a while. If what Sariel is saying is true, then he would gladly help any way he can. If not, than he`d gladly accept being in the Shinigami`s stomach for all eternity to atone for any would-be sins.
Although for some reason, he couldn`t shake the feeling that she wasn`t telling him the whole truth yet at the same time the sincerity of her voice was evidence enough that she was being honest. Perhaps he was just being paranoid and overthinking the situation, but his instinct told him otherwise. For now he decided he would play along, and find out more about the war between this "Order" and the "Monsters"
"Seeing as it is for a noble cause, I`ll accept the offer to assist the Chief Goddess." Shisui answered confidently.
"Really? Thank you so much Shisui! I promise you that the Chief Goddess shall reward you greatly." Sariel exclaimed as she tightened her hug.
Realising she was almost choking the poor Uchiha, Sariel let go of Shisui to allow him to breathe.
"Hehe, sorry about that." She apologised.
"Anyway, let me take you to one of the Order`s last strongholds, Lescatie." Sariel stated as she placed a hand on Shisui's shoulder.
"Huh teleport? Like the Yondai-" Shisui was cut off as his world was spinning rather violently, almost to the point where he felt like he was gonna pass out.
Thankfully the violent spinning stopped soon enough, and when Shisui's vision stabilized he noticed he was not in a spectacular Palace built in an architectual style that he`d never seen in his life.
"Hey! You coulda warned me you know!" Shisui yelled to Sariel.
"Oops. sorry about that, we just really needed to get here urgently." Sariel explained sheepishly.
"Follow me please." Sariel ordered.
Shisui did as instructed and followed Sariel through the palace.
Shisui had to admit he was rather impressed by the palace's design, the colourful glass windows depicting otherworldly figures he'd never seen before amazed Shisui. The guards wore a sort of armour that somewhat reminded him of the samurai of the Land of Iron, albeit it looked... different.
A few silent murmurs were heard amongst the guards as Shisui walked passed them. He didn`t care much for what they were gossiping about. although he did pick up some of them mentioning a place named Zipangu.
The duo had finally arrived at the large doors. The guards wasted no time in opening the doors to reveal a lavishly decorated room.
There were seats that were occupied by men and women draped in some type of kimono Shisui had never seen before, and sitting above them all was a man and a woman, both adorned in golden jewellery and crowns.
'Judging from their expensive clothing, this man must probably be the Daimyo and the others advisors or councilmembers' Shisui thought to himself as he examined the room.
"An Angel of the Chief God, to what do I the honour of having an audience with you?" The man asked humbly.
"Greetings King Castor. I am here to deliver a message, or more specifically a person." Sariel answered.
"You mean the boy next to you?" Castor asked curiously.
"Yes. Do not underestimate this boy though, for he was personally selected by the Chief Goddess to assist us in our war against the Demon Lord"
Sariel explained coolly.
"What is your name?" Castor asked.
"Shisui Uchiha of the Village Hidden in the Leaves sir." Shisui answered with a respectful bow.
"Shisui huh? You must be incredibly talented for the Chief Goddess herself to select you as one of her chosen heroes." The King beamed.
"I am sir. I was one of the most gifted members of my clan and village." Shisui stated proudly.
"Let me show you." Shisui said as he activated his Sharingan, which earned him many gasps and awes, even from the King.
"Your eyes. Why are they like that?" Castor asked.
"It's a kekkei genkai of my clan called the Sharingan. The Sharingan allows me to copy my opponents techniques while also giving me heightened reflexes and perceptive abilities." Shisui explained.
"I see, I have no doubt you will become one of our finest warriors Shisui. Since you are already an experienced warrior you will begin your first expedition tomorrow." Castor declared.
"No problem sir, although where will I get my gear for tomorrow`s mission. All I have on me right now are the clothes on my back." Shisui explained to the King.
"That is a trivial matter." Sariel spoke up.
Sariel then opened up the palm of her right hand, and in a flash of light a Golden encrusted sword along with a baby blue headband with the Order symbol on it appeared in her hand.
"Thank you Sariel." Shisui said as he took the headband and sword.
"My pleasure. I will be watching you from Heaven to see how you do Shisui." Sariel said as she vanished into thin air.
"Shisui Uchiha, since you are now a blessed Hero of the Chief God, you will be given appropriate accommodations in the Upper class district. Any armour and weapons you want will be readily delivered to you when you wish. Now is there questions you wish to ask, or any more requests to make your new home more comfortable?" The King asked.
"No sir, I am fine for now." Shisui answered coolly.
"Well then, please feel free to explore Lescatie whenever you please, I will assign you a servant to assist you with any needs of yours." The King spoke as a girl with dirty blonde hair and ragged clothing hurriedly walked towards Shisui.
"Greetings Master Shisui, I-I am Marisa and w-will be your dutiful s-servant." The girl mumbled.
"I will show you to your house Master Shisui, unless you desire to see L-Lescatie first. D-do you want to go home now, or see the city first?" Marisa stuttered nervously.
"I`d appreciate if you could give me a tour of Lescatie first please." Shisui asked humbly.
"No problem Master Shisui, h-here is the keys to your home." Marisa said shyly.
"Sir, I hope you don`t mind if I see the city first. Is that alright?" Shisui asked the King.
"Certainly. I hope you enjoy what Lescatie has to offer Shisui, Until then this session is now dismissed." The King declared as the council people began chatting amongst themselves and began to leave.
Shisui nonchalantly strolled out of the council room, with Marisa close by his side.
Shisui stopped and examined his Hitai-ate adorned with the Order crest. These last few hours had been a rather bizarre situation of events. A few hours ago Shisui was on the brink of death and had his right eye stolen from him by Danzo Shimura. Now...he was told he had to partake in another war he barely knew about, didn`t even know where he was and had his right eye again.
Sometimes it was just best to not look a gift horse in the mouth he thought to himself.
Shisui decided that he would explore the town to find more answers, too many things weren`t adding up, and one of the councilmen eerily reminded him of Danzo.
Shisui sighed at trying to comprehend this situation, and took off his Kohona headband, placed it in his pocket and tied the Order hitai-ate around his head.
He could only hope that what ever awaited him tomorrow on first mission as an Order shinobi would give him some answers about the ongoing war between the Order and the Monsters.
