It was a cold autumn evening in the Hundred Acer Wood. The stars were shining bright along with the pale moon hovering above the forest. Everyone was sound asleep in their warm beds. Each dream is as colorful as the leaves in the autumn sunlight.

Pooh dreamed of swimming in a lake of pure honey. His arms moved in and out of the golden water effortlessly as he would do in normal water. His legs propelling him from one shore to another with each strong kick. On the shore, there was a judges table ruled by several colorful butterflies and honeybees each gave him a score of ten while rows upon rows of honeypots sat in the bleachers cheering him on. "Pooh bear! Pooh bear!"

Piglet found himself in a field of flowers. Goldenrods at his left, violets at his right, bluebells in front and daisies behind him as he laid down. Everywhere he found sheep and acorns talking to each other while some acorns twirled around. Then, he noticed several colorful birds making flower crowns of every size. Before he could say hello, he felt something sliding down his ears. He looked up and found a crown made of petunias, morning glories and daisies. Two birds, one red with orange tips and the other a deep shade of blue, were perched beside him. "Why, thank you." He smiled.

As for Tigger's dream, He does what Tiggers do best: bouncing. He bounced along the trees and rocks. Not even bridges could stand in his way. However, he had a woozle leaping by his side in an effort to beat him in the race they made together. "Bet I can out bounce you anywhere you go!" It sneered. Its thin body acted like it was made of a giant spring as it launched high above the treetops before landing close to Tigger.

Tigger dodged as the woozle tried knocking him over into the river. "Don't be ridicerrus! Nobody can out bounce the one and only Tigger!" Tigger smiled. He narrowed his eyes and they gleamed with pure mischief. "And you mister woozle are going my dust!" Using every ounce of energy that had been stored within his tail, Tigger launched himself high in the air. Up, up and up he went, flying clear past the blue sky like a rocket heading into outer space and landed on the moon's surface.

He looked around the gray rocks that surrounded him. He walked over and saw the woozle screaming something to him, but he wasn't able to hear whatever insult was being made. "Hmm…not what I had in mind." He thought aloud. Tigger shrugged it off. "Bah! What can you do?" He leaned over so the woozle could see him. "I TOLD YOU SO!" He began making several funny faces at the already angry woozle.

One dream after another, each dream was interesting and colorful. Rabbit's involved teaching any array of bugs how to do gardening. Fields of thistles and a rainbow above his head always made Eyore's dream the best. Kanga and Roo snuggle on the couch while dreaming tons of candy, cookies and cakes that they would share with everyone while drinking a river of tea and Lumpy, the only Heffalump in the world who wouldn't hurt his friends, plays a song through his trunk.

The night was indeed perfect for dreams to be the happiest for all the Hundred Acre Wood. However, no one was aware of the two unfriendly shadows that were gliding in the starlit sky. "Come on! Let me have it", one of the shadows whined. Its cat-like claws stretched out, trying to retrieve the round, tightly bundled object from its companion.

"No Way!" The second shadow leered back with glowing red eyes while the orange eyes glaced away. "You nearly blew it back in Emerald Forest. No doubt those guards are still chasing us."

"But surely we've lost them after we ducked into some of those brambles." The orange-eyed shadow tried to move closer.

"Yeah! Thank you for reminding me to get some of those cursed thorns of my rear!"

The orange-eyed shadowed, lowered its long ears. "Please…Pretty please with fish bones on top." It flew in front of its companion. "I promise I won't drop it."

A ruby glare shot out from the second shadow. It whipped out its spiked tail in one smooth, whip-like motion. "Quit with the puppy dog eyes and get moving!" With a wing that resembled an insect, it pushed past its friend. Before it can move any further, feline claws latched onto the cloth that the mysterious item was wrapped in.

"Let go!"

"NO!"

"You nearly dropped it!"

"It's so warm and shiny!"

"It's not that cold out here, you ninny!"

"You better let go or I'll -"

As the two shadows argued, the bundle started to become unwrapped. Each piece of cloth and bandage fell away to reveal a hint of a red-orange color. Suddenly, the item popped out and began to descend down into the Hundred Acer Wood. Down, down, it went like a shooting star that had been knocked down from the sky.

Both the shadowy monsters shrieked in alarm by the sight and flew after it. Both figures pushing and shoving in their frantic attempt to get the egg. Despite their best efforts, the orb vanished into the treetops which caused them to pull up at the last minute. They didn't want to become ensnared by the branches in the same way they had been tangled in the brambles for a few days. They listened helplessly as the egg went from one branch to another until it was followed by a loud kerplunk! The two shadows hovered for a moment, then they glared at each other. "Now look at what you've done?!" The red-eyed shadow snapped. "We need to go into the forest and find it before those guards do." He flew southward to find an opening that would allow both of them to enter the Hundred Acer Wood.

"HMPH!" The orange-eyed shadow crossed his arms in anger. "It would've never happened if you've just given me the package!" Before long, it joined its companion in the search for entry.

When morning arrived, Pooh got up to do his usual morning routine. After doing several stretches and going through his second large honey pot, he decided to go to his thinking spot to figure out what he should do for the rest of the day. He put on his favorite green scarf and rearranged his honey pot either wise, he would forget. "I should check to see if any bees are out and about while I'm heading out there." He said to himself. "After all, making honey is what they do best."

Once out the door, he hummed a happy tune. "Dum de de dum dum…" As he continued his song, he found there was no bee to be seen so far into the woods. "Oh bother," he sighed. "I guess it's too cold for them to be out this morning. I don't blame them." He shivered slightly as a brisk wind whistled past him. He began rubbing his paws to keep warm. As he walked along the river bank, he noticed something glittering in the water. "Oh! What's this?!" He gasped in awe.

There was a round object bobbing in the river, its red-orange color turning amber in the sunlight whenever it turned under the river currents. Some of the fish that swam close to the surface swarmed around it. It was almost as if the object had asked them to keep it company as it made its way down the winding river. From this standpoint, it looked like an orange pebble rolling down a blue blanket.

Pooh didn't completely know what the mysterious object was, even when the object was floating in the middle of the river, but he took his best guess on would float and is round. "I wonder if anyone lost a honeypot last night." He said. "Hmm…I think I should get it out of the water." He took a step forward into the river when he felt a rush of cold enter his body. He leaped backward. Despite being a bear of very little brain, he does remember certain events that can be viewed as a problem for his friends. One involving a long night of being sick at Rabbit's house. "I know Rabbit wouldn't want that to happen again."

He began looking along the ground, wondering where he could find a stick that would reach the middle of the river. Then, he looked up at some nearby trees. One tree had a bare branch that seemed to fall off at any moment. The smaller portions of the branch that curled upward like strange fingers to a thin hand. He walked up to the branch and jumped up with all his might. Both paws clasped the branch as hard as he could. He swung himself back and forth, but the branch held in place. "Um…Excuse me," he said to the tree, being a very polite bear as he is. "If you don't mind, I would like to take one of your branches. It's really impor-" Before Pooh could finish, a loud snap sounded and Pooh landed on his back with a thud. "Ow…Thank you."

Dragging the stick, he walked further down the river to make sure it was in front of the egg. He placed it in front of the water and waited. When the object came closer, he used every strength he could muster into his arms to have the branch come into contact with it. Once it was cradled into the wooden hand, he began pulling it towards him. "Yes!" Pooh cheered. "I got it!" As the object was pulled closer to him, Pooh realized that it wasn't a honeypot at all. It was a large, if not completely strange, egg. "Huh?" Pooh tilted his head. "Never seen an egg this big before. I wonder if a large bird had dropped it by accident." He pulled once more until the egg touched the soft ground of the bank.

Bending down, he felt a few drops of cold water touch his paws but was soon surprised by how the egg was still warm despite being dropped into a river. He became even more surprised when he lifted the egg with all his might and almost fell backward. It felt as if he was holding a rock than an actual egg. The color of the shell was orange-red like a small flame which turned amber in the sunlight. It was also bigger than most of Pooh's honeypots and the tip of the egg kept touching his chin. Curious about this strange visitor, he knocked on the shell. "Hello," He said. "Is anyone in there?"

Silence fell in the forest with the river running as the only exception. Then, there was a faint tap. Suddenly, the egg started to wiggle in Pooh's arms and noises erupted from it. Clicks, taps and a slight growl. Pooh nearly jumped in freight and held the egg tighter in order to prevent it from falling out of his arms. "Gosh," Pooh gasped. His mouth dropped and his eyes widened in amazement at this strange sight. "What kind of bird are you?"
