AN: Hi everyone! This is my first fanfiction so we'll see how it goes. I've read a lot of stories where Percy goes to Hogwarts, and so I've basically just taken all my favorite ideas from that and mashed it together into one story. And ummm... yeah. Shout out to my amazing boyfriend for proofreading this!
"Lord Zeus, you cannot expect us just to let these two demigods die!" exclaimed Poseidon. "Do I need to remind you of all they have done for us?" The courtroom murmured in agreement.
"The boy already turned down our offer once, who's to say he won't do it again? Besides, if we offer this, they become far too powerful for my liking." Retorted Zeus.
"But Lord Zeus," Aphrodite countered, "he refused our offer before because of the girl. It was really quite romantic. But now, we must offer this to both of the heroes. Neither of them have any reason to refuse us. And if our suspicions are correct, they have every reason to accept this, or else they will destroy themselves from the inside out."
"No, we cannot do this!" shouted Zeus. "They will be too powerful. Anyway, demigods are not expected to live this long anyway. They should be grateful that they have survived this long. Their deaths will just be from the natural order of things."
"But brother," Hades spoke for the first time, "this is not the natural order of things. They are the first demigods to survive the pit and go through the Doors of Death. There is nothing natural about that. They shouldn't have had to go through that, and now you just want to let them die because they faced horrors that even us gods can't imagine?"
"Yes that is exactly what I want to do. They have become too powerful. They have led fulfilling lives: they saved the world twice. They should be plenty happy with that. And now they can go rest in Elysium."
"I'm sorry what was that?" Athena grew angry. "You think they wanted to be forced into the lives they have led? You think they should be grateful that they have gotten to save the world twice? You think they should be happy that they have had to watch so many of their friends die? And now that they have saved the world and us so many times, you think we should just leave them to die? The least we can do is offer them the choice. And who knows? Maybe they won't accept it. But how can we just leave these two to die knowing what they have done for us? Face it father; you're just scared of them. They have had to save your ass too many times before, and now you're indebted to them, and if you just let them pass then you won't have to worry about them."
"I am not scared of two puny mortals!" roared Zeus. "I just don't see why we should give these two this much power. The boy already had the audacity to make a mockery of us when he turned down our offer the first time. Why should we give him the chance to do so again? If we want to be nice we can give them a space on the Isle of the Blessed without them having to earn it three times. But my final answer is no. We will not extend this offer to them."
"I am sorry Lord Zeus, but we cannot allow you to do that," chorused three old voices from the back of the throne room. The counsel turned their heads and there stood the three fates. "It is not their time to die. You must offer them the choice. We cannot guarantee if they will accept, and if they don't then they will indeed pass. But if our suspicions are correct, they will accept, and there is nothing you can do about it."
"Hmpf, fine. Someone summon the two here. Let's get this over with. But I don't like this"
Poseidon and Athena clapped their hands and a very confused looking Perseus Jackson and Annabeth Jackson née Chase appeared in front of the Olympian Council.
"Hello heroes," said their parents. "We've summoned you here in order to explain something and to offer you a choice. We will let Zeus explain."
"Yes well, as you two very well know, you are the only two demigods to ever survive going through Tartarus and go through the Doors of Death. Because of this, something strange has happened."
"Wait but what about Nico?" interrupted Percy. "He survived Tartarus too."
"Zeus's eyes flashed with anger: "Don't interrupt me boy. Yes, Nico may have survived Tartarus too, but he was not down there nearly as long as you were, nor did he go through the Doors of Death. Therefore, the same thing has not happened to him. Anyway, when you two were down there, you unlocked powers within yourselves that you never should have had."
"Oh like what I did with that poison?" asked Percy.
"What did I say about interruptions?" shouted Zeus. "But yes like what you did with the poison. No demigod should be able to do that. We hoped that there would be no negative side effects to these newfound powers, but it looks like that is not the case. Over the years since the war has ended, your bodies have been at war with themselves, trying to handle the power. And it has come to the point where it seems that your bodies can no longer handle it. Your bodies will tear themselves apart from the inside out. It has become especially dangerous for you Annabeth, considering that your body is now supporting two people instead of just one."
"Wait how did you know about that? We haven't told anyone," exclaimed Annabeth.
"Honestly dear, we're gods. It's not something you can hide from us." replied Hera. "Besides I am the goddess of family. It's my job to know these things."
"But there is one way you can stop this. A long time ago, we offered to make you a god, Percy. A god's body can handle this power. In fact, it is expected for a god to have that much power, and more. So once again the council is giving you this offer for everything you have done for us. Only this time, the offer extends to both of you, not just Percy. So will you two accept being made gods, or will you choose to perish because of your own powers?"
"Thank you for this offer Lord Zeus, may we have a moment to discuss it between the two of us before we make our decision?" asked Annabeth.
Zeus's eyes darkened: "we offer you immortality and once again, you don't accept it immediately? I should blast both of you with my bolt for this disrespect. I should-" He stopped and looked around to see everyone in the room glaring at him. "Ugh fine, you may discuss it. But don't take too long."
Percy and Annabeth went to the corner of the throne room to discuss their options.
"What do you think we should do wise girl?"
"I really don't know. I don't want to die yet. I want to be here for our child. But I don't want to be a goddess. Surviving while everyone around us dies sounds miserable. I don't know if I can handle it."
"If we accept, I'll be here with you. We will always have each other. But yes I don't particularly want to be a god."
"If we refused the offer, would our child live?" Annabeth asked the whole room.
"No it wouldn't" the fates said. "If you refuse, you will have about a month left to live."
Percy and Annabeth turned back to each other.
"We can't let our child die. We have to accept," said Annabeth.
"Dammit you're right. We have no choice. I just hope we won't live to regret this." replied Percy.
They turned to speak to the whole room: "We accept your offer."
"Before we do this, what will we be the gods of?" asked Percy.
"Well, here's the thing," Poseidon said, "We don't exactly know. When demigods become gods, they become the gods of whatever suits them most. We won't know what that is until it's done."
"Well OK then, I guess we should just get this over with."
The fates stepped forward. "We are the only ones who can perform this ritual. You will appear to be dead for a moment as we strip you of your mortality and make you fully gods. We will only be able to do one at a time, so do not panic when the other drops down. Perseus, you will be first."
The three reached out their hands and a golden, glowing light came out of their hands and merged into one beam. When it hit Percy, he dropped down with his face contorted in pain. Annabeth gasped, but didn't do anything just as the fates instructed. He soon began to glow, and he rose off of the floor. He became brighter and brighter, until Annabeth had to shield her eyes so that she wasn't blinded. Suddenly the glowing stopped, and Percy fell to the floor with a peaceful look on his face. That's all Annabeth could take in before the light from the fates hit her too. The same thing happened: she dropped down in pain, and then began to glow and rise. Soon, she too stopped glowing and dropped peacefully back down. A few minutes later the two began to stir. When they stood up, Aphrodite squealed.
"Look at that, they share part of their domain. They truly are soulmates. I truly did a good job when I set them up." She congratulated herself.
The rest of the Olympians rolled their eyes. Then they all stood up and spoke as one: "Hail Perseus, god of Heroes and Loyalty and Lord of the seas. Hail Annabeth, goddess of Heroes and Pride and Libraries."
"Gods fucking damn it, why can't I just be Percy?"
"Really seaweed brain? We just became gods and that's your reaction?"
"Well, it's a lot to take in and so that was the first thing I was really able to comment on."
"Wait a second, if we're gods, then what will our child be?" asked Annabeth.
"Well considering the fact that you were mortal when it was conceived, it will be a demigod. But because of what you are now, it will be extremely powerful, although not so powerful that it will need to be changed into a god. Any children you have from this point forward will be immortal, but they will not have a domain," answered the fates. "Furthermore, to help the transition for you two from mortal to god, we give you permission to be directly involved in the lives of mortals for the next hundred years. After that, you will have to abide by the same rules that all of the other gods abide by."
"Wait what?" exploded Zeus. "They get to see their children? Directly influence events? I told everyone they would have too much power, and what do you know? I was right!"
The fates turned to look at him: "Calm yourself, Lord Zeus. Need we remind you that we did the same thing for Dionysus when he was made a god? You had no problems with it then."
"You didn't do this for Hercules when he was made a god," retorted Zeus.
"That's because Hercules had lived his full life when he was made a god," they replied.
"These two would have as well if we had just waited for one more month," grumbled Zeus.
"But that was because these two survived a place that no mortal was ever meant to survive. Believe us, we kept going to cut their strings, but we never could. We now see this is because they were meant to become gods. We give them these one hundred years because no one was meant to survive Tartarus. If they had not been there, they would have had far more than one more month to live."
"But-"
"Enough Lord Zeus. This is not up for negotiation."
"Hmpf fine. Well, the council is dismissed. We've gotten through everything that we needed to discuss."
"Wait," said Percy, "For these 100 years, may we continue to live in New York and live fairly normal lives?"
Poseidon chuckled: "Well, there's nothing stopping you from living in New York, but your lives will be far from normal."
Percy looked at Annabeth. "Well then, I suppose we should try using our new godly powers to teleport back home. No more elevators with crappy music!"
Annabeth laughed. "Seaweed brain, of course that's what you care about. The elevator music. I suppose that's fair though. It is pretty awful."
"Of course it's fair. Now how on earth do we teleport?"
"I'm not really sure, but it can't be that difficult." Annabeth thought for a moment, and then disappeared in a flash of golden light.
"Now how on earth did she do that?" Percy wondered. He racked his brain for a second, until he found the information he needed. He visualized the apartment he and Annabeth owned, and soon he too disappeared in a flash of golden light and reappeared in his home.
