HERO ACADEMIA
WATERBLUE NEW WORLD
A Hero Academia - Love Live Sunshine Crossover
Author's Note
Third story of Hero Academia – Love Live Sunshine Crossover. This is a continuation of Smile Smile Ship Start! in which Aqours spent several nights onboard the cruise ship Stella Polaris. Right after they landed, Aqours went straight into rigorous training for Love Live Finals, held within a month from the end of Smile Smile Ship Start! The Class 1-B boys also went back to UA, expecting a pat in the back for foiling a terrorist attack.
But we know that things seldom go the way we want, right? Right?
This story draws inspiration from 2 things:
1. There is little rivalry between Aqours and a 'villainous' idol group, like A-RISE to Muse, or Jupiter to 765Pro. Saint Snow is supposed to fit that role, but the rivalry is pretty much written out mid 2nd Season, and Ruby even makes good friend with Leah. So I 'created' (read: borrow) another 'idol' group that becomes the adversary of Aqours (and true to this universe, it is based on a certain group from a certain movie. See if you can identify it )
2. There is a drawing of Yosetsu, Hiryu, Kosei, and Sen burning the night oil doing something, presumably a class assignment. It's a really fun drawing.
As always, enjoy as much I enjoy writing it.

Aqours Concert
UA High School Cultural Festival,
Musutafu, Tokyo Prefecture,
November 3
Inasa Yoarashi, a.k.a. Pro Hero 'Gale Force' from Shiketsu High School, wondered how life would've been if he chose UA High School instead of Shiketsu. He scored the highest point during UA entrance exam, an impressive feat he was proud of considering he beat a bunch of talented students like Momo Yaoyorozu, Tenya Iida, Itsuka Kendo, Shoto Todoroki, among others. UA facilities were impressive. The buildings were brimming with hi-tech gadgetries. Fields were stuffed with realistic manifestation of urban environments. Even normal students from Shiketsu would go green with envy, even though Shiketsu High School stood on equal footing with UA in terms of prestige and reputation.
Yet Inasa didn't feel passion. He felt cold as he walked through the buildings. And to be honest, it was his general feelings toward UA High School. Cold, unappreciative, and ignorant. Just like the Todoroki's. Endeavor and Shoto were just as arrogant as Katsuki Bakugo. They were the reason Inasa chose Shiketsu over UA, because Shiketsu sparked his passion to become a Pro Hero. Shiketsu strived to make its students feel welcomed and appreciated. And for Inasa, who was big on passion, warmth was more important than prestige.
"This is a cool place to have a concert," Camie Utsushimi, a blonde girl from Shiketsu High School, commented on the place where they gathered to watch Aqours, one of the aspiring school idol groups in Japan.
"Meh," Inasa replied halfheartedly.
"Then why buy tickets if you're not… passionate… about the show?" Camie slapped Inasa's hand.
"I am passionate about the concert. I'm not passionate about the place. Of all the place they could perform, why did Aqours pick UA High School? Doesn't make any sense. This place is a dump!"
"It doesn't matter, we come here to enjoy good music, not sightseeing," Nagamasa Mora, another Shiketsu student that looked like Tribbles from old Star Trek series, rebuked Inasa. "Don't let your personal grudge with the Todorokis ruin the evening."
Inasa snorted sharply. He actually was impressed by UA ultra-modern facilities. The training robots were very cool. The stadium sound system was great, although it was more a credit to Present Mic than hi-tech electronics. It was just his personal feeling toward Endeavour and Shoto Todoroki that made everything about UA bad. He knew he shouldn't make decisions based on personal feelings, but he couldn't help it. It was the way he was.
The stadium light grew dim and the 9 girls from Uranohoshi High School took the stage, followed by Class 1-A musicians. Inasa wasn't a fan of J-Pop idol group like Aqours. He didn't have any expectation of the upcoming festivity. He was there just for fun. He paid little attention to what was happening on the stage, until the girl at the corner caught his interest. Her flowing wine-colored hair danced in the cold breeze, and her golden eyes flickered in the dark like two flints bursting with passion. She was the most beautiful girl Inasa had ever seen.
And just like that, Inasa's world turned upside down.
"Yabai desu wa! Who's that at the end of the line?! What's her name?! What's her name?!" Inasa grabbed Camie's arm while babbling rather loudly.
"Shht, Yoarashi! What are you doing?" Camie tried to pry her arm from Inasa's death grip. "Come on, don't make a scene!"
"She's so kawaii! I've got to have her name!"
"Of course she is kawaii! She is a musician! Get yourself together and don't embarrass Shiketsu!" Nagamasa tuned in.
"But she's sooo pretty! Arrgghh! I have to know her name! I want her name!" Inasa has lost all inhibition.
"Hey, shut up, jerk!" somebody from the crowd yelled at him.
"HEY! Don't hide behind the crowd! Come out here and face me before I kick your ass!" Inasa yelled back. "Is that you, Todoroki?"
"For God sake, Yoarashi! Shut up!" Seiji Shishikura, another student from Shiketsu, grabbed Inasa's collar and pulled him back. "You're gonna give Shiketsu a bad name if you do not get a grip of yourself!"
The ruckus quickly died down as Aqours members greeted the audience and introduced themselves. Inasa's heart skipped some beats until the burgundy-hair girl came forward and flashed her beautiful smile while bowing politely:
"Hello everyone! I'm Riko Sakurauchi. Hajimemashite."
"Riko Sakurauchi! What a very pretty name!" Inasa started pushing forward. "Sakurauchi-chan! Hey! I'm Inasa Yoarashi, Shiketsu High School!"
The crowd pushed him back and threw snacks at him. A few UA students already zeroed in on him, ready to activate their quirks should things escalated to violence. Nagamasa quickly tangled his hair on Inasa's face and dragged him back before UA students lynched him. "If you pull it one more time, I will send you home!" He hissed tersely.
"Alright! Alright! I'll behave!" Inasa groused.
On the stage, Aqours and Class 1-A musicians weren't aware of the brouhaha at the far end of the crowd. Kyoka Jiro led the band to start with a mellow tune, and the 9 canaries from Uranohoshi High School harmonized themselves into a hypnotizing song, Yume de Yozora Wo Terashitai, like nymphs that lured sailors into treacherous water. And that was how Inasa felt. The song put him in a pleasurable trance. All the animosity toward UA and the Todorokis seemed to dissolve into Aqours melody. And whenever Riko delivered a solo part, he felt his heart melted. He never felt this way before, and the feeling was intoxicating.
Capturing the crowd's mood, Aqours gradually picked up the tempo. Their songs became more and more upbeat, which culminated in Happy Party Train, a very energetic song that set the audience on fire. Just as the crowd thought Aqours would end the night with fireworks, Aqours hit the brakes and capped it off with a kickass rock ballad, Mijuku Dreamer, that sent the audience spiraling into an emotional orbit.
Donna mirai ka wa daremo mada shiranai
Demo tanoshiku naru hazu dayo
Minna to nara norikoerareru
Kore kara nanda ne otagai ganbarou yo
Donna mirai ka wa daremo mada shiranai
Demo tanoshiku shitai honto ni
Minna to nara murishitaku naru
Seichou shitai na mada mada Mijuku Dreamer
Inasa considered himself a passionate man, but he never felt moved like this before. The song touched places inside his heart he never knew existed. He felt his lids became hot and heavy, and he turned away from his friends to clear his eyes, because he didn't want them to see him that way. And it didn't help that Riko delivered her solo in heartfelt, passionate fashion.
After the song ended, Aqours left the stage in a rousing applause, but Riko and another girl stayed on stage to deliver an encore. Most of the crowd started to disperse into the night, and Inasa started making his way toward the stage. As Riko cleared the stage to regroup with her friends, Inasa made a dash and stopped Riko in her track.
"Riko-chan! My name is Inasa Yoarashi from Shiketsu High School! I am very passionate of your singing! Your voice is like Uguisu in the spring that warms my heart. I want to know you better and hear more of your voice. Please allow me to take you back to your hotel. You will learn that I am a very passionate man, and you will not be disappointed!"
Riko's reaction was that of terror, as if she was confronted by a big, loud hanyou.
"Hey! Hey! Hey! Back off!" Pony Tsunotori and Manga Fukidashi intercepted Inasa. "The show is over! Please get back and give her some room!"
"I just want to take her back to her hotel! What's wrong with that?!" Inasa retorted loudly.
"We already have transportation service! If you have comments or requests for Aqours, you can use their homepage, youtube, or twitter channels! And don't forget to subscribe!"
"I don't care about online channels! I just want to take Sakurauchi-chan back to the hotel!"
"No! Aqours is off limit!" Pony, who barely stood 5 feet, was not intimidated by Inasa's 6-foot-3 frame.
"Where the hell is Awase? Isn't he supposed to lead the escorting effort?" Manga groused.
"Forget Awase! We can handle this!" Pony wouldn't budge in front of Inasa's overwhelming body. "Please step back, Sir!"
"I mean her no harm! I just want to take Sakurauchi-chan back to her hotel! Why do you UA students have to be so uptight about everything?!" Inasa was not about to be denied. "Is that how you are trained to be Pro Heroes? What is this, DC Comics? Ask her yourself, if she's alright with me taking her back! Come on! Ask her! I'm pretty sure she doesn't mind! I'm a Pro Hero in training, just like you! She's safe with me!"
"Yoarashi-san," Shoto Todoroki intervened, backed up by Tenya Iida, Mezo Shoji, and Hanta Sero. "Tsunotori-san already said that the show is over. Everybody has worked hard to make this event happen. Please respect their boundaries and let them finish their job so they can rest."
The presence of Shoto Todoroki put Inasa in a bad mood. "Is it your hobby, Todoroki, to diss anybody that is having a moment? Trying to be the hero of the hour? Just because your Daddy is the No.1 Pro Hero in the country doesn't mean you have the right to boss everybody around!"
"I merely state the fact that we are all tired!" Shoto started to get irritated himself.
"And we understand," Nagamasa, Camie, and Seiji stepped in before things went out of control. "Otsukaresama desu! It is time for us to leave."
"We look forward to see you again, Shiketsu!" Tenya Iida bowed, followed by Shoto, Hanta, and Mezo.
"Same here," Nagamasa returned the bow. He turned to Inasa. "Let's go, Yoarashi, before you put more blemish to Shiketsu's reputation!"
Inasa followed Nagamasa like a puppy, but not before shouting a message at Riko. "I'll be in contact, Sakurauchi-chan! You can count on me!"
Riko pretended she didn't hear him and rushed to regroup with the rest of Aqours.
