Bellwood - Downtown - Daytime

Another day in Bellwood, the traffic is as annoying as it usually is, and the general mortality rate is as questionable as ever. We suddenly find ourselves inside the central Bank of Bellwood, downtown. The place was tranquil, employees aided visitors on their financial matters, the guard could be seen at ease. It looked like it would be another good day at work. What could go wrong?

A canister rolled past the entrance, past the unsuspecting guard, and unto the middle of the hall. The guard noticed it, and realized what it was.

Guard: "Flashbang! Everyone get down!" He shouted as loud as possible, but most people were too shocked by his scream to have complied with what he said.

A major flash of light blinded the grand majority of people inside the bank, including the guard. Two masked individuals run past the entrance, going into the bank, armed with laser rifles. One of them shoots at the ceiling as the crowd panics.

Robber: "Everyone on your knees! No movements, no funny business, you've all seen the movies, the shows, you know what this is, you know the rules, comply and no one gets hurt."

As the first thug commanded, the second one knocked out the guard and removed his weapon. "Now remember, don't be a hero, this is not your money, this has nothing to do with you, the bank can easily replace the money we are stealing, so as long as you play your roles, you'll be fine." Everyone in the bank complied.

immediately as he finished, a third member of the heist entered the hall. We couldn't properly see them, it was clearly an alien, they went past the two thugs, and into the vault entrance. "Let's get this done fast" one the robbers said to the alien. The alien brought out a strange device from the bag, and began cutting open the vault.

They were immediately interrupted by the sound of an alarm. One of the employees at the counter pressed the emergency button that alerts the authorities. "What in blazes are you doing?! I said don't be a hero, ya damned fool!" the thug shouted, went over the counter, and violently hit the employee with his weapon, making him fall to the ground, screaming. "We got a few minutes, tops." the other thug kept the crowd in check, gathered up, while the alien finished cutting the vault open.

Downtown Bellwood - Central Bank - Outside

Outside the bank, far off, on the top of a building, the ringing noise inside the bank could be heard this far, as a crowd spectated from the outside, in the streets that connected the bank with a park in front of it. Pedestrians wondered what was happening. Back on a building's rooftop, distant from the situation, a young woman could be seen scoping out the event. We get to see her face, it was Hope, aka Charmcaster, but she wasn't wearing her usual attire.

She sported a slightly similar outfit to her previous one, but she was missing her heart symbols in their design, however, in their place, lined designs were present instead, with what looked like the scriptures of spells imprinted on them. The outfit was now colored in a shade of grey purple, far more similar to her hair's highlights. this outfit was also hooded, and she had a cloth mask around her neck, which she could put up to hide her identity. Underneath it was the recognizable black turtleneck, with her black pants and boots.

She put up her hood, and her mask, which oddly made her look more intimidating, like some sort of ninja, or a modern ronin. The sorceress leaped off the building, making her way to towards the location the heist was taking place.

Bellwood - Other Side of Town - Day

Rook and Ben were patrolling around town, on the Proto-truck, on call, ready to attend any situations that were to pop up.

Rook: "So, Ben, when is it that we are going on this, 'Space Road Trip', you have mentioned numerous times." He asked whilst driving, paying attention to the road ahead.

Ben: "Oh right, I forgot to give you an update on that. Everything is being planned and going well. I talked to Gwen, Kevin said he could join, but we settled it out for summer because Gwen has to finish up Finals, and whatever other boring college 'responsibilities' she's got going on. We'll be out there in a month from now. Honestly, if you wanna invite someone, you can, Rook, there's room for more." He informed.

Rook: "That is good news, I must say I am excited for this upcoming adventure. I have never gone on- what do you call it... Vacation, I have not done that before."

Ben: "There's no way you haven't at least taken a break from work, Rook."

Rook: "Of course, I do take breaks, and I have taken what you call 'weekends', but back on Revonnah, it is not customary to take such long lasting periods of time off from productivity."

Ben: "Well then, fast food joints would definitely love to have Revonnahganders on their payroll." He joked, realizing that Rooks entire species are just the incarnation of workaholics.

Rook: "Although I am not sure who I would invite, I could ask my sister, perhaps, but she might be busy stationed back on Revonnah. The concept may be different to her. I will have to think on it, but thank you for allowing me to tag along and invite others, Ben."

Ben: "Hey man, don't mention it. We've been through a lot, besides, you're part of the family now." He pat Rook's shoulder.

Rook smiled, he was very happy about their friendship, and to be regarded as part of the Tennyson family. To think that at first, Ben was adamant about his presence, and almost didn't accept him as his partner, but now they are a formidable crime fighting duo, and 'awesome' friends. As he had stated weeks prior, it was an honor serving by his side.

The Proto-truck came to a stop at a red light. Silence filled the vehicle, Rook looked around while Ben was fidgeting with the Omnitrix.

Ben: "I'm starting to tell It's gonna be another slow day, and I'm feeling cravings for a smoothie" he said, beginning to yawn out of both boredom and hunger.

Rook: "You are always 'craving' smoothies, Ben, I am beginning to worry you have developed some sort of addiction to the beverage" he joked but also suggested.

Ben: "Hey, an addiction to smoothies is better than any other addiction, besides it's like, eating any food... But it's a liquid... Or something..." He started to think if what he said even made sense.

Rook: "I will have to disagree on that, but at least you're aware of your obsession" he poked

Ben: "Obsession? Hey, I'd call it a phase, and it's not like it's that unhealthy-" He was interrupted at the sound of the radio in the plumbers badge.

Radio: "Robbery in progress down on main street, central bank of Bellwood; Alien Lifeform is in assistance, caution, Reptomilian."

Rook: "Seems like the day just got- Un-boring!" he exclaimed, as he went full throttle to the destination, dodging neighboring vehicles on the road.

Ben: "We really need to work on that Earthly vocabulary bud." he said while being pushed back to his seat due to the current speed.

Central Bank - Downtown Bellwood - Heist

The bank had smoke coming out of it's roof vents, result of an explosion inside, near the vault. The three thugs came out of the bank, running, as pedestrians ran away from the scene at their sight. We finally get a full view of the alien accompanying the thugs, it resembled a reptile, wearing a mechanical suit, a Dome on it's head, and a mask inside of it to conceal his identity. The three of them carried duffle bags filled with money.

Alien: "We gotta scram to undertown, quickly, my aid in this endeavor will bring in plumbers, besides the local authorities!" He yelled at his crew while they ran for the park that was in front of the bank, across the street

Thug: "We'll take the same route like we planned! head to the sewer pod under the bridge, we'll split and meet you at the wearhouse!" He replied as they ran to their escape route.

Second Thug: "Uh, Mates we got-" They all slowed down and went to a full stop, at the sight of a levitating woman blocking their way. "Company..." The thug expressed.

A hooded, silver haired woman, with a long ponytail coming out of a hole in the back of her hood, levitated Infront of them, she went down to the ground and stopped floating. She began walking towards them.

Hope: "Thieves! Drop the money, drop the weapons- drop- drop everything! or face the consequences!" She exclaimed, not so confidently, almost like she was forcing herself, doing something she didn't quite know how to tackle yet.

The Thugs blinked twice and then burst in laughter. Hope was offended that they didn't take her seriously. "Listen little lady, that was pretty fancy and all but you best get out of here before you get hurt, we'll be on our way now." The alien said whilst laughing, mocking her, and they almost began running away, back on the trail to escape, as sirens could finally be heard in the distance.

They were immediately stopped by a considerably intimidating explosion in front of their direction, caused by a mana projectile thrown at them by Hope.

The Thugs turned to look at her once more, this time taking her seriously. She was once again levitating, emitting mana all around. her eyes and fists projecting the magic energy. "You know, you're right, it's not my thing, but everyone's gotta start somewhere." She said to them as she flew straight at them, and the scene was cut.

Minutes Later

Ben and Rook arrive at the scene, cops were already there, and it seemed like whatever happened was already resolved.

Ben: "What's the sitch Officer." he asked the chief.

Chief: "Tennyson, Magister Blonko, good to see you, you're late, everything's under control, the suspects, along with an alien, are under custody, all tied up over there" he pointed at the park area, while the three of them walked towards the spot.

Rook: "You managed to stop them AND the Reptomilian, with his level of weaponry? that is very impressive." Rook complimented.

Chief: "Actually... That wasn't us, apparently someone got to them before we got here. I actually thought it was you two, or the plumbers in general, but it must've been some Samaritan or Vigilante, and I'm saying that term positively for once. This isn't the standard Vigilante work I've seen before, they did a pretty darn good job. The suspects weren't all banged up or in E.R. condition like most times." He explained.

They went to a stop as they got there, the chief continued to talk to Rook, but Ben looked at the three of them tied up, but immediately the shot zooms in on Ben as he realizes instantly that the cuffs on the three criminals were made out of Mana. He immediately thought to himself that this had to be Gwen, as he didn't know any other one of the 'good guys' on his side that was a Mana user, sorcerer, or whatever they would call it anyways.

Alien: "What're you staring at you hairless ape?!" the Reptomilian shouted.

Ben: "Who did this to you?" He asked knowing the odds of an answer.

Alien: "Wouldn't you like to know about it, Plumber boy" the alien said as they all got ordered up by cops to walk away for processing. The alien being separated from the human thugs, by another Plumber agent on site.

Ben stood amidst the scene, thinking, as Rook gave the chief a handshake and departed from their report based conversation.

Rook: "I see you are already unto something partner."

Ben: "Yea, did you see what those guys were wrapped around on? They were Mana infused cuffs." Ben informed, turning to him with an analytical expression.

Rook: "You are correct, I did notice that while I spoke with the chief. I also began to suspect that maybe, Gwendolyn, under the guise of Lucky Girl, could be the one responsible for the apprehension of these criminals, which is a good thing." Rook replied suggesting a simple conclusion however Ben was not satisfied with that for some reason.

Ben: "Yea, you have a point, but there's one problem with that theory-"

Rook: "Hypothesis" he corrected.

Ben: "ok yea, Hypothesis. There's a problem with that. Gwen is studying for finals, and I know she's not the type to procrastinate on her studies by going out and heroing around, she takes that stuff so seriously that she'll let the end of the world happen!" He said as he thought about it.

Rook: "Then you should contact her to see if it truly was her doing. Gwendolyn is not the only Mana Manipulator in the world. Perhaps the chief was right on assuming the possibility of a new vigilante in town." He proposed as they began walking back to the proto-truck, shrugging. Rook wasn't too deep in thought about it since the event was positive in results.

Ben: "You're right, I'll just call her, but something about this just doesn't seem superficial, my Ben Senses are tingling." He said to his partner, seriously, even though Rook took it as a joke.

Rook: "Your... Ben Senses, are tingling?" He said, raising an eyebrow while smiling, as they both got on the truck, ready to fly home to avoid Bellwood's traffic.

Ben: "Yea, you know, like, a gut feeling. I just think we should totally be in the know of who's doing the crime fighting around town, make allies with them, do some sweet networking on the super hero business. I've been thinking we could totally use a third wheel on our team, think about it, like back when it was me, Gwen, and Kevin, we used to kick some serious butt." He rambled as an explanation.

Rook: "You are going to obsess over this until you know who this mystery crime fighter is, aren't you."

Ben: "Oh yea, Big Time." he grinned.

The Proto-truck drove away from the scene.

Later That Day

Gwen was studying in her dorm room, concentrating on her subjects, humming along as she heard music. Her phone began ringing, it was Ben. She answered.

Gwendolyn: "Hey Ben, gotta talk short, I'm studying at the moment."

Ben: "Hey cuz, I won't take much of your time, but listen, serious question".

Gwendolyn: "Ooooh Serious Question." She mocked jokingly, but in anticipation.

Ben: "Ok not that serious, but I need an answer. Are you by any chance, doing any of your 'Lucky Girl crime fighting adventures' over at Bellwood."

Gwen stopped reading, and faced forward, as if she was caught off guard. She quickly laid back on her chair, now paying more attention to the call and the topic at hand.

Gwendolyn: "No, I haven't done any of that stuff in like, 3 weeks? almost a month, ever since the whole Charmcaster incident on campus, and besides, Bellwood's too far away to cover anyways, why do you ask?"

Ben: "Well, today me and Rook went to respond to a robbery over at the central bank because some alien crook was involved in it, but get this, surprisingly, someone else got to it first, and it wasn't the cops, it was someone who knew how to use Mana, they used Mana infused cuffs to entrap the criminals. Just wanted to make sure if it was you." Ben explained.

Gwendolyn: "Huh, well no, that wasn't me. Maybe there's someone else who knows how to do magic doing the good fight, magic's not as exclusive as you'd think. Could just be a good samaritan, trying to be a hero, you know, we've run into people like that before-" she got interrupted by a loud crashing noise and a yell that sounded like Kevin, over in the kitchen "Agh! for the love of god-" the loud yell could be heard on the call.

Gwendolyn: "Kevin! You ok?" She started walking away from her room "Anyways gotta go, love ya" she hanged up in a rush.

Now that Ben knew it wasn't his cousin, he still felt curious to know who could be doing some hero work in town, besides him obviously. He was intrigued that they could use and manipulate magic or mana, whatever the geeks call it nowadays. He thought it was cool, he'd be delighted to have someone like that on his team, partly to resemble his old team with Gwen and Kevin, Rook being the muscle Kevin was, and this new magician vigilante being Gwen's resemblance, he was feeling nostalgic.

Ben: "Well, if it's not Gwen, then I'll eventually find out who the newbie is." He looked at the clock and saw that it wasn't too late (7:23PM) "A bit of Solo Investigating wouldn't hurt." He dialed up his Omnitrix, as the silhouette of a familiar alien popped up on the holographic display. He slammed on the watch and began to transform.

"Jetray!" He yelled as usual, upon transforming. He flew out of his house.

Nighttime - Bellwood - Undertown

In a wearhouse over at undertown, Psyphon was irritated, telling his goons that failure wasn't an option, and that the only reason that the Reptomilian got away from his wrath was because he got caught. Psyphon wanted to work from the shadows, he wanted to create a proper criminal empire, properly, this time, with a new approach, without Vilgax in mind. He was finally moving on from his former master, and attempting to be the master, himself.

Psyphon: "If we are to build our new organization here on Earth, we'll need Earthly funds, not just Galactic Credits, we have to think locally, and only then we will expand."

An alien raised his hand in the multitude of about 28 goons.

Psyphon: "Yes..."

Alien: "Why don't we just buy cheap weapons and materials with our galactic funds, and then sell them on the black market to the Earthlings at blown up prices? They can't tell the difference in value at a local sector, because the technology is unknown, and too advanced to them. It beats robbing banks and actually getting attention from the authorities anyway." The alien exclaimed with confidence at his boss and crew mates.

Psyphon: "That's... Actually a very good, and, intelligent plan- I am, very impressed, we'll actually do that, and you're getting a promotion!" He said in a rare showcase of gratitude whilst smiling.

The crowd of criminals all began to applaud as the alien that got promoted sat there in gratitude, a little embarrassed at the attention he was getting and smiling.

"That won't be happening!" A female voice shouted from the ceiling railings of the wearhouse. All the aliens looked up as the feminine silhouette jumped down on the middle of the group, being surrounded.

Hope: "Hello there." she greeted, ironically, upon landing and recovering her composure, standing up.

Psyphon: "Intruder! State your business!" Psyphon demanded, pointing at the mystery woman who barged in on his hideout.

Hope: "I am here to put YOU out of business, that's my business." She yelled back, confidently.

Psyphon: "What're you a plumber? I take it you're the one that stopped our bank heist earlier today... Surprised to meet you this quickly. It's good to have you here, seeing as it gives us the perfect opportunity, to put a stop to any future interruptions! Get her boys!" He yelled at his goons to attack Charmcaster.

Charmcaster braced herself as Psyphon's henchmen charged at her. She jumped up on the air, her hands began to illuminate with Mana. She formed a mana based shield in one hand, and a lasso in another. She landed gracefully away from the multitude of different alien races working for Psyphon.

They all stood at a standoff. Charmcaster made a fighting pose. "Alright... no going overboard, just like the doctor said." she whispered to herself.

One goon came in running close enough to attempt a punch, she dodged and hit him once, with extreme precision, in a vulnerable spot: what seemed to be his neck, forcing him to go unconscious, dropping to the floor, sliding away.

Another came running from the side, and she whipped at him with her magic lasso, it wrapped around the alien's waist, and she motioned it to unravel, making him spin out of control and hit a wall, hard, he's knocked out cold.

Four of them charge simultaneously, but she swiftly beats three of them in melee combat without the use of magic. The sorceress hits the last one with her shield, changing the form of her lasso into that of a sturdy baton, and bonked the alien unconscious.

The brawl continued as all of the remaining goons charged, but soon enough, the group that was comprised of nearly 30 individual members, was being picked off by their intruder, more than half already put to a rest after a major beat down.

Charmcaster continued to block and slash her attackers with various move sets, depending on the goon's moves against her. It was almost like she was holding back on her true power, fighting them at their own level.

Psyphon: "Well this is not looking good at all" He decided to put matters into his own hands and defend the remaining members of his organization, and fight this mysterious witch, himself. He jetpacked his way to her. "You wanna sink down a sailing ship, you gotta take out it's Captain" He randomly said, immediately starting to shoot his wrist lasers at Charmcaster.

Charmcaster put up a Mana shield similar to what Gwen always uses to defend herself. It effectively protected her from the blasts. She groaned.

"Let's Dance, Captain!" She exclaimed.

Outside the Wearhouse's Location - Undertown - Nighttime

Ben was flying around Undertown as Jetray, in hopes of finding any activity, hoping that if he did, he'd somehow find his mystery crime crusader, suspected from the day's events.

Ben: "If I ever wanna find crime, just start looking in the underworld..." He thought to himself.

A sound of a wall and glass breaking down nearby alerted him. Someone, an alien, had been thrown out a window, one of Psyphon's goons. He began limping away from the area. Two other associates jumped out and ran away.

"Bingo" Ben said to himself. He flew straight to the Wearhouse as Jetray. He walked through the hole in the wall, still hearing a massive commotion, and blaster fire. He sees the room, it's filled with at least 20 of Psyphon's goons knocked out cold.

In it's center, was Psyphon, fighting off a mysterious hooded girl, he assumed. He saw she was using Mana! "Jackpot, found them! Haha!" He said to himself.

He immediately flew in and started helping her fighting Psyphon, he zapped him away. Psyphon's body is sent flying, slamming into a wall, due to Jet-ray's laser. Charmcaster was caught off guard, as she turned her head to look at Ben Tennyson. She got nervous, she couldn't give herself away. Despite her mysterious change in character, she was still a criminal, an escapee, and by the fact that Gwendolyn hadn't come looking for her yet, she assumed it was because she didn't even know she was missing from her bag's imprisonment.

Ben flew closer to her and smiled. "Hey- I'm here to help, nice to meet you by the way, I'm Ben Tennyson, you've probably heard of me." He greeted awkwardly.

Charmcaster was surprised he didn't recognize her, although her face was covered, she thought her hair and eye of Horus makeup on her eyes would be a dead giveaway but she underestimated how oblivious this boy was.

She simply nodded and slightly bow down, trying to avoid having to talk.

"Tennyson!" A yell caught them off guard, it was Psyphon, recovered from the previous hit. "Should've known you were in on this! I will not go down tonight, my empire will take it's roots! I will be the successor to Vilgax, I will carry his name in glory and become master! I will-" he gets interrupted by Ben

Ben: "Ok dude I get it, you're ambitious, but you should've sticked to Plumbing for a living, I hear Bill Gacks is still hiring!" He mocked him.

Psyphon: "Foolish as ever..." He said as he threw a device on the floor. It flashed on impact, releasing smoke as well. Psyphon got away, they both could hear his jetpack's hum fade away in the distance. Ben regained his vision.

Ben: "Well, typical mob boss move to run away and leave his men behind. We should probably track him down- hey where'd you-?" He looked around to see where his potential new friend had gone.

Charmcaster was up on the railings above, she turned around to look down at Ben on the main floor, she winked at him before flying out the window using Mana propulsion.

"Well, that was cool." Ben complimented. He transformed back to normal.

Ben was left behind on the Wearhouse, realizing he now had to call Plumber HQ in order to clean up this mess and pick up all these thugs. He wouldn't be able to catch up with the mystery lady.

Ben: "Ah, right, these guys. Man... It's gonna be a long night..." As he complained, he looked around at the state of the thugs. "Jeez, I think this is what the chief meant by that standard Vigilante work he was talking about." Ben mentioned, in reference to the pained state of the goons.

One of Psyphon's thugs tried to get up, raising his head from the floor. "I was... going to get... promoted..." he groaned in pain, and fell down again in defeat.

40 minutes later - Undertown - Wearhouse

The Plumbers came to recover the criminal group. Rook was also there to hear out Ben's report of events. The thugs were being sent to the back of transports, some were being put up in beds, seeing as they were still unconscious.

Rook: "Your new friend left us a physical file, full of evidence relating to Psyphon's plans, enough to justify putting all his associates behind bars, no Galvan lawyer could object to this case." He notified Ben, walking up to him.

Ben: "Yea, but Psyphon's still out there, and with that guy's level of commitment, he'll gather up a bigger crew than before. Our mystery heroine is still out there chasing him too, she needs my help." Ben said pointing at the window where Charmcaster left.

Rook: He raised an eyebrow "She needs your help? or You want to help her?" He teased Ben "The Vigilante seemed to have things under control, from what you told me, if anything, your arrival caused Psyphon to retreat." He debated.

Ben: "Touche Rook, but I'm still interested in her- I mean, not in her, what she's doing, the crime fighting... I'm interested in helping out" He awkwardly explained, having slipped up.

Rook: "Ah yes, very professional." He kept teasing Ben about his intentions. "This is definitely not primarily an attempt to recruit her." He joked.

Ben: "Oh shut up" he exclaimed, smiling. "So, you gonna help me or what? She's still tied to this case, and we need to detain Psyphon for his plotting, so..."

Rook: "Of course, I'll be waiting for you tomorrow at Plumber HQ throughout the day." He agreed, whilst they walked out of the wearhouse.

Ben: "Awesome. Finally, some action before we go on vacation."

Somewhere - Ledgerdomain - Hope's Hideout

Charmcaster teleported back to her realm. She was now near a pretty little cabin, floating in a big rock in Ledgerdomain, the place was full of vegetation, like a garden. It was her new home, in contrast to her previous mighty castle, this display of simplicity signified a more humble progress in her character. She stepped inside her little house, it was decorated neatly, with magical items and collectibles being displayed all around, and oddly designed furniture, very contemporary at its most distinct aspect.

She sat down on a chair, settling a book on the table, opening and passing by it's pages until she got to the section she was searching for. It was an agenda, she had written many tasks in it.

Charmcaster check marked a few of the written 'to do's' off the list. She read one that was in between a few, it read as 'Reconcile with Uncle' she sighed "No, not yet, I need more thought put into that one, more time." she continued reading, and saw another task she had written 'make peace with old foes' - "This one's probable" She said to herself.

Hope got up, went to the porch, sat in a glowing rocking chair. She stared into the endless scope of Ledgerdomain, meditating. "I will live up to the name you have given me, Father... I will not dishonor you, never again..." A tear fell from her eyes. She remained there, resting, planning her next course of action.
