Suppressed Memories

It was 4:30 in the morning. Everyone was asleep in the Wakowski household, Knuckles in his hammock, Tails in his half bunk bed-half desk, and Sonic in his racecar bed. He was sound asleep in bed, having a peculiar dream.

Sonic was his younger self, before Longclaw sent him to earth and was running through the trees much to Longclaw's protests. He was laughing, having fun, until he heard a squeal. He immediately came to a stop and surveyed the area, looking for someone in danger. He spotted a small pink hedgehog being dangled by her quills by a bigger, meaner looking alligator.

"Let me go! I didn't do anything wrong, just let me go!" the girl screamed and tied kicking the boy but failed. He raised her up so she directly faced him, looking her in the eyes, "your kind has magic powers, people would pay a lot of money just to observe one of you rats." She trembled in fear at that, "y-you're gonna sell me?!" "Bingo! Man, you hedgehogs aren't all that stupid after all!"

Sonic, still standing away from the situation, had enough. He started walking towards the scene and swiftly ran himself in front of the alligator. "Hey! Put her down jerk!"

The bully was stunned for a split second, then grew a mischievous smirk, "so...now I got TWO rats I can sell! Jackpot!" He went to grab Sonic but instead just grasped the air as Sonic sped to grab the girl, sit her safely down, and hop on the boy's back.

"Huh!-why you little-!" his sentence was stopped when he saw a tall figure behind him. Longclaw had caught up with the blue blur and was now looking very intimidatingly at the alligator. "I don't know what's going on here but you better run with your tail between your legs if you think you're gonna be selling ANY hedgehogs.

He recognized Longclaw as one of the Owl Warriors, they weren't a foe to be messed with, especially if all you are is a teenage boy with no real fighting experience. He immediately started making excuses, " m-miss Owl Warrior! I...uh...I was just making sure these two got home safely! You know how kids can b-" He was shushed, " I heard the commotion, excuses won't save you. I suggest you go home."

He instantly ran calling for his mom. Sonic and the girl were swept up by Longclaw and were taken back to their home. Sonic looked over to the girl and blushed a little, he'd never seen anybody from his own kind, let alone a female. He gave a nervous smile and chuckled, "so, uh, I'm Sonic! Sonic the hedgehog! And you are?" he twirled is hand around, bowed, and held his hand out to her.

When caught sight of her face, she had an awed look on her just stood there, mouth agape and a twinkle in her eyes. "You-you saved me...I don't know how I could ever repay you! Nobody's ever helped me before." she said as tears started to well up in her eyes.

"Of course! Us hedgehogs gotta stick together! Things are pretty scary out there, it's A good thing I got there when I did-" he was cut off by being tackle hugged and fell to the floor. The girl had a hug that could kill, but sonic just tried his best to hug back, thinking it'd comfort the girl. She eventually let go and looked at him, wiping the tears from her eyes, "you wanna be friends? I don't have any friends, in fact you're the first nice person I've met." Sonic was gonna accept but then he remembered that he still didn't know her name. "I'd love to be friends, but I still don't know what to call you other than 'girl'."

Her face turned red and she had an embarrassed look on her face, "I'm sorry! My name is A-"

Sonic was awoken from his dream by the sound of footsteps downstairs. His first thought was who was that girl? She seemed so...familiar. If only he had dreamt long enough to know her name, he would know who she is.

He then looked over to the alarm clock beside his bed. It was 5:09 a.m., those footsteps he heard were probably Tom's, he usually gets up with Maddie to help her get ready for work. He decided he'd stay in bed and look at stuff on his phone for a while.

"Sonic! Breakfast is ready!" called Tom from downstairs. Sonic put his phone down on his nightstand and ran downstairs. He swerved into the dinning room and hopped into one of the chairs. In front of him, to his delight, was a plate of waffles with strawberries on top. For some odd reason, they reminded him of his dream, more specifically of the girl he saw. As he began to dig into his food, Tails and Knuckles took seats beside him.

Tom sat the last plate of food, his, down at that table and sat. "So, did you guys sleep well?" Knuckles was first to answer, "I slept well as always, like a rock. Nothing can disturb me from sleep, not even the chirping of morning birds!" He slammed his fist onto the table with a prideful look on his face while Tails glared at him. "I'm glad you slept good, I couldn't hardly sleep because of your loud snoring. It sounded like a freight train!" Tom gave Tails an apologetic look, "I take you didn't sleep well..." Tails only huffed.

"You're being uncharacteristically quiet over there, Sonic. Do you sleep well?" Tom said as he looked over at Sonic, picking at his food absent mindedly. He was deep in thought, wracking his brain for who that girl in his dream could've been. "Hello? Earth to Sonic!" Tails said as he waved a hand in front of Sonic's face, snapping him out of his daze. "Huh-wuh! What was the question?!" Tom looked at Sonic with a slightly worried look, "you okay buddy? You seemed lost there for a minute."

Sonic shrugged, "sorry, I was justified can't stop thinking about this dream I had last night. I was back in out home world and I was my younger self, before I ever came here." Everyone seemed to turn their attention to him, intrigued. He continued, "I saw this girl being kidnapped by some mean teenager and I saved her. Then when we went back to my home, she was gonna tell me her name but I woke up before I heard it. The weird part is...she seemed familiar to me, like I've met her before..."

Tails took this information and with his brain, tried to give some insight, "well, you can only see people in your dreams that you've met in real life, so there's A possibility that you've met her before...it might sound crazy but...it couldn't been a deep rooted memory you forgot, maybe your brain suppressed it for some reason." Sonic thought about it, it could be true, but why would he have suppressed it? It wasn't a bad memory, at least not from what he'd seen.

The idea was something he'd hang onto, maybe that night he'd get to continue that dream. At least, he hoped he would, or maybe he'll dream of another memory of her, maybe it'd reveal what happened. He doesn't remember her being around when he left for earth, so where was she? WHO was she?

Sonic had fallen back into his own thoughts again and instead of snapping him out of it this time, they just went on eating their breakfast, they knew he had a lot on his mind.

So...what do you think so far? Who is this ~mysterious~ girl in Sonic's dream? Will he dream of her again? Or find out her identity and why he remembers her? Stay tuned to find out!

I plan on this being an actual ongoing story, the things that I've posted so far are sorta standalone things or I just don't know how to continue them, but this one I have a petty good story outline for it and I feel confident enough to want to make an actual story. Also this is just an idea of how Sonic and Amy know each other in the SCU, I doubt it'd actually be written like this lol

Anyways, please feel free to critique! I'm still a newbie so advice would be appreciated ^^
