A/N: I do not own Star Wars

Chapter 1: The Proposition

Tatooine, 11 years after the Clone Wars.

The Tantive IV landed on Tatooine, the large desert planet in the Outer Rim, and two senators, Mon Mothma and Bail Organa came out. They were approaching the entrance to the palace of the most powerful figure on Tatooine – crime lord Jabba the Hutt.

They were greeted by a male Twi'lek in dark robes, with two Gamorrean guards standing behind him. Despite greeting them, the Twi'lek, Jabba's major-domo Bib Fortuna, sneered, revealing his horrible teeth. Mon Mothma shuddered in disgust, while Bail Organa tried to remain calm.

"We are Senators Organa and Mothma of Alderaan and Chandrila. We are here to discuss business negotiations with your master." Bail told the Twi'lek. Bib nodded and motioned for the two humans to follow him. Soon, they arrived to the throne hall filled with mercenaries, bounty hunters, smugglers and other criminals as courtesan girls walked around in their bikinis.

"Chut-chut, sena. Choy kavaa che uba? (Greetings, senators. What can I do for you)" the Hutt greeted them in Huttese as he sat on his throne as usual. Salacious was looking at the two senators with curiosity.

"Greetings, mighty Jabba." Bail answered. "I, the representative of Alderaan, and Senator Mothma, came to offer a deal with you."

"Though, it would be better to discuss it in private." Mothma added as she looked at the gangsters surrounding them. Jabba nodded and barked an order. Soon, the whole throne hall was empty safe for the Hutt, his protocol droid and the two guests. The doors were closed and guards were placed outside. Jabba was confident that the two will not try to kill him, for they were unarmed after Bib Fortuna confirmed it when he ordered to search the two senators.

"Choy sa bargon do, ee yalo?" Jabba asked.

"The Exalted One asks what your bargain is?" the protocol droid translated.

"Mighty Jabba," Bail began explaining. "Everything what we say now is strictly confidential. You see the atrocities and evils the Empire is committing."

"We," Bail looked at Mon Mothma. "are a faction of people that see this and try our best to fight back. We are the followers of the Republic and its principles. We remember of your aid to the Republic during the Clone Wars. Now, the Empire has forgotten about your services. You are not only the most powerful crime lord in the Hutt Cartel, but you are one of the most powerful and influential mob bosses in the galactic criminal underworld. We ask you to join our Rebel Alliance. We can use your money and influence in the underworld to overthrow the Emperor."

Once Organa finished, Jabba roared with laughter.

"Eh ma kee ma tu-tu, Empira poo pah ne che copah?" Jabba asked.

"Mighty Jabba wonders why shall join you, not sell you to the Empire for a better price?"

"I understand your thoughts." Mon Mothma spoke this time instead of Organa. "And so we offer something in exchange for your aid in the Rebellion."

"Since its creation, the Empire has been trying to seize your business, that includes your legal business. They want to seize full control of the hyperspace routes you and others use for trade. Right now, they are under the joint control of the Hutt Cartel and the Galactic Empire. But sooner or later, the Empire will try to get rid of you, whether you like it or not. Our offer is that when we restore the Republic, you will assume solo control of the hyperspace routes and the new government will not interfere in your affairs."

Scratching his chin, the sluglike Hutt was silent before he gave a response, with a grin on his face.

"Zeeba, beeska chata pa ta too wanga. (I agree, but on more condition)"

"We're listening." Mothma answered, nodding. Jabba, however, turned fully to Organa.

"Emeela leah beecha uba, Sena Organa. Granee partesey bunky dunko ba jee-jee kavaa jeeska. (You have a beautiful daughter, Senator Organa. We can secure a stronger alliance by joining our clans)"

Bail Organa's jaw opened once the droid finished translating. He understood that Jabba was offering him to have Leia, his 11-year-old daughter, marry the Hutt. While Bail was fully against it, Mon Mothma assured that they will discuss this with the leaders of the Rebel Alliance and decide on whether to accept the conditions or not. Bail hoped that the leaders will not accept it, but the Alliance was weak and it desperately needed money, weapons, and men.
