Hi guys, so this story has been playing around in my head for years now and I decided to try and get it onto paper. I've never done a story incorporating Vampire Diaries, so be gentle with me! Especially as I haven't written properly in years! EEEEP! So, this will be an OC+Klaus+Elijah hence the name of the story (Three Hearts One Soul). I hope you enjoy! This will be starting from season 3 just before the Senior Prank Night.

Shutting the truck door with my hip, I gaze up at the Mystic Grill. The paintwork, shrubs, seating and people basically were all the same as when I left six years ago, snorting to myself I shake my head. Did nothing really ever change in this place? I place my handbag over my shoulder and start to walk towards the doors, within a few seconds I already recognise people before I even get inside the Grill. That's the thing with small towns. Everybody knows everybody. Plus, everybody always knows your business. Gimme a large city any day!

The familiar ring of the bell above my head chimes as I push open the doors, a few heads turn at the noise, and I can see a few faces recognise my own. Uninterested in meaningless small talk with old acquaintances. Instead, I look around for a bubbly blonde who Aunt Liz swore would be here, especially considering that certain blonde will be going back to school in two days. After a few moments I spot the blonde. A little bubble of emotion gets stuck in my throat, she'd become a beautiful young woman. It'd only been a few months since I last saw Caroline at her father's funeral, but I couldn't really stay or properly speak to her then. But now … I'd swear it wasn't her. Only her cheeky grin, laugh and sparkling eyes gave her away. She was always a pretty girl but now she was truly stunning.

She, and neither Bonnie nor Elena – or a raven-haired man that was sitting with them – noticed as I wandered up to them. Too engrossed in something that Elena was saying. Rude. Putting both of my hands on the back of Caroline's chair. I smirk down at the wide-eyed looks both Elena and Bonnie give me now they've finally noticed my arrival.

"So, what's a girl gotta do to be noticed around here?" The quickness in the turn of Caroline's head shocked me. I wouldn't be surprised if she got whiplash! She was up and out of her seat seconds later before leaping into my open eyes which I only just managed to open.

"Quinn?! What are you doing here? Mom never told me you were coming, did Mom know you were coming? How long are you here for? Are you staying with us? Well of course you will be staying with us, you wouldn't stay anywhere else - would you? OH my GOSH I am so happy you are here, but what about your job? Are you on vacation?" Laughing at the bombardment of all the questions that she rattled off with easy I instead just squeeze her close and enjoy the moment. Back home with my family. I would have really enjoyed the moment longer, however the blonde was still rattling off even more questions.

I pull back from the hug and decide on the best course of action. Which is flicking her in the middle of the forehead. It was extremely effective when she was younger to get her to pay attention to what I was saying or snapping her out of moods. Same desired effect. It stops her from talking. In its place a small glare and a pout: "as if you just flicked me!"

A smirk tilts my lips as I lean forward to give her another hug, whispering into her hair: "missed you CareBear". When we pull away, I turn and give both Bonnie and Elena an embrace as well. Peering at all three of them it is hard to believe I babysat them all when I was the same age they are now and they were all ten and eleven year olds. Time seems to wiz by awfully fast.

Getting all the hugs and everything out of the way I now turn towards the dark-haired man who had watched the interactions without a word. Intense blue eyes stare into my own, his very own smirk pulled his lips upwards. Letting my eyes gaze over his appearance, a very attractive man but wasn't he a little old to be spending time with my girls. I play nice and pull out my best Forbes smile and extend my hand out for him to shake.

"I'm Quinn, pleased to meet you. I'm sorry but you must be new in town, I don't seem to know who you are?" I ask. His eyes drop to my hand, almost as if he was inspecting it. Strange behaviour.

"You're right, I am new in town. Damon Salvatore. And please, the pleasure is all mine". He replies placing his hand in mine, raising it up to place a soft kiss on the back of it all while gazing up into my eyes. Ick. No thank you. As subtle as I can, I slide my hand out his own. The three girls were glaring up a storm, luckily not at me but at the man who I now know as Damon. From their reaction I assume the man does this a lot. Lucky – or unlucky depending on how you look at it – for me I am used to this type of behaviour with my line of work. A good first impression is worth its wait in gold. Not everyone can pull it off. My attention was now directed at the three girls as I slide into an empty chair between Bonnie and Caroline.

"So how long are you back for?" Care asked as she turns her chair, so it was facing me head on. Ooh, undivided attention from the Mystic Falls winner. Can only be that she means business. I grab the attention of a passing waiter ask for a glass of lemonade then turn ready for my interrogation.

"You have me for the foreseeable future now CareBear. My agency went under, so I was out of a job" – I reply, stopping to accept the drink off the returning waiter.

"Was out of a job?" Nodding at Bonnies question I sip my lemonade.

"Yes, was. You are now looking at a reporter for the Mystic Fall's Daily, it's not travelling and that, but it'll be nice to spend some time with you girls and Aunt Liz". The girls all throw in their congratulations while Care squeezes my hand. She knew how much I loved travelling. But things happen for a reason. I smile at my cousin, but I cannot help but notice Damon's stare.

Before Uncle Bill passed away he had warned me about the Salvatore brothers. Including the rumours that surrounded their family, and the fact that all the town talks about the closeness of the brothers and Elena and what their relationship was hit my ears. Not that I judge. As long as Elena is happy is my main concern. But the rumours infuriate me. Like I said before. Small Towns. I hate them.

"Plus, I was always going to come back around now any way," I continue pretending I wasn't evaluation every move Salvatore was making.

"Why is that?" Damon asked, his eyebrows all furrowed. I lean forwards and squeeze Care and Bonnies hands while smiling over at Elena before I reply to the man.

"You honestly think that I would miss being here for all your senior year then you're sadly mistaken! I was here when you entered High School, I will be here cheering you on when you finish it!" The girls laugh and then all start talking about Senior Prank Night that they were doing tomorrow. They started fishing what I did for my prank night. I just winked and sipped my lemonade. As if I was going to give them ideas to get them in trouble.

The entire time the girls were chatting and giving each other better and better ideas, Damon kept silent. Only answering if he was asked a question. I kept my eyes on the three conspirators but that didn't stop the hairs on the back of my neck stand up or everything telling me to run when those blue eyes glared at me. I knew what my body was telling me, a predator was stalking. But I chose to ignore the feeling while the girls were around me.

Eventually Damon excused himself blaming boredom and that he had better things to do than plan a senior night. Bidding him a goodbye. The knot in my stomach loosened when he left the Grill. Turning back to the girls I could finally properly focus on them.

"So, girls, tell me what's going on with you?" Oooh didn't I open a can of worms when I asked that question. Evidently you miss a lot of gossip when you leave for months and years at a time.

So. Elena broke up with Matt. Then started dating Damon's brother, Stefan, who has gone on a long road trip and she's not sure when he will be coming back … right?

Bonnie has been studying loads and is now seeing Jeremy, Elena's brother. But Elena is fine with them dating/seeing each other.

And my favourite cousin, was dating Matt but they have broken up (I figured there was a reason as to why he was avoiding our table during service) and is now seeing Tyler Lockwood. I try to hide my distaste at that bit of information. The Lockwood's have always looked down on our family for years, and not to speak ill of the dead but the Mayor was a complete asshole and a bully. Here's hoping his son has not followed in his footsteps.

After a bit we all decide to call it a night, after all the girls have loads of mischief to do tomorrow and I am officially starting work tomorrow. Fun. Walking to the car lot I give Elena and Bonnie a hug and promise to see them tomorrow to help with their prank night in whatever way I can if I have time.

"You need a lift Care? Or did you drive yourself?" I ask, rummaging through my purse to find my keys to open my own truck.

"I drove, I'll see you at home yeah?" I nod as she walks to her car, having no luck finding my own I go back inside the Grill. Trust me to lose my own bloody car keys the first day back in Mystic Falls. Looking under all the chairs and table I spot them hanging off the chair I was sat on. Strange, I am sure I put them in my purse? Grabbing them I shake my head. If my keys could stop their disappearing act that would be great!

I once again leave the grill and start walking towards my truck when a cold hand grips my arm and slams me into the wall pushing all the air out my lungs so I couldn't scream. White fangs filled my vision while a snarl was all I heard…

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO whatcha think so far? I know a little slow and we haven't met the gorgeous men yet but we've gotta set the scene first! Please REVIEW I'd love to know people are reading and hopefully enjoying my work!
