Percy really, really disliked being a demigod. All he wanted to do was pass college. That's all he asked for but of course, The Fates had other ideas for him. " Cmon man! You couldn't have waited at least a couple milenia to escape Tartarus?
Anaklusmos, Riptide, was a flash of deadly gold. The celestial bronze sword tore through the hellhounds that stood in front of him. Percy grimaced as he thought about how this could have been Mrs. O'Leary. The Minotaur shook his head and bellowed, charging towards the Son of Poseidon. Sidestepping, Percy was quick to slash Riptide at the half bull, half man's hamstrings. He stumbled as the monster crashed into the ground before stabbing it in the throat.
"Please… By the gods, stay dead." Percy brushed off the golden dust that was left on his clothes before capping Riptide. To be quite frank, all he wanted to do was have a peaceful run. Was that too hard to ask for? "Of course it's too hard, every monster has a grudge on me."
You see, his day had started completely normal! He woke up early enough, okay maybe he snoozed his alarm twice sue him, and had a healthy breakfast. The night before Percy had finished all of his homework and got his bag ready for his afternoon classes. It had really looked like today was going to be a good day so what went wrong? Oh yeah, his friends had forced him to get a phone.
Going to the University of San Diego was really starting to be the worst decision he ever made. An angry frown crossed Percy's lips as he continued his run. The only reason he agreed to even go to college was for Annabeth. Everything had been going just fine and then suddenly, it wasn't. It's like they woke up one day and Annabeth decided that he wasn't enough. Percy didn't blame her, never would he blame her. Emotion's change, people change but after what they had been through Percy really figured that she was the one. Snatching his phone out of his pocket he let out a heavy sigh.
Jace: Hey Perce! We're gettin ready to head to the beach. Gonna join us?
A grin spread across his face, he'd already had a shit day might as well enjoy the rest of it. "Well, I wanted a run and got more cardio then I planned for." Shooting his reply to Jace, Percy shot off back in the direction of his dorm.
Percy slammed into someone as he rounded the corner. "Crap! I'm sorry i did–" Sea green eyes gaped down at the person he had just accidentally mowed down. The man underneath him let out a heavy groan, rubbing his lower back as he sat up. " I'll say Perce, you sure have a strong chest. " Blond hair and blue eyes grinned back up at Percy. How? When? What? But most importantly, why? "Lor- Apollo? Lord Apollo? Er- Apollo? Screw it, Fred?" Percy stuttered out, shuffling slightly. Don't get Percy wrong, he really liked Apollo. He thought they were at the very least acquaintances but he had just sent the Sun God to his ass. Apollo let out a loud laugh, shaking his head in amusement. "Just Apollo right now, Dad's pissed that Arty and I interacted with you guys during the war so he's forced us to become mortals until further notice. Say's that we need to learn a lesson." Percy wet his lips and thought about what Apollo had just said.
Being made a mortal didn't really seem like a punishment until he put it in Apollo's point of view. Apollo had always been immortal. Now that he was mortal, he was experiencing emotions and thinking patterns differently. Percy couldn't say he envied Apollo right now. If he was forced to play a god for a while, he'd be pretty upset too. Percy wasn't stupid, he knew that gods viewed and felt things differently. With that in mind, he tried to figure out why Apollo had decided to visit his school.
"Because Dad might be pissed but he doesn't want us dead. For the most part monsters fear you. I'm sure with you and Arty around monsters will avoid us like the plague!" Percy realized he must have said that out loud but ultimately decided not to say anything to the god.
Percy helped haul up Apollo before making a beeline for his dorm, Apollo on his heels. Slamming the door open, he made quick work of stripping his clothes. Percy pointedly ignored Apollo's stare and grabbed his swim trunks. Tossing them over his boxers seemed like the better option here so that's what he did. Apollo's eyes had not left Percy's skin. He knew why of course, all the scars were on display.
He got away with his friends' questions about them by just admitting his stepfather, Smelly Gabe, beat him. It wasn't a lie and he backed it up by supporting abusive kids all over the city. Percy also knew that most of his scars were hidden by the mist. Throwing Apollo the extra trunks, Percy slipped on a white cotton shirt. It felt nice on his skin. Not too rough but not too soft either. A perfect in between the two. "Cmon then Fred. It's beach time. "
Yo! Evandar here. Its like 11 at night here and I decided to play Author. I know the summary says that it'll be Artemis and Apollo but I'm mostly going to focus on Artemis. Thanks for reading, leave reviews on what I need to work on. ( Btw this is a teaser chapter and I'll make sure that there's more words in the next chapter. I want a feel of how people react to this book before getting attached. )
