Amity Park - 2014

Thirty-seven years, that's how long it's been since her heart stopped beating. How long it's been since her life was claimed by the inferno. But Ember McLain didn't really care. After all she didn't have much going for her when she was alive anyway. Ironic considering her afterlife was more eventful when it should've been the other way around.

All she ever wanted since she was a child was to be a Rockstar. To preform on the big stage and have everyone see her and chant her name. In life that hadn't happened. But in death she made that dream a reality. Unfortunately for her a certain goody two shoes decided to get in her way and take her off the air.

Danny Phantom. Oh how she hated him. She hated his stupid face, his stupid one liners, and stupid sense of justice. Time and time again he would constantly get in her way whenever she had a scheme going. All she wanted was what she deserved and over and over again he stuck his nose where it didn't belong.

And yet... at the same time she couldn't help but admire him. Not that she would tell him that of course. Maybe she was losing her mind? Or perhaps they'd been fighting for so long that she'd grown attached to him? She honestly couldn't say. All she did know for certain is whenever she escaped the ghost-zone to raise some hell he'd be there to stop her.

Kind of like right now. Her latest plan to brainwash the youth of America through the power social media had gone up in smoke. Thirty-seven years ago she wouldn't have even been able to fathom something like the internet and digital downloads, but teens downloading her song through apps and the like was genius on her part.

It's just too bad the dipstick and the geek squad found a way to break her spell and shut down the servers online keeping her plans afloat. To say she was pissed would've been an understatement, but at the same time she expected it. She'd have been a fool not too. In fact, it lead to a fight that she'd actually been looking forward to.

They'd been doing the same song and dance for the past ten years, yet somehow every time they took to the stage it felt fresh. They would banter back and forth while she wailed on her guitar and he tried to protect everyone. He was a true blue boy scout. And for some odd reason or another... he was the man she loved.

In the end their battle ended like all their battles did. She got beat and sucked up into that cramped thermos of his. Once again she was sent back to the ghost-zone to ponder her defeat and chat it up with some old friends. Ten years of battles and ten years of stories great and small. That is... until she escaped again.

It would be a full month before she found her way out of the ghost-zone courtesy of some incompetent fat man dressed in orange. Because he left the portal open she was able to serf her guitar to freedom. Away from the ghost boy's home and into the night.

Ember knew what she wanted to do, and no doubt the dipstick would be hot on her heels when she revealed herself. The thought brought a smile to her face as she looked up at the starry night sky. "Soon baby-pop." she whispered. "Soon."

The end... for now.
