Author's Note: Hello, and welcome to my first story! I enjoyed the manga and only know a little bit about the anime-exclusive plots. I hope you like my work. Feel free to comment on any mistakes I make, but do not just flame me because you dislike my writing choices. Also, if anyone can recommend a picture for this fic, I would appreciate it.

I rated this work M because I plan to have violent battles and have no idea what level of swearing counts as a T rating vs an M rating. I am not writing any lemon scenes.

I suppose I was inspired to write this by "A dragon a baby and a kitten" by NaxCa, though I believe that the majority of this is my own work. (I really hope so. I do not want to plagiarize anyone.) Without further ado, here's my story!

"Mya, so cute!" Millianna exclaimed. She was, of course, referring to Happy. She just loved the adorable blue cat from Fairy Tail.

Her, Shô, and Wally were celebrating the end of the Tower of Heaven alongside Erza and the other Fairy Tail mages. The group had checked into a hotel and ordered a feast, which they were currently eating. Millianna had her fill of food, then took advantage of this opportunity to get closer to the feline.

"Yeah, Happy is great," spoke an enthusiastic voice behind her.

"Eep!" cried Millianna. She turned around to face a fiery mage with fiery magic, her face turning the same shade of pink as his hair.

When Millianna first met Natsu Dragneel he had a cat mask on his head. She mistook him for a real feline, got angry at him when she realized he wasn't one, used her magic to bind him, then was tricked into releasing him when Natsu pretended to be a cat. The whole experience was embarrassing, but not the reason she was flustered now.

After the Tower's destruction, Millianna thought that Erza was gone for good. But then she saw Natsu, gallantly carrying the redheaded mage. Millianna's focus was initially on her fellow ex-slave but, after confirming Erza was okay, she got her first real look at the Salamander's face.

He was not as cute as cats were (nothing was), but Natsu's expression held a certain charm to it. Millianna was reminded of a hero from some stories the old mage Rob told before his death. Though, given that the Natsu the Dragon Slayer defeated Jellel the Dark Mage and rescued Erza the Fair Lad– err, Warrior Princess– he really was a hero to the cat-like girl. And apparently heroes were her type, because Millianna totally fell for the fire mage then and there.

This crush was why she blushed when Natsu began talking to her, and why her heart started beating really fast when she turned around and saw that he was so close to her, and why she froze up and started reminiscing about something that happened a few days ago instead of respondi—

"Are you okay?" Natsu asked, a puzzled expression on his handsome fa– no, don't get distracted again!

"I'm fine!" Millianna blurted. "I'm just thinking about being in Fairy Tail."

Natsu's mouth creased into a frown. "You're lying."

"No! He knows I like him and doesn't feel the same way!" thought Millianna, the blush fading from her cheeks as her mood plummeted. "Why would he, though. I'm just some ugly, no-good dark mage that kidnapped his friends and tried to kill him."

"You guys aren't gonna join Fairy Tail, are you?" Natsu continued. "Your pals started sweating whenever Erza and Lucy brought it up. Erza I get, she kept talking about training them and she's ruthless. But Lucy was just talking about Magnolia Town."

"Mya!" exclaimed Millianna. This was better for her heart but worse for the rest of her, not to mention Wally and Shô. Natsu was spot-on, and Erza might force them to stay if she found out. They were friends again, but Erza was still as terrifying ever.

"Quick! Brain, you have to think of a lie!" though Millianna, panicked. "I-I was just worried that everybody in Fairy Tail would hate me because I'm some ugly, no-good dark mage that kidnapped and tried to kill their comrades."

The dragon slayer snorted, then spoke rather bluntly. "Well that's stupid. It doesn't matter what you did before, you helped get Lucy and that water girl out of the Tower. Nobody in Fairy Tail will hate you, especially with Erza's seal of approval.

"Besides," he continued, scratching his reddening face. "You're not ugly, you're really cute. I'd bet that most of the guys would try to date you."

"Really!?" Millianna spoke eagerly, the blush returning to her face in full force.

"Aye sir," said Happy. Startled, Millianna looked down and saw that the blue cat was still in her lap. Apparently, she was so distracted by Natsu that she forgot an adorable feline was in her lap. In the back of her mind, it occurred to Millianna how big her crush must be for this to happen.

"D-does that include you?" she said timidly. She began rapidly stroking Happy's head to sooth her nerves.

"Sure." The stroking intensified as Millianna's face became luminescent.

"T-then I guess I should stop by Magnolia Town some time to take you up on that offer," she stammered, her heart bursting with excitement and joy.

"Aha!" shouted Natsu, surprising the girl. "You aren't planning to join the guild."

Doubts instantly began creeping into Millianna's mind, and she stopped rubbing Happy. Was the dragon slayer only trying to trick her just now? Was she actually ugly? Did he not really want to go out with her?

Natsu's face turned contemplative as he began talking. "I guess I should give you my address then, so you can send me letters. We can talk about ourselves and figure out when to have our date."

The fire mage's words (ironically) extinguished her fears. Elated, she responded "Yes!" then frowned.

"Aren't you gonna tell Er-chan or stop me and the guys from leaving?" Millianna asked, her grip on Happy tightening.

"Nah," responded Natsu. "I bet you guys have your reasons. Besides, you're not in the Tower anymore. Nobody can tell you what to do."

"Aye sir," agreed Happy.

"Thanks," said Millianna, letting out a sigh of relief. Then, something occurred to her. "We probably shouldn't tell Er-chan about our date, though."

Natsu's face paled and he quickly agreed, realizing how the S-Class mage would most likely react. He might like a good fight, but that would just be a lesson in pain and terror.

With that, their conversation came to its end. Natsu gave his and Happy's address (and she chuckled when Happy brought up how Erza had forced Natsu to memorize it after finding out he had all of his mail sent to the guild hall) then left to pick a fight with Gray.

Millianna smiled to herself. "I don't know what life outside the Tower will be like, but things are off to a good start, mya!"

And later, when Erza chased her, Wally, and Shô down to give them a proper farewell ceremony, she privately thought that Natsu's fireworks were the most beautiful.

Author's Note: I plan on covering their relationship until the S-Class Trials next chapter with a series of letters and meetings. I apologize in advance if the romance is poorly written (and if the romance was badly written this chapter). I have never written romance before. Do not expect much beyond the main pairing of Natsu/Millianna and maybe some adaptations of scenes from the manga. As for the adventure part, that properly begins a few chapters in.

Anyways, after that I intend to cover the seven years following Tenrou Island's disappearance. Most of the time will be skipped over, but I have two arcs planned. My ideas for after are, well, the bare minimum to avoid being called nonexistent. Hopefully I come up with something before then. See you later!
