Witch is the Wizard?
Chapter 1: Maelstrom

A struggle on an island of humans and creatures. The clash of dragons and other creatures faced three humongous beings: a green avian creature with matching crest and mustache white fur and a purple breastplate with other purple spots, a blue dragon-like creature with claws covered with cloud-like fur and purple breastplate, and an orange tiger-like creature with cloud-like mane and whip-like tail. Below them, a middle-aged brunette man. He and had two adults in white uniforms with "R" as their decal and an old gray-haired man in a lab coat. The gray-haired wore circular glasses while having a gruff mustache. They saw an orange dragon with tiny wings, a dark blue dragon with spikes on its arms and knees, a teal metallic robot-like creature and a small green monkey with a small bush on top of its head. A white cat with an oval gold coin in its forehead growled at the creatures smashing through a thick sheet of ice. "Why won't dey give up!?" he snarled. That's when a raven-haired boy and a yellow mouse with long, pointy ears, red circular cheeks and a tail shaped like a lightning bolt emerged. The raven-haired wore a blue and white short sleeve jacket and a red baseball cap with a blue circle in a larger blue circle on the white front.

"Team Rocket!" he called out.

("Release Meloetta!") the mouse squeaked. They viewed the platform of the middle-aged brunette surrounded by a red light and staring at a mirror while a humanoid creature floated while crucified to a rock. The green-haired creature had a white head and a black dress while the hair was propped headset.

"Dumb twerp!" the cat snarled.

"That's as far as you go!" an ice-violet-haired young man, wearing the white uniform, warned.

"Unova will be ours!" a crimson-haired woman proclaimed. "And there's nothing you can do to stop us!" To the boy and mouse with a large dark gray pheasant coming from the rear, getting to the humanoid creature was the only option.

"No way!" the boy shouted.

("You can't win this way!") the mouse snapped. The brunette sneered at the pair.

"Do you really think you can stop us!?" he mocked as he wove his hand to the creatures overhead. Below, four others watched helplessly.

"We need to help Ash!" a blond woman scorned. She wore a blue sleeveless shirt and slacks while appearing to have maracas in her hair.

"We know that, Cynthia!" a tanned, violet-haired girl snapped. She wore a faded white shirt and pants with pink sleeve ends and a pink sash around her waist.

"Our Pokémon are having a hard time with Tornadus, Thundurus and Landorus as it is!" a green-haired young man in a blazer-less tuxedo brought up. "And that's before their other forms!"

"Right, they're in their Therian Formes," a pepper-haired young man pointed out. He wore a white outfit with red linens and goggles above his eyes. "The Forces of Nature are even more of a force to be reckoned with." The creatures fought the three beasts before them as the boy above stuck with his mission.

"Meloetta's coming with me!" he shouted. The crimson-haired disagreed, her hair extending out and down pass her waists.

"Like that will ever happen," she scoffed.

"In your dreams," the ice-violet-haired dismissed. "Meloetta's vital to executing our brilliant plan!" A cyan ball bat with a black heart on the pink nose and a ghost-like creature holding a wooden mask howled to their defense. The boy heard enough and turned to the mouse.

"Now, Pikachu!" he shouted. "Use Electro Ball!" The mouse, Pikachu, gathered electricity and focused it to the tail. The electrical charge formed a ball of electricity that continued to grow and grow, bigger and bigger, multiplying its size from Pikachu's body. The boy seemed shocked to the size of the ball. "Pikachu!?" The cat gawked to the growing electrical ball.

"Tat ting's humongous!" he mewed. Seeing the size, the boy was ready to make Team Rocket pay.

"GO!" he called. Pikachu flung the ball at the platform the brunette stood. It make contact and blasted the platform, knocking the brunette off and the mirror facing him. He screamed as a light flashed his face. The humanoid fell from its crucifix, freed. The boy saw it and made the move for his pheasant. "Unfezant, catch Meloetta!" As the pheasant with light gray feathers around its face and the bottom half of its body brown flew up to the humanoid, a geyser of yellow ruptured from within the temple Team Rocket stood by and on. As the light faded, the platform was destroyed. Those by the platform writhed in pain as Pikachu returned to the heroic boy. "That was awesome, Pikachu! I didn't know you had that much power!"

("Neither did I, Ash!") gasped Pikachu. Ash looked around for the other two.

"Where's Meloetta?" he asked. From the smoke that still billowed, Unfezant emerged with Meloetta riding on its back.

("I'm here, Ash!") the humanoid cheered as she leaped into Ash's arms in a hug.

"You're okay!" he cried before turning to the avian. "Unfezant, you were awesome on that rescue." Unfezant cawed calmly as Ash turned to Meloetta. "Don't worry, Meloetta. You're safe now."

("My hero!") cheered Meloetta. The cat and the adults in the Rocket uniforms gasped to Meloetta being back with Ash.

"Meloetta escaped!" the ice-violet-haired realized.

"We gotta get her back!" the cat ruled.

"No…" the brunette refused. Everyone turned to the brunette as he pushed himself up with his arms. "I… no longer.. need… Meloetta!" He looked to the group with his eyes blood red and a red circle glowing on his forehead. Team Rocket and the old man gasped as Ash's friends ascended to him and Meloetta.

"Giovanni!" the old man spotted. "That mark on your head!" Meloetta flew to the young man with the goggles.

"Meloetta, you're all right!" he cried. Meloetta felt the embrace of the young man's hug. "Thank you so much, Ash."

"No problem," Ash smiled, but turned back to Giovanni. "But, this isn't over yet." That's when the Forces of Nature floored the flying dragons and the robot-like creature who had markings around its body with golem-like arms.

"Golurk!" the goggles man gawked. The dark blue dragon hit the temple next, the head of a hammerhead shark with a star on its nose and a claw on each arm below the arm wings.

"Garchomp!" gasped Cynthia. The orange dragon was the last to hit.

"Dragonite!" the tanned girl cried. Giovanni cackled, still feeling the control of the Forces of Nature.

"I feel… wonderful…" he sneered. "And I live… for destruction!" Red light imbued him as the Theiran creatures roared. Team Rocket were aghast to Giovanni's claim.

"Destruction!?" the crimson-haired irked. "NO!"

"That's wrong!" the ice-violet-haired scowled. "Our goal is to conquer, not destroy!" The cat turned to the man in the lab coat.

"Dr. Zager, what's goin' on with da boss!?" he questioned.

"I have no clue!" he shuttered. "None of this was in the data!" Giovanni turned to the Therian Three.

"Now, go and destroy all of Unova!" he commanded. Zager studied Giovanni's behavior as the Therian Three were attacked again by Dragonite.

"I have a feeling losing Meloetta might be the reason Giovanni is now on a destructive path," he hypothisized. Team Rocket looked to Zager, unsure of the new discovery.

"Meloetta?" the ice-violet-haired repeated.

"He's right!" the pepper-haired young man confirmed. Team Rocket and Zager turned to the youths as Unfezant transformed into a red light before it entered a red/white ball held by Ash. "The three legendary Pokémon control the enormous power of nature, but Meloetta holds the balance to keep the sanity of whoever summons Tornadus, Thundurus and Landorus! Now that Meloetta's not in the frame, Giovanni's been consumed by his own evil ambitions and now seeks destruction and chaos!" Pikachu squeaked to Ash to him nodding.

"If we can stop Giovanni now, we can save Unova," he assessed. Pikachu led Ash into the fray once more. Team Rocket weren't about to let Giovanni destroy anything.

"Dat's not gonna happen!" the cat roared.

"James, we have to save the boss!" the crimson-haired yelled.

"Right, Jessie!" the ice-violet-haired agreed as they rushed in. As they closed in, Ash saw the legendary Pokémon charging up. They fired beams of their own color while others fired beams of their own.

"ASH!" cried Cynthia. The collision of beams caused destructive explosions that everyone on the side took cover. A white light engulfed those inside the temple. As the lights faded, everyone looked back to the destruction that had been extensive as anything that stood was now rubble. They looked around, but there was no life that those in the air could find as the legendary Pokémon flew back into the clouds.

"Where's Ash and Pikachu?" the tanned girl wondered. To Cynthia, it was a lot to take in, but Ash and Pikachu had vanished into the light that had disappeared.

"No…" she trembled. "Not Ash… not him…" Meloetta trembled as well, seeing nothing but the remains of what looked like a war.

("Darling?") she whimpered, her eyes tearing up. Cynthia collapsed to her knees, about to cry as well.

"Ash…" she cried. "Why?" Zager looked on as he was pinned by debris from the blast that occurred.

"This cannot be good," he growled. "I need to leave!" As he tried to pull himself free, the green-haired spotted the struggle below.

"Iris!" he called upon. The tanned girl heard the green-haired and spotted Zager.

"Dragonite, hold him down!" she called. Dragonite sped down and sat on Zager's back before he could evacuate from the grounds. "Ridley?" The pepper-haired nodded to the idea.

"Thanks, Iris," he complimented before making his way down to the doctor. While that was going on, there was a struggle in the light over a new land with a large building far in the backdrop. An electrical storm billowed over a forest and before a large structure. Two women wearing witch hats and black cloaks over midnight blue dresses looked on.

"A maelstrom!?" the brunette and middle-aged woman noticed.

"This is not what I would've predicted in my life, let alone today," the blue-haired in glasses awed. "There must be a powerful being, maybe Croix willing to attack us."

"Do not be so melodramatic, Ursula. Right now, it's three kilometers from campus grounds, though I won't be surprised if it gains strength." Without warning, younger girls in midnight blue school uniforms and skirts watched on, concerns about the apparent maelstrom that hovered near the campus.

"Oh dear," a blond teen girl gasped.

"That's some electrical storm in the backdrop," a redhead teen awed.

"It's not gonna come crashing into us, right?" a ginger girl trembled.

"No worries, Lotte," a brunette girl assured. "Besides, Miss Anne and Miss Ursula are there to make sure it doesn't happen."

"I don't think it's an electrical storm," a bluish skin, mauve-haired girl teased. The other girls turned to the mauve-haired. "I think something powerful is coming this way." The others were curious to the mauve-haired.

"How do you know, Sucy?" the redhead wondered. Sucy grinned to the question.

"I feel the power…" she sneered.

"She feels a power," the blond scoffed. "I feel a nuisance." That's when the electrical storm flashed and one ray came shooting toward the campus ground. The brunette, viewing with her red eyes, wasn't going to wait for the ray to land.

"Lotte, Sucy, let's go!" she ordered before rushing out of the door.

"Akko, where are you going!?" wondered Lotte before they rushed out of the classroom the students were in. Akko retrieved two broomsticks by the entrance after a long run.

"Sucy, I'll ride with you!" ordered Akko as she handed one to Sucy.

"By your command, Akko," Sucy sneered as she took the broomstick. Lotte took the other. The beam from the storm crashed through trees, destroying limbs along the downward path. Landing, Ash and Pikachu emerged and rolled once. They came to a stop and remained motionless, Ash was on his side, sprawled out with his jacket torn. Pikachu had bruises around his small body. From the building, Akko and Sucy rode on one broomstick while Lotte was on another as the broomsticks flew through the sky. They didn't fly fast as they hovered over the trees.

"Akko, what if that light landed outside of campus grounds!?" shouted Lotte.

"We'll only know when we come to the boundary!" advised Akko. On her own broomstick and flying, Ursula caught up with the girls.

"Akko!" she called out. "Sucy! Lotte!" The latter two stopped their broomsticks.

"Miss Ursula?" gasped Akko.

"Did you see the electrical storm?" asked Lotte.

"Miss Anne and I did," Ursula confirmed. "We assumed it was forming into a maelstrom." Akko and Lotte's eyes widened with the thought.

"Perhaps with more energy, it would be a marvel to watch," Sucy snickered. Sweat drops formed from a sighing Ursula.

"Please keep your mind focused…" she tried to reason. "Anyway, you're aware that the campus line is close."

"We are," Akko acknowledged. "If it's beyond, we'll tell you." Lotte got her broomstick flying to the light. Sucy began to sing a little as Akko and Lotte looked down when the orange-haired spotted Ash and Pikachu still out.

"Down there!" she called before descending. Sucy followed suit and the three reached the trainer and Pokémon. Arriving, Akko hopped off as Sucy and Lotte dismounted and stuck the broomsticks to the ground. "It's not outside the grounds, so we're safe."

"Oh my goodness!" gasped Akko. "Help me turn him over!" The girls turned Ash over where they had a good look at his young face.

"A boy?" irked Lotte. Sucy grinned to the sight of his face.

"Not a bad looking kid to say the least," she commented. "Probably something you'd prefer, Akko." Lotte wanted to smack Sucy for her reaction when they watched Akko palming Ash's dirtied cheek as his cap was a couple of feet from his head. "You know that I'm not serious." Ash's eyes briefly opened, seeing Akko. His ears couldn't pick up any sound. She leaned in, an emotion overpowering her senses. Moistened lips, she was centimeters from Ash's mouth. That's when another broomstick got in between. Looking from the broomstick upward, she found Ursula with a stern look. Akko's face became flush.

"You're a witch, not Prince Charming!" she scolded. Akko jumped, her discovery absconded by her elder. Ursula looked to the boy and how bad he apparently appeared. "He's hurt, but it doesn't look too bad." Lotte came over with Pikachu in her arms.

"Miss Ursula?" she called. Ursula turned to the orange-haired. "This one looks hurt too and it was nearby." Seeing the Mouse Pokémon, Ursula adjusted her glasses.

"Unusual…" she awed. "But they'll need treatment ASAP." His ears twitching, Pikachu began to stir.

("Are we… alive?") he squeaked. The young women turned to Pikachu as he awoke.

"What was that?" wondered Lotte. Seeing the girls, Pikachu snapped himself alert.

("What's going on!?") he asked. ("And… who's got me!?") The girls seemed surprised to hear Pikachu speak up.

"That's… new," Akko shuttered.

"It is, but it's rather adorable!" awed Ursula. "Still, it would be best to get these two treatment." Lotte and Akko agreed, but Sucy came over and picked up the Pokémon from Lotte's arms.

"Maybe, but I wouldn't mind having this little rodent as my guinea pig," she snickered, making Pikachu worried. "It makes me wonder what kind of mushroom I could turn you into." It was enough that Pikachu blasted Sucy with his electricity. Shocked, quite literally as well, Sucy fell and quivered from the electrical strike. The others seemed stunned by Pikachu's retaliation.

"That mouse... can emit lightning?" gulped Lotte. "From its body?"

"I think that's enough fungus for one day, Sucy," Akko sighed. "Either way, we got to get these two medical help now." Ursula took control of the situation.

"I'll use levitation magic to bring him back to Luna Nova," she instructed. "Can you bring the mouse, Akko? I feel it would be more trusting in your arms than Sucy." Akko nodded to accept the task. She knelt to Pikachu's level.

"Come on, cutie," she offered as Ursula waived a wand that made Ash's body lift. "I'll take you back to get help."

"We'd like to have you around to play," Lotte added. Pikachu looked shocked to see his partner in the air. "Don't worry, Ursula is taking him to the Nurse's Office at the school. We will get you fixed up as well." Ursula flew ahead with Ash at a slow pace. Sensing trust, Pikachu leaped into Akko's arms. Lotte had her broomstick ready to fly. Akko mounted before Lotte took off to the sky as Pikachu looked back to Sucy who seemed to have recovered while standing up.

"Sucy may act scary," Akko comforted. "But she's well-meaning." Pikachu wasn't too certain to take Akko's words.

("Are you sure?") he questioned. Lotte seemed amused to Pikachu's reaction.

"I'm actually surprised that it understands us," she spoke up.

"Well, we won't know much until they get better," Akko promised.

"Right…" agreed Lotte as they flew on ahead. It wasn't long until the witches returned to the giant school. Anne watched as Ursula returned with Ash.

"There was someone from that maelstrom!?" she gasped.

"Two, but they need medical attention!" advised Ursula. Seeing Ash, Anne stood in front of the entrance.

"I cannot allow a boy to step foot inside Luna Nova Academy!"

"Your demand is not needed at this time when this boy could die and you not allowing treatment will be on you!"

"Tch. Just because you're the Shiny Chariot, it means nothing. Aren't you worried that bringing him inside will cause a firestorm?"

"Which is more important: a life or this school's reputation?" The argument got onto Anne's nerves but someone else decided to end the heated debate.

"There comes a time where pride of the school must be set aside," an old woman scorned. Ursula and Anne turned to a short and old pale green-haired woman wearing a red jacket over a uniform and a white scarf while her face had rectangular glasses. "Miss Finnelan, while this may be a school for young witches, a crisis must be treated as such until resolution."

"But Headmistress Holbrooke!" pleaded Anne. A rolling bed emerged with young women in white white uniforms dragging it along.

"Once he is recovered, he will be dismissed from the campus," Holbrooke informed. "This way, he'll be able to return back." Anne hesitantly nodded as Ursula got Ash on the rolling bed. The women in white dragged the bed back inside to start triage. Akko, Lotte and Pikachu soon arrived.

"Headmistress!?" voiced Akko. Everyone now turned to the girls and mouse arriving.

"What the hell is that!?" gawked Anne. Holbrooke looked to Pikachu in Akko's arms.

"Who's this adoring critter?" she asked.

"We don't know," Lotte shrugged. "But it did come with the boy!" Holbrooke saw the bruising on Pikachu's body.

"If it's with the boy," she studied. "I'll treat it in my chamber."

("And away from Ash?") the mouse gasped. This made Holbrooke realize something unique.

"Interesting…" she pondered. "You'll see what I have after I personally heal you." As Ash was wheeled into another room, the blond saw the boy with her sapphire blue eyes. In slow motion, a silent gasp lisped from her lips. It was only a second that felt longer than normal.

'Who was that?' she thought as she palmed her chest. 'And… what just happened to my heart? It felt… lively, even for that brief second.' Her curiosity had her start to follow, but she couldn't move her other leg, concern mixing her curiosity. All she could do was watch.
