A/N: What's up everyone! Got another story for you all! I just finished watching the 2003 MTV series. It's a really underrated take of the web slinger and his adventures, and is the darkest one out of all of the TV shows imo(I've finished this and Spectacular and watched some of the '81, Ultimate, and 2017 series but I still have yet to watch the '67 series). And I think it works here. Even with some original characters they fit really well with the series along with Neil Patrick Harris' take of Spider-Man. Although oddly enough out of all the original additions my favorite character(along with Peter himself) has to be Electro.

It's a shame that the series never continued. There's a few stories here and there for fanfiction but I can't really seem to find any. So I'll give it a shot at writing some stories. As said before, this is after the last episode.

DISCLAIMER: I do not own any of the characters(except any possible OCs) or the Spider-Man franchise! All rights go to Marvel, Sony, Sam Raimi and Disney.

It's been almost a month(1 day less than four weeks to be exact) since Indy's death at the hands of Spider-Man, something for much of New York to see. While the Gaines twins may have not succeeded in defeating Spider-Man or exacting revenge for their parents against Kraven, they inadvertently succeeded in taking down Spider-Man after all. Because of their mind manipulation, he was tricked into thinking he had sent the sister to fall off the rooftop they were on, only for it to be revealed to be Indy. To avoid hurting or killing anyone else, he chose to quit being Spider-Man. For good. But as his last act, he looked to take care of the Gaines twins and lock them up. But their next battle turned out to be their last as in an attempt to make Spider-Man roadkill, the sister of the Gaines twins accidentally drove the propane truck she was driving into a generator, causing the truck and the entire building to explode, killing her and her twin brother.

While the doctors stated that there was a good chance she would never regain consciousness again, Peter still held out hope that one day, he would hear her confident, quirky voice again. And he did so for over a week. Until the doctors finally decided to pull the plug, declaring her to be dead. It was hard for him to stomach. It was even harder for him to attend the funeral, knowing that he was the reason she was being put in a grave. He decided to leave a few minutes in and take a lonely walk back to his apartment.

But when Spider-Man skipped town, crime didn't. While there were a couple of times that he had the urge to suit up and return, he decided against it. New York did not need Spider-Man. It was a statement that he thoroughly convinced himself of internally. On the flipside, J. Jonah Jameson, Harry Osborn and much of New York weren't afraid to passionately express this thought.

His paycheck and his bills seemed to need him though. No Spider-Man to take pictures of meant no guaranteed paychecks from JJ and the Daily Bugle. He was already struggling to pay his bills and get good payments from JJ when Spider-Man was swinging around New York. An already rocky and cracked financial road for Peter was now getting potholes. And they were appearing in droves with each passing day. He got paid for taking a few nice shots of some crime scenes but that was all he could really muster. He needed to find something. And quickly if he didn't want to be out in the streets.

Peter was on his computer, looking at his bills and comparing it to his wages and his bank account. For what seemed like the 1000th time today. It was as if he was hoping that those numbers that represented his money would somehow be convincingly greater than the red numbers at the bottom telling him what was due. He wasn't asking for his account to be loaded like Harry Osborn or Bill Gates, but he wished that he would at least be able to consistently have enough to where he wouldn't have to worry about one day hearing someone sticking a note on his door letting him know he was evicted with each passing hour.

But he wasn't hoping. He wasn't about to hold on to fantasies, thinking that money would just fall into his account, thinking that someone would hear his plight and be kind enough to help him. For what he had done, he believed that he sure as hell didn't deserve it. And he wasn't going to ask his Aunt May for help. That was an instant no. He wasn't going to burden her with the responsibility of keeping him fed, keeping his lights on or even staying there. He believed that as an adult, one of his responsibilities was to make sure he could take care of himself and not worry his Aunt.

He continued to stare at the screen until he heard a knock on the door. "Hey it's me. You there Pete?" The voice said. Peter recognized it as belonging to Harry. "Yeah. Just open it." Peter called out to him, looking up before looking back at the computer screen.

"Hey Pete." Harry said after walking in.

"Hey yourself." Peter said still looking at the screen.

"Was just wandering the street, then I said 'Why not go and check on Peter and make sure his eyes aren't burned out from staring at that laptop screen.' And, well they aren't burned out. But it seems like they're getting there." Harry said in a friendly manner.

"Wish these bills would get turned into ash." Peter said, typing on his computer again to make another calculation.

"Come on Peter. The offer still stands. Let me help you man." Harry said, genuinely concerned for his friend.

Peter looks at Harry. "Look Harry. I get it. You're my best friend. You want to help me. And I'm real thankful for it. How many rich guys do you and I know would stick their neck out to help out to help a single poor guy. Besides you. And it not be some sort of act of publicity?" Peter said.

Harry points his right index finger upward. "Plenty, actually. Maybe not face to face, for both of us, but plenty. But I get your point." Harry said before lowering his hand.

"I got it Harry. I promise." Peter said.

Harry smiles and shakes his head before raising both of his hands in surrender. "Whatever Pete. Just... if it ever gets to the point where you're out on the street, you know who to call." He said. He thought about sitting down, but he decided against it.

"Anyways, I got early access to the new Matrix game. Was wondering if you wanted to join me in giving it a spin. It's multiplayer." Harry offered.

"Sure. Be right behind you. Just give me a minute." Peter said.

"Just don't stay in here for too long. I'm not going to wait on you all day. I'll play AND beat the game without you Parker. Believe me I will." Harry said, pointing at him, smiling.

Peter only replied with a slightly forced smile before Harry closed the door.

Peter looked back at the screen. He felt like he could see the mask of Spider-Man in the reflection of the computer screen. He sighed before closing the computer and left to join his friend to play some video games and take his mind off the bills.
