I have been excited to formally introduce Morgan Lynch and Seth Drake to the world since I decided one day that it was bonkers crazy that I didn't have a formal BH6 OC that I could use to play with my friends' BH6 OCs. And, with going back to school just around the corner, I decided I needed to polish up the first chapter and get it out there.

I really hope you enjoy this because I LOVE these characters. I would go to work, start the grind, and think of different scenarios for Morgan and Seth.

I love people's BH6 OCs, I think that my friends TheSparklyKitten and Brainyxbat have found really smart ways to incorporate their characters into canon. Even though I'm starting this story with superpowers and anti-heroism, Morgan's story isn't going to completely overlap with the shenanigans of BH6. It is partially about her finding her footing and trying to do what she sees as good in the world, it is mostly about her learning to live past the grief of losing her boyfriend Tadashi and grow and thrive after the loss. So there's going to be less action (still some) and more slice of life, and I hope everyone's okay with that. I mentioned my friends above if you want other OC stories.

Also, Derek, if you're reading this, I appreciate your recent comments and we're friends now if you want to be.

Finally, this is the updated version of the story, now Angel of Vengeance formerly Stardust Angel. I'm trying to get back into it so I can reach my overly ambitious arc 2.

"Are you even paying attention to anything I've said so far?" Morgan Lynch complained, leaning against Tadashi with a laugh. They sat on a grassy hill in a park, gazing up at the sky. Well, Morgan was gazing up at the sky. Tadashi could hardly tear his eyes off of her, memorizing her short tomboyish brunette haircut and the freckles sprinkled throughout her tan complexion.

"I'm listening!" He insisted, his smile bright as he snuck an arm around her waist, "you were telling me how all of the stars have histories."

"You make me sound so dull."

"Trust me, Morg, there's nothing about you that's dull." Morgan smirked and leaned against him, settling into his arms, happy, content to stay like that forever.

"All those pictures you see up there, all those constellations and stories," Tadashi commented, resting his head against her, "do you see us up there?"

"I see you up there," Morgan said, kissing his cheek, "you're going to change the world."

"You're going to change the world too," he always talked like that, he was always so sure. She blushed and tilted her head away from him, not buying it for a second.

"Yeah, okay, big guy. What do you see up there?"

"I see us. I see you, outshining every other star out there." He looked at her with such reverence, she wanted to believe him.

"You're too sappy, 'Dashi."

"I know. Isn't that what you like about me?"

"It certainly helps." They leaned against each other, their lips melting together in a kiss that only a person who has never kissed anyone could write. It was bliss, it was perfect, it was bright, and then it was smoke and memory.

She stood over the city, metallic wings unfurled, goggles fit firmly over her glasses. She stood on the edge of the roof looking like a steampunk angel as Broadway, Here I Come played in her head. This was suicide, one of two kinds. Either Seth's machinery wouldn't work and the second she leaped she would fall or, more likely, it would work all too well and she would sever herself from the person Tadashi had thought she was forever.

Tadashi had wanted to help people. It had seemed noble, when he talked about it, seemed so lovely when he told her about all the people he was going to provide for with his personal healthcare companion. She loved him for that and she missed seeing his light in the world. But she wasn't him. She didn't see a world where you could help people without some people getting hurt. He had run into a burning building to save someone who was never really in danger. People got hurt doing the right thing, got killed doing the right thing, it only seemed fair that the people who were to blame got their comeuppance as well.

Alistair Krei was a so-called entrepreneur and so wealthy that he could probably figure out a way to buy the moon if that served any purpose for him. He treated his employees like crap and posed a serious threat to the city whenever he released a new piece of tech that was clearly not ready to be released to the public. He seized every opportunity and didn't care who got burned on the way. The only thing he cared about was profit and it was disgusting.

But that wasn't why Morgan was standing on the roof, trying to talk herself off of it, her metal wings unfurling. She hadn't actually wanted to do anything until the buddy guards were deployed. She hadn't felt like anything she could do would have mattered until the anger was bottled up near to bursting. The buddy guards caused serious havoc in San Fransokyo and Krei had just gotten away with it. He had the entire city wrapped around his finger, they would buy anything from him, they followed him like he was their Messiah, which was whatever, but it was disgusting when it meant that there were never any consequences for him. There were people who were suffering because of him, people whose righteous anger was smothered by all the Krei simps who worshipped the ground he walked on.

Morgan watched a lot of drama videos. It was how she passed the time, she watched drama videos and put off her grief and her coding homework and bothered the one friend that had been her friend instead of Tadashi's. Most of the channels she watched had been art channels or makeup channels when she started watching them and then one day they snapped and decided that they were going to tell you why the world sucked, often while drawing or doing their makeup. After weeks of watching the world unravel without Tadashi, after weeks of putting off assignments to the last second and skipping classes when she could get away with it and signing petitions that would never do anything, after weeks of wallowing something inside of her snapped. Like the beauty channels she watched, she decided that she needed to deal with the drama now.

"Seth, we need to do something about Alistair Krei." Morgan flounced into her best friend's garage, her eyebrows narrowed and an almost malicious grin on her face.

"Are you finally gonna apply for an internship?"

"What? No, why would I want to work for that creep?"

"Oh yeah, I forgot, you failed the application process," Seth cackled.

"You shouldn't be able to fail the personality part of a job application."

"You answered the questions about whether or not you would be excited and hardworking in the field with 'not really,'" Seth pointed out, setting down their coffee and crossing their workshop to see what had gotten Morgan so fired up. It had been a long time since they had seen Morgan in any state other than beautiful apathy.

"I was saved from not working for that maniac, Seth. Did you see what happened with the buddy guards?"

"Yeah, of course I did. Different tech, same shit."

"I was watching an expose video about all the people who incurred damages based on the buddy guard attacks and literally nothing has been done for them, not an apology, not a gift card, not a single thing to save face."

"Wow, Morgan, you'd make such a good PR person!" Seth, still unsmiling, did jazz hands, "Are you going to tell me what you think Krei should do about that?"

"No, Seth. I'm going to tell you what I think we should do about that." Seth gave Morgan a very tired look, and Morgan stared at them in return. Seth had messy chin-length black hair, square glasses over blue eyes, a couple of bandages on their pale face, and right now was wearing an oversized black t-shirt and blue denim overalls- work clothes. Morgan, even for something as insignificant as hanging out with a friend, was wearing a vertical striped jacket that made her look even taller than she already was, half a foot taller than Seth's discouraging 5"3, a cute graphic tee with constellations on it, high-waisted jeans and a full face of makeup.

"Let me get you some coffee," Seth said with a sigh.

They settled into the corner of Seth's garage, both taking a side of the futon. Morgan remembered when Seth had announced that they were moving out of their parents' house and then put a futon in the corner of their parents' garage and kept their clothes in a filing cabinet. Seth held a mug that said "Insert Design Here" and Morgan held a mug that said "Error 404, Enthusiasm not found."

"What're we going to do about Krei?"

"You know Big Hero 6?"

"Yeah." It hadn't taken Morgan long to figure out which of Tadashi's loved ones had donned armor to save the city.

"They're always defending Krei," Morgan scowled.

"So we're going to attack Big Hero 6?"

"What? No." She hadn't told Seth who was behind BH6 yet, even though Seth had a casual friendship with Fred Frederickson. She would tell them as soon as they were on board with her plan.

"I just think that there should be some masked anti-hero fighting against Krei instead of blindly defending him. A Robin Hood." For the first time since they'd started talking Seth's dark blue eyes lit up.

"A guardian angel!" Seth sprung up, almost spilling coffee down their overalls, grabbing something from a nearby shelf. They held it out to Morgan, a grin stretching across their face.

"What is this?" Morgan asked, taking the figurine from Seth and studying it. It was an androgynous angel holding a flaming sword.

"That's the Angel of Death. One of my favorite figurines. You were going to tell me some sob story about some big bad thing Krei did and then ask me to make you some tech so that you were on par with Big Hero 6 so you could bring down the guy you hold semi-responsible for your boyfriend's death and I'm in. I'm building you wings." Morgan's mouth hung open as she tried to process everything Seth had said. She ignored what they'd said about Tadashi and focused on the important thing, her best friend was in.

"Do you think you could do anything about my vision?" She added, tapping the side of her glasses and then booping Seth's own pair.

"Sure, sure…"

"Alright, so here's the plan," Seth was hardly paying attention, they'd taken back the Angel of Death and had already started doodling blueprints in their sketchbook.

"I watched this video by this channel called Tech Tea-"

"-Of course you did-"

"-and it detailed a list of people who faced financial loss because of Krei's most recent case of carelessness. So, I'm thinking we have Krei pay them back. Except, obviously, it won't actually be Krei."

"That's it?" Seth looked up now.

"Well, yeah. I'm not evil, evil. I just want to hit Krei where it hurts and get people what they deserve in the meantime."

"Okay, so why do you need wings?"

"I don't think I could hack into Krei's bank account without getting a little closer to Krei. And since the whole job application fell through two years ago, it looks like it's going to have to be an ambush. Also, I never said I needed wings. You said I needed wings."

"I did, and you do. And… Telescopic goggles! You'll be able to see everything. And they'll obscure most of your face. The other half I figure you can cover with a privacy mask. You won't be able to wear your normal full-face of makeup but I think you'll manage to still look cool while you take down capitalism."

"Do I get a glowing sword too?" She asked with a smirk, loving Seth's newfound excitement. Seth's day job wasn't exactly the most stimulating so it was nice to see them get to use their talents.

"Don't be ridiculous. You don't need a sword, you need a skillset. If you want to hack into Krei's anything you're going to have to be a better hacker. Go do your homework, we'll talk about swords when we've both made progress."

"Okay, I'll do anything you need, keep me in the loop."

"I will. I'll let you know when I need you."

It didn't take long. Seth set to work and soon they were back to collaborating.

Seth and Morgan sat shoulder to shoulder on the futon, Seth peering over their sketchbook and Morgan sewing the wing attachments to a brown leather jacket. The wings were still in the workshop but it seemed like they were making leaps and bounds toward this leap of faith. Coffee mugs sat steaming and ignored as the partners in crime set to work, scheming and sewing in comfortable silence. The only sound was the clacking of high-heeled boots on the stairs. Neither of them looked up until Sadie Drake stood before them.

"Babes," Sadie said, absolutely radiating sugar and sparkles per usual. Sadie had long brown hair that was currently in a messy braid, brown eyes covered behind red, pointed glasses, and wore violet shorts with white dots and a black tank top with daisies on it. She and Morgan both managed to always look on point whereas Seth always felt a little lost when it came to style, not sure how they wanted to be perceived.

Morgan lit up when Sadie strutted in, as mimicking the former SFAI student was one of her favorite games.

"Babe," Morgan said, sitting a little straighter to match Sadie's posture, "What's up?!"

"I saw that this one," Sadie smirked and nodded towards Seth, "stole my sewing kit again, so I came to investigate."

"You sew? This whole time you made me do this when you apparently already know how to sew?"

"Oh, they can't sew. Seth steals the buttons, I don't know why."

"They're cool buttons, I use them as mini shields and accessories for my figurines. Anyway, it's your project, Morgan, you should contribute somehow."

Sadie's smile shimmered, "Babe, Morg, are you working on a cosplay?"

"Yeah," Morgan said immediately, "Seth and I are making a cosplay for one of those comic characters they like."

"Ooh, that's so much fun, it's so sweet of you that you picked one of Seth's favorite characters to cosplay. What do you need from me, babes?"

"I think one of your wigs would complete the ensemble, maybe the white one?" Seth remarked, smiling at their two favorite people.

"Yes! Babe, I'll be right back." Sadie was the only person either of them knew that could run in heels and she darted away before they could blink.

Morgan turned to Seth, barely containing her laughter, "Babe! I can't believe you two are twins."

"Why? We're so similar," Seth chuckled, rolling their eyes.

"Well, for one, she's nice…" Seth pretended to scowl at Morgan, leaning against her to get a better look at the jacket.

"It'll be done soon. Are you… Are you ready to cosplay?"

"I think I can do it."

"I hate that you can't really practice. You'll be on Big Hero 6's radar after the first flight. What if they get to you?"

"We know them," Morgan said, putting a hand on Seth's leg to soothe them, "they'll hold back."

The clomping on the stairs returned, and they dropped the discussion, focusing instead on preparing Morgan for her midnight premier.

Now Morgan stood, the stars stretching above her as she sought to join them. This one leap could change everything forever.

"I know you wouldn't like this, babe," she addressed the constellations, knowing Tadashi was up there, "I know you'd think it was wrong. But this is the first thing that's felt right since I lost you." She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and let gravity take her, hoping that she would fly instead of fall.
