Summary: What happened to Ga Eul and Yi Jeong between the scenes in Boys Over Flowers? What if the SoEulmates were the main leads? A series of one-shots for SoEul fans.

A/N: These one-shots may seem disjointed as I won't be rehashing all of Ga Eul and Yi Jeong's scenes from BOF. The majority will take place between the scenes from the drama and I will include summaries of the original scenes where they fit, but as a warning there will be gaps in the storyline. If you'd like the full experience, you may want to watch BOF again, hehe.
Episode 5-6: New Caledonia, Part 1
"The nightclothes in my suitcase can be a big help to you. Men tend to get weak when they're rejected."
Ga Eul stared at the offending object lying on her bed. She didn't want to open it for fear of what may lie inside, but she really had no choice. She needed to get to sleep but she couldn't very well sleep in her blue raw silk dress. He was surely teasing her to get back at her wasn't he?
- Flashback -
Ga Eul was still in shock when they disembarked Jun Pyo's private jet at La Tontouta International Airport in New Caledonia. Just yesterday she was waiting tables at a humble porridge shop in freezing Seoul and now she was in a tropical paradise. The air was hot and humid, the sun shining brightly on her face. She would have believed it was a dream, except that she was sweating profusely clad in her red sweater, wool skirt and thick black knee-high socks.
Looking at the others, she felt embarrassed by her state of attire. Even Jandi was dressed appropriately. She was wondering what to do with only 20,000 won in her purse, when the scoundrel who tricked her into coming walked up to her. He winked as he handed over a suitcase and told her to go get changed.
She was extremely suspicious of him but supposed she had no choice but to accept and go change in the airport bathroom. She set aside her indignation when she discovered the suitcase contained suitable clothing that fit her well. She was delighted to find that the beautiful sparkly sandals somehow magically fit her feet.
Even if this is a dream, I'm going to enjoy myself. Even if that stupid chaebol kidnapped me, Ga Eul thought as she gave into the beauty that surrounded her. She and her best friend, Jandi, indeed had a grand time seeing the sights and roaming the shops. Relaxing at the luxurious resort was pure heaven.
Then came the annoyance. Ga Eul had almost forgiven his trickery when he obnoxiously detained her, separating her from Jandi, and then decided he would be in charge of the rest of her afternoon. She was determined if she was going to have to suffer his company then he should suffer too. She took him up and down the island, and even duped him into following her to the top of a hill. Revenge had never been sweeter.
She was puzzled when they told her to change for dinner, but who was she to argue, especially when she had such a pretty blue dress to wear? At least the food was delicious. There was mouthwatering seafood, tender and juicy venison, and some sort of banana coconut pudding that was hard to resist even when her belly was full.
Just when Ga Eul was about to forget him again, he came and taunted her. The nightclothes in his suitcase. She hadn't given a thought to who had bought the clothes for her until that moment. She felt slightly violated. He even assumed she was a floozy who couldn't resist seducing one of the almighty F4. That conceited jerk.
- End flashback -
Ga Eul carefully opened the suitcase and poked at the top layer of clothes. It couldn't be that bad could it? Even thinking about the odious buffoon buying her something that would so intimately touch her skin gave her goosebumps. Taking a deep breath she started pulling out the clothes one by one. Then she saw it.
"AHHHHHHHH!"
#####
Yi Jeong knew the exact moment when the commoner in the adjacent bungalow found the sexy nightclothes he had packed in her suitcase. The high pitched screech was likely audible for miles around-maybe even reaching the nearby islands. Yi Jeong leaned back on his pillows and chuckled to himself.
He remembered how he had been prepared to have the girl eating out of his hand when he first met her. As expected, she looked starstruck at that small porridge shop, just like all the other girls he came across. Little did he know he was about to get a dress down from the innocent looking doe-eyed schoolgirl. He would accept nothing less than Jun Pyo's family's prized porcelain to deal with the sanctimonious bumpkin, though he kept wondering more and more if it was actually worth it.
He had been supremely annoyed yesterday. He had never ventured into the teen section of the department store before, except now he had to because of her. He was slightly embarrassed when the sales assistant gave him a surprised look, but she seemed to accept when he explained it was for his younger cousin. He even threw in something pink for the oh so virtuous maiden. He rolled his eyes just thinking about her.
He couldn't help himself though when it was time to select her underclothes and swimwear. He relished the thought of giving the sharp-tongued girl a bit of a shock. He got another questioning look from the saleslady when he started picking out lacy, sheer lingerie and a barely there bikini. To this he winked and gave his signature smile, after which she blushed and batted her eyelashes. His smile never failed him. Well except maybe with Miss Self-Righteous.
She persisted in acting like a tacky tourist all afternoon, oohing and ahhing then taking photos of every little thing. She smiled like a child constantly, her eyes sparkling. He would never admit, though, that the view from the top of the hill had been breathtaking.
Yi Jeong's feet were exceedingly sore that evening and it was only the first day of "babysitting". He swore she was trying to kill him. He was so tired that he had even politely refused the leggy model Amelie's company, for which Woo Bin would undoubtedly rib him. He felt oddly satisfied, however. Unable to stay awake, he fell asleep enjoyably imagining the tag-along girl's vexation. And perhaps thinking a little bit about her dressed in a certain set of pajamas.
#####
The next morning Ga Eul woke up refreshed thanks to the luxurious accommodations. Outside her window she heard the sound of the ocean and she excitedly got out of bed. She slipped a white terry robe over her pink lace-trimmed silk camisole and shorts. Last night she had given in to wearing them once she felt the deliciously smooth material. She reasoned no one would see her in it anyway and as long as she didn't think about him, she didn't feel so uncomfortable.
Ga Eul stepped out the back of her bungalow and walked down the steps dipping her feet into the warm clear aqua waters. She closed her eyes, smelling the salt in the air. She still couldn't believe she was here. She worried a little about Jandi and her complicated love life, though. Jandi's sunbaes (minus one) and their accompanying models had been nothing but polite, but she knew the two of them didn't belong in this world. She would have to make the most of it while it lasted. Ga Eul let all thoughts leave her mind as she rested her arm on the banister and soaked in her surroundings.
A loud male voice startled her. "Aren't you going to get dressed? It's time for breakfast, and I'm sure you don't want to miss that!"
She looked over and saw Yi Jeong leaning against the railing on the deck of his bungalow, smirking. Why did he have to be in the room right next to hers? She didn't like the way he was looking at her. How long had he been watching her? She unconsciously covered herself with her arms.
"Yo, Yi Jeong!" Woo Bin stepped out of the next bungalow over, with a wide grin on his face. The two models were dressed in robes both hanging from his arms.
Blech! Uncomfortable, Ga Eul quickly stepped inside to change. She picked out a cute off-the-shoulder pink halter top, black jean shorts and sandals. It both relieved and bothered her to find a strapless bra and matching panties. No one's going to see it, she kept repeating to herself.
After a decadent breakfast, Ga Eul and Jandi were thrilled to find they were going horseback riding on the beach. Aside from a few pony rides at the park, they had never been before. The group, sans the French models, were led to a beach and each assigned a horse.
Ga Eul smiled and patted the nose of her brown gelding. "Hi Louis. I'm Ga Eul. Let's be friends today."
The horse merely snorted. Ga Eul felt this wasn't a good start. She put one foot in a stirrup and tried to climb up the way Jun Pyo was showing Jandi, when she felt a pair of large hands at her waist lifting her up. She was disconcerted to see the hands were attached to a certain handsome lanky frame.
Yi Jeong was amused. The girl had actually been talking to a horse in English while they were in a French speaking region. He was even more diverted by her blush when he helped her onto the horse. He knew exactly what she was wearing underneath her light layers, since her blouse was an off-the-shoulder number. It served her right as it was her fault that he had missed out last night, much to Woo Bin's benefit.
"Let's go!" Jun Pyo called.
Yi Jeong mounted his horse and set out after the others. The cool ocean breeze hit his face, the morning sun still low in the sky. The others let out whoops as they went from a trot to a canter. Yi Jeong slowed his horse down. He had some unfinished business to take care of and there was one person who could tell him about his best friend's crush's crush. If what she said were true, Jun Pyo would be in for a massive disappointment and who knew what his impulsive friend would do in that state?
"Ga Eul yang." He turned in his seat to see no one there. Surprised, he scanned the area. Eventually he spotted a small figure in the distance slowly ambling towards him. Goodness, there was no end to her antics. Smiling to himself, he turned his horse around.
Ga Eul's feelings quickly went from excitement to puzzlement to frustration. She watched as everyone else immediately took off, while here she was on the slowest horse in creation. She shook the reins then kicked her stirrups to no avail. She could have walked twice as fast as they were currently moving.
Her exasperation was not aided by the company that trotted up to her. "Do you want some help?"
She wished she could wipe that smirk from his face. "No thanks. I'm fine," she said through gritted teeth.
Yi Jeong almost enjoyed her blush of embarrassment as much as her blush of shyness. He was certainly having an entertaining morning. "Do you want to ride on my horse?"
"No!" Her face got even redder.
"What are you thinking about? I was talking about trading horses."
Ga Eul squeezed her eyes closed. Ugh. "I said I'm fine! You can go on without me."
"What, no pictures today?"
"My phone battery died and I don't have a charger because someone didn't tell me I was going on a trip." Her phone memory was also full, but she wasn't about to divulge that.
"But you seem to be enjoying yourself, you should be thanking me. Do you want me to take some pictures with my phone?"
She could hear the laughter in his voice. He was insufferable. Ga Eul kicked her feet a few more times. It was all useless, though, because her sluggish horse came to a full stop and started pawing at the sand.
"Yah! Be careful!"
Ga Eul barely had time to register the warning before Louis suddenly decided to collapse and roll onto his back. She fell and tumbled a few feet away. Yi Jeong quickly alighted and ran over to her, concern on his face. "Ga Eul yang! Are you okay?"
She was so embarrassed and she was with the one person she was trying to avoid. He helped her to her feet and she brushed herself off. The sand had even gotten into her blouse and shorts. She could have died right then. She stammered, "I'm... I'm okay. I think I'll just head back now."
She glared at Louis who was currently flailing around itching his back. He eventually righted himself and shook his mane, flicking more sand at them. Really, she disliked this horse almost as much as the irksome person beside her. She had a feeling the blasted animal was doing this to her on purpose. "Louis, let's go!"
Louis sauntered into the trees and started munching at the low vegetation.
"Louis, I said let's go!" She stomped over to the lazy steed, grabbed his reins, and tugged as hard as she could. Louis pulled back even harder, making her fall face down into the sand.
"Ahhh!" At that moment Ga Eul hoped beyond hope that she was lying in quicksand so the ground would swallow her whole. She coughed.
Yi Jeong was really laughing now. His face was starting to hurt. Yi Jeong helped her up a second time. He saw her defeated face and started to feel bad for her. Louis really was being terrible.
"I'm sorry, I'll stop laughing. Here, get up on my horse. Leave Louis to me." He led her by the shoulders and she wordlessly complied as he helped her onto his docile mare. Mounting Louis, Yi Jeong firmly tugged the reins and dug his heels into the horse's sides. Louis kicked into a trot and Ga Eul's horse followed close behind as they headed back to the stables.
Yi Jeong still wanted to ask her a few questions but he didn't have the heart to interrogate her in this state. There would be time enough for that later. Meanwhile he was grinning so much that he was glad she couldn't see his face from behind him. It was already a lively morning and he was sure that this wouldn't be the last surprise in store.

A/N: I wasn't sure I would write any more fan fiction, but Ga Eul and Yi Jeong are so fun to write about I couldn't help myself. It is a little intimidating writing about their iconic scenes, and I hope I did them justice! I'm not sure how many between-the-scenes I'll write, but I have a few more in mind if you'd like to follow along.
