Chapter 1: A new life

"Seeker, get up Seeker."

My eyes slowly opened to the soft glow of the moon. The stars above were as beautiful as diamonds, and for a second, I was entranced. However, I was snapped out of it as my body felt cold, as the familiar bite of snow seemed to spread throughout my entire body. It took me a few moments to realize that I was on some snow-covered ground, and I quickly stood up and moved myself to hide within a nearby bush.

The shouting of the Siberian portal just as I got "comfortable" with my new hiding spot began to grow louder and louder as I saw flashlights over the skyline of the small ledge I gracefully fell from. Two troopers jumped down and began to follow the trail that was leading the way from the area, a moment after the two moved, another jumped following shortly behind.

"That was close, Seeker."

My helpful handler comments. I let out a sigh of relief as I watch the angry patrol run further and further away from my bush. Feeling a bit more confident as I knew these were the only guards left in the area, I stepped out and shook my head. As I saw my trusty and suppressed XCR 700 lying on the ground right in front of me, the men and women of the Siberian army were bright as they were competent.

"Yeah, but hey, at least I took out their communications, so no need to worry for any backup."

Crunching the snow under my boot, I walk over and reach down to pick up my rifle, brushing it off as I inspect for any damages but only to make a clicking sound with my tongue as I saw some snow got into the feeding mechanism of the rifle. The bolt must have accidentally opened as I fell. Looking around, I find a semi-flat rock and walk towards it. Reaching the rock, I move my arms and begin to push away the snow that acuminated on top of the rock. Once doing so, I set my rifle down and began to field strip it, dusting off any snow that entered the weapon system. Putting it back together, I nod at my work as I tap the side of my mask.

"Bring up a map of the area. I want to plan where those dumb guards may appear from next"

The handler does so without question. My right eye is given a small projection of the local map area. Seeing that the trail that the guards ran to ended very quickly, I knew they would have to loop back around and try to climb back up the ledge….Looking at my pouches, I saw that I had a grenade left from my earlier stunt, and so I could….

"Seeker, I recommend leaving the area. Your earlier engagement may have alerted Ivanowsky."

Shaking my head, I knew that I couldn't spend my time playing around. Unlike the games, the targets were actually smart, unlike the grunts taking care of them. Shaking my head, I moved to the ledge and quickly pulled myself up, and began running towards the main objective, Passing by the cabin and the several dead bodies from my earlier stunt. I started running towards the complex. How did my life become so complex?

Earlier Two days ago.

[Welcome, you were selected for a special gift!]

"Blue text…..blue…..text?"

That was all I could think of as my head began throbbing heavily. My entire body felt sore as my eyes could only see endless black, only being illuminated by the blue text, not by much, mind you. Quickly I look around, spinning in place only to be greeted by the black void before the blue text went snapped in front of me. Right as I was about to vocalize my thoughts about the situation, the message was replaced by another.

[PURGE UNSUCCESSFUL ENGAGING EMERGENCY PROTOCAL]

Pain, all I felt was pain, everything felt as if it was being crushed, set on fire, shocked, and all sorts of sensations I couldn't even comprehend. I screamed and screamed as Something happened to me. A large number of blue texts appeared all around me as I thrashed around, trying to make it stop. Suddenly it did….just as the pain went away, I blinked, and all around me was a room that looked straight out of an armory from an action movie, but it didn't matter as I instantly fell to the floor, holding myself as I began to weep.

Shaking softly as I spent well over an hour on the floor, pulling myself together enough to force myself up in an upright position, trying to understand what the fuck just happened. Sitting on the cold concrete, I moved my hands in front of me….these weren't my hands. Like a bolt of lightning, an intense fear rose inside of me as I began quickly inspecting myself. This wasn't my body. This wasn't me! What is going on!

However…..it clicked, blue texts, "skills"...a "system" purging….The ability of the gamer….and I just lost it. Moving the hands…..my hands back around me, I felt confused and shocked at the events that had just happened in a span of a few minutes.

"W-what?"

That's all I managed to scrape out before a painful throbbing sensation washed through my head, it only lasted a few seconds, and my ears began to ring. Holding my head, I felt…..what seemed like memories being forcefully shoved into my skull. It didn't seem as painful to what I experienced an hour ago, yet all that knowledge crammed into my head hurt my brain.

[Memories Inplanted]

[Message from Administrator] :

"So that wasn't meant to happen. Sorry about that, champ, but it seemed like you contracted a bad case of a celestial parasite who almost obliterated you. Don't worry, it's not in you anymore, well, not entirely; some remnant of it is still stuck in that noggin of yours, and so it will take around three days to flush all that out of your system. Anyways stay alive for three days, and I'll properly introduce myself.

P.S you're in Sniper Ghost warrior as Seeker, Good luck~"

Reading the blue text in front of me, I couldn't move a single muscle. Reading that damn message over and over again, I couldn't do anything but get angry. As I let out a large scream of rage as I just stood up angry about my goddamn situation. God gamer's mind would have been great for this situation.

"I COULD HAVE BEEN IN DXD, I WANTED FUCKEN TITS IN MY FACE, FOR FUCK SAKES! BUT NO I HAVE TO HAVE THIS SHIT HAPPEN AND NOW I AM IN A FUCKEN WAR WORLD"

Oh, right, I forgot about that. Sliding down the small hill and hopping off my leg, entering the vicinity of the complex that houses Ivanowsky, the rat bastard making biological weapons. Thank god I played SGW contracts religiously so I know what to expect from this "map."

"Seeker, you are in the vicinity of Ivanowsky's compound. Make sure not to sound the alarm here, or else you will make the situation more complex than it is."

The handler says as I look towards the semi-large complex. Shaking my head, I remember how I managed to bullshit my way into being accepted by the "Illuminati" for their "trial." In-game and in lore, Seeker doesn't know that the handler is a part of a group trying to make sure the world doesn't shit itself by the idiots who are just power-hungry and stupid. Playing Contract one and two makes it seem like the Illuminati are the good guys, but when I was forced into this hell, there was a third game in the making, so here's hoping they don't pull a fast one on me.

"I hear you. Any intel you can give me?"

I ask as I survey the area, marking and taking mental notes of the troop movement and positioning, I already know there are at least 24 ish people here. However, I know entirely relying on my game knowledge is rather stupid. In real life, I can't save scum, or the AI is retarded after hearing 50 rocks hit the same wall and still falling for it despite having a platoon's worth of bodies right behind the corner. I had to play this smart or I will die….I shiver slightly when thinking about that.

The new memories helped with that feeling, but it doesn't helpfully, I'm still a civilian at heart, and while I had the memories and muscle memory of a trained killer, I can't help myself feel squeamish about killing people…hell when I saw the head of one guard pop like a ripe melon I had to stop myself from vomiting. I can't wait for the gamer's mind….speaking of that.

[ETA: 12:9:10]

I let myself smile as I read the blue text that popped into existence a few feet in front of me, I didn't have speak for the timer to show up, it just does when I think about it. Slowly moving my rifle's scope to my eye, knowing the patrol patterns of the guards and where the hell Ivanowsky was, I felt pretty confident about taking out a few that stray from their battle buddies despite being a rather terrible sniping spot. Watching in real-time as my right eye us given a projection of the wind and estimated bullet drop, I let out a small chuckle. I had to admit this was cool, but I would rather not be dealing with the idea of killing these troops.

Still,I know the consequences of not doing so. I take a deep breath, and I look at a poor bastard who is just about to light a cigarette, moving my digits in a motion that seemed extremely natural to me. Adjust my sights slightly, and I pulled the trigger.

A/N: Thank you for reading the first chapter. This is my first time doing a "proper" fanfiction/story. If there are any issues in terms of grammar, tone, or the basics of writing, remember I am a single person working on this and have no idea what I am doing. I'll be releasing chapter 2 in a bit. So wait for it!
