Elizabeth 2022 A/R. This story focuses on Elizabeth. Many characters will be involved, and some will be a surprise. I have not been following GH much since Scrubs left, but I occasionally get cliff notes on what is happening.

Introduction and Summary: The beginning of Elizabeth's story follows her breakdown and spending time in Shadybrook, from there her story follows a different direction.

While I'm not a big Franco fan, he did love her and was good to her children and she was devastated when he died. She felt guilty for thinking Jason was to blame and Cameron picked up from that and wanted vengeance for the stepfather that tried to protect him. Jason forgave him and Elizabeth understanding their actions.

Jason and Sam did break up and Jason and Britt never happened. Jason never married Carly and Sonny was only missing a few days. Sonny and Nina never happened. Elizabeth and Finn never happened. Jason is presumed dead.

Initially, Elizabeth was taking a powerful sleep medication to help her sleep as she was having nightmares, reminding her of how she felt when she saved Jake from the fire in her house and the meds they gave her were messing with her mind and dreams. She made the decision to stop taking them, but she was losing time and couldn't remember certain events and conversations.

Joss and Cameron are together, and the sex tape happened and was released to everyone on campus, but Trina was never a suspect. The kids, Elizabeth and Carly believe it was Esme Prince. They don't know her agenda and they have no proof. Esme arrived in Port Charles and had been in town for several months. At times the gang (Trina, Josslyn, Cameron, Spencer, and Esme) would hang out at the Webber-Baldwin house. She was Spencer's girlfriend, but they have since broken up. Elizabeth and Carly have made a peaceful co-existence for their children, though they both agree they would never magically become, friends. Nikolas and Esme never happened. Esme has had no interaction with Ryan. She does not know he exists. Through Kevin, Esme has gotten an internship at Shadybrook for one of her psychology courses.

Elizabeth, after learning what happened to her son and Joss, is beside herself. She has a lot of guilt and regrets about not being able to protect her kids. While she doesn't regret being with Zander Smith as it gave her Cameron, Zander died due to his involvement with Faith and Ric trying to blackmail him and he died suicide by cop. She did have regrets and felt guilty he never got to know his son.

Jake was born out of love, even if he was initially conceived out of comfort due to a long-standing friendship and attraction with Jason Morgan. She was afraid of the danger of Jason's profession and regrettably asked Jason to give up his claim to Jake. They tried to make their relationship work because they were in love, even though he still didn't have much contact with his son. She regretted cow-towing to Lucky to keep up the façade of Jake's paternity once Jason told Lucky the truth. She regretted not having Jake in Jason's life because even after the danger, he returned to Sam and it was not the mob, but Luke who was suspected of killing Jake. She always thought if the truth had come out earlier, maybe Jake would have been protected. Jason still left her due to the danger and had a child with Sam, but before he could know him, danger took his life. Her regrets went further including having an affair with Nikolas, Lucky's brother even though Lucky had asked her to re-marry him hours before. Despite not being in love with him as much as he was with her, she said yes. She hadn't loved him for years, but guilt once again overtook her. He rescued her and saved her sanity and life after her rape as a teenager. It was an endless cycle of the teenage love she was desperately trying to reclaim and the guilt she felt by not repaying him for what he did for her nearly 25 years ago. She had even further regrets and guilt about Lucky, Nikolas, and the paternity of Aiden. She almost ruined the brother's relationship. (In this version, I only see Tyler as Nikolas, not the current actor). If she had believed in Lucky more maybe, he wouldn't have left and become an absentee father. But she had to stop thinking it was her responsibility to reassure him about his life. Though Lucky, Luke, and Laura rescued Jake from Helena Cassidine, the chasm between them was too wide. He left again, abandoning the boys who called him dad.

She went through some regrettable choices of men and hope for love, but that fell short even though her sons started to connect with her beaus. She regretted bringing them back into her life only to have her kids feeling alone again.

It wasn't until Franco came into her life she started to trust again. Despite all the warnings, he was there more for her kids than the others, though she gave concessions to Jason due to his return from his previous "untimely death", the faked "death" of Jake, and the hatred of Franco, still, they tried to make it work. Then Franco was killed, and later Jason once again followed suit.

With all the stress and feelings of abandonment, attacks on her personal choices of every man she was involved with, she starts having flashbacks to something that happened many years ago. She is trying to make sense of things and is afraid of scaring her children and checks herself into Shadybrook. She asks Laura to help with the boys and explains to Cameron she is having memories and flashbacks and hopes he can understand, but she needs to do this herself and to please keep his brothers from visiting. Cameron tries to help with his brothers while at the same time working at Kelly's Diner, attending PCU, and maintaining his relationship with Joss. He also worried about how Joss was dealing with the fallout from the tape as she was treated differently than he was.

Elizabeth says a tearful goodbye to her sons and Laura and Kevin drive her to Shadybrook. She carries her small bag with her, and Kevin helps her get checked in.
