Hey everyone, time for a new story, again. If you've read Regenesis up until this story was uploaded, then you know that not only do I need a bit of a break from that story, but I also have something that will happen in this one that is important to that one.
Anyway, you've read the description, you know what you're getting yourself into. On with the show!
Nemesis
Chapter 1
In the hidden lair of the Ninja Turtles with family, a week long visit of their close friends from Mutopia was coming to an end. It was the final day before Tyroth and Sephie would return home, but they and their friends still had plenty to do before that. Training was one such thing.
As often was the case, once the mutants had finished performing the various moves that master Splinter called out, it was time to spar, and ever since Monalisa had joined the family years earlier, Splinter himself joined in the exercise, to even the numbers.
However, as his age was starting to catch up with him, he had decided to change the routine from time to time. This time, he had his children and friends spar in two groups, one pairing Monalisa and Michelangelo against Sephie and Donatello, which left Leonardo and Raphael to spar against Tyroth.
Sephie and Donatello found themselves in a hard fight, facing the energetic movement and attacks of Michelangelo, as well as the graceful and precise Monalisa. The usually defensive Donatello tried to follow his master's advice and be more aggressive, but it was still a, for him, unfamiliar methodology, which left Sephie to meet the others head on.
While both groups fought valiantly, it was ultimately Monalisa and Michelangelo that were victorious.
The other battle was far less even, as despite it being two against one, Leonardo and Raphael quickly found themselves overpowered by the might dragon, their speed being matched and their precision strikes not being enough to overcome his endurance. In the end, the two brothers found themselves being held in Tyroth's hands by their belts, not unlike a pair of suitcases.
"And finish!" Splinter barked, signalling the end of the sparring session.
"This was fun. Good effort guys." Tyroth chuckled as he let go of the turtles, dropping them both onto the floor with a thud.
"Glad at least you thought so…" Raphael half groaned, as he and Leonardo got back on their feet and dusted off themselves.
"I have to be honest, master Splinter," Leonardo said. "I'm not sure what you expected when pairing us against Tyroth."
"Facing challenges helps one grow, my son." the old rat said with a slight smirk. "And some times, my children could use a humbling experience to keep them focused."
"If you say so." said Raphael, though a part of him was certain that Splinter simply liked seeing them get beat up. "I, for one, is content with that Tyroth's our friend, and not our enemy."
"Likewise, and I'm also happy not having to spar against him." said Michelangelo. "I prefer to win."
"Same here, but I don't mind loosing a sparring match." said Sephie. "Better that than a real fight."
"Speaking of which, let's head topside and find one." said Raphael. "I need to get this loss out of my system."
"Well, it is almost time for a patrol." said Donatello, holding his chin in thought. "But we should check in on the girls first."
But before the mutants could leave the dojo, Pandora came running to them, followed shortly by the more calm Kemeko.
"Hey! Mom! Dad!" the teenage hybrid called out. "Wait, are you already done? Aw, I wanted to watch."
"Maybe next time, little geisha." said Monalisa.
"Yeah, and I don't think you'd want to watch your old man get his shell handed to him either." Michelangelo chuckled. "As fun as that might be."
"Watch it, Mikey! I can still hand you your shell with one arm behind mine." Raphael cut in.
"Dad lost?" Pandora asked, and then looked at Tyroth, placing her hands on her hips. "Just you wait, Uncle T. One day, I will be the one to defeat you." she said confidently.
"You're welcome to try, kiddo." Tyroth said with a smile as he ruffled Pandora's hair.
"Hey! Quit it, Uncle T!" Pandora protested, but she couldn't help but giggle slightly, and the others could help but to laugh a little.
"What about you, Lotus?" Leonardo asked his adoptive daughter. "Do you share your cousin's confidence? Think you could take down Tyroth one day?"
The Asian girl looked at the dragon mutant for a moment. "No, I do not think so. I'm not sure I would ever be able to defeat him. But, I would still like to try, if given the chance."
"I won't mind sparring with either of you, once you've gotten a bit more experience." said Tyroth. "The two of you, together with Sonia and the Geckolings are the next generation. You will have to take over from us when we're too old for this sort of thing."
"But before that…" Donatello started. "Let's see how the two of you did on the quiz of your homework. I assume that none of you have cheated."
"Cheat? Why, I'd never!" Pandora said overly dramatically.
"We'll see. Once I've reviewed your answers, we'll go over your homework for tomorrow."
"Ugh, more homework?" Pandora complained. "We don't even go to a proper school, so you might as well just call it work."
"She is technically right." said Kemeko. "But we still need it to learn properly, Pandora."
"Kemeko's right, Pandora, it is important for your future." said Monalisa.
"I know, but it's still boring."
"I'm with you on that, kiddo." said Michelangelo.
"Enough, you bad influence of a turtle." Raphael groaned.
Some time later, once the children had gotten their new assignments, the adults had gone topside to patrol New York, splitting up into smaller groups as they headed to the eastern parts of the city. From there, Raphael and Donatello headed to the north east, Leonardo and Michelangelo to the south east, Tyroth north west, and Sephie and Monalisa to the south west.
With the exception of some smaller groups of minor criminals, there was surprisingly very little activity this night, which all but Raphael welcomed, for while they enjoyed their 'work', they were fighting for a future where this kind of work was no longer needed.
"Man, this night has been a complete bust." Raphael complained as he and Donatello stopped for a rest on a rooftop. "First, Tyroth wipes the floor with me, and then there are no real goons to take out my frustration on."
"You could always go a few rounds with that punching bag of yours." Donatello chuckled. "I'm actually surprised that old thing is still in one piece, with how often you've used it."
"If I find out the others have had more action than me tonight, I don't think it will survive the night."
"Speaking of which, I wonder just how things are going for them." Donatello mused and picked up his shell cell. "I'm gonna give the others a few calls, just to check in on them."
Meanwhile, in the south west part of the patrol area for the night, Monalisa and Sephie had just stopped for a quick break of star gazing.
"You know, I don't think I will ever get tired of this kind of view." said Sephie as she looked out from their high vantage point. "The sky above and the city below, two different seas of stars to marvel at."
"I know what you mean, Sephie." Monalisa agreed. "No matter how many times I see it, it never gets old."
"Wonder if the guys are having as good a view as we do."
"I bet Tyroth does, since he's flying."
"True that. Maybe we should have gone with him instead." Sephie said and they both giggled.
"We'd tire out your poor mate, Sephie. I know he is strong enough to carry both of us for quite some time, but we can't use him as some form of a winged carriage."
"Maybe not, but I bet we could get him to offer it himself. All we girls need are a few well chosen words, a few winks, and show a little skin, and we can get pretty much any guy to do what we want."
The two sisters in spirit both laughed heartily at Sephie's suggestion.
"This is why you're my best friend, Mona." Sephie said. "You and I have the same kind of humour."
"And we enjoy being pampered by our mates, while still being able to kick butt on our own."
Suddenly, Monalisa's shell-cell started ringing, making both of them almost jump out of their scales.
"It's Donnie." Monalisa said. "I'll put him on speaker."
"Hello? Mona?" they heard Donatello ask.
"We're here, Donnie. Everything alright?" Monalisa responded.
"Yeah, everything is fine, except your mate's mood." Donatello answered, and the girls could hear Raphael grumble in the background. "It's been too quiet tonight for his liking. And I'm just calling around to see if it's any different for any of you."
"Can't say it is, really. It's been a very calm night for us too."
"I see. It was the same for the others as well."
"Seems we're doing a good job then." Sephie cut in.
"It would seem so. In any case, if nothing else happens, we'll still meet up back where we started in twenty minutes, okay?"
"Read you loud and clear, Donnie." said Monalisa. "See you then, and stay safe."
"We'd better get going then." Monalisa said as she tucked away her shell-cell. "We still got some ground to cover."
"Sure thing. Just let me stretch a bit first."
A short moment later, the two girls took off, jumping from rooftop to rooftop as they had so many times over the years.
However, they failed to notice the two pair of eyes that observed them from the shadows.
"Well, would you look at that. Two whores for the prize of one." said one pair.
"Keep them in your sight, or I'll make sure you get the lashings you deserve for loosing them." said the other pair, to which the first hissed back in protest.
A good start on this new story, just enough of a soft beginning, with a hint of trouble near the end, giving us a cliffhanger.
Anyone got any whose eyes have spotted Mona and Sephie?
