Hey people, we're back again with a new story. I had finished this chapter a few days ago and have also completed chapter 2, currently working on chapter 3 of this story.

I only saw one maybe two stories with Bell being a renard and a few ideas came to my mind and I simply couldn't just leave them there. So I decided to make this story.

This story will be a harem route because I feel like it. I know all my stories except for one are, but that's just how I like writing them.

I will say that there is one relationship with Bell in this one which will be very fast paced and the person is Alise. It is really fast paced and intend to have the two get together by the end of chapter 2/start chapter 3. The other will be normal.

I think that is all, I hope you enjoy this chapter and the concept of this story.

The Renard Bunny

Chapter 1 – Beginning To A New Story

It was late afternoon and the sun had begun sinking below the horizon. A tall and well-built man sat the bank of a river. He was gently soaking his feet in while washing his hands with the fresh water of the river after a long day of work. A calm and relaxed look was on the man's face, his blue eyes staring at the sky as the soft breezes softly flowed through his white hair and beard. The man looked to be in his thirties but that was simply what he appeared to be. His life as an immortal being was beyond eons old.

The handsome man was deep in thought, remembering the good old days before disaster had struck his Familia. He once lead one of the greatest Familias that had existed on Gekai. Started as soon as the God had descended from Tenkai, he formed the strongest group of warriors that defended Gekai for nearly a millennia.

To complete their mission and fulfil the God's desire to bring back the Age of the Heroes, the great Familia of men along with their female counterpart, proceeded to embark on an arduous quest. The task known as the Three Great Quests comprised the objective of killing three of the strongest monsters to have roamed Gekai.

The King of the Land, Behemoth. The Emperor of the Seas, Leviathan. And finally the ruler of the skies, the One Eyed Black Dragon. All in his Familia were heroes, legends that had performed incredible feats and achieved what most mortals could only dream of. None were more qualified to take on this quest.

They protected peace and maintained order on Gekai, they grew stronger and fulfilled their destiny by slaying the Emperor of the Seas and the King of the Land. With that, their legends grew. Until their end came. Like all good stories, there is always an end to every hero's tale. Theirs came at the claws of the One Eyed Black Dragon. An ancient monster that symbolizes death and destruction.

So powerful was the ancient dragon that even the two great Familias were annihilated. They stood no chance against it and their tales came to a close. However, that was not the true end. There was a possibility to restart and try again, as long as one doesn't give up.

That chance however, never came. Defeated, the Familias returned to their home, the renowned dungeon city of Orario only to be met with a twisted fate. The city turned on them, the unblessed people, terrified of the news searched for someone to blame, so they targeted the group they cheered on as heroes.

Only their closest allies stood by their side, but despite their encouragement and support the two Familias could not recover after that blow. Cruel and merciless was the act, but so was life. Faced with betrayal by those they sought to protect, the two Familias gave up. Falling into despair, they scorned and cursed the ungrateful populace and left, never to be seen again.

Their allies were heartbroken to see the fate of their friends in such a state. That, however, gave birth to a new line of heroes. Their allies took up the banner as the strongest and vowed to continue the legacy of their Familias. To honor their bravery and to relieve them of their duty, they stood up and allowed the burden to be carried on by them. It had been a long time and it now it was the moment to let the old heroes rest and for the new ones to take up their mantle.

The old man smiled fondly as he remembered the faces of the children that had carried on his will. Though saddened by their deaths, he was proud to have had the chance to be their God. His attention though, was suddenly shifted to something floating on the river.

His blue eyes narrowed as he focused his sight on what seemed to be a basket. It graciously flowed down the river, until it began passing by. The God raised an eyebrow and was going to just let it flow until he heard a faint cry. The cry of a baby.

The God's eyes widened in shock and his body sprung up as he rushed towards the basket. He could never leave a defenseless baby to be abandoned like that. He arrived at the basket and gently picked it up. He slowly opened the basket and was presented with a beautiful sight, a letter placed upon the sleeping figure.

The man decided to open the letter and read it, where he learnt of the name boy. Bell. The baby had apparently escaped death and the parents wished for whoever found him to raise him. It was ambiguous but the man would fulfil their desire and take care of the baby.

His gaze then shifted back to the. A cute little baby that seemed to be sleeping. His hair was pure white just like snow. His eyes fluttered open to reveal a pair of mesmerizing rubellite orbs. However something else caught the attention of the God besides the peculiar characteristics. That was the fact that the baby was no human baby.

It had a pair of fluffy and pointy ears. The God, with his vast knowledge and experience, immediately recognized the fox ears, making the baby a renard. What completely blew the God away on the other hand, were his tails. He had not one, not two nor three or four but a total of nine beautiful white tails with red ends.

The man had heard countless times of the legends of the nine tailed fox through his extensive knowledge. He had even travelled to the Far East and asked his fellow Goddess Amaterasu about it. However, there had ever been one case of a nine tailed fox being born according to the Sun Goddess.

When the baby's rubellite eyes looked at the man longingly, was when the old God decided to change up his plans. He take in and care for this baby and teach him everything he could. He would then allow the little baby to choose his path. Secretly he wished him to choose the path of a hero as the God had never truly given up on his wish to bring the Three Great Quests to an end and bring the Age of the Gods to an end.

"Welcome to your new home Bell."

.

The man returned to the village and went to the chief of the village to ask for his help. The chief was very surprised to see that the man, who he didn't know was a God, suddenly bringing back a baby with him. The God explained to the chief the situation, to which he agreed to help as he was more than happy to aid a new life to grow.

That and he was curious about the baby. Being from a small village in the countryside, he had never seen a renard before. He wondered how a renard would look like in the future. Plus, the chief's wife was also ecstatic about being able to take care of a baby and there was no stopping her.

With that the years passed by. The old God taught Bell how to read, write and take care of the farm while also busying himself to learn how to cook for the little renard's sake. The village would also help by providing whatever he needed or missed. It was a steady, quiet and calm life. Very different compared to what the God was used to, but he had come to like a life like this.

Every day he would make books and recount the tales of many ancient heroes to the little boy. Each day that passed by the boy grew more and more inspired to become the heroes of the stories much to the God's joy. Then one day while the boy wondered around the house he found a beautiful looking sword. It had a silver blade with lightning like marks engraved on it, while the hilt was white and gold.

When asking the old God about it, the man told him that it was his sword from back when he used to lead his Familia. Bell then asked if one day he too could have a sword like that to which Zeus proposed that if he truly wanted, when he turned six he'd teach him and train him to fight.

He would also allow him to accompany them on their hunts so that he could learn other skills such as tracking and stealth. Being elements often mentioned in the stories, Bell imagined himself valiantly fighting off hordes of monsters like the many heroes before had done which made the little fox excited.

.

"Bell, come here."

"What is it grampa Zeus?"

"As I'm sure you remember a year ago I promised that on your sixth birthday I'd train you to fight."

All of Bell's nine tails started wagging excitedly, which caused the old God to chuckle. Bell had grown up a bit and his renard features had grown all the more obvious, particularly his tails. They had grown large and fluffy, so large he could probably cover his whole body with them.

"Really?! You will teach me?"

"Yes, but before that there is something else I would like to give you."

"What is it?"

"As you know I'm a God and I decided to give you a falna."

The boy's red eyes shone brightly as he heard the white haired man speak.

"Yay! Grampa you're the best!"

The King of the Gods was wrapped into a warm hug by his tiny arms and the fluffy tails.

"Hahaha! I sure am! Now turn around and take your shirt off so that I can give you a falna."

"Okay!"

The shirt immediately flew off as Bell turned around.

"I will also need you to move the tails."

"Oh."

Bell had completely forgotten about his tails in his excitement. It was very unsettling at the start for the little boy, to see that no one else in the village had tails or ears like his. But after Zeus told him of his race and everyone reassured him that it didn't matter and they all loved him equally, it put him at ease.

"Bell, your tails."

"Oh right."

The tails gently parted revealing his tiny back on which the God let a drop of his blood fall. As it landed, a black tattoo began appearing forming the shape a fist with lightning in its hands. That was proof that he now was a member of the once great Zeus Familia.

I feel not the pain as mine actions this world it destroys

The countless aeons have left me of my emotions devoid

The arrogation of mankind now comes to an end

"There. It's done."

"So now I can become super powerful?"

"Yes, you can Bell. You also have a magic spell already."

Zeus read the effect and chant of the spell, worrying a little as he noticed the ominous meanings but knew that Bell would learn how to use it correctly.

"Really?!"

"Yes, renards are also known for their magical abilities like the elves. Come, let's start your training."

"Okay!"

The excitement of the renard didn't last long as the training started. Zeus loved the little boy but for that exact reason he would do his best to make him as strong as possible. That meant arduous training that would normally break people's will. He initially was weak and many times he thought of giving up. However, Bell wasn't just anybody and his desire to protect the people, his desire to help Zeus and become what desired most, all made it possible for him to persist.

Year after year the training continued and became harder, occasionally he'd also go on the hunting trips with the other adults of the village. The once little boy grew tall and strong and through Zeus' teachings he gradually moved down the path of a hero.

It was a surprise to everyone in the village when Zeus revealed himself to be a God. Even more shocking was when he told everyone he'd be giving Bell his falna. The village had never had a God, adventurer or blessed person in it. Everyone always dreamed of getting a God's blessing. Everyone was curious to see what effect it would have on Bell. It certainly didn't let them down when little Bell began demonstrating strength that even most adults couldn't ever dream of obtaining.

The old Gods' perverted tendencies also began to return after Bell turned ten. He attempted to corrupt the boy into becoming like him by teaching him what 'a man's romance' consisted of. However his pure and righteous personality caused all attempts to fail.

.

Day and nights started and ended, before anyone knew it Bell was now fourteen and a powerful level four renard. The tiny Bell that everyone knew was now a meder and sixty celches tall, fairly tall for his age. His white hair had grown long and his eyes more brilliant. The before soft tail had grown bigger and fluffier, his ears longer and pointy. His body too had grown, instead of the thin and fragile body he used to have, he now had a muscly lean body which truly outlined the effect of his training as a warrior. His cute face was just as cute, but it had become much more handsome than it used to.

Over the past eight year he had gained new spells and skills. During this time it had taken a single year for him to reach level one, shocking Zeus, more so when for some reason his status points didn't end at 999 like other falnas do. Then in two years he reached level three and in five he reached level four.

In Orario such feats wouldn't have been that special, but Bell was not an adventurer. He lived in a small village in the countryside and had never been to the dungeon. Moreover, outside of Orario and Telskyura, there was no one who was known to have reached a level above three. This is what made Bell's feats truly unique and legendary.

"Bell-nii can you tell me again what it was that allowed you to level up?"

"Of course Euan. Back then, your brother had decided to venture into the forest alone."

The little boy looked to his right to the mentioned brother who looked down in shame.

"I happened to see him go and was worried since it was late at night so I followed him. That's when a monster that had come down from the north appeared before him. As you know everyone calls me a fool because I can't help but jump into danger head first when it comes to saving people."

"Hehe, that's what makes you Bell-nii."

"Well after I thought against that monster I managed to level up to two."

"What kind of monster was it?"

"Hmm, grampa Zeus called it a wyvern. Apparently it's a sub-species of a dragon."

"What does sub-spechy mean?"

"It means that it is an inferior version that derives from the dragon."

"That's incredible Bell-nii, you defeated a dragon like heroes do."

The renard chuckled before stroking the little boy's hair with his tail. All the children loved Bell's tails, more so when they got to touch them. But more than his tails, Bell's bravery and strength made him a figure that many looked up to. Most, if not, all children saw him as a role model which they aspired to be like.

"What about level three? And four?"

Other children had arrived and began asking the renard about his feats.

"For level three, me and grampa journeyed eastwards where there was rumored to be a nest. For a full day I thought until the nest of monsters was wiped out. A simple but hard task which allowed me to level up to three. As for level four grampa Zeus had me go north into Dragon Valley, where I found a dragon. Slaying the dragon allowed me to level up to four."

"Bell-nii you're amazing!"

"Thank you Rory."

The little walnut haired girl giggled when his tail softly caressed her cheek.

"Bell!"

Though far away and faint, Bell heard and recognized Zeus' voice calling out to him thanks to his race's ears which were very sensitive to sound and his high level.

"Hurry back children, I need to go and you guys have to go and learn how to write."

"Eh do we have to?"

"Yes, it is very important."

"Okay."

The children then ran back to their own houses while Bell jogged to his own house where Zeus was waiting at the front door.

"Ah Bell, there you are."

"Sorry grampa, I was playing with the children. Did you need something?"

"Nothing of important. Me and some of the others are going out to hunt for tonight's feast. You know that it's the village chief's birthday right?"

"Of course. I will join you too."

"Good, then get your bow and equipment. We're leaving in ten."

"Got it."

.

Bell came out wearing his everyday shirt and pants, which had a hole made for his fluffy tails. Additionally, as he was out hunting he strapped on a pouch with essential items, a knife, a quiver full of arrows and his trusty bow, which Zeus made himself.

"Ready?"

"Yep."

"Let's go then."

The two arrived at the outskirts of the city where they met with a group of thirteen men and six women. Those present were the village's hunting team, responsible for catching enough game to feed the village. Amongst them, Bell was one of the most important members.

As a renard, he had an excellent sense of smell and hearing, better than any human or most other beast people. Like cats and cat people, his eyesight was able to naturally see during the night, all features which were enhanced even further through his blessing, making him essential to the team.

With Bell and Zeus present, the group of twenty one people marched into the forest with bows in hand. Like usual, the group split in smaller groups of seven. One lead by Bell, one by Zeus being the most experienced and another by Oliver, the second most experienced of the group. Each group went in their own direction and it didn't take long for Bell to spot the first victim of the day. A deer.

Bell cocked the arrow and aimed at the neck of the deer. He offered a silent prayer to the deer before letting the arrow loose. The arrow silently sailed its way towards the unsuspecting animal. The deer only had the time to see a metal point flying at it before it couldn't think anymore as its life left its body.

"Good job Bell!"

The rest of the group quickly made its way to the downed animal. Bell watched as the group worked on tying up the animal, staying on the lookout for anything moving. So far, there were only a few animals that Bell refused to shoot no matter what. Foxes, for obvious reasons, small birds, squirrels and finally bunnies. Bell didn't know why but he felt strangely connected with the white bunnies that could be found in the forest.

Despite squirrels and bunnies being delicious, no one in the village hunted them out of respect for Bell who absolutely abhorred the idea of killing them. Foxes though weren't hunted so there was nothing to worry about, that and there were no foxes in at least a radius of a hundred kilomeders from the village.

Bunnies also seemed to share the connection with Bell. They often came out and approached Bell of their own desire. It wasn't uncommon to spot bunnies around Bell's house or to see dozens following Bell whenever he walked outside of the house.

Everyone's favourite sight so far has been a scene of Bell, who was sat down under a maple tree with orange leaves during a sunset. Surrounding him were a dozen bunnies and a dozen more sat on his shoulders, head and arms while he read a book. A few more hid under the tails and would sometimes pop their head out. Others would cuddle with his furry tails. It was a truly adorable sight, made even cuter by the bunnies when they occasionally stroked their faces against the pointy ears of the renard.

Bell's ears then suddenly twitched as he picked up a weird noise. His face turned away from the members of his group working on the deer and turned to the origin of the sound. It was far away from him but he could hear the feral growl.

Bell's eyes narrowed as he focused on the unfamiliar sound. Having lived in the area for more than a decade, he knew every sound and smell almost like it was his home. However, the growl he heard was nothing like those of the animals or monsters that could be found in the forest.

Alarmed and worried of what it might be Bell howled into the sky, alerting every hunter group. Bell's howl, being loud and distinctive from others, was often used as a signal for emergencies. The people working on the dear were startled by Bell's sudden alarm. Trusting Bell, they immediately stopped their work and regrouped around Bell.

"What's the matter Bell?"

"There is something unfamiliar in the forest. It's growl I have never heard before. Sorry everyone, it's just … it worries me as to what it is."

"No worries Bell, your just looking out for us."

Soon the other two hunting groups arrived on their location and were briefed about Bell's concerns. Agreeing to a quick retreat for the day, they grabbed the deer and whatever animals they were able to hunt before turning to head back.

"You're not coming Bell?"

The God of the Sky noticed that Bell didn't seem to be following them.

"No, I will go and check out what it is. We can't leave it be."

"Haa, alright but be careful. There are no others who possess a falna that can help you here and you don't have a weapon."

"I know. I'll be careful."

.

Bell silently moved through the dark forest, rapidly closing in on his target. As he got closer he noticed knocked over trees, dead animals and the unusually silent surroundings which made it all the more unsettling for the young renard. He grabbed his bow and nocked an arrow in place, ready for a potential monster.

As he got closer he began hearing multiple movements and voices. Bell jumped one final time and landed on the tree in front of him, high on top of its branches. The renard then leaned to the right and peaked his head out to see what was in the clearing in front of him.

What he saw opened his eyes wide in shock. A dozen men wearing white cloaks were all gathered in the circular clearing hidden deep inside the forest. Bell didn't know who they were, but he did remember Zeus mentioning a group of dangerous people wearing white cloaks before.

Amongst the group were two individuals that stood out as they wore different clothing. Both wore black cloaks and while one had black hair, the other had fiery red hair. There was no doubt that they were the strongest of the group and possibly the leaders. However, what caught Bell's attention were the cages with black monsters trapped in them. Strong irregular monsters from the dungeon which Bell had never seen before.

"What now?"

"We release the monsters on the village up ahead."

Bell's ears twitched as he heard the terrifying plan that they had in mind. One which made his blood boil with rage as the group threatened his village so nonchalantly. Bell scanned the group and counted thirteen members, twenty monsters and the two leaders.

"Why are we even doing this?"

"To get Orario's attention and diver their forces away from the dungeon. Besides, killing a village ought to be a fun time killer."

The man with red hair barely registered the silver glint before the arrow flew into the head of one of the caged monsters, instantly killing it. It came as a shock to everyone as the level two monster that was the black minotaur in the cage died by a single arrow.

"Who's there!"

The red haired man who shouted was only met with more arrows that quickly killed three members and two more monsters. Hidden within the trees Bell kept on letting his arrows loose on the unknown group until he ran out.

Luckily the arrows were enough to kill half the monsters and leave all but four members along the two leaders. Slinging the bow on his back the renard dropped down the tree and onto the ground for the red and black haired men to see who had attacked them.

"What the?"

The red haired man had not expected for a beast person with white hair and red eyes to attack them. The image of the renard standing with the moon behind his back made for a terrifyingly intimidating scene. The black haired man however had his eyes bulging out.

"No fucking way. That's a renard."

"What's that?"

"Are you seriously that fucking stupid? Ugh, they are a beast race from the Far East that have taken from foxes. An incredibly rare race, more than even the elves if I dare say. Not only that, like the elves they have incredible magic abilities. However, this is truly a God send. I've never seen one with nine tails, only heard of them in legends."

The red haired man smiled.

"Great, it seems like we have been rewarded."

Bell heard them and scoffed.

"You think you can capture me?"

"Heh, you might have been able to kill these useless bunch of trash. But unlike them we're blessed and I'm even level three!"

The red haired man charged at Bell with a punch but was shocked when he easily blocked it by grabbing his fist with his own hand. The renard started crushing the man's fist before he jumped back.

"What the hell! This guy is at least level four! What is someone like him doing here?!"

Hearing that the black haired man, who was level two, began to show hints of fear.

"Don't think you can escape after you intended to release those monsters on my village."

He unsheathed the knife and rushed at the two leading figures. In just a second, the two were cut down by the renard who left little time for the other members before cutting them down as well. It pained Bell whenever he took someone's life, but sometimes circumstances required for drastic actions and this was such circumstance.

The white haired boy looked around to see the end result and crushed the magic stones before leaving the area and returning home to a worried village. When seeing him return the civilians all cheered and a preoccupied Zeus rushed to see if he was injured.

"My boy, thank the heavens you're back. Seeing you it seems like it was nothing of dangerous eh?"

Bell's frown however caused all the humour in Zeus to dry up.

"It was pretty serious this time. Let's talk about it later tonight."

"Alright. For now let's enjoy the feast!"

The chief's birthday started as Bell joined the rest of the villagers in the center of the settlement. Everyone congratulated the chief and proceeded to party for the entire night. Having had his full of food and having played with the children, Bell returned home with Zeus.

The two sat down in the living room with a serious atmosphere permeating the air. Zeus looked at Bell's grave look and wondered what happened in the forest to have alarmed Bell to this degree. The renard sighed and turned to Zeus before recounting what he found in the center of the forest.

Hearing his story the old God was shocked to find that Evilus had reached all the way out in these rural areas. More so after learning by a good friend of his that Evilus had been destroyed seven years prior after the failed attack on Orario.

"To think they would try to mercilessly slaughter a village. It was lucky that you found them before anything worse could happen, otherwise I dread to think what might have happened to the village."

"I still can't believe that they could do all this without a care in the world."

"Bell … not all people are good. This world is cruel and evil."

"I know, I remember how Orario betrayed your Familia."

"That's right. However, Bell, I don't want you to hold a grudge against them. It was understandable. Besides there still are many allies there. Loki, Hermes, Astraea and a few others."

The God looked out of the window and into the night sky with a thoughtful look.

"Perhaps it's time."

"Time? Time for what?"

"For me to go."

"W-what? Where? Why?"

"Bell, I already told you that one of these days I might have to leave. And I can't take you with me."

The ears and tails drooped down as sadness overtook Bell.

"Don't be sad Bell. Whatever path you choose I will be proud of you."

"Then I will be an adventurer. I have become a member of your Familia. So obviously I will finish what you started and carry on the Familia's legacy. I will fulfil your wish and bring the Age of the Gods to an end, so that the Age of Heroes may return."

"Hahaha, good Bell, good! I never wanted to force you on this path, but you taking it nonetheless fills me with joy!"

Bell smiled weakly seeing his grandfather's laugh.

"This, however, means that you will also have to leave the village. As strong as you are now, you will have to go to Orario to truly begin your story."

"I understand … wh-when will you leave?"

"…"

Zeus looked down as the thought of leaving Bell pained his heart.

"In three days."

"Well, that's plenty of time to tell everyone and prepare for the journey."

"That's right. Go to bed Bell. You need the rest."

The white haired fox nodded before heading off to bed with soundless steps. The God watched Bell's back with a smile, proud of how he had grown.

'That's my boy. I know you will grow to become the strongest of heroes.'

.

In the following three days, the village was told of their plans and were greatly saddened by the news. The children in particular didn't like the idea of Bell leaving and pleaded him to stay. The sight broke Bell's heart but after he explained to them that he had to do this, the children all reluctantly let go of him and his soft and fluffy tails.

Most of the time of the white haired fox that was normally used for training was now being spent with Zeus, the villagers and the rabbits, all of whom he would miss a lot once he set off. Letting go of the bunnies in his hands, he stood up on the edge of the cliff upon which his house was built upon and took in for a final moment the landscape that stretched beyond the horizon. He imprinted this image in his head before turning to his house and heading inside.

"There you are Bell. Did you have a good time?"

"Yes."

Zeus noticed the sadness in his eyes and sighed.

"I know it's hard. But nothing lasts forever and you, Bell. You will need to learn to let go. Sometimes the best option is to let go of something. I know that I say to never give up, but while sometimes we need to push those limits and break them to go beyond, there are times that we need to recognize our own limits. Even the greatest of heroes never managed to save everyone and the need of the many outweighs the need of the few."

"What do you mean by that?"

"Bluntly it means that sometimes sacrifices need to be made. If one road takes you to save a hundred while one takes you to save one, you will have to choose. I know it will weigh on your mind but you know that the best choice, not the correct choice, but the best choice is to let one die to save the many."

Bell's eyes widened in shock.

"Bell as I said. You can't always save everyone."

The renard looked down at his feet and nodded.

"I-I understand."

"You can try, but do not let yourself die by doing what you know that you can't do. There is a difference between putting your life on the line and going on a suicide mission. If you perish, who will save the innocent people? And remember you can always ask for help. No one can become strong without the support of others."

A small smile returned to Bell's face.

"I get it. What should I do once I get to Orario?"

"Explore the city a bit, get familiarized and you will want to join another Familia."

"Okay. You said you had a few allies left in Orario, who should I join?"

"Based on what Hermes told, the ones you can trust are well, Hermes, Astraea, Loki, Goibniu, Hephaestus, Ganesha and Ouranos. The thing is that Goibniu and Hephaestus are smithing Familias and don't take in people who won't become smiths and Ouranos is the head of the Guild and doesn't have a Familia. Though if they learn of your connection to me, they might make a small exception."

"Are there any … umm, Far Eastern Familias?"

"Not that I'm allied to. No. Sorry Bell. "

"I see."

"I know you're curious about your origin if you want you can even join a Far Eastern Familia, they don't have to be my allies. As long as it's not Apollo, Ishtar, Soma or Freya, it doesn't matter. You can still get strong and become the hero you want."

"What's the matter with the Familias you mentioned?"

"Freya is a dangerous and perverted woman who will devour you, though I'd be proud if you could ensnare that woman. Avoid her if possible but if you form a positive relationship then it shouldn't be a problem. Anyways, Soma, Ishtar and Apollo, however, are dark and evil Familias which you must absolutely stay away from.

While Freya is ruthless and does some questionable things she has never acted against Orario and wouldn't collude with Evilus, though she did act against me, not out of malice but envy. Those three however, despite no solid proof being found, I can assure you that they have some evil schemes prepared and are somehow tied to Evilus."

"I see. I will keep that in mind."

"Now, let's update your falna one last time. As a member of the Zeus Familia."

The renard nodded and removed his shirt before turning around. With his back exposed to him, the old God let a drop of his blood fall on Bell's skin.

Tsukikage No Gensoku Iji-sha – Active skill that grants eight spere that orbit, perpendicular to the ground, behind the user. Activating the skill strengthens all basic abilities. Each illuminated orb, which corresponds to the current moon phase stage, provides a 20% point boost. It adds 20% of each basic stat points to corresponding state at a new moon phase up to 100% at a full moon phase. Each sphere represents a stage of the moon phase. The spheres provide a direct link to the moon. Due to this, moon empowered skills have effect even when not under direct line of sight of the moon.

Ten No Kitsune – Passive skill that grants regenerative ability to heal injuries. Power greatly amplified under the moon. The amplification is exponentially proportional to how close the moon is to being a full moon.

Argonaut – A heroic strike to turn around the situation able to overcome all aversity. An attack that charges up with time, white and blue sparkles appear when active, the longer it charges the stronger the power. Current maximum charge time: 6 minutes. Concurrent Chanting: Achieved

Senho – Allows user to turn into a frozen fog and move around at fast speeds.

Magic:

Ten Rai No Hakaisha – Forms a sphere of light at the end of each of the nine tails. Each sphere shoots a powerful ray that causes a massively destructive explosion.

"Can I level?"

"Not yet I'm afraid."

The renard's ears and tails drooped down as his expectations weren't met.

"I've been stuck at the peak of level four for the past year."

"That is exactly why you need to go Orario. You are one of few people to have been able to reach level four outside of Orario and Telskyura and for sure the fastest. Now show the world that you will be the first one who can reach level ten."

The renard turned around with wagging tails and nodded. Zeus finished copying down his status on a sheet before handing it over to Bell who barely read any of it before immediately throwing it into the fire of the fireplace.

"Well, let's rest for today. Tomorrow our journeys start."

.

Bell and Zeus woke up and performed their usual morning routine. After finishing, they started packing up their things, taking in the sight of their house in which they had lived in for the past fourteen years, before leaving with large backpacks in which they had packed their belongings.

As they arrived at the edge of the village they saw that everyone in the settlement had gathered around the road to say goodbye. Children, adults and elderly all stood by the entrance as the God and the renard arrived, ready to leave on different paths.

"Are you really going Bell-nii?"

"Yes."

The children all ran up to Bell who enveloped them all in warm hug with arms and tails.

"Bell-nii, will you come back?"

"In the future I may return."

Rory leaned forwards and pecked Bell's cheek, surprising the renard at the sudden action. A slight blush formed on Bell's face, who was still not used to Rory's forward personality.

"You have to come back, alright?"

Bell smiled and kept patting her head before turning to the others of the village. Everyone thanked Bell for his help and wished him and Zeus good luck before the village chief's turn arrived.

"It was an honour to have you two here with us in the village. Thank you for all your work so far, all I can do now is wish you good luck and hope that your future is bright."

"Thank you Mark. I'm truly grateful for your help in raising Bell. I simply hope that without Bell, this village will stay safe."

"Don't worry, we can take care of ourselves."

"Good, we should go now. Take care everyone!"

Bell and Zeus waved at the villagers as they walk south towards the city of Orario. Bell smiled sadly as he saw the children cry while they waved back at him. The God and blessed renard duo kept walking, leaving behind the village, until they arrived at a crossroad. One went south, the other went north-west.

"It seems it's time. Our paths diverge here Bell."

"I see. I will miss you grampa."

"I know you will and so will I."

Bell then coiled his nine tails around one another, forming a strand which made it look like he had a single enormous tail.

"You told me to hide the fact that I have nine tails since no other renard has nine tails. So I thought this would work."

Bell showed him his 'secret' method with a proud tone as he puffed out his chest. Seeing this Zeus started laughing heartily, it was proof that Bell hadn't changed a bit, and that was a good thing.

"Good. But remember Bell, it's crucial you hide your nine tails. Also take this."

The God of the sky presented Bell with an envelope.

"Back when we left, we decided to convert everything to money, our land, manor and everything we own was sold and all the money should be kept in the Guild. This letter will give you access to all the money of my and Hera's Familia. This should solve your money problem."

Bell looked at the envelope before thanking Zeus. They then shared a hug before each taking a different road.

"Don't be sad Bell, we will meet again in the future when you become the strongest of Orario."

"I will hold you to that. You better keep that promise."

"I always do Bell. Never break a promise, remember?"

"I do. Goodbye grampa."

"Goodbye Bell."

.

It only took two days for Bell to arrive at Orario's gate by the evening with the use of his level four strength. Had he taken the usual method, which was through a carriage, then it could have taken up to a week to arrive. Bell's rubellite eyes landed on the massive walls which left the renard surprised. He had never been to a city like Orario and the new experience was exciting for the young Bell.

Hiding his renard features under a cloak, the human looking boy quickly approached the massive gate of the city. The guard on duty finished checking another person before calling up the fourteen years old boy. Though young, many would mistake him for someone in his late teens due to the tall and lean build. Form which he attained through extensive and training, which took him to level four.

The guard's brown eyes met with the rubellite ones of Bell and an awkward silence took over. Bell nervously awaited for the guard to speak, the guard on the other hand looked at the suspicious being and could feel that he was much stronger than he was and couldn't help but be intimidated.

"I-is everything okay?"

Hearing his voice, the guard snapped out and nodded.

"Right, name?"

"Bell Yamato Katsuki."

"For what reason have you come to Orario?"

"I wish to explore the city and later become an adventurer."

"Do you have a blessing?"

"I do."

"Umm, do you have a-any bad intentions towards Orario?"

The renard tilted his head slightly but shook his head, making the guard sigh in relief.

"Welcome to Orario then."

The white haired boy nodded excitedly and rushed past the guard, who now realized that he had forgotten to make him pay the entrance fee. He stared at the quickly vanishing figure of the boy and gave up. It was just a small amount and he couldn't leave his post. Besides, he didn't dare ask someone as scary as him to hand over money. As he looked back there was also the fact that he probably wouldn't be able to catch up anyways.

.

Quickly finding the location of the Guild, Bell made his way into the large building with his cloak pulled forwards. Hiding his face completely he approached the first available counter where a half elf with brown hair and green eyes greeted him.

"Hello, my name is Eina Tulle. How may I help you?"

"Please read this letter."

The soft and gentle voice surprised the Guild member but quickly grabbed the envelope and read the contents. The message inside shocked her as she saw that the letter was a from a God that had vanished fifteen years ago. Not only that, but he was also now handing over the billions of valis from the Zeus and Hera Familia to this person. Money which many had wanted but couldn't get it as the Guild protected it despite the two Familias being banished.

The half elf couldn't believe it but seeing the stamp and the signature left at the bottom, which she had seen many times in the records of the two great Familias, she had no choice but to immediately give him the keys to the vaults and as it was a deposit she would need to tell her higher ups to add all the interest to it.

"It should have been in the letter but Ouranos is to be informed and I expect that no one other than the Guild will know about this."

"Yes. O-of course."

"Then I assume I can enter and leave the vault with whatever amount of valis I want."

"T-that's correct. It is now yours to manage."

Bell thanked the half elf before retrieving ten thousand valis and leaving. Luckily no one would be able to recognize him with his cloak. While he wanted to solve the money issue he didn't want to parade the fact that he was affiliated to Zeus. Now that he had money, Bell started exploring the city in search of a good restaurant as it was getting late.

Walking down the streets, his strong nose suddenly picked out a fragrant scent that came from his left. Attracted to it, his eyes followed the invisible trail of the delicious scent to a large pub. He looked up and saw that the place was called the Hostess of Fertility.

A grey haired woman, who worked as a waitress there, saw him staring at the place and skipped her way to him. It was the perfect chance to draw in another customer and it looked like he really wanted to eat anyways so she would only be doing him a favor.

"Hello there, you looking to eat?"

The renard looked at the girl before him and nodded which was then accompanied with his face turning into a tomato as his stomach growled.

"Hehehe, don't worry, Mama Mia serves the best of food here."

Embarrassed the white haired boy followed the waitress into the pub. As he entered he saw that the place was nearly full. Tables and counter were filled with adventurers who had returned from their dungeon dives. One group in particular stood out to Bell as they all sat at a large table but decided to not pay them any attention.

"Mama, I brought a new customer!"

The large dwarf at the counter turned around and saw the waitress enter with the cloaked boy behind her.

"You roped in another adventurer?"

Bell nervously laughed before responding.

"Hahaha, I'm no adventurer."

"Really? You may not look like to other people, but you sure as hell don't feel weak."

"T-thank you. As miss …"

"Syr, my name is Syr Flova."

"As miss Syr said I'm hungry and I was looking for a place to eat."

"Sure thing, my name is Mia Grand, just call me Mama Mia or Mia. I'm the owner of this place, now sit here and I'll serve you the best food of your life!"

Bell nodded and sat down at the counter just before Mia. Feeling a little stuffy, Bell removed cape that covered his head, garnering the attention of a few people, as his long white hair, red eyes and handsome face were revealed for all to see. No one noticed the renard ears though as he kept them flat against his head hidden under his hair, which made him look human.

"Ha, you're pretty handsome aren't you?"

Bell turned to Mia and blushed a little.

"The people in my village also tended to say that."

"Well they weren't lying."

A few minutes later Mia deposited a huge amount of food, which Bell doubted he could finish until he tried it. If there was one thing he was sure about is that this had to be some of the best food he had by far. He didn't hold back as began wolfing down the food put before him by the large dwarf.

"This is great!"

"Hahaha, thanks kid, I'll be sure to tell May."

Bell kept on eating while thinking about everything he had experienced so far since arriving in the city. There were many exciting things that Bell had never seen before and which he wanted to try. There were also a lot of different and interesting jobs that he never had the chance to try before. That's when he remembered his promise to Zeus. The goal was to become an adventurer and grow to be the strongest. That's when a thought crossed his mind.

'But … as long as a I become an adventurer and become stronger … grampa said it doesn't matter who I join. So, it shouldn't be a problem what I do outside of being an adventurer, right? Maybe I could take a part time job. Hehe, that seems interesting.'

Bell was giddy as his mind explored the infinite possibilities inside his head. He had always wanted to try and make bread, don't ask him why, he just did. However, since coming to the city he had also experienced many things he'd never seen before like drawing paintings and other artistic subjects like music. As he kept thinking he eventually noticed most people staring at him.

Mia in particular looked at him weirdly with a raised eyebrow which made Bell wonder why everyone was staring at him. The awkward silence and everyone's curious gaze made the young renard embarrassed as he didn't expect to attract that much attention.

"W-what's the matter Mia-san? Why is everyone staring?"

"Say boy, what was your name?"

"Bell. My name is Bell."

"Right, Bell, I just have to ask, but do you have something under your cloak?"

The white haired teen's head tilted to the right not understanding why she would ask that. The reason though, became very apparent when he turned to look back. In his thoughtful state he hadn't noticed that he had begun wagging his tail from the excitement.

"Oh sorry about that. Sometimes I can't control my tail."

That made Syr and Mia blink a few times as Bell removed his cloak and revealed his large fluffy tail which slowly moved left to right and right to left. This left many beast people in the pub mesmerized by the soft looking tail before looking at their own with a pout, particularly the cat people as they stood no chance.

"You're a beast race?"

"Yes."

"But you don't have beast ears, do you?"

In response Bell made his pointy fox ears shoot up before wiggling them a little which many patrons found adorable.

"I'm a renard."

Unnoticed to him there was a group of seven Far Eastern people who were shocked to hear that.

"A renard? I haven't seen many of your kind. I can only think of two or three."

"Well we are a rare race even in the Far East. Apparently there are even fewer of us than there are elves or high elves."

"I see. Say are you new to Orario?"

"Yes, I've just arrived today. After this I'll go look for a place to stay."

"Hmm, what are you here for Bell?"

"Well, I want to become an adventurer. But I was also looking for another job. Something different from being an adventurer, something which doesn't require fighting."

"I can understand why one might want to become an adventurer. There are many reasons. But why be something other than an adventurer. Being an adventurer is a hard job, but it will earn you money and fame. Besides, why something that doesn't require fighting when you are going to be an adventurer?"

"The reason for that is that despite the fact that I'm a renard and I was born in the Far East, I have never been to the Far East."

"What do you mean?"

"Apparently my grampa, who lived in a small rural village, found me as a baby floating down a river and has taken care of me ever since. I've lived there until a few days ago and the only thing I did there was hunting and fighting off monsters since I was much stronger than others due to me being a renard."

"Ah, then you came to Orario and discovered a whole new world, right?"

"Yes. As you said being an adventurer would be great but there are other things I wish to explore about this world. I want to do something which doesn't end up in someone dying. I do believe life is precius and I wish to do something which suits me better. Something that would cherish life, help people and make them smile. Sure being an adventurer can do that, you kill someone and someone's life is saved. They are grateful and you become a hero in the eyes of everyone else. But there are other ways do that without having to use a soul as a sacrifice."

"Hmm. What about being an adventurer? Why do you want to take such a dangerous job?"

"Because of my grampa. I made a promise with him that I'll become the strongest. To make him proud but also to finish and clear my grampa's Familia legacy and name. To reinstate their honor. To make sure that no one disrespects them. But also because I said I care for people's lives.

Unfortunately in order to save as many as possible becoming stronger is necessary. And killing is also a natural part of the process. I won't do so if not strictly necessary. But this world is not as beautiful and forgiving as to let that happen, now is it?"

Mia saw the burning passion and determination in his eyes and nodded at the question. This world was indeed cruel and relentless. Somehow the story of his grampa's Familia felt familiar but decided to leave it be.

"That's quite the reason you've got there kid. Certainly more honorable and respectable than what most adventurers want."

Their conversation was then cut off by the arrival of an amazon with a sizeable bust, who clung to Bell, wrapping her arm around the renard. Mia was going tell her to get off as her place wasn't a brother to pick up people at will, but that she never got the chance as Bell acted first.

"Kyaa!"

With a cute scream, Bell used his tail to slap the amazon across the face, which sent her flying. Having been raised by a pervert, he usually had to help the girls in the village punish him after they often reacted by slapping the old God. However, that combined with his innocent nature made him develop a similar reaction. How that happened, no one knows.

"I-I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to hit you!"

Everyone was shocked, knowing that the amazon he slapped was a level three. The fact that she was a level three and got sent flying anyways spoke volumes of how strong Bell was, more so considering that Bell clearly hadn't hit her at full force.

"Hehehehe."

The amazon laughed to herself which creeped Bell out.

"W-wh-what? Why are you laughing?"

"Not only are you cute, but you're strong as well. This is just perfect."

The grin on her face sent a shiver down the renard's back which decided to do the only thing he could think of.

"Bloom forth sakura of the East. Let thee be free and released. Reito Furawakeji."

A bright blue sakura flower formed beneath Bell's feet surrounded by a magic circle courtesy of his mage developmental ability. Then vines started sprouting out of the blue flower, they shot out towards the amazon and instantly wrapped her up like a present.

"Toketsu."

As Bell spoke the word, the vines froze and so did the amazon and was now encased in ice. The vines disappeared leaving behind a large frozen ice cube which held the girl with a surprised face. Others around were shocked at the sudden spell and its effect but said nothing, just staring at the amazon who tried to pounce on the renard.

"I'm sorry Mia-san. I-I didn't mean to."

The dwarf however, simply laughed and pat the renard on the back, not daring to touch the ears as she had no intention of being frozen like a popsicle.

"Don't sweat it kid. She had it coming. Besides, that's a nice looking sculpture you made."

Bell looked back at the ice cube and despite the fact that she had made aggressive advances, he was Bell and still felt bad about his reaction. That's when Mia got a great idea that would benefit both Bell and her already popular pub.

"Say Bell, you said you were looking for a job outside of being an adventurer. How about working here as a waiter? I can offer you a place to stay and a good salary if you accept."

The sudden offer surprised Bell while completely blowing away the people who were currently present in the room. It was well known that Mia only recruited girls with past problems, moreover she wasn't someone that would often show kindness.

"Is that really okay? I don't think I could do much."

"I'll admit that I've taken a liking to you. You're quite the interesting fellow. I am sure you'll do fine and if anything you can simply do the heavy lifting or maybe learn how to cook. Besides, having you here will bring me extra customers. I'm sure many girls would come by just to see you. Either way, you will be helpful if you decide to accept the offer."

The renard thought about it for a while but eventually couldn't find a reason to decline.

"Very well. As long as you think that I will be able to help you. Also, just a place to stay would be fine, I have plenty of money."

"Nonsense boy, you get paid. My house, my rules."

The boy blinked before sighing in defeat.

"Yes Mama Mia."

The response brought a smile to the dwarf.

"Then welcome to your new home Bell."

.

With that bombshell of a news, the night quickly moved on, as the news rapidly spread through the city. As the last patrons, the Far Eastern group, left after staring at Bell for a while, Mia had the girls throw the ice cube out before Bell melted the ice to let the amazon free. As she decided to get out of there Mia closed down the place for the day.

The staff then introduced themselves to the renard. From which he learnt the names of Chloe, Anya, May and Lunoire as well as the fact that everyone other May and Syr was a level four. He was even more surprised to learn that Mia was a level six.

Deciding to not idle around Bell helped the girls clean the place which they appreciated. Particularly the lazy cat girls. Mia was thankful that he had taken the job, because while she wouldn't say it, she really needed more staff to maintain the pub. As the cleaning was done and the girls retired for the night, Bell waited behind, until it was just him and Mia.

"Hmm?"

"Umm, this is something that I'm supposed to keep secret, but I trust you. Besides, I feel like informing you would help me protect this secret."

"What is it boy?"

Bell responded by bringing forwards his tail and unfurling it. A tail unwraped revealing the equally fluffy and large tail. Except that instead of being a single tail, Bell suddenly had nine tails which completely shocked the owner of the Hostess of Fertility.

"Umm, Bell, let me get this straight, but … you have nine tails?"

The renard nodded at her question.

"Were you born like this?"

Mia's curiosity was peaked as Bell nodded. He then explained to him why he needed to keep this a secret and prevent others from knowing.

"I see. That certainly wouldn't be good. But don't worry boy, you're secret is safe with me. I'll make sure no one tries anything. If they do I'll whoop their ass into tomorrow."

Bell smiled and nodded.

"Thank you Mia."

"Oh yea, before I forget. What level are you Bell?"

Mia remembered Bell flinging the amazon away before beautifully displaying his magic spell.

"Level four."

"What? You reached level four outside of Orario?"

"Yep, my God said that I was one of few to do so outside of Orario and Telskyura."

"Umm, how old are you?"

"Fourteen."

"I see. Normally I'd say don't try anything of funny on my staff, but I guess I should tell them that."

Mia already imagined the number of times she'd have to smack black haired cat girl.

"Be particularly wary of Chloe. The dumb cat has it out for cute boys. Well that's enough surprises for today I'd say. What are you going to do tomorrow?"

"I need to prepare a few things. Like search for a Familia, learn about the dungeon, register as an adventurer as well as getting new equipment. I don't own any armour or weapons."

"Alright. Go to the tower of Babel if you want equipment. Once you're done come back so that Lunoire here can teach you how to work here."

"Alright, see you tomorrow then."

"Good night boy."

~To Be Continued

So how was this new story?

This story will likely be a bit more fast paced compared to the others. And unlike my other stories, Bell doesn't start from zero but rather I skip to the point where he is peak level four which will entail much more heated fights earlier on.

Question time (haven't done this for a while.)

Who else should I add to the harem?

(for everyone's information Alfia and Zald are dead in this one. They attacked Orario, the reason why the Astraea Familia is still alive is because, while not explained in the story, Rudra and his Familia fail to activate the trap and were arrested. However this does lead to a few new events occuring due to him being alive but arrested.)

Should I give Bell a growth ability?

How much stronger than his current level should he be? Cause I genuinely am not sure.

Should Bell's real parents be alive and should he meet them in the future?

That is all for questions, I think.

I will say that Bell will join the Take Familia and as he is a renard, he will attract many Far Eastern people to the Take Familia. Like Riveria inspired many elves to leave the forest and become adventurers.

Currently I intend to post the second chapter in two days from now after I check for errors and make a few edits.

With that done I hope you have a great day and will see you on the next chapter of this story :)
