Hullo! TheInsanePraetor, aka Tip, here! I hope this formats well. If it does the weird thingy were it shows the code and everything, let me know please!
(Percy POV)
I ran and ran. Rapidly blinking back, the tears that threatened to fall. I chocked back a sob. I couldn't believe it, he cheated on me! First Luke, then Nico (Hi, TIP here, Percy has a slightly different background that I will get to and isn't dating Annabeth, Annabeth is just her best friend.), I couldn't take it. My legs finally giving out, I collapsed. Curling into a ball against a tree, the dam broke. I cried and cried and cried. Huge sobs racked by body; my breath came in short, quick breaths. I felt strong, yet slender arms wrap around me. I was pulled against a slim body, I guessed it was a female. She smelled of berries and pine trees. My head was gently lowed to her shoulder, where I cried more and more.
*I am just a line, ignore me, I want banana ice cream, I hate eggs, poor Percy*
My sobbing slowly dissolved into small hiccups, after a while. Whoever was holding me, who I assumed was Thalia, continued to whisper comforting words into my ear. Slowly lifting my head, I started mumbling,
"Sorry Thals didn't mean to-" finally lifting my head I abruptly stopped. Yelping in surprise I dropped into a bow, "Lady Artemis," I said respectfully.
I heard chuckling above me and a gentle, yet firm, hand on my chin, pulling me up.
"It's alright Persephone. Now would you tell me what is wrong," Artemis said. Her head titled in curiosity, her silver eyes sparkling in worry, as she let go of my chin. My head looked down, as I mumbled something along the lines of,
"Nico. Minor goddess. Cheat." I wasn't expecting her to hear me, but she's a goddess of course she heard me. I felt her firm hand grab my chin again. She forced me to look into her shining silver orbs. Her brows were furrowed in a way that made her look cute. Wait, cute?!
"Persephone are you saying that boy cheated on you?" she questioned vehemently. I was slightly shocked by the intensity in her statement. Why was she so worried about me? I mean I am a maiden, but not one of her hunters. I nodded as much as I could with her grabbing my chin. In her rage her grip had started to hurt. Realizing she was hurting she let go. Tears started blurring my vision again. Quickly blinking them back, I took a slow shuttering breath. Artemis placed her hands on my shoulders, making me flinch involuntarily. Artemis raised on of her eyebrows in question but decided on not commenting.
"Persephone, I would like to, once again, invite you into the hunt. I don't often offer this multiple times, but…..you are a special case," Artemis spoke carefully. I pondered my options. I could join the hunters and leave camp, and Nico. Or I could stay at camp, and have to face Nico and the rest of the camp. After a moment's hesitation I replied,
"I-I would be honored to join the hunters m'lady," I replied. I swear I saw victory and pleasure flash in Artemis's eyes.
